    This research aims to find out and describe the fish distribution network at the Sodohoa Fish Landing Base (PPI) Kendari City as well as knowing and describing the transportation process for distributing fishermen\u27s catches outside the city. The theory used in this research is Zanden Ruddy Agusyanto\u27s theory of Social Networks (1990). Meanwhile, the research method used is an ethnographic method which is carried out by observation and interviews interviews with the aim that the data obtained can be studied in a qualitative descriptive manner. Based on the results of this study, PPI Sodohoa has 5 (five) distribution network strating from, namely involving fishermen, pappalele/bosses, collecting traders, retailers/traveling traders, wholesale traders (fish sellers in various fish markets in Kendari city) , and final consumers (housewives). Among the various forms of distribution, the increasing number of parties involved in the distribution process will certainly increase the price depending on the first hand to the end consumer. The process of transporting fish to distribute fishermen\u27s catches at the Sodohoa Fish Landing Base (PPI) Kendari City, namely the fishermen\u27s catch is handed over to the papalele/boss then sorted based on the type of fish, size of fish and level of freshness of the fish, then put into baskets, after which it is sold to traders fish on PPI. The production of the catch landed at PPI Sodoha, Kendari City, is entirely fish that is still fresh and of good quality. Furthermore, the process of transporting fish out of town is carried out by inter-city traders using cars or trucks and crossing using ferries which will be sent to Makassar and West Sulawesi

    This research aims to determine the influence and causes of the fading use of the Tolaki language among teenagers in Sampara District in Konawe Regency. The selection of informants in this research used purposive techniques. This research uses Bronislaw Malinowski\u27s theory of Cultural Diffusion (1944). The data collection technique used in this research is field research techniques using observation and in-depth interviews. This research is qualitative research using ethnographic research methods. The results of this research show that: First, there are several things that make the teenagers there unable to speak Tolaki, namely because of several external and internal factors. The internal factor is the family. Meanwhile, external factors are school and playmates. Second, because of their childhood habits, most of them are not taught from childhood, which makes it difficult for them to know their own regional language. This means that the teenagers there no longer use the regional language Tolaki but use the common language Indonesian

    A Semiotic Analysis of Denotative and Connotative Meanings in The Hustle Movie

    The research discusses the denotative and connotative meanings in the movie The Hustle, based on Barthes’s theory. The objective of this research is to describe how denotative and connotative meanings are conveyed in the film The Hustle, utilizing Barthes’s theory. To support the research, the researcher adds additional theory retrieved from Dickins (2019) to identify the types of connotative meanings that appear. The descriptive qualitative method is used in this study. The source of data is based on the Hustle movie. The data was gathered by downloading, watching, reading, identifying, and coding. The data were analyzed by presenting, describing, interpreting, and concluding the data analysis results. As a result of the analysis, it can be concluded that in the Hustle movie, denotation describes the literal meaning of the things the researcher found in this movie, and connotation describes the underlying, deeper messages. The use of denotation and connotation words reveals the characters’ traits, indicating that Penny’s personality is that of a casual person. In contrast, Josephine’s personality is more formal, preferring to speak correctly. The researcher also found that the Hustle movie features several scenes that perpetuate stereotypes. The picture illustrates a stereotype prevalent in a particular country. Messages or feelings that a film evokes cause the movie’s audience to experience a range of emotions while watching it

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek sosiologi pengarang yang tergambar dalam kumpulan cerpen Analanggai karya Zakiyah M. Husba. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah teori sosiologi pengarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Data dari penelitian ini berupa data tertulis, berupa kata, klausa, dan kalimat yang diambil dari kutipan yang menunjukkan adanya aspek sosiologi pengarang dalam cerpen Analanggai, Dermaga Terakhir, Pulang, Perempuan Pesisir, dan Tentang Raya dalam kumpulan cerpen Analanggai karya Zakiyah M. Husba. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu data wawancara dan lima buah cerpen dalam kumpulan cerpen Analanggai karya Zakiyah M. Husba yang diterbitkan oleh Sekarlangit, Kendari, tahun 2019 dengan tebal 144 halaman. Hasil penelitian ini adalah gambaran mengenai kekayaan budaya dan keindahan wisata dari daerah Sulawesi Tenggara sebagai latar belakang sosial pengarang serta asumsi mengenai isu pendidikan dimana pengarang bertindak sebagai suara yang perlu didengar dari daerah Sulawesi Tenggara. Aspek sosiologi pengarang yaitu latar belakang sosial pengarang sebagai orang yang tinggal di daerah Sulawesi Tenggara yang tergambar dalam kumpulan cerpen Analanggai sekaligus pengarang sebagai perempuan yang sudah berkeluarga dan memiliki anak. Sumber ekonomi pengarang sebagai pegawai kantor bahasa yang tergambar dalam cerpen Dermaga Terakhir, Pulang, dan Tentang Raya. Ideologi Pengarang yang feminim yang tergambar pada tokoh perempuan dalam cerpen Analanggai, Dermaga Terakhir, Pulang, Perempuan Pesisir, dan Tentang Raya.     The Rukat Bumi tradition in Tlekung Village and Sukun Village holds deep cultural significance for the local community. However, challenges to its sustainability cannot be overlooked. This study aims to: (1) explain the implementation of Rukat Bumi in Tlekung Village and Sukun Village, and (2) explain adaptive strategies to preserve its cultural identity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study finds that Rukat Bumi in Tlekung Village is conducted in a pavilion where the community gathers for a communal meal. In contrast, in Sukun Village, that tradition involves a procession through the village streets, featuring offerings of crops, particularly a large tumpeng. To ensure the continuity of Rukat Bumi, several adaptive strategies have emerged, including (a) education, (b) leveraging social media, (c) collaboration with various stakeholders, and (d) the development of creative products. Addressing the challenges faced by Rukat Bumiin both locations has significant implications for cultural preservation. Moreover, implementing adaptive strategies not only sustains cultural identity but also fosters an inclusive space for that tradition to thrive across generations

    Oil mining in Wonocolo Village, Bojonegoro Regency, uses simple technology that can be viewed from an ethnoecological perspective. Although the technology applied is relatively simple, mining activities still cause negative impacts on the environment. However, community knowledge about environmental management can reduce these impacts. The research method used was qualitative with an observation, interview and literature study approach, involving the village head, mine workers, mine owners and the surrounding community. The results showed that the community has a deep understanding of the ecosystem and oil mining practices. They try to maintain the balance of nature through developed customary norms, such as planting trees and soaking wells after use. This practice reflects the concept of ethnoecology, in which the community tries to maintain harmony between the natural and social environment. This high ecological awareness indicates the important role of local traditions in reducing the negative impacts of mining activities

    This research was conducted to find out how the knowledge of the Muna tribe on kameko in Kabangka Village, Kabangka District, Muna Regency and how the utilization of kameko in the Muna tribe in Kabangka Village, Kabangka District, Muna Regency. The methods used in this research are purposive sampling for the selection of informants, interview and observation methods for the data collection process in the field, and qualitative descriptive methods for examining information by utilizing point-by-point depiction of research results to answer the problems considered. The results concluded that Kameko is one of the traditional drinks originating from Southeast Sulawesi Province which is usually served in every traditional cultural ritual that still exists today. Kameko, which is made from fermented nira and mangrove wood, can contain alcohol. Talking about kameko drinks in Kabangka Village, there are many komeko which are used as their daily livelihoods such as, in terms of public knowledge on kameko, one of which is in terms of tapping, maintaining kameko and fermentation, the second is public knowledge in the utilization of kameko such as kameko can be used as a traditional drink of arak type, as brown sugar, health, people in Kabangka Village in utilizing kameko still use simple traditional tools

    The research aims to find out and explain the reasons why students choose to work as sellers of fried chicken, as well as to find out and explain how students plan to spend their time between went to college and worked as a fried chicken seller. The number of research informants was nine people. The dramaturgical theory developed by Erving Goffman was used in this research. This research is qualitative research that uses observation and in-depth interviews.The research results show that students choose to work as fried chicken sellers for several reasons: financial needs, filling their free time, gaining work experience, hobbies, and independent study. Meanwhile, the way students manage their time between studying and working as fried chicken sellers is by making a detailed, consistent and disciplined schedule, avoiding postponing their coursework or work, and using their rest time well

    The tradition of bhuju\u27 malem or ju\u27aji is a unique tradition in Karanganyar village that is still carried out today. This tradition is carried out as a form of respect for ancestors, an expression of gratitude for Allah\u27s blessings. It reflects Islamic values and an effort to maintain local cultural identity in this modern era. The purpose of writing this article is to reveal the Islamic religious values contained in this tradition and introduce this tradition. This research method uses a qualitative approach with phenomenology and data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the bhuju’ malem tradition contains Islamic religious values, namely the value of worship in this tradition is reflected in the activities of reading the Qur’an, tahlil, and prayers together, sharing food, and strengthening ukhuwah Islamiyah. Therefore, this unique tradition is preserved and maintained to protect it from the rapid flow of globalization, which can dilute the authenticity and value of culture. This research will provide scientific information about Islamic values contained in local traditions and provide awareness to the community to continue preserving local culture
