    Do Phone and Internet Have Role to Promote Economic

    As one of the developing countries in the world, Indonesia is very active in developing ICT. The dependence of the Indonesian people on ICT increases every year. The two ICT indicators experiencing rapid development are the telephone and the internet. This study aims to analyze the effects of fixed-line phone users, mobile phone users, and internet users on economic growth in Indonesia. The panel data used in this study is panel data from 33 provinces in Indonesia from 2011–2019. The results showed that mobile phone users and internet users have positive effects on economic growth. However, fixed-line phones have a negative and insignificant influence on economic growth. Advances in technology have shifted fixed-line phones to smartphones. The government is expected to control and direct mobile phones and the internet for productive activities to encourage economic improvement

    Tax Reform Effect on Local Tax Buoyancy in Indonesia

    This study analyzes local tax efforts through the buoyancy rate method in 423 regions consisting of 341 Regency Governments and 82 City Governments in Indonesia for the period 2007 to 2019, using the panel data regression method with a fixed effect model. The research shows that changes in regional taxation policies with Law of Republic Indonesia Number 28 year 2009 concerning Local Taxes and Charges have a positive impact on efforts to collect Local Taxes with a significant increase in the value of the regional tax buoyancy rate. The value of the local tax buoyancy rate obtained is higher for the City Government than for the Regency Government, so it is necessary to adjust regional tax policies consistently to overcome the inequality of income realization that occurs between the Regency and City Governments in order to increase regional fiscal independence

    The Covid -19 pandemic is a massive disaster, impacting various sectors of the economy including the Islamic principle insurance sector. The government through the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in dealing with these problems has issued a stimulus policy so that the Islamic principle insurance sector is still able to maintain the level of solvency and risk based capital is maintained. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the Stimulus Policy and the level of Risk Based Capital on the level of solvency of sharia-based insurance companies during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The method used is descriptive method with a simple statistical approach. The results show: 1. There is a positive influence of the Stimulus Policy on the Solvency Level of the Islamic principle insurance company sector, 2. There is a positive influence on the Level of Risk Based Capital on the Solvency Level of the Islamic Principle Insurance Company sector, 3. There is an influence of the Stimulus Policy and Level of Risk Based Capital on Simultaneous level of solvency in Islamic principle insurance companies. From the research results, it can be concluded that the Stimulus Policy and Risk Based Capital Level that has been set by the regulator is right on target

    Investigating the Income Inequality in Indonesia: An Application of Autoregressive Distributed Lag Approach

    This study investigates the effect of economic growth, urban population, unemployment, and human capital on income inequality in Indonesia. Annual data collected from World Development Indicator (WDI) is used from 1984 to 2019. The analytical method of this research is Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) to examine the short and long-term relationships. The results show that economic growth positively and significantly affects income inequality in the short and long term. The urban population variable has a significant negative effect in the short term but not in the long term. The unemployment variable has a significant positive effect in the long run. Finally, human capital negatively affects the short term while not in the long term. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the government stabilize inequality by increasing progressive taxes, creating jobs, providing soft skills training beyond formal education, and socializing the concept of commuter work

    Principal Component Regression in Statistical Downscaling with Missing Value for Daily Rainfall Forecasting

    Drought is a serious problem that often arises during the dry season. Hydrometeorologically, drought is caused by reduced rainfall in a certain period. Therefore, it is necessary to take the latest actions that can overcome this problem. This research aims to predict the potential for a drought to occur again in the Kupang City, Indonesia by developing a rainfall forecasting model. Incomplete daily local climate data for Kupang City is an obstacle in this analysis of rainfall forecasting. Data correction was then carried out through imputed missing values using the Kalman Filter method with Arima State-Space model. The Kalman Filter and Arima State-Space model (2,1,1) produces the best missing data imputation with a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.930. The rainfall forecasting process is carried out using Statistical Downscaling with the Principal Component Regression (PCR) model that considers global atmospheric circulation from the Global Circular Model (GCM). The results showed that the PCR model obtained was quite good with a Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) value of 2.81%. This model is used to predict the daily rainfall of Kupang City by utilizing GCM data

    This study aims to analyze the effect of energy resources, energy consumption, and road infrastructure on economic growth and their effect on CO2 emissions in Indonesia. This study uses time series data in Indonesia for the period 2000 to 2019 and the analytical model used is the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The results found in this study are variables that have a significant effect on economic growth in the short term are road infrastructure in the same period, in the previous period, as well as in the previous 2 periods and resources. Meanwhile, the ones that have a significant effect in the long term are road infrastructure and energy resources. Variables that have a significant effect on CO2 emissions in the short term are road infrastructure, energy consumption in the previous period, economic growth in the previous period, energy consumption and energy resources. While the variables that influence in the long term are economic growth and energy resources

    The increased rate of maize production in Indonesia is relatively slow, on the other hand, the need for corn as raw material for the food industry and faster food improvement. Still, demand for maize for direct consumption during the economic crisis also increased. This study aims to identify corn development strategy in Banten Province and formulate priority scale efforts for corn commodity development strategy in Banten province.  The type of this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach, with the research location taken intentionally (purposive). The in Banten Province, then prioritize the strategy to improve and expand the marketing network in the form of fruit and corn processing products (corn kernels) through the program of local superior product introduction to outsiders of Banten Province. The priority of the fifth development strategy is to increase cooperation between farmers, processing industries, and traders with the government. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling method with 52 respondents consisting of farmers, the processing industry, traders, and the government. Data analysis using Analytic Hierarchy Process and Focus Group Discussion. The result of this research is the alternative development strategy of 25 strategies which are all obtained through Focus Group Discussions and Analytic Hierarchy Process method, then get the strategy priority scale, the priority strategy to improve corn cultivation technique in Banten Province, then the priority of strategy improvement of facilities and infrastructure. The priority of further development strategy is to improve the quality and quantity of maize

    Training on Making Environmentally Friendly Clean Water Filters Using Used Bottles for Residents of Tegallega Village in Cianjur Regency

    Tegallega Village, Warung Kondang District, Cianjur Regency has a problem regarding the availability of clean water, the water used by residents comes from the Cimanceuri River or dug wells where the water is relatively cloudy, even though the use of dirty water has the potential to cause various health problems, such as cholera, dysentery, typhus, and tuberculosis and other diseases. The availability of clean water has always been one of the characteristics of community welfare. How not without clean water it is impossible to realize a prosperous society, a physically and mentally healthy society as a form of participation in developing public health. This activity method in community service uses a follow-up study method with a participatory approach in community service, the team conducts training on how to make simple water filtration that can be used as a source of clean water for families by using plastic bottle waste and other environmentally friendly materials that residents can find around environment in making the dirty water filter. The results of this Community Service Activity went smoothly and were greeted with great enthusiasm by the residents because the practice of making water purification equipment made with materials such as pebbles, coconut fiber, charcoal, fibers, and sponges functioned well from the water which was originally colored cloudy turns to be clearer and odorless

    Application Education as a Place to Increase Community Income During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Parungponteng

    Blood clams (Anadara granosa) are endemic clams found in Southeast Asia and East Asia. Blood clams are widely consumed by the public as seafood dishes in coastal food stalls. The great potential of blood clams will increase the waste of clam shells produced. The accumulation of shellfish waste will cause pollution and reduce environmental aesthetics. The chitin content in blood clam shells can be used as chitosan. Chitosan is a polymer of -(1-4) glucosamine which is formed when the acetyl group in chitin is substituted by hydrogen to become an amine group. Chitosan has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Isolation of chitosan was carried out through the stages of demineralization, deproteination, and deacetylation. The limited use of laboratories during the pandemic is a major obstacle in the isolation process of chitosan. This study aims to process blood clam shell waste into chitosan in a simple way on a home scale. Processing includes deproteination, demineralization, and deacetylation were done using tools and materials available at home. Laboratory equipment such as beakers could be replaced with pots, the reflux process was replaced by using a cloth to filter, and measuring cups were replaced with glasses. The research used 1500 grams of blood clam shell powder and produced 1050 grams of white chitosan with a slightly hard texture.
