    Nilai-Nilai Luhur Bagi Orang Bajo di Desa Tapi-Tapi Kecamatan Marobo Kabupaten Muna

    This study aims to explore and describe the Bajo people\u27s perspectives on traditional values and how these values are implemented in their daily lives in Tapi-Tapi Village, Marobo District, Muna Regency. The research employs an ethnographic method, with data collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews. The analysis is based on Koentjaraningrat’s (1984) theory of cultural values, which emphasizes the importance of values as social guidelines within a community. The findings reveal that the Bajo community upholds deeply rooted traditional values passed down through generations. The value of responsibility is reflected in practices such as sipakkulong (mutual support in livelihood) and mapulus jamaah itu dolo modi bunang (completing assigned tasks). In terms of social care, they emphasize nggai kole sikalasa kadadarua (avoiding misunderstandings), sitabangang (mutual assistance in work), and nggai kole mangasora’dialo (avoiding destruction of the sea), which indicate strong communal and ecological awareness. Honesty is reflected in nggai kole malaponggang aha sadiri (not lying), while independence is shown in ngajama diriang (working independently). The implementation of these values is evident in various social activities, including si tuluh (mutual help), dianggo (mutual respect), sitabangang (cooperation), and bapongka (group fishing). These values not only maintain social harmony but also strengthen solidarity and cooperation within the Bajo community, especially as a coastal society dependent on marine resources

    Keberadaan masyarakat transmigran Bali di Desa Jati Bali Kabupaten Konawe Selatan membawa kekhasan tersendiri. Eksistensi ritual mecaru bernuansa Bali menjadi pelengkap nilai eksotik masyarakatnya yang hidup di tengah-tengah daratan Sulawesi Tenggara. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk menelusuri bagaimana ritual ini bertahan, berubah, atau mungkin mengalami penurunan makna di tengah tantangan zaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan historis. Penelitian ini mengacu pada metode penulisan sejarah yang mencakup empat tahapan utama: heuristik (pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan tokoh adat, warga, serta generasi muda transmigran Bali, dan studi pustaka terhadap literatur dan dokumen arsip), kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Rentang waktu 1968–2023 digunakan sebagai kerangka periodisasi untuk menelusuri secara kronologis jejak, perubahan, dan kesinambungan praktik mecaru dalam konteks sosial budaya masyarakat transmigran Bali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya mecaru pada masyarakat Bali yang bertransmigrasi di Sulawesi Tenggara menandakan kebertahanan eksistensi budayanya. Penelitian ini membahas dinamika pelaksanaan mecaru pada masyarakat transmigran Bali di Desa Jati Bali sejak tahun 1968 hingga 2023. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat kesenjangan antara harapan pelestarian budaya leluhur dengan kenyataan di lapangan, di mana modernisasi, perubahan generasi, dan interaksi budaya dengan masyarakat lokal mulai memengaruhi intensitas dan makna pelaksanaan tradisi mecaru

    This study seeks to identify the development of the Raja Kecik Beach tourist attraction, including the elements of social capital, and to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each element of social capital. This type of research uses qualitative methods. The subjects in this research were four people. The author uses a purposive technique in determining research subjects. The author collected primary data from interviews and observations, while secondary data was documents. This research shows that the involvement of various parties, such as community groups, village governments, and tourism organizations, creates synergy in developing tourist attractions. Trust between community members and tourism managers plays a key role in managing Raja Kecik Beach. Apart from that, the existing norms at Raja Kecik Beach include religious norms and cultural norms that have been in effect for generations. However, the sanctions imposed on violators of these regulations are still limited to social sanctions and warnings. In developing the tourist attraction, Raja Kecik Beach has strengths and weaknesses; the most prominent strengths are the strength of networks and trust, while norms are weak when viewed from the process of developing the tourist attraction. The following strengths in developing the Raja Kecik Beach tourist attraction are support from the village government, district government in developing the Raja Kecik Beach tourist attraction, and support from related agencies

    Strategi Koping Maladaptif Lansia Jepang: Tindakan Kriminalitas sebagai Upaya Bertahan di Tengah Keterbatasan

    The increasing elderly population in Japan has contributed to a significant rise in elderly criminality in recent years. This study aims to analyze how criminal behavior functions as a coping mechanism among elderly Japanese, particularly those affected by poverty and loneliness. A literature study and descriptive analysis were employed using data from various sources such as TBS News, CNN World, FBS Fukuoka News, previous research, scientific articles, books, and other relevant references. Data were processed qualitatively using categorization techniques, including open, axial, and selective coding. The findings reveal that criminal acts committed by the elderly reflect a dominance of emotion-focused coping strategies, namely, escape-avoidance, emotional distancing, and a combination of both. Elderly individuals facing economic hardships, such as the loss of income post-retirement or imbalances between income and living costs, tend to commit minor crimes to be incarcerated and meet their basic needs. Meanwhile, those experiencing psychological distress such as loneliness, social isolation, and lack of familial affection often choose imprisonment as a means of withdrawing from a distressing reality. A combination of avoidance and emotional distancing was found among elderly individuals facing both economic and psychological pressures. Prison is perceived as a safe space that offers basic facilities and social interaction, thereby contributing to the phenomenon of repeat offenses or recidivism among the elderly. In conclusion, criminal behavior among elderly Japanese can be understood as a maladaptive coping strategy emerging in response to an inability to positively cope with life’s limitations

    The objective of this study is to gain insight into the challenges that female traveling junjung fish vendors encounter while selling fish and strategize solutions for resolving these issues while also assisting with household chores. This study interprets the data through the lens of Carol Steack\u27s (1974) perspective on social organizations. The present study employs observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as methods of data collection. The findings of this study indicate that women engaged in the trade of junjung fish in Gunung Jati Village fulfill their domestic responsibilities while performing their labor, which consists of selling fish. As a result, these women are capable of providing economic assistance to their families. Female vendors of junjung fish encounter challenges such as purchasers seeking to borrow funds and weariness from arduous mountain ascending. In order to address this issue, the women who sell junjung fish in Gunung Jati Village have devised a strategy: in the event that they experience fatigue while ascending the mountain, they will pause for an estimated duration of one to five minutes along the side of the road to refuel. Additionally, they have devised a method to appease customers who persistently seek financial assistance: persuade purchasers that if the junjung fish vendors consent to indebtedness on their fish, they will receive a refun

    This research aims to determine: the social relations between collectors and catch fishermen in Torokeku Village, as well as to find out the importance of social relations formed between catch fishermen and collectors in Torokeku Village. This research uses social capital theory according to Francis Fukuyama. The method in this research is ethnography with a data collection method combining participant observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The community environment in Torokeku Village, Tinanggea District, has relationships that occur, starting from one individual to another. The results of the research show that the social relations between collectors and fishermen in Torokeku Village go through several things; First, accounts payable. Fishermen in Torokeku Village have practiced paying debts to collectors so they can carry out fishing activities. There are several fishermen who practice debt and receivables in Torokeku Village, namely, collectors with fishermen who catch fish, collectors with fishermen who catch crabs, and collectors with fishermen who catch sea cucumbers. Second, buying and selling. Buying and selling between collectors and fishermen who catch fish, collectors and fishermen who catch sea cucumbers, and collectors and fishermen who catch crabs. Apart from that, the lives of fishermen are not free from reciprocal relationships, such as between collectors and captured fishermen who always form a bond or relationship that occurs continuously. The relationship that exists is based on each other\u27s abilities and expertise with agreed terms. Social relations between collectors and fishermen in Torokeku Village are formed by several factors, namely supporting factors such as being influenced by ethnic relations, kinship, trust, friendship, neighbor relations and professional factors

    Traditional ceremonies can be a characteristic of a society because they are the result of the culture created by that society. This research aims to find out and describe the reasons why the Kalili ritual is still maintained and the process of implementing the Kalili ritual. This research uses a qualitative description method with an ethnographic approach. The results of the research show that the Mokobeau Community still maintains the Kalili ritual to this day. This ritual aims to facilitate the fortunes of married couples, speed up the birth of offspring, and ensure that their children will not fall ill easily in the future. The process of carrying out the Kalili ritual is that the husband carries a toddler belonging to someone else and is male, then followed by ten women who are married and have carried out the Kalili. The Kalili participants will walk around the house seven times, namely to the right four times and to the left three times. The process of going around the house is led by a bhisa. After that, the Kalili participants will go up to the house and continue several ritual processions, namely kabanti carried out by Bhisa, handing over the child to the wife, blowing out candles, fighting over ketupat, and katuturai. The meaning of this procession is that the husband and wife will quickly have children, and the good fortune they get will continue to be distributed

    Penelitian ini membahas tentang kajian bilingualisme pada mahasiswa Program tudi Sastra Inggris dalam diskusi kelompok berbahasa Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk bilingualisme yang ditemukan dalam interaksi mahasiswa pada diskusi kelompok. Data penelitian ini berupa ujaran-ujaran yang mengandung fenomena bilingualisme. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap, peneliti hanya menyimak atau memperhatikan dengan seksama dan mendengarkan apa yang diujarkan oleh mahasiswa dalam diskusi yang diikuti rekam dan catat. Teknik tersebut digunakan untuk   mendokumentasi dan mencatat setiap kalimat yang termasuk dalam kategori bilingualisme. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam diskusi kelompok ditemukan kalimat yang termasuk kategori bilingualism berupa campur kode antara Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia. Campur kode yang ditemukan pada diskusi kelompok mahasiswa berupa kata dan frasa serta pembentukan kata dari proses morfologis dari kedua bahasa tersebut.Penelitian ini membahas tentang kajian bilingualisme pada mahasiswa Program tudi Sastra Inggris dalam diskusi kelompok berbahasa Indonesia.     Interaksi sosial merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Pada umumnya tiap anggota masyarakat melakukan hubungan atau interaksi dengan yang lainnya dalam waktu yang berkelanjutan. Pada karya sastra juga dapat ditemukan pola atau bentuk interaksi sosial karena karya sastra merupakan gambaran atau cerminan dari peristiwa sosial yang ada dalam masyarakat. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi sosial dalam novel Calabai: Perempuan dalam Tubuh Lelaki karya Pepi Al-Bayqunie dengan menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini berasal dari kata atau frasa dalam novel yang menunjukkan interaksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Calabai: Perempuan dalam Tubuh Lelaki karya Pepi Al-Bayqunie terdapat interaksi sosial, baik interaksi sesama individu atau kelompok. Interaksi sosial yang ditemukan yakni interaksi sosial yang menggambarkan kerja sama, akomodasi, asimilasi, pertikaian, dan persaingan

    This study aims to analyze the instability of the structure odf the text in “300†movie directed by Zack Snyder applied of deconstruction theory. Deconstruction is method of reading very carefully so that the instability in structure of the text can be found. Deconstruction also allowed the multiple meanings in the text. The result of study showed that the narration constructed the binary opposition between east and west. The narration does not change the lost of Spartan by Persian, but dictates much of the culture and life of the eastern peoples with orientalism point of view. This research use descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data, with the object of research itself which is supported by journals and literary works. The source of the data is ““300â€â€ movie and narration raised from Battle of Thermopylae history, directed by Zack Snyder which is released in 2006. The researcher had done the research with deconstructed the grand narrative and found the other truth of the narration. The narrator dictated eastern with western point of view in many aspects that created and put The East as the hierarchy in narrative structure. This study sums up that the narrator try to change the understanding of the eastern nation and also try to dictated the eastern people through the perspectives and limitations of western understanding about the eastern itself and by the deconstruction theory. The movie narration could be seen with the better understanding and with the awareness of the presence of other meanings
