Otočenje in migracije zaradi spremembe življenjskega sloga na otoku Hvaru
The paper analyses lifestyle migration on the island of Hvar through the lens of an ethnographic approach. The diversity of migratory experiences among the interviewees, who were interviewed for the purposes of this research, is examined through the concept of insularisation, approached as a profoundly ambivalent phenomenon encompassing both distancing and isolation, as well as the need for connection and integration into the rhythm of island communities. Through the concept of insularisation, the authors explore the discrepancy between imagined ideas about islands and their Mediterranean identity, and the practical experiences of lifestyle migrants, which highlight various obstacles and challenges. This approach enables a more nuanced understanding of the concept of lifestyle migration and the connections formed with the notion of islandness.
This article presents an examination of the mutually constitutive relationship between remoteness and connectivity in the alpine tourist destination of Bohinj in Slovenia. Building upon existing ethnographic explorations of remoteness and tourism imaginaries, the author explores how the alpine locality of Bohinj has been continually made and remade as an out-of-the-way tourist destination and how the imaginary of remoteness presents itself in everyday life, which is analysed through the lens of tourism seasonality.V članku avtorica raziskuje vzajemno konstitutivno razmerje med odročnostjo in povezanostjo v alpski turistični destinaciji Bohinj v Sloveniji. Na podlagi etnografskih raziskav odmaknjenosti in turističnih imaginarijev avtorica preučuje, kako se Bohinj nenehno ustvarja in preoblikuje kot odročna turistična destinacija in kako se imaginarij odročnosti predstavlja v vsakdanjem življenju, analiziranem skozi prizmo turistične sezonskosti

The Way to a New Catholic translation of the Bible (2024) between Theory and Practice
A major challenge for any annotated translation of the Bible is the problem of textual criticism of the original text in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. The second challenge is the two-thousand-year tradition of hermeneutics and the specific needs of contemporary general and biblical scholarship. The third major challenge is the development of the language of translation, which is increasingly rich in philological studies, literature and literary criticism. Between 1980 and 2024, we have produced two translations of the Bible. In 1996, an annotated ecumenical translation of the Bible was published, which was subtitled the “Slovene Standard Translation” (SSP). This translation was prepared partly ad verbum, partly ad sensum, because some translators consciously altered the style of the original, despite the different agreement. In the preparation of the introductions, notes, references and appendices at the end of the book, we have relied mainly on the 1977 French Ecumenical Translation of the Bible (TOB). From 2006 to 2024, we have been working very carefully on a new annotated translation with the mandate of the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference. Thus, after decades of anticipation, we have the final version of the official translation of the Bible, which will be the basis for liturgical manuals and study purposes. This translation follows the principle of an exact translation from the original on the linguistic, semantic and literary level, and adheres to the world-wide French La Bible de Jérusalem (BJ) of 2000 in terms of the basic structure of the texts and the breakdown with intermediate headings. This edition has also been followed in the compilation and editing of the introductions, notes, references and extensive appendices at the end of the book. Our new, official translation of the Bible does not, however, abolish the previous, ecumenical translation, but complements it in all essential respects. This is evident from the fact that the same scholars from the whole French-speaking world have been involved in both types of commentary. The new Slovenian translation of the Bible complements and surpasses the French edition in the range of references and the consistency of the redaction system
Rajhman\u27s Entries in Slovenian Lexicons
Jože Rajhman (1924–1998) velja zaradi prevladujočega poglobljenega teološkega in literarnozgodovinskega raziskovanja še posebej Trubarjevega življenja in dela za t. i. »trubarologa«. Rajhmanova gesla so objavljena predvsem v temeljnih slovenskih leksikonih, kot so Slovenska književnost (1996), Enciklopedija Slovenije (1987, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1995), Slovenski biografski leksikon (1982) ter Katehetsko-pedagoški leksikon (1992).Jože Rajhman (1924–1998) is considered a »Trubarologist« for his predominantly in-depth theological and literary-historical research, especially on Trubar\u27s life and work. The paper presents the significance of Rajhman\u27s published entries in Slovenian lexicons, among which those related to Slovenian Protestantism of the 16th century and older Slovenian literature are quantitatively predominant. The subject matter of Rajhman\u27s entries can be divided into two major groups, namely factual entries related to Slovenian Protestantism and other factual entries, and biographical entries of Slovenian Protestants as well as other actors connected with this period, and other biographical entries of older Slovenian literature. Rajhman\u27s entries have been published mainly in the basic Slovenian lexicons, such as Slovenian Literature (1996), the Encyclopaedia of Slovenia (1987, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1995), the Slovenian Biographical Lexicon (1982) and the Catechetical and Pedagogical Lexicon (1992).
Representation and Conflicts. Transformations of Polish Studies at the Turn of the 20th and 21st Centuries
Članek obravnava premene polonistike v zadnjih tridesetih letih. Dogajale so se kot posledica trojnega odpiranja: a) k neliterarnim medijem (film, televizija, radio, internet); b) k obtoku nižjih žanrov kulture (popularna kultura); c) k manjšinskim kulturam znotraj poljske kulture (z etničnega vidika: židovska, litovska, ukrajinska, beloruska, romska, češka, slovaška, nemška kultura; z razrednega vidika: delavska in podeželska kultura; z vidika družbenega spola in queer – kulture spolnih in seksualnih manjšin). The article discusses the transformations of Polish Studies over the last thirty years. They occurred as a result of a threefold opening: a) to media other than literature (film, television, radio, the Internet); b) to popular culture; c) to minority cultures within Polish culture (in ethnic terms – Jewish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Roma, Czech, Slovak, German cultures; in class terms – worker and rural cultures; in gender and queer terms – gender and sexual minority cultures). The expansion of the area of research and didactics gives Polish studies greater autonomy (it can take up problems in media studies, the history of political systems, economics, sociology, medicine...), but at the same time confronts Polish studies with numerous past and present conflicts (class, ethnic, gender). The revised approach to conflicts is to draw them into research and didactics, and transform them into a key challenge of the discipline
Pronunciation Features of Borrowed Czech Proper Name Lexis in Slovene
V prispevku so predstavljene nekatere izgovorne značilnosti prevzete češke lastnoimenske leksike v knjižni slovenščini. Najprej so navedene osnovne naglasne značilnosti, temu sledi prikaz izgovornih prilagoditev češkega samoglasniškega in soglasniškega sestava v slovenščini. This article presents some pronunciation features of the borrowed Czech proper name lexis in standard Slovene. First, the basic accent features are listed, followed by a description of the pronunciation adaptations of Czech vowel and consonant composition in Slovene. The article also contains an empirical part, as we used an online perceptual test to determine the accent placement and quality of the stressed e and o in some borrowed proper name units from Czech
