Innovative Learning Model: Improving The Students' Scientific Literacy Of Junior High School
In the strict challenges faced by society, a paradigm shift is needed in the education system that can provide a set of 21st century skills needed by students to deal with every aspect of global life. One of them is scientific literacy. Unfortunately, the scientific literacy ability of students in Indonesia is still low. The Inquiry and SETS models have been widely applied to improve students' scientific literacy skills. However, weaknesses are found such as: students still cannot use their content knowledge to explain scientific phenomena perfectly; and the need for more in-depth inquiry activities so that students' abilities in designing and evaluating scientific investigations obtain excellent results. Therefore, innovation was created to develop the BRADeR learning model based on consideration of the strengths and weaknesses of the inquiry model and SETS as well as theoretical and empirical support. This research serves as a preliminary study in the process of developing the BRADeR model to improve students' scientific literacy skills. This study includes a needs analysis and literature review. The results show that innovation can be maintained as a basis for developing a hypothetical model of the BRADeR learning model. The syntax of the BRADeR model includes: brainstorming, reading, analyzing, decision making, and reflection. The hypothetical model of the BRADeR learning model must be tested to meet the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness to improve the scientific literacy skills of junior high school students
Improved Learning Outcomes of Sociology Subject of Social Interaction (Advertising) in Class X Students of State Senior High School 3 Sungguminasa Gowa
The main problem in this research is how to improve the results of the sociology learning subject of social interaction (advertising) through a type of Jigsaw cooperative learning model in class X students at State Senior High School 3 Sungguminasa Gowa. This study aimed to improve the results of the sociology learning subject of social interaction (advertising) in class X students at State Senior High School 3 Sungguminasa Gowa. This type of research was a classroom action research consists of two cycles that conducted four times. Research procedures include planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The results showed that in the first cycle that was done, it has not been fulfilled because the average value obtained is 65.78. Whereas in the second cycle, from 27 students, there were 24 students or 88.89 had met the KKM and had been fulfilled the average value is 78.9 or in the high category, while the KKM standard was 70. Based on the findings of the research above it can be concluded the learning outcomes of class X sociology students at State Senior High School 3 Sungguminasa Gowa increased
The Implementation of Classical Puppet Drama Performance to Improve English Speaking Skill for International Class Program Students
This study analysed the implementation of classical puppet drama performance to improve students’ speaking skill in International Class Program of one of universities in Salatiga. The teaching and learning processes in drama class were(1 ) asking the students with the question, (2) designing drama project plan, (3) creating drama preparation schedules, (4) monitoring the students in preparing the drama, (5) assessing the outcome, and (6) evaluating students’ drama performance. This study was qualitative research in the form of case study. To collect the data the researcher used observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire. The results showed that by using drama performance, students can improve their pronunciation, fluency, accuracy, handle the voice, and body language to improve their self-confidence to speak in English. Moreover, the used of 4Cs skills activities namely critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills in the classroom can stimulate students to improve their group work and interaction among students.  
Development of an Inquiry-Based Science Learning Material Using Flash Card to Reduce Misconception of Elementary School Students
This study is development research with the aim the knowing of validity, effectiveness, and practicality of inquiry-based learning tools assisted by flashcard media to reduce misconceptions of elementary school students on light concept. Before and after the learning materials implemented, the pretest and posttest were carried out. Identification of students' misconceptions was utilized by using the three-tiers diagnostic test. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive. The results of the study showed: (1) The validity of the learning materials was declared to be very valid by the validator, (2) The practicality of the materials developed was declared practical by the observer in terms of aspects of the device's implementation and student activities in learning which were categorized very well, and (3) the effectiveness of the learning materials being developed was declared effective in terms of the application of the materials which had an impact on reducing students' misconceptions which initially amounted to 57.33% down to 17.33%. An Inquiry-based science learning device assisted with flashcard media that has been developed, was feasible with valid, practical, and effective criteria, and also can be used to reduce science misconceptions on elementary students on light material
Metaphysics in a Review of "Karl Popper's Philosophy of Science" (Rationality Without Foundations) by Stefano Gattei
This article is the result of a book review of a work by Stefano Gattei. The starting point of Popper's view is that "almost every phase of our scientific development is under metaphysical rule, that is, ideas that are tested, ideas which determine not only what problems we need to explain, but also what kinds of answers we will consider to be one that is important or satisfactory or accepted, and as a remedy, or guarantee, of a previous answer". Popper's indeterminism is important because Popper's custom begins by considering an intuitive Laplacian view of determinism: "the world is like a motion picture film: or a projected image. Parts of the film have proved to be the past. And unproven people are the past. front". Popper has always been claimed to be a metaphysical realist: to him, to be a realist means to think, in covenant with common sense, that the world of his existence is independent of human beings. It means, "my existence will end without the world coming to an end too". As well as other metaphysical positions, realism is a non-testable conjecture: "realism is neither proven nor disproved"
Philosophical Reflections: Critical Analysis of Learning Strategies for Science Practicum During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The purpose of this study is to obtain a critical description of the learning strategy for science practicum during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method was a qualitative descriptive study. The respondents of this study were lecturers and students of the Natural Sciences within the Indonesia Natural Sciences Tadris Association. The research instruments were in the form of questionnaires and a list of questions related to the learning of science practicum during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed the highest percentage of each learning strategy indicator for science practicum used by lecturers as follows: (1) 68.75% for the student center approach, (2) 50% for problem-based learning strategy, (3) 31.25% for self-practicum technique, (4) 31.25% for WhatsApp media, (5) 31.25% for self-assignment evaluation, (6) 93.75% for the indicator of the success of self-practicum, (7) 68.75% social media and signal supporting factors, (8) 31.25% for internet network obstacle, (9) 68.75% for the method to discover the practicum skills by playing the video of student’s results of practicum at home. The recommendation of this study should be carried out independently in each student's home by utilizing tools and materials around their environment and evaluation of learning is done through self-assignments or practicum videos sent to lecturers
Collaborative Problem-based Learning: An Analysis of Problem-Solving Skills in Vocational Schools
This study aims to analyze the effect of using Collaborative Problem-Based Learning (CPBL) on students' problem-solving skills. This study used a 2x2 factorial design, in which the selection of experimental and control groups was determined with convenience sampling. The data analysis technique of this research is divided into two types, namely the prerequisite analysis test and hypothesis testing. The findings of this study concluded that students who studied with CPBL had significantly higher problem-solving skills than students who studied with Direct Instruction (DI). In addition, high problem-solving skills were generally owned by students with high initial skills. Meanwhile, the complete the results of the hypothesis test this study also showed a significant interaction between the learning model and initial skills on students' problem-solving skills in internal combustion motor competences. This shows that the selection of the right learning model is needed according to the initial skills of students so that problem-solving skills can be adequately developed. Thus, it is hoped that vocational school students can become graduates who can compete in the world of work
