Examination of sports injury anxiety levels and personality traits of students in secondary education institutions (aged 14-17) (the case of Bingöl province)
Spor, genç bireylerin fiziksel, sosyal ve psikolojik gelişiminde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Lise öğrencileri, spor faaliyetlerine aktif katılım gösterirken yaralanma riskine maruz kalmakta ve bu durum onların yaralanma kaygı düzeylerini etkileyebilmektedir. Aynı zamanda kişilik özellikleri, bu kaygı düzeylerinin şekillenmesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bingöl ilinde yer alan ortaöğretim kurumlarında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin spor yaralanması kaygı düzeylerinin ve kişilik özelliklerinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılan çalışma katılımcıların cinsiyet, branş, daha önce turnuvaya katılma, daha önce sporda yaralanma yaşama, anne, baba eğitim düzeyi ve sporda yaralanma olasılığı değişkenleri dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Genel tarama yöntemi kullanılarak yapılan çalışmada "Sporda Yaralanma Kaygı Ölçeği" ve "On Maddeli Kişilik Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim döneminde Bingöl ilinde yer alan Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı liselerde öğrenim gören 131 erkek 89 kadın olmak toplam 220 gönüllü öğrenci katılım sağlamıştır. Verilerin tanımlayıcı istatistiği ile iki ve ikiden fazla grupların karşılaştırılmasında sırasıyla t-Testi ve One Way ANOVA testleri SPSS 25.0 paket programı aracılığı ile yapılmış ve anlamlılık düzeyi p0.05). Daha önce sporda yaralanma yaşama durumu, cinsiyet, branş ve turnuva deneyimi yaşama değişkenlerine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Bireylerin yaralanma kaygılarının yalnızca ebeveyn eğitim düzeyiyle değil, spor eğitimi sürecinde verilen psikolojik destekle de ilişkili olabileceği düşünülmelidir. Bu nedenle, spora katılan öğrencilerin aile eğitim düzeyinden bağımsız olarak yaralanma kaygılarını azaltmaya yönelik rehberlik hizmetlerinin yaygınlaştırılması önerilebilir.Sports play a significant role in the physical, social, and psychological development of young individuals. High school students, while actively participating in sports activities, are exposed to the risk of injury, which can affect their levels of injury-related anxiety. At the same time, personality traits play an important role in shaping these anxiety levels. This study aimed to examine the injury anxiety levels and personality characteristics of students attending secondary education institutions in Bingöl province. The analysis considered variables such as participants' gender, sport branch, prior tournament participation, previous sports injury experience, parental education levels, and the likelihood of injury in sports. Employing a general screening method, the study utilized the "Sport Injury Anxiety Scale" and the "Ten-Item Personality Inventory." A total of 220 voluntary students (131 males and 89 females) enrolled in Ministry of National Education high schools in Bingöl during the 2023-2024 academic year participated in the research. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, and One-Way ANOVA tests were conducted using SPSS 25.0 software for comparisons between two or more groups, with a significance level set at p 0.05). However, significant differences were detected according to previous injury experience, gender, sport branch, and tournament participation variables. It should be considered that individuals' injury anxiety may be related not only to parental education levels but also to the psychological support provided during sports training. Therefore, it is recommended to expand guidance services aimed at reducing injury anxiety among students participating in sports, regardless of their family's educational background
Transdisciplinary Innovations in Athlete Health: 3D-Printable Wearable Sensors for Health Monitoring and Sports Psychology
The integration of 3D printing technology into wearable sensor systems has catalyzed a paradigm shift in sports psychology and athlete health monitoring by enabling real-time, personalized data collection on physiological and psychological states. In this study, not only is the technical potential of these advancements examined but their real-world applications in sports psychology are also critically assessed. While the existing research primarily focuses on sensor fabrication and data acquisition, a significant gap remains in the evaluation of their direct impact on decision-making processes in coaching, mental resilience, and long-term psychological adaptation in athletes. A critical analysis of the current state of 3D-printed wearable sensors is conducted, highlighting both their advantages and limitations. By combining theoretical insights with practical considerations, a comprehensive framework is established for understanding how sensor-based interventions can be effectively incorporated into sports training and psychological evaluation. Future research should prioritize longitudinal studies, athlete-centered validation, and interdisciplinary collaborations to bridge the gap between technological developments and real-world applications. Additionally, the integration of artificial intelligence and advanced biomaterials has significant potential to enhance the reliability and interpretability of sensor-driven interventions. However, without rigorous scientific validation, their effectiveness remains uncertain. This study highlights the importance of a systematic approach in implementing and evaluating 3D-printed wearable sensors in sports psychology
The Color of Sports in Autism from the Perspective of Physical Education Teachers
This study explores physical education teachers' perceptions and working experiences towards children with autism. The phenomenological qualitative research method was used in the study. Eleven physical education teachers participated in the study. Color metaphors and semi-structured interview question techniques were used to collect research data. In the findings obtained, being a teacher of children with autism was expressed with white color metaphors, being a teacher of children with autism was expressed with blue color metaphors, sports for children with autism was expressed with red color metaphors, families with children with autism were expressed with gray color metaphors, and in the analysis of semi-structured interviews, three main themes as field competence, social impact and development areas and eleven sub-themes related to them were formed. As a result, it was concluded that sports trainers have positive perceptions of children with ASD and that they have experiences that the sports pieces of training they implement have positive effects on these children
Estimation of Factors for Standardizing Lactations to Mature Equivalent of Simmental Cattle
This study determined correction factors that will use mature age equivalent in the Turkish Simmental cattle population. Across the country, 59247 lactation milk yield records of 28971 head of cows between 1990 and 2023 were used. Correction coefficients for milk yield according to maturity age were calculated by considering 22 different age groups and 4 seasonal groups. Cows calving in spring, summer, autumn, and winter reached their adult milk yield of 305 days at 64–66 months, 52–54 months, 58–60, and 37–39 months, respectively. Accordingly, the current results show that cows calving in autumn and winter reach mature age for 305-day milk yield earlier than those calving in spring and summer seasons. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved
Eco-friendly behavior as a moderator: How responsible leadership shapes environmental performance through organizational green culture in the hospitality industry?
This research examines the influence of responsible leadership on environmental performance and organizational green culture within the hospitality sector. In light of increasing environmental challenges, responsible leadership-defined by its stakeholder-oriented approach-has emerged as a critical driver of sustainable practices. The research tests a conceptual model using data from 572 employees and managers in four-and five-star hotels in Antalya, T & uuml;rkiye. Key hypotheses include the positive effects of responsible leadership on both environmental performance and organizational green culture. Additionally, this study investigates the mediating role of green culture and the moderating effect of employees' eco-friendly behavior. Results confirm that responsible leadership positively impacts environmental performance and green culture, with green culture partially mediating this relationship. Furthermore, eco-friendly behavior amplifies the influence of green culture on environmental outcomes. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating responsible leadership and cultivating a green organizational culture to enhance sustainability efforts. Practical implications for hospitality management include prioritizing sustainability-oriented leadership and fostering eco-conscious behaviors among employees. Future research may explore longitudinal data and expand the model to different cultural contexts
The Theorisation of Motion in Ibn Sina in the Context of the Relation Between Potentiality-Actuality
In the classical understanding of nature, entities in the physical realm are understood to be subject to change (taghayyur). In order to articulate this change, and to comprehend it,, explain the dynamism observed in the physical world, and comprehend it, concepts such as kawn (coming into existence), fasad (corruption), and motion, which is the focus of this study, have been employed. The concept of motion has been rubrik of tabi'iyyat (natural sciences) in the classification of classical philosophy, and perceptible (mahsus) bodies, due to their susceptibility to change, have been analyzed within the context of motion. Additionally, motion is considered the most general accident ('arad) of natural bodies. In this regard the types of bodies serve as the carriers of motion, the ontological character of the body determines the principles and types of motion, and aspects such as the mover, time, and space give rise to discussions on the possibility of motion. The issue of motion has been debated within the framework of these concepts and problems both in antiquity and Islamic philosophy. One of the most prominent scholars in Islamic philosophy who engaged with the idea of motion is Ibn Sina (Avicenna). In addressing the topic of tabi'iyyat, where he systematically examined physical issues following the hierarchical structure of philosophy, Ibn Sina discussed motion based on potentiality-actuality-perfection (quwwa-fi'l-kamal). Grounding all observable changes in this philosophical framework, he defined motion, which he regarded as a form of change, as a gradual transition from potentiality to actuality. Ibn Sina's philosophical perspective on motion extends beyond the confines of physical phenomena, encompassing metaphysical dimensions, particularly the concept of God and the relationship between God and the world. His approach is further diversified into ethical and psychological realms, where motion serves as the fundamental principal of actions and deeds. Given the extensive scope of Ibn Sina's thought on motion-related issues, meticulous and a focused examination of the topic is imperative. The present study aims to explore how Ibn Sina grounds motion within the framework of potentiality-actuality-perfection. In this regard, it investigates Ibn Sina's approach to the concepts of potentiality, actuality, and perfection, the nature of the transition from potentiality to actuality, and the fundamental element that qualifies a change as motion. The study proposes a comprehensive framework encompassing the definition, nature, and possibility of motion. It is contended that this study makes a significant contribution to the field by elucidating the philosophical underpinning and conceptual relationships inherent to the notion of motion
Development of Sol-Gel Synthesized ZnO Nanoparticle-Incorporated Polymer-Based X-Ray Detectors: A Comparative Investigation of Device Architectures
The extensive use of X-rays in medical, security, and industrial applications has led to considerable interest in the development of advanced X-ray detection technologies. Conventional detectors based on inorganic semiconductors, such as silicon or germanium, face challenges, including high production costs and limited flexibility. This study investigates the potential of organic semiconductors, particularly ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) incorporated into a poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) matrix, for X-ray detection. The ZnO NPs, selected for their high mobility, large band gap, and thermal stability, were synthesized via a sol-gel method and integrated into P3HT to form composite layers at varying ratios (1:0.25, 1:0.5, and 1:0.75). Two different device architectures were fabricated: interdigitated (IDT) electrodes as resistive-based and diode-based devices with ITO/ZnO/P3HT/Graphite configurations. The influence of the ZnO NP concentration and device structure on X-ray detection performance was systematically investigated and evaluated. The results indicated that increasing the ZnO NP content enhanced electron transportation and improved the X-ray sensitivity of the devices. The ITO/ZnO/P3HT/Graphite device with a P3HT ratio of 1:0.75 exhibited the highest sensitivity (0.94 μGy/s) and the fastest response times, outperforming those of the IDT-based devices. This study demonstrates that organic semiconductors doped with ZnO NPs are promising candidates for cost-effective, flexible, and high-performance X-ray detectors. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved
Gaziantep iline ait bazı meteorolojik değişkenlerin trend analizi
İklim değişikliğinin etkileri, meteorolojik değişkenler üzerinde daha belirgin bir şekilde hissedilmektedir. Bölgesel ve havza bazlı iklim değişiklikleri, zamanla daha belirgin hale gelmiştir. Bazı bölgelerde yağış miktarında geçmiş yıllara kıyasla artış gözlemlenirken, diğer bölgelerde ise azalma tespit edilmiştir. Örneğin 2023 yılında Karadeniz Bölgesi’ndeki yağışlarda artış gözlemlenirken Ege Bölgesi’ndeki yağışlarda ise azalma gerçekleşmiştir. Bu çalışmada, belirli iklim parametrelerinin yıllara göre eğilimleri İstatistik ve Tekil Spektrum Analizi (TSA) yöntemleri kullanılarak incelenmiş ve bu parametrelerin (nem, sıcaklık, yağış, güneşlenme süresi ve rüzgâr hızı) buharlaşma üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Buharlaşmayı tetikleyen en önemli faktörlerden biri, küresel ısınmadır. Hava sıcaklıklarındaki kademeli artışlar, buharlaşma oranını da artırmaktadır. Özellikle son yıllarda yoğun kentleşme ile birlikte tarım ve orman arazilerinin azalması, yol ve kaldırım alanlarının artması, bu artışların başlıca nedenleri arasında yer almaktadır. Betonarme yapıların bulunmadığı alanlarda su, toprak veya bitkiler tarafından tutulabilmektedir. Literatürde buharlaşma hesabı için çeşitli istatistiksel ve kara kutu yöntemleri mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de buharlaşmanın en yoğun olduğu illerden biri olan Gaziantep seçilmiştir. Çalışmada, Gaziantep ilinde 17261 nolu istasyonda 2002-2022 yılları arasında kaydedilen aylık ortalama nem, sıcaklık, buharlaşma, yağış, güneşlenme süresi ve rüzgar hızı verilerinin trend analizleri lineer regresyon, Mann-Kendall testi, Sen'in eğim testi ve TSA yöntemleri kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler eksiksiz olarak Muş Meteoroloji İl Müdürlüğü’nden temin edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre bulunan korelasyon değerlerinde buharlaşma ile güneşlenme süresi arasında 0,579 ve buharlaşma ile rüzgâr hızı arasında ise -0,129 değeri bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma sonucunda, Gaziantep ilinde iklim değişikliğinin belirgin bir şekilde hissedildiğini ve bu değişimin incelenen meteorolojik değişkenler üzerinde homojen bir etki yaratmadığı elde edilmiştir
Effect of Imidazole Derivatives on U-87 MG Glioblastoma Cell Lines via TrxR1, GST and GR, Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activities
In the literature, it is seen that heteroaromatic imidazole compounds have many effective biological properties such as antitumor, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antihypertensive, antiallergic, anticancer, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Due to these effects, its therapeutic effects in various types of cancer are being investigated more and more day by day. In particular, the effects of imidazole derivatives are being investigated for cancer types for which no treatment has yet been identified, such as Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). For this reason, the anticancer effects of imidazole derivatives on U-87 MG and HDFa cells, their inhibitory effects on TrxR1, GR and GST enzymes associated with multidrug resistance in cancer cells, and their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities were investigated. Cytotoxic effects were measured by MTT assay after U-87 MG HDFa cells were treated with imidazole compounds. The results revealed that imidazole compounds decreased the viability of cells in a dose-dependent manner compared to the control group. In addition, when imidazole compounds are used in treatments targeting enzymes in cancerous cells, it has been observed that they do not harm healthy HDFa cells, but they also have a significant effect on U-87 MG cells. It can be said that compound I3 is a selective inhibitor in the treatment of Glioblastoma. It was observed that compounds I2 and I3 have antimicrobial activity. When the antioxidant activities of imidazole derivatives were examined, we observed that compounds I2 and I3 exhibited antioxidant activity. These results show us that imidazole molecules have antioxidant, antimicrobial and anticancer effects
Sigara Sebep Olduğu Sağlık Harcamalarını Finanse Edebilir Mi? Türkiye’de Sağlık Harcamaları Finansal Kaynağına Alternatif Öneri
Tütünün neden olduğu hastalıklar, yüksek sağlık harcamalarına ve insan sermayesi kaybına yol açmaktadır. Bu olumsuz etkiler nedeniyle birçok ülke tütün kullanımını azaltmak için vergi politikaları uygulamaktadır. Tütün ürünlerinden alınan vergiler, hem kullanımın azaltılmasını hem de bu ürünlerin neden olduğu zararların etkilerini telafi etmeyi amaçlamakta ve aynı zamanda devlet için önemli bir gelir kaynağı oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırma, tütün ürünlerinden elde edilen vergi gelirlerinin sağlık harcamalarının finansmanında kullanılabilmesine yönelik politika yapıcılara öneriler sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, tütün vergilerinden elde edilen gelirlerin merkezi bütçeden ayrılan sağlık harcamalarını tamamen finanse edebildiği tespit edilmiştir. Vergilerin belirli bir amaç doğrultusunda kullanılması, kaynakların daha etkin tahsis edilmesini sağlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, tütün vergilerinin, tütün kaynaklı hastalıkların tedavisi için ayrılması, hem zararların telafisi hem de vergi gelirlerinin amacına uygun kullanılması açısından etkili olacaktır. Araştırma, tütün vergilerinin sağlık harcamaları için güçlü bir finansman kaynağı olabileceğini önermektedir
