The Impact of Workplace Environment on Expatriates’ Adaptation to New Workplace
As industrialization advances around the world, companies are expanding their operations to other regions of the world, resulting in an increase in demand for expatriates who are required to work outside of their home countries. Expatriates are faced with a lot of changes in the host country (cultural differences, language barrier, etc.) and may also encounter some troubles adapting to the workplace environment (physical environment of the office and the occupational health & safety, relationship with coworkers, working hours, workplace culture, etc.). The workplace environment can affect expatriate adaptation negatively or positively. The research results showed that employees who receive cultural and diversity training from their companies tend to be more productive and are at ease in their new roles. Companies are encouraged to establish a diversified environment for their employees in order to lower the likelihood of early repatriation
Impact of Work-Life Balance Management on Expatriates’ Career
As organizations go global by trying to increase revenues or penetrate new markets for expansion, it becomes necessary to have employees who will work overseas. Working overseas as an expatriate requires a lot of effort both from the expatriate and the organization in order for the assignment to be successful. Work-life balance is vital in this regard. Employees will only succeed in the official assignment when their organizations prioritize their well-being, as this will greatly assist them in making sure they are effective and efficient in their work. The goal of this research was to see how work-life balance impacts expatriates’ careers and whether there are any relationships between work-life balance and expatriates’ careers. Results showed work-life balance has a significant positive effect on performance. This is to say that a healthy work-life balance will impact an expatriates’ career greatly, which will also benefit the organization
The Link Between the Business Process Management Capabilities and the Benefits Created by Robotic Process Automation in an Organisation
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as organisations are increasingly confronted with unclear and complex business environments, digital technologies are being used to acquire and maintain dynamism, innovation, responsiveness to changing societal needs, and agility, which are essential in this time of changes. In the current competitive environment, organising the performance of an organisation solely on the basis of functions and assignments is no longer appropriate. There is a growing interest in the concept of the process-oriented organisation (Szelagowski, & Berniak-Woźny 2020) and a growing focus on the digitalisation of operations and business processes (Kirchmer 2017; Siderska 2020). This article aims to define the link between the essential aspects of the Business Process Management capabilities and the benefit generated by Robotic Process Automation based on theoretical insights
Nefunkcinių reikalavimų kintamumas paslaugų architektūros stiliaus sistemose Vieslav Lapin
Šiame straipsnyje aptariamas kintamų nefunkcinių reikalavimų specifikavimas ir modeliavimas kuriant paslaugų architektūros stiliaus programų sistemas. Paslaugų sistemų kūrime šiai problemai spręsti dar nėra skiriama pakankamai dėmesio. Pasiūlytas kintamų savybių specifikavimo metodas remiasi modeliais grindžiama sistemų kūrimo paradigma ir naudoja produktų šeimos kūrimo idėjas. Paslaugos variantai yra nustatomi analizuojant paslaugos nefunkcines savybes ir sudaromas individualizuotas paslaugos teikimo procesas, kurio modelis gali būti generuojamas automatizuotai
Pilvo aortos aneurizmos segmentavimas neuroniniais tinklais kompiuterinės tomografijos nuotraukose
The Impact of Innovative Human Resources Management Practices on Employee Behavior
This paper aims to define the aspects (practices) of innovative human resources management and identify the impact on such behavioral outcomes as employee engagement and organizational commitment at the workplace. Proposed practices for innovative human resources management are: idiosyncratic work arrangements, high performance work systems (HPWS), sustainable workplace, employee autonomy. Review of primary and secondary sources has shown that these variables are related to such positive organizational outcomes as workplace productivity, flexibility, level of innovativeness, resistance to internal and external threats. In addition, it was indicated that intensity of HPWS can lead to a workplace burnout in the long run and it is crucial to understand how HRM practices work and what we should expect. This paper gives an overview of abovementioned HRM practices and what impact they can make on employee behavioral outcomes
Value Innovation Creation in a Creative Industries Platform
Studying modern organisational management models shows an increasing researchers’ interest in innovation and business transaction development in various industries based on platforms (Lew et al., 2019). Rapid establishment of platforms (hereinafter – platformisation) is defined as a process where economic, governmental and digital infrastructures are expanded into virtual ecosystems (Nieborg and Poell, 2018). However, it is important to emphasise that from the cognitive point of view, platforms can be established on the basis of an organisational structure as well; this is based on collective activities, dynamics and interconnection. The concept of the platform is interpreted as a new organisational paradigm due to changed expectations of those interested in order to increase the efficiency of an organisation (Kim, 2016). The aspect of new value generation is often compared with innovation and application of a platform strategy in organisations. In the academic discourse, value innovation has been studied for over two decades; however, researchers have found out that when competitiveness of organisations increases in various sectors, there has been a need to ensure as much as possible a position in the current market, employing less methods that require economic input that would allow to develop the quality of services or products when offering innovation. Innovation development processes used in creative industries are seen as a critical source of a long term competitive advantage (Holmquist et al., 2019). Evaluating the ability of CIs organisations to use existing resources in the market effectively, new ways and methods that give basis to general value generation through creative activities are created. Regarding both the practical and the academic need to study value innovation creation in a creative industries (CIs) platform, evaluating the context of the changing environment, the following research problem has been formulated: how is value innovation created in a creative industries platform? The work presents the analysis of academic discourse: abstract and systematic theoretical material of value innovation creation in a creative industries platform. The aim of the article is to analyse the creation of value innovation in a creative industries platform
