    Get PDF
This study explores the impact of aging on the physical and cognitive capabilities, as well as the motivational factors, of military reservist volunteers in Agusan del Norte, Philippines. The objective is to assess how these factors affect the performance and motivation of aging reservists. Employing a descriptive correlational research design, the study examines the relationships among variables influencing reservists' effectiveness. The findings indicate a moderate decline in aging reservists' physical attributes, including strength, agility, and flexibility, and a similar trend in cognitive functions like memory and decision-making. However, these reservists effectively adapt their practices to mitigate aging impacts. Motivation is influenced significantly by both intrinsic factors, such as career advancement, and extrinsic factors, like the sense of comradeship, with the latter exerting a slightly greater influence. The study recommends that the Department of National Defense and the Armed Forces of the Philippines adopt adaptive training programs and cognitive enhancement workshops for aging reservists. Additionally, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and other educational bodies should develop veteran-focused programs and educational incentives to support career advancement and lifelong learning. The Department of Social Welfare and Development can further support aging reservists through community development projects, leveraging their experience and fostering a sense of purpose and community engagement

    Get PDF
Pashtun culture is a rich and diverse culture that has been shaped by centuries of history and tradition. Often referred to as Pashtunwali, this culture encompasses every aspect of daily life, from social norms and customs to religious practices and cuisine. As an ethnic group, the Pashtun people are primarily located in Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are known for their proud and distinctive culture that emphasizes loyalty, hospitality, and respect for the Pashtun code of conduct. A central aspect of Pashtun is the Pashtunwali, which is the traditional code of conduct of the Pashtun people. Derived from the Pashto language, this code emphasizes concepts like courage, honor, and hospitality, and serves as a guide for how Pashtuns should conduct their lives. Hospitality is one of the most valued traits in Pashtun culture, and guests are treated with the utmost respect and care. This tradition dates back to the times of the ancient Silk Road, when traveling merchants of all backgrounds would stop at the Pashtuns' homes and receive food, shelter, and care. Music and dance are also cherished in Pashtun culture, with traditional instruments like the rubab (a lute-like instrument) and tabla (a percussion instrument) used to create melodic and rhythmic pieces. The attan, a traditional dance, is common at weddings, religious festivals, and other celebrations. The Pashtuns are a primarily Muslim community, and religion is deeply ingrained in their culture. Islamic practices like praying five times a day, fasting during Ramadan, and giving to charity are all important parts of life for Pashtuns. However, Pashtunwali also places a strong emphasis on tolerance and respect for other religions, and there is a long history of coexistence between different faiths in the region

The Links between Political Campaigning and Post-Truth

    Get PDF
The paper investigates the links between political campaigning and post-truth. The research argues that there are five main factors that make a successful post-truth political campaign. The first is marinating a goal of achieving a practical outcome. The second is the success to control public agenda. The third is providing a different definition of truth. fourth factor is the use of claims based on emotional beliefs. And the fifth is the success to trigger a response from the opposing party. Based on this theoretical approach, the research examines information published in the Israeli election campaign of April 2019 by the leading Likud party and its leader, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against their main rivals – Blue and White party and its leader, Benny Gantz - former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff. The issue examined is the post-truth campaign involving the cell phone hacking of Gantz. The examination looks at the campaign according to the main factors that make a successful post-truth political campaign, as described earlier. It aims to examine the way that these factors were implemented by the Likud campaign – and conclude if using these factors was properly done in this post-truth campaign

During the COVID-19 pandemic pregnant women had to cope with the unknown and unprecedented challenges the coronavirus health crisis created. The Greek state and the biomedical discourse classified pregnant women as vulnerable due to the increased risk of severe illness and mortality rate of pregnant women infected by the coronavirus, depriving them of any kind of agency. However, the fear of slow violence of potential COVID-19 infection to the fetus’s health and the health of pregnant women led them, and particularly, the participants in this research, to act agentively as self risk-managers and to proceed to the adoption of several measures in order to alleviate this fear and to safeguard their own and their fetus’s health. These measures consisted of self-regulated preventive measures, mitigation strategies, and the COVID-19 vaccine uptake or refusal. These findings constituted the voice of the interviewees and their experience of being pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were the outcome of the conduct of eighteen online formal semi-structured in-depth online interviews and netnography. Get PDF
At first, I want to say something about stakeholders. Stakeholders indicate one type of system or organization in which all members or participants are seen having an interest in its success. Or, stakeholder denotes on a people who work for the success of the education system in schools or other educational places. They are students, teachers, employees, principals, parents, friends, education authorities, policymakers, community leaders, and members, politicians, government test service providers, researchers/Media/Religion, organizations teacher training institutions, local business leaders and school board members. When it is selecting an assessment and evaluation, it is important to consider the needs of all the stakeholders involved. Stakeholders, or persons involved with or invested in the assessment and evaluation process, include students and test-takers, administrators, parents, teachers, instructors, and many others. The Stakeholders map shows a web of potential stakeholders. It may not be possible to meet the needs of all stakeholders in assessment and evaluation.  However, it is important to plan with these groups in mind and to find an assessment and evaluation that fit best. I want to review some stakeholders in assessment and evaluation, the impact of effect and I have to analyze the evaluation systems which are followed in Afghanistan. In this study, I have mostly analyzed many evaluation methods that are popular in Afghanistan and are currently being used
