Therefore, mentoring and training are needed to optimize data administration management. The aim of this activity is to optimize data administration management through mentoring and training for village officials in Tanjung Pasir Village through the Statistics Love Village Program. The Statistics Study Program and the Statistics Corner of Matana University collaborate with the Central Statistics Agency of Tangerang Regency in implementing this program. The results of this activity include mapping data on the number of aquaculture businesses and the total production volume of aquaculture. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the potential business sector in Tanjung Pasir Village is mainly engaged in milkfish farming, with most of the total aquaculture production being in brackish water. Based on the mapping of this potential data, it is hoped that village officials can make more targeted policies and improve community welfare
Sharing Financial Literacy of Malaysian Students Through Lessons Learned from Indonesian Students
Financial literacy equips university students with the knowledge they need to navigate their finances as they grow into independent adults. Our outreach to Malaysian students had two goals: to strengthen their financial understanding and to gauge their current literacy levels. We achieved this through classroom presentations to the students, Q&A sessions, and discussions with student‑affairs staff at Malaysian universities. The core material delivered in the financial literacy session focused on sources of funding for making investments. The findings suggest that Malaysian students deal with challenges much like those faced by Indonesian students, especially in developing essential financial management skills, as their parents entrust them with the responsibility of managing their living and educational expenses independently. Malaysian students also demonstrate the same awareness as their Indonesian peers regarding the importance of engaging in entrepreneurial activities, which help prepare them to become successful economic contributors. The material presented was highly relevant for students interested in becoming entrepreneurs
The Role of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Driving Poverty Reduction in Lesotho
The pervasive nature of poverty across all nations, all ages, all genders, and all races puts continuous search for potential roles of various phenomena in reducing poverty globally at the forefront of academic research effort. This article turns the spotlight on the role of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in driving poverty reduction in Lesotho. It aims to highlight the possible pathways to explore towards the eradication of poverty in the country. We adopted a qualitative research approach to probe the roles of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in releasing individuals wallowing in abject poverty and those vulnerable to poverty. The study identified that by providing access to financing, markets, mentorship, training programmes, and a culture that celebrates risk-taking and problem-solving, the entrepreneurial ecosystem cultivates an atmosphere conducive to the flourishing of small and medium-sized enterprises, thus creating employment opportunities that lift communities out of the cycle of poverty. We discovered that newly created businesses become engines of job creation, providing stable incomes and a pathway to financial security for those previously trapped in poverty. Unfortunately, the study found that most of the components of the entrepreneurial ecosystem fail to discharge the valuable roles effectively in Lesotho due to a number of weaknesses. This study adds to the bundle of academic knowledge and contributes to the effective exploitation of the identified roles in reducing poverty in Lesotho
Calculation of Aggregate Accident Claims Based on the Number and Magnitude of Accident Losses in Indonesia from 2013 to 2022
Accident losses are unavoidable when accidents occur. Data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) show an increasing trend in accident claim amounts in recent years. This study aims to calculate aggregate accident claims based on the number and magnitude of accident losses in Indonesia from 2013 to 2022, enabling insurance companies or entities covering such losses to estimate the total liability required for all accident claims. The Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution was applied to model claim amounts, while the negative binomial distribution was used for the number of accidents. The results show that the expected value of aggregate claims is IDR 236,768,463,076.93, with a variance of 7.28 × 10²⁰. The findings indicate that these distributions are suitable for modeling aggregate claims, providing insights for determining appropriate insurance premiums
Analysis of Economic Growth and Tourism Potential in Tanjung Lesung, Panimbang, Banten as a Creative Economy Destination
Tanjung Lesung, located in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, has been designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Tourism with the aim of encouraging regional economic growth and improving community welfare. This study analyzes the impact of SEZ on the local economy using qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, surveys, field observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the Tanjung Lesung SEZ has contributed positively to increasing community income by 52% and reducing the unemployment rate by 33%. In addition, investment in the tourism sector encourages business growth in the hospitality, culinary, and tourism services sectors. However, the development of SEZ also faces several challenges, such as limited infrastructure, readiness of local workers, and social and environmental impacts. Limited infrastructure, especially transportation access, is an obstacle in supporting the growth of the tourism sector. In addition, many local workers do not yet have the skills needed by the tourism industry. Environmental impacts, such as increasing waste volume and conversion of agricultural land, are also major concerns. Therefore, a comprehensive strategy is needed through improving infrastructure, strengthening human resource capacity, and implementing sustainable environmental management policies. With the right steps, Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone can become a successful model for inclusive and sustainable tourism-based economic development in Indonesia
The Role of Education in Increasing Social Awareness and Community Participation: A Case Study in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua
This study examines the role of education in increasing social awareness and community participation in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua, an area rich in natural resources but still lagging behind in terms of education and welfare. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study explores in depth how education contributes to social change and the factors that influence its effectiveness. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participant observation, document analysis, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving local communities, educators, community leaders, local governments, and civil society organizations. The results of the study showed a positive correlation between education levels and levels of social awareness and community participation in development. Statistical data shows that the community\u27s education profile is still low with 18.4% not attending school, 35.6% having elementary school education, 25.3% having junior high school education, 15.2% having high school education, and only 5.5% having higher education. The study identified four main inhibiting factors: limited access to education, lack of qualified educators, low community awareness of the importance of education, and local cultural aspects that limit educational participation. To address these challenges, five strategies are recommended: improving educational infrastructure, training educators, developing non-formal education programs, utilizing technology, and collaborating with civil society organizations and the private sector. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the linkages between education, social awareness, and community participation in remote areas, and provides practical recommendations for developing more effective and sustainable education policies
