    Get PDF
This research aims to strengthen the MBKM ecosystem through the PPKS Task Force in all Indonesian universities, in accordance with Permendikbudristek Number 30 of 2021. This initiative supports the concept of Independent Learning Campus Independence with a focus on freedom, innovation and independence. Sexual violence was identified as a major obstacle to creating an inclusive learning environment. The PPKS Task Force, like at USU, UM, and UPR, is collaborating with Puspeka to provide training and use creative media such as comics and videos to increase students' understanding and awareness regarding this issue. However, participation in PPKS socialization is still minimal, and this research suggests increasing the use of creative media to disseminate information. This study was conducted at seven universities in six provinces of Indonesia, using the Participatory Action Research method with the active participation of students, lecturers and education staff. The development of creative media, such as short films and short stories, is field tested to strengthen understanding regarding PPKS and build an inclusive and healthy educational environment. The research findings demonstrate the urgency of addressing sexual violence in higher education and recommend a more targeted and comprehensive awareness campaign to increase understanding and participation in PPKS initiatives throughout Indonesia

    Get PDF
ABSTRACT This study utilizes the “Spokesperson’ s Remarks” section on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’ s Republic of China, focusing on over 100,000 words from the regular press conferences held by the Ministry in 2023. Drawing upon Martin and White’ s (2005) appraisal theory as the analytical framework, this research conducts frequency statistics and functional discourse analysis on the categories of attitudinal resources in the selected corpus. Employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches, the study aims to identify and investigate the discourse meanings conveyed through attitude resources in the news discourse of “regular press conferences,” revealing the linguistic characteristics of China’ s diplomatic discourse. Furthermore, it seeks to summarize the significance and impact of diplomatic discourse on the construction of national image. The results indicate that the corpus is most rich in judgmental attitude resources, primarily realized through vocabulary, syntax, and rhetorical expressions. This suggests that spokespersons mainly express attitudinal tendencies through factual statements and enhance national discourse power with precise language control, reflecting the objectivity of the discourse and contributing to the audience’ s trust in the information

    Get PDF
Livestock farming is an effort to breed livestock to obtain benefits or results in the form of products and income. The success of a livestock business depends on three elements commonly referred to as the production triangle, namely seeds, feed, and management. In addition, the techno-socioeconomic characteristics of livestock farmers greatly influence the development of livestock businesses and will later affect the income of livestock farmers. The aim of the research was to examine the injection of the prostaglandin F2α hormone on the estrus response and pregnancy in Ongole crossbreed and Simental crossbreed cows reared using intensive and semi-intensive rearing systems. The data obtained will be analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there is a real effect, continue with further testing with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results of research on the percentage of estrus after the first and second injection of the prostaglandin hormone can be seen in the table. The highest percentage of estrus was in the S1P2 treatment with a percentage value of 80% and the lowest percentage value was in the S2P1 and S2P2 treatments with a percentage value of 40%. The percentage of estrus after the second injection, the percentage value for all treatments increased and the percentage of estrus was highest in the S1P2 treatment with a value of 100%. The average value of onset of estrus after the second injection of the PGF2α hormone was lower than the first injection. The longest duration of estrus in the treatment after the first PGF2α hormone injection was in the S1P2 treatment with an average of 24.75 hours, while the longest duration of estrus in the treatment after the second PGF2α hormone injection was in the S2P1 treatment with an average of 25 hours. PO cattle and Simental crossbreeds injected with PGF2α gave no different estrous responses. Intensive and semi-intensive rearing systems provide no different estrous responses. Raising PO cows using a semi-intensive rearing system injected with PGF2α provides an estrous response and high pregnancy rates (60), to be one of techniques to breed cattle of PO cow and have good impact to the success of a livestock busines

Human Existence as Caliph and Implementation of Islamic Education

    Get PDF
This article aims to examine more deeply the essence of humanity in Islamic education. In its study, this paper uses the literature study method, namely studying human essence from primary sources of the Islamic religion such as the Al-Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet. Education that ignores the goals, functions, and tasks of human creation from the concept of Islamic education is a concrete form of distance from Islamic educational practices. This article concludes that human existence is a combination of physical elements and spiritual elements or between material elements and immaterial elements, the elements of body, mind and spirit are a unity that cannot be separated. Since the time of creation, humans have been equipped by God with the potential to be "knowledgeable" or "knowledgeable". The potential for science or knowledge is what then differentiates humans from other creatures. Because of this potential, he became a noble creature and had more value, so he was appointed caliph on earth. From an educational perspective, the Qur'an provides a picture that humans are pedagogical creatures, namely creatures who have the potential to be taught and educated, which in the context of this verse is symbolized by Allah's teaching to Adam about the names of all objects. Thus, education is a necessary process for humans to guide, direct and actualize the potential that exists in humans

    Get PDF
Practical assessment in Physical Education is one of the most crucial ways of measuring student’s physical ability. This study examined the influence of leg length and body weight on exercise intensity during a 3-minute step test, addressing a gap in fitness assessment practices that often overlook individual physical differences. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of leg length and body weight on exercise intensity to promote safety measures in practical assessment of Physical Education. Employing a descriptive correlational design, the research analyzed data from 167 college students in Gingoog City, Philippines, using descriptive statistics, frequency distribution, and regression analysis. The findings revealed leg length and body weight have significant influence on the outcome variables. The study concludes that both leg length and body weight significantly influenced exercise intensity, necessitating a re-evaluation of fitness testing methods to account for these individual differences. This result suggests that physical educators, sports coaches, and fitness instructors may consider leg length and weight in fitness assessments and training programs, advocating for personalized approaches to ensure equitable and safe physical fitness evaluation practices

Assessing Stress Levels and Coping Strategies in the New Normal among Students of Magsaysay College

    Get PDF
The primary objective of this study was to assess stress levels and analyze coping strategies among Magsaysay College students. Utilizing a descriptive correlational research design, the study explored the relationship between students' demographic profiles, including age, gender, marital status, year level, family income, and reported stress levels. It also examined the correlation between stress levels and the use of coping strategies. The research concluded that demographic factors do not have a significant impact on stress levels among students and that stress is a ubiquitous challenge for students across different backgrounds. Interestingly, there is a slight negative correlation between family income and stress levels among students; this relationship is not statistically significant. This suggests that students show resilience and do not let the challenges of lower family income escalate their stress levels appreciably. A positive correlation was identified between stress levels and the employment of coping strategies, indicating that students tend to rely more on coping mechanisms as stress levels increase. It was recommended that Magsaysay College’s Guidance Center enhance its mental health support services by providing more resources, educational programs, and online counseling on effective coping strategies. Local Government Unit (LGU) of Magsaysay and other stakeholders are advised to collaborate on community-based support programs and invest in mental health initiatives to bolster the well-being of the students. Such collaborative efforts could significantly contribute to a more supportive learning environment, fostering students' academic success and personal growth
