Spiritual assistance as a contributor to the elderly life.
Demographic change in the population is one of the most important issues in health policy and gerontology. With increasing longevity in modern society, the mental health of the elderly is no less important than a quality treatment service. However, too little attention is still paid to spiritual assistance as a helping factor in meeting the needs of the elderly in Lithuanian social institutions and home help systems. The topic of spiritual assistance services has not been developed by Lithuanian authors so far. The work theoretically considers what forms of spiritual assistance services would contribute to the maintenance of mental health, independence, social and physical activity of the elderly. The actualization of the spiritual assistance concept can help fill in the missing information. An overview of the models of spiritual assistance as a theoretical basis can be useful for those working in the field of pastoral and gerontological social work. The analysis of the scientific literature confirms that spirituality and religiosity have a direct impact on the health of the elderly, therefore spiritual assistance as an aid to the elderly in meeting biological, psychological and social needs is an important factor. Spiritual assistance emphasizes a holistic approach to the person and includes complex assistance not only to the elderly but also to their loved ones, as successful aging is possible only by acting on the whole complex of personal needs. The application of theoretical models of spiritual assistance would help older people to integrate more into society, to solve emerging difficulties and improve their psychosocial functioning. Spiritual assistance can also be considered as teaching the principles of spiritual nursing, pointed at institutional employees providing social services - social workers or nurses
Переключение кодов в компьютерно-опосредованной коммуникации.
Most authors admit that code-switching is the process of switching different languages, their varieties, speaking styles, etc. Today, the majority of people in the world are multilingual and often mix languages in different ways, which makes code-switching a quite common global phenomenon. Code-switching incorporates government, cultural, religious and network contexts, and the frequency of code-switching in such multilingual conversations is an indicator of the global dominance of multilingualism. Online communication fosters social communicative practices consisting of code- switching and marks the development of verbal behaviour of multilingual communities. Code-switching also affects language visuality, its images are tools for the social construction of reality. The developed verbal practices support effective communication and affect the expression of new meanings. The article aims at presenting the features of code-switching in digital communication with 8 examples of different length, topic and author, in which the native Lithuanians code-switched to English and used elements of the Internet language. These examples were taken from the social networks Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, and the authors analyzed the grammar, spelling and punctuation of both Lithuanian and the English words, the type and use of the code-switched English elements, special characters, abbreviations, emoji and other features of the Internet language. The results show that online communication is not entirely textual, with various means of text composition communicators make their code-switched English elements more visible and alter the appearance of messages. Such practices correspond to the features of social networks and seem to follow the popular Internet culture trends

Results: Environmental impacts are: chemical pollutants such as heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn, Mg), methane gas, H2S, CO, microorganisms such as Coliform, Clostridia perfringens (Veillon & Zuber 1898, and Hauduroy et al. 1937), Shygella dysenteriae (Shiga, 1897, and Castellani & Chalmers 1919). While the health effects are the symptoms of skin irritation, eye irritation, gastro intestinal tract disorders, allergies, nasal irritation, and other symptoms. While the risk of cancer is very low risk
University – industry interaction on knowledge management through open innovation systems /
This theoretical paper discusses knowledge management in an open innovation systems context on a basis of university – industry collaboration. Knowledge management is necessary to ensure the inbound and outbound flows of knowledge that define open innovation, and to ensure that the knowledge, provided by the open innovation process ,can be used for successful collaboration between universities and industry. The importance of knowledge is emphasized in the literature on open innovation, but most modern literature takes only a narrow point of view on the problem and is not related to knowledge management through inter-institutional collaboration. The paper discusses the General framework conditions for efficient university-industry collaboration and in this context, it outlines the Systematic procedure of open innovation implementation. The main outlined knowledge flows in networking shows a combination of a positive and neutral effect on the effectiveness of innovation at the level of business units, which means that open innovation within the network is generally beneficial for a multidisciplinary organization as well as Incoming innovations across organizational boundaries are beneficial for the innovation activity of a business unit, in contrast to outgoing innovations that have a neutral effect on it. The ability of organization to recognize the value of new external information, absorb and apply it for commercial purposes is crucial for its innovative potential. The creation of knowledge and the ability to master can be created without a special R&D unit in university - joint research and development can be fruitful, and trade areas can provide the opportunity for training and joint acquisition of new knowledge
Technical and economic analysis of municipal solid waste potential for waste to energy plant (case study: Jatibarang Landfill Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia) /
Municipal solid waste (MSW) is still a serious problem in Indonesia. As well as following up on the Indonesian Government's commitment to reduce carbon emissions, a Presidential decree Perpres Number 18 of 2016 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of Waste-Based Power Plants was made. It is expected that the construction of Waste-Based Power Plants from landfills can reduce the budget deficit in handling municipal waste while maintaining environmental preservation. This research calculates the potential of landfill gas that can be produced from the landfill waste dumps of Jatibarang, as well as the capacity of electrical energy that can be produced. Furthermore, with several types of plant scenarios used, it can be seen the economic feasibility of the construction of a Waste Based Power Plant in Jatibarang landfill. The landfill gas potential and economic feasibility for this study are calculated using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Inventory Software and LFG-CostWeb from LandGEM. The results showed that only from the electricity sale Standard Reciprocating Engine-Generator Set project may generate a break even in the 6 yr after the operation begins and value of the net present value is USD 755 664 for 15 yr project lifetime
Vertical distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the brackish sea water column: ex situ experiment /
Background Oil spills can cause severe damage within a marine ecosystem. Following a spill, the soluble fraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is rapidly released into the water column. These remain dissolved in seawater over an extended period of time, even should the insoluble fraction be removed. The vertical distribution of the aromatic hydrocarbon component and how these become transferred is poorly understood in brackish waters. This study examines the vertical distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons having been released from a controlled film of spilled oil onto the surface of brackish water. Methods The study was undertaken under controlled conditions so as to minimize the variability of environmental factors such as temperature and hydrodynamics. The distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was measured in the dissolved and suspended phases throughout the 1 m water column with different intensity of water sampling: 1, 2, 4, 7, 72, 120, 336, 504 and 984 h. Results The total concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons ranged from 19.01 to 214.85 ng L–1 in the dissolved phase and from 5.14 to 63.92 ng L–1 in the suspended phase. These hydrocarbons were released immediately following a controlled spill attaining 214.9 ng L–1 in the dissolved phase and 54.4 ng L–1 in the suspended phase near the cylinder bottom after 1–2 h. The 2–3 ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons dominated in the dissolved phase (60–80%), whereas the greater amount of 4–6 ring polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (55–90%) occurred in the suspended phase. A relatively low negative correlation (rS = –0.41) was determined between the concentration of phenanthrene and suspended matter, whereas a high negative correlation (r = − 0.79) was found between the concentration of pyrene and suspended matter. Despite the differences in the relationships between the concentration ratio and amount of suspended matter the obtained regressions allow roughly to predict the concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

Challenges and opportunities for seafarer training in the context of a modernizing the maritime industry: the research overview.
The aim of this article is to analyze and systematize the research examining the process of training seafarers, in a time when the rapidly modernizing maritime industry presupposes the need for educational transformation change. The analysis of the research reveals that some research on this topic focuses more on the development of autonomous vessels, presents the idea of the Shore Control Center, where operators will manage autonomous vessels. Other researchers emphasize the importance of social skills and emotional intelligence in the process of training seafarers. The training of seafarers is a long-term process in which the harmonization of educational paradigms, based on values, comprehensively covering the formation of personality traits, general competencies, professional knowledge and skills, would create preconditions for the training of highly qualified seafarers
The historical terminology of traditional musical instruments and the music-making process.
The article is intended as a presentation and investigation of the historical terminology of traditional Lithuanian musical instruments, details of their construction, and their music-making features. The research material was collected after reviewing Lithuanian ethnomusicological literature from the end of the 19th century to the first decades of the 20th century, in order to find the earliest descriptions in the field of actual terminology. Most attention is paid to the historical works of Mikas Petrauskas (1873–1937), Pranas Puskunigis (1860–1946), Justinas Strimaitis (1895–1960), Mykolas Biržiška (1882–1922), Adolfas Sabaliauskas (1873–1950), and Teodoras Brazys (1870–1930). In this respect, traditional Lithuanian musical instruments are not studied in a systematic way, so the facts presented in this article supplement the work by the contemporary ethnomusicologists and ethno-instrumentologists Romualdas Apanavičius, Marija Baltrėnienė, Gaila Kirdienė, Vida Palubinskienė, Algirdas Vyžintas, Rūta Žarskienė, and others
The therapeutic activities of priests -vaidilu čiai , and traces of these activities in 19th to 21st - century folk medicine. Part I.
According to 15th to 18th-century written sources, priests-vaidilučiai, successors to the servants of the pre-Christian religion, performed various duties, including therapeutic activities. The descriptions in sources indicate that the nature of the therapeutic assistance they provided varied according to the magic activity they performed. The healing activities of vaidilučiai have not been systematically studied. This article analyses data on the therapeutic activities of different groups of vaidilučiai in 15th to 18th-century written sources, and identifies traces of these activities in 19th to 21st-century folk medicine based on archival records and the author’s healing faith records. The research helps us to trace the meaning and origins of some therapeutic methods of folk medicine, and the possible development of traditions
