Transforming Lecturer Identity: Exploring the Emotional and Professional Impact of Teaching on Novice Lecturers in Early Career Academia
This study investigates the emotional and professional impacts of teaching on novice lecturers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Enrekang, focusing on the process of identity transformation. New lecturers face numerous emotional and professional challenges, including stress, role ambiguity, and feelings of isolation, particularly during the initial years of teaching. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews with 22 novice lecturers from various academic disciplines to gain insights into their experiences. The study found that institutional support, particularly mentorship from the Chair of the Department and peer collaboration, plays a crucial role in helping lecturers navigate these challenges and develop a professional identity. Although the institution provides some support, findings suggest that more structured mentorship and additional resources are necessary to support novice lecturers better. The study contributes to existing literature on the identity formation of novice lecturers, especially in non-Western academic settings, and highlights the need for tailored support strategies that address the specific challenges faced by new faculty members. These insights are valuable for improving institutional practices and enhancing novice lecturers' professional satisfaction and development
Empiricism and Rationalism: Two Poles in the Search for the Truth of Knowledge
Artikel ini membahas dua aliran besar dalam epistemologi, yakni empirisme dan rasionalisme, sebagai dua kutub utama dalam upaya manusia memahami dan memperoleh pengetahuan yang benar. Empirisme menekankan bahwa semua pengetahuan berasal dari pengalaman inderawi dan observasi langsung, sedangkan rasionalisme meyakini bahwa akal dan penalaran logis merupakan dasar utama bagi pengetahuan yang sahih dan universal. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi pustaka, artikel ini mengeksplorasi sejarah, prinsip dasar, tokoh utama, serta kontribusi masing-masing aliran terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun keduanya tampak berseberangan, sintesis antara empirisme dan rasionalisme justru melahirkan fondasi yang kokoh bagi metodologi ilmiah modern. Dalam praktik ilmiah kontemporer, penggabungan antara teori rasional dan verifikasi empiris menjadi pendekatan paling efektif dalam menguji dan memvalidasi kebenaran. Dengan demikian, pemahaman terhadap kedua pendekatan epistemologis ini tidak hanya penting dalam diskursus filsafat ilmu, tetapi juga krusial dalam pengembangan cara berpikir kritis dan reflektif di era informasi saat ini
Analisis Hermeneutika Nilai Kekeluargaan dalam Buku Nak,Kamu ngga Papa, Kan? Karya Mas Koko Ganteng
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai kekeluargaan yang terkandung dalam buku Nak, kamu ngga papa,kan karya Mas koko ganteng melalui pendekatan hermeneutika.Buku ini mengisahkan tentang dinamika keluarga dengan berbagai konflik tokoh dalam melalui tantangan yang dihadapinya.Dalam analisis in,,pendekatan hermeneutika digunakan untuk menafsirkan lebih dalam terkait makna dari narasi disajikan,terutama mengenai konsep nilai kekeluargaan,hubungan antar anggota keluarga dan nilai-nilai yang dibangun dalam proses komunikasi dari pemahaman bersama.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh melalui 3 tahap : membaca dengan teliti buku nak,kamu ngga papa,kan ,serta mencatat poin-poin penting yang relevan dengan topik penelitian,kemudian data dianalisis dengan teori hermeneutika eksistensial Martin Heidegger. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa buku ini menggambarkan pentingnya empati,konunikasi,dan pengertian dalam memperkuat ikatan keluarga,serta bagaimana konflik dan perbedaan dapat menjadi bagian dari proses pertumbuhan keluarga.Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman lebih dalam mengenai nilai kekeluargaan dalam sastra,serta relevansinya dalam konteks kehidupan sosial masyarakat Indonesi
Analisis Pengaruh Aliran-Aliran Filsafat pada Kehidupan Sehari-Hari
Filsafat merupakan disiplin ilmu yang telah berkembang sejak masa lampau dan menawarkan beragam pendekatan dalam menafsirkan kenyataan, keberadaan, serta nilai kehidupan. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi dampak dari lima aliran filsafat utama yaitu empirisme, rasionalisme, eksistensialisme, pragmatisme, dan postmodernisme dalam konteks kehidupan manusia sehari-hari. Penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, mengkaji penerapan praktis dan konseptual aliran-aliran tersebut dalam bidang pendidikan, etika, komunikasi, serta pengambilan keputusan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran filsafat membentuk pola pikir dan memengaruhi sikap serta tindakan manusia dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Dengan demikian, pemahaman filosofis terbukti memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk individu yang kritis, reflektif, dan mampu beradaptasi terhadap kompleksitas sosial modern
Menelusuri Konsep Language, Langue, Parole, Verbal repertoir, dan tingkatan sosial masyarakat
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang bagaimana bahasa digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta bagaimana bahasa dapat mencerminkan status sosial dan hubungan kekuasaan di antara anggota masyarakat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh yaitu dengan meliputi baca, catat, dan studi pustaka, dengan instrumen utama adalah penulis sebagai peneliti. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa bahasa memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan manusia, tidak hanya sebagai alat komunikasi tetapi juga sebagai refleksi dari nilai, budaya, dan struktur sosial dalam masyarakat. Melalui kajian sosiolinguistik, dapat dipahami bahwa bahasa bukan hanya sarana komunikasi tetapi juga alat yang mencerminkan serta membentuk identitas sosial dan relasi kekuasaan. Oleh karena itu, memahami bagaimana bahasa digunakan dalam masyarakat dapat membantu dalam menganalisis dinamika sosial, serta bagaimana bahasa dapat menjadi sarana untuk memperjuangkan keadilan sosial
Peran Filsafat dalam Membentuk Tujuan Pendidikan Nasional
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeriksa kontribusi filosofi idealis terhadap manajemen dan tujuan pendidikan nasional di Indonesia melalui metode penelitian sastra. Dengan memeriksa berbagai sumber teks seperti karya -karya filsafat idealisme, terutama Immanuel Kant, serta peraturan dan kebijakan pendidikan nasional seperti memperkuat pendidikan karakter (PPK), penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa idealisme memberikan dasar filosofis yang kuat dalam membentuk nilai -nilai pendidikan, tujuan dan peran pendidikan. Idealisme, mempertimbangkan ide dan nilai -nilai sebagai realitas tertinggi, tercermin dalam suara yang ditempatkan di pejabat utama, peran sentral guru dan upaya untuk membentuk kepribadian siswa. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan tantangan dalam implementasi nilai -nilai idealisme ketika dihadapkan dengan realitas praktis sistem pendidikan modern. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan selalu dalam mantra dialektik antara standar ideal dan batasan penuh, mencerminkan dinamisme antara aspirasi filosofis dan realitas politik

This study examines the effectiveness of Nearpod-based learning media in enhancing the biology learning outcomes of 11th-grade students at UPT SMA Negeri 10 Sidenreng Rappang. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest format. The sample consisted of 45 students who participated in the study. Data were collected using pretests and posttests to assess the students' understanding of the biology concepts, particularly in the topic of respiratory systems. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as evidenced by an increase in average test scores from 43.12 in the pretest to 81.75 in the posttest. This indicates that Nearpod, as an interactive learning platform, has a positive effect on students' engagement and comprehension, making it a valuable tool in modern educational settings. The study recommends integrating technology-based media, such as Nearpod, in the teaching and learning process to foster better learning experiences and outcomes for students
The Implementation of the Storytelling Method Using Digital Media to Increase Reading Interest
This study aims to improve the reading interest of students at Sanggar Belajar Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, through the implementation of the storytelling method using digital media. The research was conducted using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 20 student participants. The results showed a significant increase in students' reading interest after the application of digital-based storytelling. In the pre-action phase, most students were in the low or poor reading interest category, with a percentage of 47%. However, after the first session of digital storytelling in Cycle I, there was an increase, with the average percentage rising to 62.1%. Further improvement was recorded during the second session of Cycle I, where all students' reading interest reached the “very good” category, with an average percentage of 87.4%. Moreover, students’ responses to the effectiveness of the digital storytelling method showed that it was highly effective in increasing reading interest, with 82.1% of students rating it as “very effective.” Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the storytelling method using digital media is highly effective in enhancing the reading interest of students at Sanggar Belajar Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
A Comparative of Physical and Digital Flash Card in Vocabulary Mastery at SMP Negeri 1 Baranti
This study compares the effectiveness of physical and digital flashcards in English vocabulary mastery at SMP Negeri 1 Baranti. The research employs a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design to measure students' vocabulary comprehension improvement after using both types of flashcards. The sample consists of eighth-grade students divided into two groups, each using either physical or digital flashcards as learning media. The results indicate that digital flashcards are more effective in improving post-test scores compared to physical flashcards. However, based on a questionnaire given to students, most preferred physical flashcards due to their visually engaging appearance and better focus during use. On the other hand, digital flashcards provide advantages in accessibility and audio features that aid pronunciation learning.
The study concludes that digital flashcards significantly enhance students' vocabulary mastery, yet student preferences still lean toward physical flashcards. The findings provide insights for educators in selecting appropriate learning media that align with students' needs and preferences to optimize English language teaching effectiveness
The Relationship between Maternal Knowledge and the Incidence of Temper Tantrums in Toddlers at the Patumbak Health Center in 2024
Understanding child development is an important aspect that parents must have to optimize child development. Lack of stimulation from parents can cause developmental delays in children. Temper tantrums are unpleasant and disturbing emotional outbursts. The consequences of temper tantrums, for example, a child who vents his frustration by rolling on a hard floor, can cause the child to become injured, venting his anger by hitting his head against the wall, pulling out his hair, and endangering people around him. Temper tantrums can hurt a child’s development, especially if not handled properly. This research aims to determine “The correlation between maternal knowledge and the incidence of temper tantrums in toddlers at the Patumbak Community Health Center in 2024”. This research was quantitative analytical research using cross-sectional analysis. Held from February to March 2024 in the Patumbak Community Health Center working area in 2024. The population was 120 people, and the sample size was 55 using the accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire, and univariate data processing is presented in the form of a frequency distribution table followed by bivariate analysis using SPSS vs 25, then presented descriptively and analytically through statistical tests. The survey results showed that the majority of mothers’ knowledge about temper tantrums in toddler-aged children at the Patumbak Community Health Center was 21 people (38.2%) with poor knowledge, 19 people (34.5%) with sufficient knowledge, and 15 people (27.3%) with good knowledge. From the results of the chi-square test, the value P (0.000) < (0.05) was obtained, which concluded that there was a correlation between maternal knowledge and the incidence of temper tantrums in toddlers at the Patumbak Community Health Center.
