The Relationship Between Learning Motivation and Academic Achievement of Grade VIII Students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year
This research aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and the learning achievement of class VIII UPTD students at SMPN 16 Kupang for the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is a type of quantitative research. The variables in the research are the independent variable (X) learning motivation and the dependent variable (Y) learning achievement. The sample in this study consisted of 60 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang for the 2024/2025 academic year. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Pearson correlation technique and processed using the SPSS version 24 for Windows application. The results of data analysis show a correlation coefficient of 0.412** and significance of 0.004<0.05. The results of research data analysis show that there is a relationship between learning motivation and student learning achievement at a moderate level, because the correlation coefficient value obtained is 0.412** in the coefficient interval of 0.40-0.599. Furthermore, the level of moderate relationship between learning motivation and student learning achievement can be explained based on the results of the determination test which shows that the contribution of the learning motivation variable is 17% to student learning achievement.
 
Implementation of Story Mapping Strategy to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text
This research aimed to improve eighth-grade students’ understanding of narrative text using the Story Mapping Strategy at SMP PAB 8 Sampali. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles that included planning, execution, observation, and reflection phases. Data collection methods comprised multiple-choice assessments, observation checklists, interviews, documentation, and field notes. Findings indicated consistent improvement in students’ reading comprehension throughout the process, with average scores rising from 42.32 on the pre-test to 64.82 after the first cycle and reaching 83.04 following the second cycle. The use of the Story Mapping Strategy proved effective in aiding students to identify the main ideas and supporting details within narrative texts, while also fostering increased participation in the classroom. Consequently, this approach can be regarded as both engaging and successful in advancing students’ understanding of narrative reading material
Overcoming the challenges of English vocabulary learning for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through the development of virtual reality technology
The use of Virtual Reality for students with special needs, such as ASD, provides a fairer opportunity for them to develop in learning foreign language vocabulary, in this case English. The research method applied was Human-Centered Design, carried out through stages such as: Context of Use Analysis, User Needs Analysis, Solution Design, and Solution Evaluation. The results of the study, after conducting trials with ASD students, produced a product specification in the form of a VR-based English vocabulary learning application for ASD children, featuring basic vocabulary content, simple navigation, ASD-friendly design, and progress tracking support for teachers/therapists. Furthermore, the validation of the developed Virtual Reality technology, based on assessments from media experts, content experts, and therapists, was declared Highly Valid. This conclusion was drawn from the results of the validity questionnaires given to the experts, as well as from the vocabulary mastery of ASD students after learning English using the developed Virtual Reality technology—showing that they were able to pronounce and articulate the vocabulary correctly, as well as recall the English words of the observed objects.

Indonesian EFL Teachers’ Conceptions of Critical Thinking: Challenges, Strategies, and Implications for 21st-Century Education
Critical thinking (CT) has been widely recognized as a core 21st-century competency that equips learners to analyze, evaluate, and create knowledge rather than merely reproduce it. In the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context, particularly in Indonesia, the integration of CT into classroom practices remains complex due to curricular, pedagogical, and systemic constraints. This study aimed to investigate Indonesian EFL teachers’ conceptions of CT, the challenges they face in integrating it into classroom instruction, and the strategies they adopt to promote it. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected from thirty-two senior high school EFL teachers through questionnaires and follow-up semi-structured interviews with eight participants. The findings revealed that while teachers generally acknowledged CT as essential for fostering problem-solving and independent learning, their understandings were fragmented and often reduced to surface-level interpretations. Teachers reported limited training, lack of clear assessment tools, and exam-oriented systems as significant obstacles, though some implemented strategies such as debates, case studies, and project-based learning. The study underscores the need for sustained professional development, curricular alignment, and institutional support to enable teachers to embed CT more systematically in EFL classrooms
The influence of the role-playing method and the presentation method on the speaking ability of fifth grade students at SDN 14 Batarang, Maiwa District, Enrekang Regency
This study aims to determine the effect of the role playing and presentation methods on the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 14 Batarang, Maiwa District, Enrekang Regency. The research used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The independent variables in this study are the role playing method (X1) and the presentation method (X2), while the dependent variable is speaking ability (Y). The subjects were 10 students. The instrument used was a speaking skills test administered before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using normality tests and paired sample t-tests.
The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking skills after the application of role playing, presentation, and the combination of both methods. The average pretest score of 49.80 increased to 78.70 after role playing, 80.70 after presentation, and 84.00 after the combination. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value (Sig.) < 0.05 for all treatments, indicating that the differences between pretest and posttest scores were statistically significant. The combination method produced the highest and most consistent improvement in students' speaking performance.It can be concluded that both the role playing and presentation methods, whether applied separately or in combination, have a positive effect on improving students’ speaking abilities. The combined approach is considered the most effective in enhancing students’ confidence, expression, and structured speaking skills. 
The Effect of Problem-Based Learning Models on Students' Science Process Skills and Critical Thinking Skills SDN 10 Sidomulio Sei Balai Regency Batu Bara
The study aims to analyze the differences in the influence of problem-based learning models with conventional learning on students' science process skills, analyze the differences in the influence of problem-based learning models with conventional learning on students' critical thinking skills, analyze the interaction between learning and students' initial abilities on students' science process skills, and analyze the interaction between learning and students' initial abilities on students' critical thinking skills at SD Negeri 10 Sidomulio Sei Balai, Batu Bara Regency. The research method is an experiment with a 2x3 ANOVA design. The study population was fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Sidomulio Sei Balai, Batu Bara Regency. The research sample was determined using a cluster random sampling technique so that a sample of 56 students was obtained. Data collection techniques were tests and non-tests. The instruments used were tests of students' science process skills and critical thinking skills in science. The data analysis technique was ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) by comparing the learning outcomes of students in each class. The results of the study concluded that there were differences in students' science process skills using the PBL learning model with students' science process skills using conventional learning. There were differences in students' critical thinking skills using the PBL learning model with students' critical thinking skills using conventional learning. There is an interaction between learning and prior abilities on students' science process skills. There is an interaction between learning and prior abilities on students' critical thinking skills
Building students' creative characters through the Pancasila student profile strengthening project activities at SMPN 49 Palembang
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project in building the creative character of students at SMPN 49 Palembang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population in this study is all students of SMPN 49 Palembang with a total of 257 students with a sample of 152 people. In this study, the sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique of propostionate stratified random sampling with the basis of a theory developed by Isaac and Michael. Data collection techniques use dokumentation, questionnaires, and interviews. Based on data analysis and discussion, it was concluded that the effectiveness of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project in building the creative character of students at SMPN 49 Palembang was categorized as moderate. This is known based on the results of the questionnaire data, namely as many as 9 (5.95%) respondents have a relatively not good level of effectiveness, 105 (69.08%) respondents have a relatively pretty good level of effectiveness, and as many as 38 (50%) respondents have a relatively good effectiveness category
Peran Pustakawan dalam Program Transformasi Perpustakaan Berbasis Inklusi Sosial di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan
This study aims to determine the role of librarians in the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program (TPBIS) in South Sulawesi. This study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 10 librarians who were regional facilitators in South Sulawesi. The results of the study indicate that the role of librarians as regional facilitators The role of librarians as regional facilitators in South Sulawesi is to implement program strategies in district/city public libraries and also to provide assistance and mentoring to village/sub-district libraries in ensuring the implementation of the TPBIS program. Internal challenges faced by librarians are human resources, budget, facilities and infrastructure, leadership support and the impact of TPBIS activities. Meanwhile, the challenges for librarians in mentoring village/sub-district libraries are communication factors, commitment and motivation of library managers, and support from village/sub-district heads. The librarian's strategies in overcoming these challenges are to conduct advocacy, promotion, meetings, and demonstrate the impact of the program. The impact of the role of librarians as regional facilitators is the development of librarians' self-capacity, a positive image of the librarian profession, a paradigm change towards libraries, and increased public literacy
Analisis Sitiran Skripsi Mahasiswa Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam Tahun 2021-2024 di UIN Datokarama Palu
Kajian mengenai sitiran dalam karya ilmiah memiliki peran penting untuk melihat kecenderungan penggunaan sumber informasi oleh mahasiswa, sekaligus menggambarkan pola pemanfaatan literatur dalam proses akademik. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola sitiran pada skripsi mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Islam Tahun 2021–2024 di UIN Datokarama Palu. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis bibliometrika. Populasi kajian mencakup seluruh skripsi mahasiswa pada rentang tahun tersebut dengan sampel sebanyak 54 skripsi. Data diperoleh melalui teknik dokumentasi dan dianalisis menggunakan rumus persentase sederhana. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat 15 pengarang yang paling sering disitir, dengan Sugiyono menempati urutan pertama sebesar 20,06%. Dari total 1.587 sitiran, buku merupakan sumber yang paling dominan dengan 873 sitiran (55,01%), sedangkan bidang perpustakaan merupakan yang paling banyak disitir yaitu 133 kali (8,38%). Tingkat keusangan literatur rata-rata adalah 12 tahun, dengan dokumen berusia 0–12 tahun dikategorikan mutakhir. Temuan ini dapat dijadikan dasar dalam pengembangan kebijakan layanan koleksi perpustakaan, mendukung sistem temu kembali informasi, serta menunjukkan peran analisis sitiran dalam menghubungkan kata kunci dokumen dengan strategi penelusuran berbantuan komputer untuk mempermudah akses literatur yang releva
Inovasi dan Kreativitas Pustakawan dalam Layanan Literasi Informasi Layak Anak di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Enrekang
Informasi layak anak merupakan salah satu indikator yang harus dipenuhi dalam mewujudkan kabupaten/kota layak anak yang terkait dengan fungsi perpustakaan sebagai pusat literasi dan informasi. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bentuk inovasi dan kreativitas pustakawan dalam layanan literasi informasi layak anak di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Enrekang dan kontribusinya dalam meningkatkan minat dan pemanfaatan layanan perpustakaan oleh anak-anak di Kabupaten Enrekang. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan transdisiplin. Bentuk inovasi dan kreativitas pustakawan yaitu menyediakan fasilitas dan layanan berupa program atau kegiatan literasi menarik yang layak anak untuk memenuhi hak anak atas akses informasi. Pustakawan berinovasi dan berkreativitas dalam pengembangan koleksi, menciptakan desain interior dan eksterior, peningkatan kualifikasi SDM pada layanan anak, dan melakukan kegiatan kolaborasi. Inovasi dan kreativitas pustakawan memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan jumlah, keragaman pemustaka dan kepuasan pemustaka serta penyebaran pemanfaatan layanan literasi informasi layak anak meskipun belum merata di Kabupaten Enrekang. Beragam inovasi dan kreativitas pustakawan, berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan minat kunjung, keragaman pemustaka dan kepuasan pemustaka serta pemanfaatan layanan perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan evaluasi bagi pustakawan dalam menyediakan fasilitas dan mengembangkan layanan literasi informasi layak anak dan sebagai dasar bagi pemerintah daerah mengambil kebijakan untuk mengatasi kendala dalam mengembangkan perpustakaan sebagai pusat informasi menuju KLA di Kabupaten Enrekang
