Furthermore, poetry's archival value as a historical record is illuminated, capturing the spirit of different ages and contributing to our collective societal understanding. Through this synthesis, poetry is recognized as an enduring vehicle for exploring and challenging social dynamics, immortalizing the collective human psyche in rhythmic form. Through their craft, poets offer critiques and engage in the socio-political commentary that continues to shape the literary canon and our collective understanding. The study's findings underscore poetry’s timeless relevance as a medium for social critique and thematic exploratio

    Get PDF
This study aims to elucidate the empirical findings of the effectiveness of dictogloss approaches in teaching grade IX students at SMP Parulian 3 Medan how to create narratives. This study uses a quantitative approach. Pretest and posttest design is the experimental methodology used in this study. 36 students in grade IX at SMP Parulian 3 Medan participated in the study's population during the 2023–2024 academic year. The researcher chose two groups as the research sample by using purposive sampling. Class IX A, an experimental class, and class IX B, a control class that will learn to produce narrative texts using dictogloss procedures, make up the chosen research sample class. There were 36 pupils between the two classes. Before therapy, the researcher administered a pretest to both classes, and following treatment, a posttest. Students are instructed to produce narrative texts for both the pretest and posttest using the writing instrument used in this study. The efficacy of the dictogloss technique on students' narrative text writing was then ascertained by utilizing the t test formula to examine the data collected from the pretest and posttest. The t-observation value was 4.27 in the results. The tt (ttable) value with 34 degrees of freedom at a significance degree of 5% is 2.03. This shows that t is greater than tt, or alternative hypotheses (H_o) are rejected, and the alternative The hypothesis (H_a) is agreed upon. Thus, it can be said that the scores of students' narrative writing before and after using the dictogloss technique differ significantly. Stated differently, the dictogloss technique is effective for learning to write narrative texts

ABSTRACT This study is designed to investigate  the factors hindering  the return of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Marawi City resulting from the May 2017 Marawi Siege   to the most affected area (MAA), revealing the urgent need for holistic solutions that address property ownership, socio-economic challenges, security concerns, administrative hurdles, and psychological trauma. The primary data required in the study were scientifically obtained through the use of the FGD and key informant interview (KII) methods. More specifically, the study findings disclosed that despite the fact that over 86% of Marawi's displaced longing to return home, a multitude of obstacles stand in their way such as  inadequate housing, insecure land ownership, limited livelihoods, lingering trauma, and bureaucratic hurdles create a tangled web of challenges. Moreover, the aforementioned findings were further exacerbated by   the exclusion of undocumented residents from reconstruction efforts, widening inequalities and stalling progress. To facilitate a smooth return, comprehensive solutions addressing financial constraints, trauma, community rebuilding, and streamlined administrative processes are critical. Only then can Marawi's displaced rebuild their lives and restore their shattered sense of home. Hence,  a comprehensive housing plan offering reconstruction support, flexible payment options, and diverse shelter models for non-owners is crucial; exigent empowerment through financial assistance, skills training, and infrastructure development; addressing  psychological well-being through culturally sensitive mental health programs; building trust and accountability requires transparency in resource allocation and addressing concerns about bogus beneficiaries and unauthorized demolitions; and collaboration between government agencies, NGOs, and communities empowers IDPs and ensures their voices are heard

This research involved validation tests by material experts, media experts, and learning design experts, as well as trial stages, namely individual trials on 3 students, small group trials on 6 students, and limited field trials on 30 students. The research results show that the E-Module with the Flipbook platform is suitable for use based on media expert validation of 89.17% (very feasible), material expert validation of 92.13% (very feasible), and learning design expert validation of 88.71% (very feasible). In the individual trial, the score was 91.47% (very decent), the small group trial got a score of 92.33% (very decent), and the field trial got a score of 96.14% (very decent). The use of E-Modules with the Flipbook platform in GIS subjects is more effective than conventional whiteboard media, as can be seen from the results of tcount = 1.91 and tTable = 1.672, where 1.91 > 1.672 at the significance level α = 0.05. This shows that H0 is is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This means that there is a noticeable difference in student learning results between the experimental and control classes with a significance level of 5%. The effectiveness value of the E-Module with the Flipbook platform is higher, namely 84.7%, compared to student learning outcomes using whiteboard media of 80.8%

    Get PDF
This study examines the construction of experiential in  the news text of the inauguration of members of the  MPR/DPR/DPD RI for  the period 2024-2029. The construction of experiential is a morphosyntactic construction where the subject experience something, feels a sensation, and experiences mental actions by the stimulus of the sentence object. The steps in this research method are carried out with the aim of finding structured, concrete answers through language phenomena that can be studied. Data collection was conducted using the observation method and note-taking technique. Data analysis was conducted using the distribution method and basic techniques for direct elements and advanced techniques of reading, marking, expanding, and changing forms. The results of this study show that the construction of experiential can be analyzed in the verbs of affection and verbs of cognition. The agent occupies the position of the subject mapped as the experiential or the object mapped as the stimulus or both can correspond in the sentence. The verbs of affection can involve or describe someone's feelings. In addition, the addition of two verb arguments can change the semantic role in the example of the verb "feel". The dative element found in the object of experiential in the verb to be and juxtaposed with adjectives describes quality. The purpose of the construction of experiential is to find a strong meaning in the relationship of subject - object or object - subject in the sentence and the semantic role bound in it. Therefore, it can be concluded that the semantic role and morphology is closely related to the syntactic structure in a sentence
