Get PDFThe aim of the article is an attempt to define the nature and specificity of opportunities and perspectives of education in the autobiographical reflection of Wilhelmina Zyndram-Kościałkowska (1844–1926), who was a friend of Eliza Orzeszkowa. The author uses the manuscripts of the writer collected in the Lithuanian State Historical Archives in Vilnius. The essence of the research is the question – how Kościałkowska defines the opportunities and perspectives of education. The reflection on them becomes the fundamental way of defining and diagnosing the intellectual identity of the community, of which Kościałkowska feels an integral part. The article is divided into several most important issues focused on education within the walls of Vilnius University, the founding fathers of Vilnius Alma Mater, reflection on the educational activities of Eliza Orzeszkowa, the impact of russification on education in the territories annexed by Russia, the role of memoranda on education, the concept of superpowerhood as well as the importance of language as a tool and code integrating the national and intellectual community.Švietimo galimybės ir perspektyvos. Straipsnio tikslas – bandymas apibrėžti Elizos Orzeszkowos draugės Wilhelminos Zyndram-Kościałkowskos (1844–1926) autobiografinės refleksijos švietimo galimybių ir perspektyvų pobūdį, specifiką ir prasmės apimtį. Autorius remiasi Lietuvos valstybės istorijos archyve Vilniuje sukauptais rašytojos ir kritikės rankraščiais. Tyrimo esmė – klausimas, kaip Kościałkowska apibrėžia ugdymo galimybes ir perspektyvas, kaip jų apmąstymas tampa esminiu bendruomenės, kurios neatskiriama dalimi jaučiasi autorė, intelektinės tapatybės apibrėžimo ir diagnozavimo būdu. Investigation of text data augmentation for transformer training via translation technique
Get PDFData augmentation can improve model’s final accuracy by introducing new data samples to the dataset. In this paper, text data augmentation using translation technique is investigated. Synthetic translations, generated by Opus-MT model are compared to the unique foreign data samples in terms of an impact to the trans- former network-based models’ performance. The experimental results showed that multilingual models like DistilBERT in some cases benefit from the introduction of the addition artificially created data samples presented in a foreign language
Financial Security Assessment in the European Union Countries
Get PDFFinancial security of the country means the absence of threats to the financial system, ensuring the stability and development of the financial system and the ability to maintain the financial sovereignty of the state. The aim of the article is to evaluate financial security in EU countries. The aggregate financial security index (AFSI) is used to reach this goal. AFSI calculation is based on five sub-indexes: Human Development Index, Economic Globalisation Index, Financial Development Index, Index of Economic Freedom and Country Level Index of Financial Stress. The results show that Market-based EU countries have the highest financial security. The lowest financial security was set in Eastern European countries

The culture of innovation today is perceived as a key factor in increasing the competitiveness of both an organisation and an entire country as it reflects their ability to think creatively, flexibility, information exchange and perception of innovation. This paper aims to present the relationship between the culture of innovation and competitiveness in the context of Bulgarian organisations. It is indicated that the culture of society itself is important for the culture of innovation. Different value systems can be a prerequisite for the development of various innovation practices, which in turn could lead to good results in the innovation activity of the whole country
