Reconstructing the Law of Nasab for Children Born with a Gestation Period of Less Than Six Months through a Critical Analysis of the Perlis State Fatwa Based on Maqāṣid Al-Syarī’ah

The phenomenon of children being born with a gestational period of less than six months after the marriage contract (premarital conception) has created a crisis of legal dualism in Malaysia. The majority of Malaysian states, following the National Fatwa, reject the attribution of lineage (nasab) of such children to their mother’s husband and mandate the use of “bin Abdullah,” which generates social stigma and long-term psychological consequences. In contrast, the Fatwa Committee of the State of Perlis issued a reformist opinion that allows the attribution of lineage to the mother’s husband if certain conditions are met. This study aims to critically analyze the methodological construction of the Perlis Fatwa in comparison with the National Fatwa, as well as to evaluate the relevance of both fatwas from the perspective of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah (the objectives of Islamic law) and the protection of children’s rights in the modern context. The research employs a juridical-normative method using a statute approach. Primary data sources include the texts of the National Fatwa and the Perlis State Fatwa, along with official explanatory documents from the Mufti of Perlis. The data are analyzed using content analysis techniques and uṣūlī comparison to examine the evidences and methods of legal reasoning (istinbāṭ al-ḥukm). The study finds that the Perlis Fatwa does not intend to legalize fornication (zinā), but rather applies the principles of Sitr (concealing faults), Hifz al-Nafs, and Hifz al-‘Ird, which are considered more dominant than the formalistic textual approach of Hifz al-Nasl upheld by the National Fatwa. The Perlis Fatwa is strongly grounded in the opinions of minority classical scholars and is highly relevant to the principle of justice for innocent children. This research offers a new synthesis between classical Islamic law and modern sociological realities, recommending legal harmonization that prioritizes the welfare of children without compromising the principles of sharī‘ah, while also filling the gap in the literature regarding the maqāṣid-based justification of the Perlis Fatwa

This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ ability to understand multiplication and the composition method through the application of the demonstration method at MI Negeri 40 Pidie. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 26 fifth-grade students, including 14 boys and 12 girls. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The results revealed that the demonstration method significantly improved students’ understanding of multiplication and number composition. Before the implementation, only 48% of students achieved the minimum mastery criterion (70). After the first cycle, this number increased to 72%, and in the second cycle, it reached 92%. The improvement occurred because the demonstration method enabled students to observe concrete examples, manipulate learning materials directly, and engage in hands-on learning that fostered conceptual understanding. Moreover, students became more active, motivated, and confident in solving multiplication problems. In conclusion, the use of the demonstration method proved effective in enhancing both cognitive achievement and learning engagement among students in mathematics learning at the elementary level

Granada was the last Muslim territory in the Iberian Peninsula. The Islamic Kingdom of Granada was ruled by the descendants of the Banu Ahmar for two centuries and a half. During this period the leaders of the Banu Ahmar made Granada the center of the Islamic Kingdom in Andalusia and established the Al-Hamra Palace as the center of government. The Islamic Kingdom of Granada experienced various political turmoil caused by various internal and external factors which finally collapsed in 1492 AD. The end of the Islamic Kingdom of Granada also meant the end of the existence of Islam in the Iberian Peninsula. The peak of the decline of the Islamic Kingdom of Granada began when two large Christian kingdoms, namely the Kingdom of Castile and Aragon, united, and the Islamic Kingdom of Granada was led by weak leaders. Finally, Granada fell to the Christian kingdom in 1492 AD. The fate of the Muslim community in Granada ended in a very tragic story. Some of them were forced to convert to Christianity, others experienced very sad torture. The rest were forced to migrate to North African regions such as Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. Today, several historical Islamic buildings in Andalusia, such as palaces and mosques, still stand strong, but there are no descendants of the Muslim Andalusian community who are Muslims

Actualizing Islamic Values in Student Discipline Development through the Taawun Istiqomah Student Management Model

This study analyzes the development of student discipline at SMK Negeri 7 Surakarta by examining how the Vice Principal for Student Affairs operationalizes Islamic values in daily student management. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and observations of routine school activities. The analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman framework, which enabled the identification of patterns related to discipline formation and value-based leadership practices. The findings show that student discipline is developed through three interconnected mechanisms. The preventive mechanism is built through early communication with parents, rule dissemination, and routine activities such as marching drills and morning assemblies. The corrective mechanism focuses on proportional guidance, routine inspections, and reflective interventions rather than punitive sanctions. The curative mechanism supports students with recurring behavioral issues through counseling and gradual habit reconstruction. These mechanisms work through structured coordination among the Vice Principal, teachers, and parents, forming a discipline system grounded in the Islamic values of taawun (collaboration) and istiqomah (consistency). The study contributes to Islamic education management by proposing the Taawun Istiqomah Student Management Model, which demonstrates how Islamic values can be embedded systematically into planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring processes within school leadership

This study aims to analyze the curative conservation of Bung Hatta’s printed collection at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Proclamator Bung Hatta Library in Bukittinggi. The collection holds significant historical and intellectual value but faces deterioration risks due to age, storage conditions, and limited resources. The research employs a qualitative narrative approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that curative conservation is conducted systematically through stages such as damage identification, cleaning, conservation treatments including deacidification, manual mending, lamination, and rebinding. However, several challenges remain, including limited budgets, inadequate facilities, a shortage of conservation experts, and the absence of post-conservation monitoring. Additionally, users’ careless handling of materials contributes to further damage. To overcome these barriers, the library has made efforts to enhance conservator training, use alternative conservation tools, strengthen collaboration with other institutions, and provide education for both librarians and users on proper collection care. This study highlights the importance of curative conservation as a key strategy in preserving historically valuable library materials to ensure their accessibility for future generations. With proper management and supportive policies, the conservation of Bung Hatta’s collection can be sustained. These efforts also reflect the library’s commitment to safeguarding national cultural heritage and reinforcing its role as a center of historical literacy. THE ROLE AND AUTHORITY OF SATPOL PP IN REGULATING STREET VENDORS ACCORDING TO QANUN NO. 3 OF 2007 AND HAQQ AL-MURŪR (A Study in the City of Banda Aceh)

Legally, Qanun of Banda Aceh City No. 3 of 2007 provides a clear legal foundation for the local government, through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), to regulate, guide, and control street vendors (PKL). Satpol PP holds the authority to maintain and uphold public order by the mandate of the qanun. In practice, however, many street vendors in Banda Aceh still operate in areas that disrupt public order, such as sidewalks, parks, and other public spaces. Haqq al-Murūr means right of passage or right to the road, referring to a person's right to use public roads or spaces, such as alleys, streets, or other communal areas. Therefore, this study examines the extent of Satpol PP's role and authority in enforcing order over street vendors in Banda Aceh City. The study uses a descriptive method with an empirical juridical approach to address this issue. The findings conclude that the implementation of Qanun No. 3 of 2007 has generally moved toward achieving public order, but still faces significant challenges in fully embodying the values of Haqq al-Murūr. One of the main issues is that street vendors continue to sell in prohibited areas because they consider the designated relocation sites unstrategic and feel that enforcement is unfair, especially when formal shops are still allowed to use the roadside for commercial purposes. Therefore, public policies should be strengthened to become more people-centered, so that law enforcement is not only legal but also ethical, moral, and beneficial for all parties involve

IMPLEMENTATION OF SHARIA PRINCIPLES IN THE SETTLEMENT OF MURABAHAH FINANCING DEFAULT AT PT BPRS TAMAN INDAH DARUSSALAM

Financing is a core activity in Islamic banking that plays a crucial role in supporting economic growth. In practice, some customers have defaulted on murabahah financing for motorcycle purchases at PT BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam from 2019 to 2021. These defaults took the form of continuous late payments and payment arrears, resulting in the temporary suspension of the repayment process. This study focuses on the concept and implementation of the murabahah agreement applied by PT BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam, the forms and causes of customer default, and its impact on bank stability. The method used is qualitative with a legal-empirical approach, through direct interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. The study results indicate that customer default is characterized by late payments caused by a decline in income and negligence, which disrupts cash flow and increases financing risks. PT BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam implements resolution through a phased approach, starting from consultation, formal notice, imposition of penalties, to restructuring. Under Islamic law, default in a murabahah agreement is considered a breach of trust that must be resolved fairly. In contrast, under civil law, negligent customers may be subject to penalties such as compensation or enforcement of collateral. Implementing murabahah agreements generally aligns with Sharia principles, but further strengthening is needed in customer selection and risk management. It is recommended that banks tighten their initial assessment processes, enhance Islamic financial literacy for customers, and strengthen monitoring systems and educational approaches to reduce the default rate
