    The Impact of School Principal Leadership, Academic Supervision, and Achievement Motivation on Teacher Performance

    Objective: This Research aims to ascertain the relationship between school principal leadership, academic supervision, and achievement motivation on teacher performance. Method: This Research employs a statistical survey methodology to guarantee the precision of the findings. To provide forecasts, researchers used the partial least squares-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) to ascertain the magnitude of latent variables. The research utilized the Smart PLS. The investigation occurred at a public elementary school in Tangerang, Indonesia's Banten province. Two hundred fifty elementary school teachers from Tangerang City, Banten, Indonesia, were selected as the research sample. A random sampling method was employed to conduct the sampling. Results:  This research presents four noteworthy and statistically significant findings, building upon earlier research and discussion. An important factor is the direct connection between the principal's leadership and academic supervision, which exhibits a positive association. The principal's leadership has a direct and beneficial impact on teacher performance. There is a positive association between academic supervision and teacher performance. There is a positive association between achievement motivation and teacher performance. Novelty: This research presents novelty research that combines the variables of achievement motivation, academic supervision, principal leadership, and teacher performance into a single research topic. Furthermore, the current research distinguishes itself from prior investigations through its research emphasis, subjects, and participants. This research is novel in its attempt to incorporate multiple variables into a single unit for investigation and exploration. This research is intriguing due to variations in emphasis, research participants, and incorporation of research factors compared to earlier research

    Assessing Graduate Competency Fit for the Workplace: A Tracer Study Investigation in Education

    Objective: Effective curriculum programs depend on how well higher education programs prepare people for jobs and how well the job market offers employment opportunities. Unfortunately, many university graduates often work in roles that do not align with what they learned in their studies. This study aims to assess the compatibility between the competencies possessed by graduates of the Information Systems Program at Surabaya State University and the expectations of employers. Method: A tracer study was conducted to investigate the extent to which program graduates are absorbed into the workforce. This research was conducted on alums of the Information Systems Program at Surabaya State University who graduated in 2022. The research method was an online survey with a quantitative descriptive analysis approach. Results: The results revealed that 25.0% of the respondents found the relevance of the Information Systems program to their jobs to be very close, 25.0% considered it close, 37.5% found it quite close, and approximately 12.5% did not find it very close. This indicates that the learning experience provided by the Information Systems program aligns well with job requirements and can be effectively implemented. Novelty: This research focused on aligning the competencies acquired by the Information Systems Program graduates at Surabaya State University. This focused approach on a specific program and year of graduation adds a novel perspective to the broader discourse on the effectiveness of higher education in meeting the demands of the job market

    Analysis of Teaching Quality Factors at Aviation Vocational Education

    Objective: The decreasing absorption capacity of vocational education graduates indicates barriers to teaching quality. This Research aims to analyze the factors that influence the quality of vocational learning. Method: This Research uses quantitative methods. The sample is aircraft maintenance engineering students at Aviation Polytechnic. Data analysis uses the Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square. Result: Validation of the research instrument resulted in the loading factor, AVE, Cronbach Alfa, and SRMR meeting the requirements, so the instrument and variables were declared valid and reliable, and the model was declared fit. Lecturer behavior and the quality of learning and learning resources have a direct and significant positive relationship. Meanwhile, management support through learning resources has influenced the quality of learning by 51.0%. Novelty: The quality of learning in vocational education is influenced by the role of lecturer behavior and management support in providing and managing quality learning resources. The collaboration of those three aspects can improve the quality of competency of vocational education graduates. The high competency of aviation vocational education graduates can increase the absorption capacity of graduates in the era of Revolution 4.0

    Implementation of The Project For Strengthening The Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) in Schools

    Objective: This study examines issues in implementing the P5 program at State High School 14 Samarinda. Method: The data in this study are interview and observation data with correspondents of 3 teaching staff, three education staff, and five learners from State High School 14 Samarinda. Results: The results show that in its implementation, State High School 14 Samarinda experienced difficulties at the beginning of the project implementation where there were no references from other schools or incomplete explanations from the Office of Education and Culture, both provincial and district, which caused several obstacles, especially in developing children's primary capital. With these limitations, the workforce and education personnel work professionally by collaborating with novice teachers and senior teachers through experiences and joint discussions with parents about their children's essential capital so that they quickly know which ones need improvement. Novelty: Previous studies have analyzed the implementation of individual and organizational programs in education management and have yet to pay attention to the implementation of programs, especially the P5 program. Therefore, this research seeks to introduce the P5 program at the senior high school education level to make learners aware of the importance of cognitive and affective abilities in life, including the problems they face

    Reflections on Learning and Student Well-being and Learning Achievement

    Objective: This research aims to measure the impact of learning reflection activities on student well-being and learning achievement. The independent curriculum is a transformative curriculum from the previous curriculum. One of the goals of the independent curriculum is to create prosperous students (student well-being). The well-being of students will have an impact on high academic achievement. One effort to realize these two things is by carrying out learning reflection activities. Method: The subjects of this research were students in phase B, namely class IV students at Gambirono State Elementary School 03. This research is quantitative and experimental, with a pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection method was a student well-being questionnaire and a test on Indonesian language subjects. The learning reflection used is the 4F model. The data analysis technique uses the t-test. Results:  The research results show that learning reflection using the 4F model impacts student well-being and learning achievement in Indonesian language subjects. Novelty:  This research can be used as a reference for schools and teachers in creating a comfortable atmosphere, input about the pattern of student learning outcomes with their level of school well-being, support the importance of comfort to support student learning outcomes, and be used as a reference and consideration for similar research

    Science Literacy Competency Profile of Science Education Students in Understanding the Concept of Thermodynamics

    Objective: This study aimed to analyze the science literacy competency profile of science education students in understanding thermodynamics concepts at the State University of Surabaya, with a specific focus on identifying competency levels and gender differences in science literacy achievement. Method: A quantitative descriptive research was conducted involving 35 students from Science Education Class B, selected through random sampling. Data collection was conducted using a science literacy test instrument adapted from the 2025 PISA framwork, consisting of 15 questions (10 multiple choice and 5 essay question) designed to measure three primary science compenties. Results: The analysis revealed that 51.42% of students achieved a proficient level, 28.58% reached an advanced level, and 20% were at a basic level. Students showed the highest competency in explaining scientific phenomena (74.4%), followed by constructing and evaluating scientific investigations (65.7%), and lowest in research and scientific information used for decision-making (60.6%). Female students exhibited slightly better performance, with a 4-point advantage over their male counterparts. Novelty: This study provides a detailed analysis of science literacy competencies in understanding thermodynamics among pre-service science teacher. It also incorporates the lates 2025 PISA framework and highlights gender-based performance differences. The findings provide valuable insights for developing targeted interventions in science teacher education programs, particularly in strengthening evidence-based decision-making skills and practical applications of thermodynamics concepts

    Analysis of Work Readiness Research Instruments for Vocational High School of the Mechanical Engineering Program

    Objective: One of the levels of education in Indonesia is Vocational High School (VHS). VHS provides various skills programs, and VHS’s graduates should have greater opportunities to work based on their competencies. However, in East Java, most of the unemployed are VHS graduates. One of the skills programs at VHS is the Mechanical Engineering Skills program. The research purpose was to analyze the instrument research of work readiness vocational high school of the Mechanical Engineering program. Method: This research used a quantitative method. Instrument Work Readiness (WR) with variable problem-solving skills (PSS), Technology Skills (TS), Teamwork Skills (TWS) and Self-management Skills (SMS). Validity test of instrument used software Winstep Rasch analysis and reliability test of instrument used software Stata. The instrument, which has been validated by experts, was tested on 30 respondents. Results: aspect validity about test quality, model of legibility, and instrument sheet.  Instrument validity of PSS was advisability 91.3%, CVR 0.92 and reliability 0.797, TS was advisability 93.6%, CVR 0.95 and reliability 0.491, TWS was advisability 90.3%, CVR 0.87 and reliability 0.798, SMS was advisability 92.6%, CVR 0.86 and reliability 0.941, WR advisability 95%, CVR 0.95 and reliability 0.946. Novelty: New model research instrument for measuring problem-solving skills, technology skills, teamwork skills, and self-management skills on the work readiness of students at Machining Engineering Vocational High School in East Java together.     Using Podcasts, Lexico-Grammatical Resources, and Videos With Descriptive Images to Improve Speaking Skills

    Objective: Most EFL students need help to develop their speaking abilities. Due to their limited vocabulary, poor grammar, and lack of confidence, they could not practice speaking. Ten students from the English Department joined a study group to address these obstacles. Method: The procedure was carried out online. The teacher created a WhatsApp group as the initial class medium. He added to the vocabulary development and grammar education on the screen. The students studied the material on a video podcast to retell to meet the comprehension criteria, synchronizing their inputs with real life. They then describe a picture to hone their communication skills. They also transcript their story in order to make the spoken and written versions of it coincide. Results: After following the teacher's instructions to build sentences using the lexico-grammar technique, students can identify the grammatical conventions used in podcasts. They can adequately narrate pictures thanks to this type of learning. Their increased confidence fosters mature dialogue. The students' delivery will become more fluid due to the novelty of learning sentence construction through lexico-grammatical techniques and synchronizing it to podcast material. They acquired the ability to apply vocabulary and grammar norms contextually. It was evident from the way they described the images. To fit the needs of their students in the classroom, teachers might change them. It also encourages other researchers to continue their observations

    Analysis of the Development Needs of HOTS-Based Electronic Student Worksheets with Culturally Responsive Teaching Approach in Elementary Schools

    Objective: To address this issue, this research explores the integration of HOTS with the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach in developing Electronic Student Worksheets as a holistic and relevant learning solution. This research analyzes the preliminary development of HOTS-based electronic Student Worksheets with a Culturally Responsive Teaching Approach. Method: This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach and involves fourth-grade teachers in Pasuruan Regency as research subjects. Sampling is done through purposive sampling. Data collection includes observation, documentation, and interviews. Results:  The research begins with a preliminary study to identify the foundations that strengthen the development of electronic Student Worksheets. Then, a field study is conducted by directly observing the teaching materials teachers use in their instruction. Curriculum analysis focuses on Student Worksheets and learning materials. The Student Worksheets teachers use need to integrate HOTS and the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach. This preliminary study findings suggest the need for developing HOTS-based electronic Student Worksheets with a Culturally Responsive Teaching approach so that students can improve their critical thinking skills, learn about the culture of their local area, and appreciate both their own culture and the cultures of others. Novelty: This research implies that implementing HOTS with the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach in elementary education can provide a solid foundation for producing students who are not only academically intelligent but also possess character, critical thinking skills, and an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity

    Improving Students' Speaking Skills through Learning Media and the Mastery of Different Discourse Markers

    Objective: This research aims to ascertain the differences in improving students' English-speaking skills through using learning media and mastering proficiency in discourse markers. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach and experimental design. The design used the non-equivalent 2 x 3 factorial design. The research sample consisted of 1000 Madrasah Aliyah students in Serang Regency. However, in this study, only 10% of the population 100 was sampled using systematic random sampling techniques. The instruments used to collect data include speaking and discourse marker tests. We analyzed the research data using two-way ANOVA statistics with SPSS 26.   Results:  The results of this research are grouped into four research findings, namely (1) differences in students' speaking abilities between students who were treated using the learning media Scrabble Word and flashcards, (2) differences in students' speaking abilities with high, medium and low mastery of students' discourse markers, (3) an interaction between learning media and high, medium, and low students' mastery of discourse markers on students' speaking abilities, and (4) differences in mastery of discourse markers based on students' gender, from the average of pre-test and post-test. Novelty: This research is intriguing due to variations from prior studies in emphasis, subjects, outcomes, gender disparities in mastery of discourse markers, and incorporation of research variables. Previous studies concentrated solely on utilizing Scrabble words and flashcards to enhance vocabulary and students' reading abilities. Prior research only examined one research variable, specifically scrabble words, flashcards, and discourse markers
