Ongoing Research Programs: Questions of Methods and LexiconFor several years, the archaeology of contemporary conflicts has established itself as a dynamic and ever-evolving field of research. The conferences held in Verdun (2018) and Caen (2019) provided a comprehensive overview of these studies in France and beyond, while the meetings in Bordeaux (2022) marked the development of new research programs and enriched discussions on the specific methods and vocabulary of this discipline.For the Île-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions, the Collective Research Program (PCR) launched in 2020, supported by the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by Gwénaël Mercé (Inrap), has set several objectives, including: The systematic standardized inventory of contemporary martial remains; The development of thematic research; The deepening of investigations into archival collections; The integration of this data into a GIS.In the same vein, new regional programs have emerged in recent years (prospection-inventory, PCR), notably in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire.This study day, organized by the PCR "Archaeology of Contemporary Conflicts in the Île-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire Regions," aims to: Present the results of its research; Facilitate discussions on work conducted in other regions; Focus specifically on issues of vocabulary, which represent a cross-cutting challenge for territories and institutions.Depuis plusieurs années, l’archéologie des conflits contemporains s’est affirmée comme un champ de recherche dynamique et en constante évolution. Les colloques de Verdun (2018) et Caen (2019) ont permis de dresser un vaste état des lieux de ces études, en France et au-delà, tandis que les rencontres de Bordeaux (2022) ont acté du développement de nouveaux programmes de recherches et enrichi les échanges sur les méthodes et le vocabulaire spécifiques à cette discipline.Pour les régions Île-de-France et Centre-Val de Loire, le Programme collectif de recherche (PCR) lancé en 2020, soutenu par le ministère de la Culture et coordonné par Gwénaël Mercé (Inrap),s’est fixé, entre autres objectifs, l’inventaire normalisé systématique des vestiges martiaux contemporains, le développement de recherches thématiques, l’approfondissement des investigations dans les fonds d’archives ou encore l’intégration de ces données dans un SIG.Dans cette même dynamique, de nouveaux programmes régionaux ont émergé ces dernières années (prospection-inventaire, PCR), notamment en Nouvelle-Aquitaine et Pays de la Loire.Cette journée d’étude, organisée par le PCR « Archéologie des conflits contemporains en régions Île-de-France et Centre-Val de Loire », propose : la présentation des résultats de ses recherches ; des échanges autour de travaux issus d’autres régions ; un focus particulier sur les questions de vocabulaire, qui constituent une problématique transversale aux territoires et aux institutions

No full textInternational audienceThis article presents the first lexical and semantic study of the Himaitic corpus, inaugurating a new series entitled “Himaitic lexical notes.” It offers a focused overview of four key semantic domains attested in Himaitic inscriptions: kinship and social relations; the natural world (animals, plants, and landscape); spatio-temporal orientation; and writing practices and media. While lexical isoglosses with Safaitic and Thamudic D are frequently observed, the Himaitic material is marked by distinctive thematic preferences, the use of rare or unique lexemes, and the absence of conventional inscriptional themes such as warfare and religious formulae. The study underscores the cultural and linguistic specificity of the Himaitic tradition and its significance within the broader Ancient North Arabian epigraphic landscape

Unsupervised Approach for Specialized Vocabulary Creation and Enrichment: A Case Study in the Multidisciplinary Building Sector
No full textThe exponential growth of digital information has exposed organizations to unprecedented challenges in managing and structuring their knowledge repositories. In the context of knowledge management, the ability to extract, organize, and use relevant information from large collections of documents has become a critical factor for operational efficiency and informed decision-making. However, identifying necessary knowledge sources and building appropriate knowledge bases represents a significant and time-consuming barrier. In this article, we address these challenges by leveraging advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, particularly in combination with Large Language Models (LLMs), to facilitate the selection of more representative keywords for the creation and enrichment of vocabularies for knowledge management purposes. We explore the application of clustering techniques combined with NLP-driven keyword extraction to support the construction of specialized vocabularies that address the multidisciplinary nature of the content at CSTB, a French scientific research center focused on building science. We applied a pipeline with two approaches for keyword extraction: document-based clustering and chunk-based clustering. We provide a detailed overview of the proposed pipeline, present the results of our experiments, and describe the human validation process used to evaluate these results
