Factors Associated Defecting Carelessly Habits in Muara Sipongi District, Mandailing Natal Regency
The achievement of proper hygiene and sanitation such as healthy latrine ownership is an aim of sustainable development from SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). WHO data states that poor sanitation is one of the causes of death from diarrhea through water borne diseases to reach 3.4 million/years. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect defecating habits in Muara Sipongi Mandailing Natal District. The type of research is quantitative with cross sectional design. The population and samples are households that do not have as many as 200 households. The results showed that there was no relationship with income = 0.394 (P> 0.05), there was a relationship with knowledge, home distance and water availability of each value P = 0.001 (P <0.05) with the habit of defecation carelessly. It is advisable to the community to try to build latrines in every house or use facilities that have been provided from the local government such as public latrines so that there is no disease through feces. To each head of the family to encourage family members to defecate in their place and forbid neighbors to defecate carelessly near the house and in a stupid
The Influence of Learning Models and Learning Styles on Students' Science Literacy in Primary School
The purposes of this research are to analyze: 1) The influence of learning models on students' science literacy abilities, 2) The influence of learning styles on students' science literacy abilities, and 3) The interaction between learning models and types of learning styles on students' science literacy abilities in primary school. This type of research is a Quasi-Experimental design with Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. In this study, The population was all fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 067251 Medan Deli. With sampling techniques and totaling samples, the entire population was sampled. Research instruments in the form of learning style questionnaires and science literacy assesment. The data were analyzed using Two-Way Anova with the help of IBM's SPSS version 26 program. The results showed that: 1) There is an influence of learning models on students' science literacy abilities (sig. 0.00 < 0.05); 2) There is an influence of student learning styles on students' science literacy abilities (sig. 0.014 < 0.05); and 3) There is an interaction between learning models and learning styles on students' science literacy abilities in primary schools (sig. 0.043 < 0.05)
Polemic Discourse on the Zoning Education System Policy by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Bondowoso Indonesia
This study aims to describe the polemic over the zoning education system policy in the Bondowoso region. The method used is qualitative research with the type of critical discourse analysis research and the Fairclough critical discourse analysis model. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences related to the text and the results of the interviews which show polemics. Sources of data for this research were taken from Ministry of Education and Culture Regulations, follow-up policies from the Education Office, interview results, and online media documentation. The instruments used in data collection were the researchers themselves who acted as key instruments, devices, recording devices, note sheets, and laptops. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out using documentation, interviews and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques, researchers used critical discourse analysis developed by Fairclough by way of description, interpretation and explanation. The results of the study show the use of lingual features such as lexical processes, euphemisms, transitivity, and modality, as well as the ideology of each group involved. The polemic found from each group with the existence of a zoning education system policy can be used as literacy material and also for consideration in making further policies
The Existence of Customary Land and its Utilization Pattern for Tourism Business
The purpose of this study are: (1) A comparison of the existence of customary land rights owned by indigenous villages in Gianyar Regency and those owned by indigenous communities in Banyuwangi Regency.; and (2) patterns of utilization of customary land for the provision of tourist facilities and attractions. Customary land owned by Batuan Traditional Village and Padangtegal Traditional Village in Gianyar Regency, Bali still exists mainly in the form of customary village druwe land. Meanwhile, the Osing Indigenous Community of Kemiren Village in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java is not explicitly recognized as having customary land rights over land or other physical resources. Customary rights are reflected in the ownership of intangible cultural assets/heritage, such as art, rituals, and traditions. The utilization of customary rights for tourism businesses in Batuan Customary Village and Padangtegal Customary Village is managed individually or institutionalized by customary villages based on local regulations. (awig-awig and/or pararem). Whereas in the Osing indigenous community of Kemiren Village there is the utilization of intangible cultural heritage owned by indigenous communities such as art, rituals, and traditions as tourist attractions and attractions
Minstrelsy, Apprenticeship, Origin and Features of Biripo, the Ilaje Folk-Poetry
Issues of minstrelsy, apprenticeship, origin, features of Biripo, the Ilaje oral performance in chanting and singing modes, and the influence of modernity and technology on it have never been subjects of any known research in folkloric literature or other fields of human knowledge. This paper thus, investigates the issues of minstrelsy, apprenticeship in Biripo, origin and features of Biripo among the people. The paper employs sociological approach to the study of Biripo since it operates within its society of origin. Sociological approach to the study of literature or folklore examines a text or indigenous oral performances through sociological binoculars with a view to examining how the text has been influenced by the society and vice-versa which justifies the adoption of the theory. The paper also gathers information through oral interviews and secondary materials such as textbooks, journal articles and cyber materials. The research finds out that: the issues of minstrelsy, apprenticeship is present in Biripo the way it is in other indigenous forms, the oral (Biripo) artist occupies special place in his community and enjoys special privilege from the community leaders and the people, Biripo is a product of the people’s tradition and quotidian existence from the pre-literate and post-literate eras and that modernity and technology have tremendously influenced Biripo, functional application and that the use of ideophones, call and response, affinity with ritual and masquerades songs etc are features of Biripo. The paper advocates the technologising of Biripo for the 21st century exigencies and realities
Factors Related to the Participation of Mothers’ Toddlers in the Stunting Prevention Program at Sicanang Health Center Medan City
One of the wholesome issues in the world nowadays is the issue of hindering which is being experienced by toddlers, especially in developing and poor countries. Malnutrition during the growth and development of toddlers will hinder their physical development, increase morbidity, hinder children's mental development, and can cause death. Based on data of Medan City Health Office or Dinas Kesehatan Kota Medan, stunting cases in 2022 as of August reached 555 cases. The sub-district with the highest stunting cases was in Secanang Sub-District with the number of verified cases as of August 2022 of 61 (6.40%) cases of stunting under five. This study aims to analyze the Factors Associated with the Participation of Mothers under Toddlers in the Stunting Prevention Program in the Working Area of the Sicanang Health Center, Medan City. This research is a quantitative analytic survey research with a cross sectional design. The sample used amounted to 100 people. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The outcomes about appeared that the related factors were Eagerness (p=0.018), Capacity (p=0.026), Opportunity (p=0.037) and Social Back (p=0.001) with the Cooperation of Moms Little children within the Stunting Avoidance Program within the Work Range of the Sicanang City Wellbeing Center Medan.Suggestions for this research are that the stunting prevention program officers are expected to conduct education about the stunting prevention program for mothers of toddlers who have stunted children or not, so that it can be prevented and treated early so that stunting rates can be reduced and nutrition can be improved from an early age. And also stunting prevention program officers can make improvements to the program by conducting socialization on how to prevent counseling in health-based community activities to coordinate with each other and have good communication
Review of Fiqh Siyasah on the Implementation of Mayor's Regulation No. 12 Year 2011 Concerning Retribution of Licenses at the Selling of Alcoholic Beverages in Medan City
In Islam it is not very good and has an effect in the future. Therefore, both in essence and in use, alcoholic beverages are qat'i forbidden in the Qur'an and the sunnah of the Prophet SAW. Therefore beer and so on can be considered haram. That's why it can't be touched at all. The study of Fiqh Siyasah covers aspects of regulating the relationship between citizens and citizens, the relationship between citizens and state institutions, and the relationship between state institutions and state institutions. This study aims to review Fiqh Siyasah on the implementation of Mayor Regulation no. 12 of 2011 concerning Levies for Permits for Selling Alcoholic Drinks in Medan City. Using a descriptive method, the results of this study indicate that the Fiqh Siyasah review of the implementation of Mayor Regulation No. 12 of 2011 concerning the retribution for permits for selling alcoholic beverages Medan City, which has not been carried out in accordance with Fiqh Siyasah because Islam itself forbids alcoholic beverages because there are more bad things that caused by consuming alcoholic beverages rather than the good
Afghanistan EFL Lecturers and Students' Attitudes towards Paktia-University Languages and Literature Faculty English Department Curriculum by Using CIPP Model
The goal of this study is to evaluate the English department curriculum at Afghanistan Paktia University from the perspectives of EFL lecturers and students in accordance with the CIPP Model which has four dimensions; Context, input, process, and product. The research used a quantitative approach to collect data from 88 lectures and students which analyzed using SPSS version 24. The replies of the participants were ascertained using descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test). The outcome proved that the English-Department curriculum at Paktia University's Languages and Literature Faculty received favorable evaluations from both the lecturer and the students. Study restrictions made it clear that a mixed-method study may be conducted to produce more credible results
Teaching Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers in the State University of Surabaya: Strategies and Challenges
This paper aims to discuss the challenges and strategies of teaching Indonesian language to foreign speakers in State University of Surabaya. This study emphasizes on the strategies that can be used to improve the effectiveness of Indonesian language teaching for foreign speakers, given the various challenges that arise during the teaching-learning process. The study was conducted using qualitative method and in-depth interviews as the data collection tool. The respondents in this study were 10 Indonesian language teachers for foreign speakers from various countries in Asia and Europe. The research results show that the first problem is related to the complex grammar of the Indonesian language, which is difficult for foreign speakers to grasp, and the need to adapt teaching methods to suit the learning style and needs of foreign students. The strategies to overcome these problems include simplifying the teaching of grammar through the use of practical examples, employing active learning through games and role-playing, and having student-centered teaching methods that are tailored to the needs and preferences of foreign students
Exploring the Experiences in Developing Character Education through E-Learning During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The limited implementation of direct learning has forced lecturers and students to seek alternative learning solutions. E-learning has proven to be a suitable solution for optimal learning in this new era of education. Therefore, this qualitative phenomenology study aimed to explore the experiences of e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic by analyzing two lecturers and 190 PK course students. Appropriate techniques and instruments were used to obtain data, and triangulation was performed to ensure its reliability. Furthermore, data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that (1) e-learning was implemented through various platforms such as WhatsApp Group for communication, Google Classroom for assignments and exams, and Zoom Meeting for virtual classes, (2) good learning outcomes were achieved through the use of various platforms and students’ involvement, and (3) the biggest challenge faced was the availability of electricity and internet access. The novelty of e-learning lies in its integration of different platforms with student-centered and self-directed activities
