    DISCOVERY LEARNING IN TEACHING REPORT WRITING FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BASED ON 2013 CURRICULUM

    This study focuses on how the implementation of DL in teaching report writing for junior high school students based on 2013 curriculum. It has three research questions: (1)how is the implementation of DL in teaching report writing, (2) how are the students’ responses towards DL during the teaching learning of report writing, (3) how is the students’ writing report after taught by implementation of DL.This study used qualitative research. It focuses on natural setting, has an interest in meaning, the perspective emphasizes on a process, concern with an inductive analysis and grounded theory. The data collection techniques are observation and interview to anstablewer the first and second research questions, and documentation to answer first and third research questions.The result of this study reveals when teaching report writing, the teacher implements DL which is relevant and appropriate with the theories. He uses six steps, (1) stimulation (2) problem statement (3) data collection (4) data processing (5) verification (6) generalization. The students’ responses are positive in five steps, except data processing, the students’ response is negative, because of limited time. In all of the writing, the teacher gives his comments. It makes students pay attention to their result, and know their mistakes as motivational correction for them. All of students’ score isstill high of the standard score

    The ability of students of Department of Arabic Language Education IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin in recite the nushus without a vowel in accordance with the rules nahwiyyah or sharfiyyah is imperative that demands urgent especially when students use the references in Arabic and when they teach in the field of practice at schools. However, there were frequent errors in certain functions, although the subject that supports the ability to read nushus not use harakat like nahwu, sharf, tarjamah, balagha, Maharat al lughawiah been programmed. Using quantitative descriptive study with an analysis of the value and errors that appear in the test results, the authors describe the general ability of students in reading nushus without a vowel is still classified as moderate with an average value of 73.23. As for the errors that frequently arise when giving a vowel of a word or phrase that serves as mudhaf ilaih, maf'ul bih, man'ut while the most frequent word that serves as khabar and mudhaf ilaih. The results of this study as information for teachers on students' ability to read nushus without a vowel and errors that often arise when the process is underway. This study is very significant in evaluating and improving learning outcomes as well as the deepening of designing materials based on the results of analysis errors. The authors recommended the bid in order to facilitate students in reading nushus without a vowel is by analysis of the functional structure are arranged in a sentence with a simple model

    A PHONOLOGICAL ANALYSIS ON MADURESE ENGLISH TEACHER’S PRONUNCIATION IN READING AN ENGLISH TEXT

    This study concerns on a phonological analysis on Madurese English teacher?s pronunciation in reading an English text. The writer identified kinds of oscillographic pronunciation made by Madurese English teachers in reading an English text, the differences of oscillographic pronunciation between Madurese English teachers and that of the English native speaker in reading an English text and how Madurese language characteristics influences Madurese English teachers? pronunciation. In the process of data collection, she used descriptive qualitative. She observed and recorded the Madurese English teachers?pronunciation by using MP4 then analysed it by using Praat program version 4027. Then, she found that in reading the English text entitled „insomnia?, the oscillographic pronunciation of Subject 2 and Subject 3 when it is compared to subject 1 is different and makes different meaning, but for some words, it is slightly different but it does not make different meaning. Furthermore, it is found that Madurese language characteristics influence Subject 2 and Subject 3 in reading the English text. Therefore, in reading it, they made some sound changes: vowel, consonant and diphthong. The sound changes are: 1). the vowel changes: ???????;???, ???????;???, ???????, ???????;???;???, ???????;???;???, ???????, 2). the consonant changes: ???????, ????????, ???????, ???????, 3). the diphthong changes: ????????;???, ????????;???;???, ????????, ????????, ????????;???. In reading it, it is found that subject 2 and subject 3 also made deletion and addition. It is, thus, concluded that the pronunciation of subject 2 and subject 3 are unintelligible because they often mispronounce which can make their students do not understand their saying

    One of the factors that are important to achieve the goals of mathematics learning is a way of thinking students during learning. One of the processes used are intuitive thinking. Intuitive thinking is a cognitive process that led to the idea as a strategy for making decisions in solving problems. Spontaneous answers both written and oral expression so that students solve mathematical problems without the use of analytical thinking. The purpose of this study was to describe the solution to overcome the lack of mathematics achievement by means of intuitive thinking. The method used is qualitative to describe the solution of the subject in intuitive thinking. The subject was the four student of class VIII. Subjects using antisipatory intuitive ways of thinking that is contrary to the alleged problem solving in general and included in the global components and perception because it produces the correct answer with the solution

    This study aims to determine the reversibility ability of the seventh-grade students in making the linear equations. This ability is known after all students complete ten questions given and some students selected to be interviewed. Instrument test findings, in the form of 10 questions reversibility capability that has valid and reliable. The subjects were 29 students of class VIII 1 in MTS Negeri Pagedangan in the academic year 2015/2016. Interviews conducted to see student's ability to create a linear equation.As a result, most of the students have had the reversibility ability and the biggest difficulties of students in making similarity equation when its variable in the middle of the equation.

    This study aim to develop an application using visual basic programming to facilitate the formation of cooperative groups and to investigate the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of the development of this application. This research method including R&D performed with 6 stage, consists of: the potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, improved of design, and test products. The results showed that the yield of the IT media expert validation amounted to 82.5% and validation of learning experts is 92.86%. In addition, the results of the questionnaire responses test of subjects each amounted 83.33% for the first test subjects and 91.67% for the second test subjects. Seeing these findings, it can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning group formation using visual basic can be said to be very feasible to be used as a tool for the establishment of cooperative learning groups

    Ecology education is effort to conserve ecology by teaching it formally. Ecology education is not a course independently. But it can be integrated with the other learning course in school. The aim of this research is to know carrying out of 4 execution standarts of ecology education on SDN 3 Bangunsari Ponorogo to be sekolah adiwiyata. This research is descriptive qualitative research to describe four program standart in adiwiyata. Data collection method that is used in this research is questionare, observation, and documentation. The resulths indicate that: 1) the implementation of Adiwiyata program on SDN 3 Bangunsari Ponorogo has run well by adiwiyata 4 program standarts has been fulfilled, 2) The instance has carried out its duty and authority well by motivating and supporting for running well annually. It is discovered little obstacle especially concerning with finance. However, school has made a strategic action too overcome that obstacle

    TEACHING WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXTS TO THE EIGHTH YEAR STUDENTS: “PUT YOURSELF IN THE PICTURE” ACTIVITY

    Writing is considered as a complicated and difficult skill to be mastered by the students. Several difficulties are found in learning of descriptive writing. Dealing with the case, the research questions are proposed as follows: (1) How is “Put Yourself in the Picture” activity implemented by the teacher in teaching descriptive texts? and (2) How are the results of the students in writing descriptive texts in the aspects of grammar, vocabulary, content and organization through the implementation of “Put Yourself in the Picture” activity? This research is qualitative design in which the researcher acted as the observer to collect information as the evidences in the writing class to find the teacher’s and students’ activities in implementing “Put Yourself in the Picture” activity in the three stages of teaching learning process in writing descriptive texts. The results of the research showed that the teacher and the students implemented “Put Yourself in the Picture” activity in some of the these activities, as follows: (1) introducing the essay topic; (2) listing the words or phrases relating to the topic; (3) Making sentences based on the listed ideas; (4) identifying the generic structures and language features of descriptive text; (5) Writing the descriptive text; (6) Making groups and giving feedbacks of the writing’ results; (7) Editing and re writing the final drafts. Besides, the students’ learning writing progresses are described into five categories. They are (1) very good student’s score category; (2) good student’s score category; (3) fair student’s score category; (4) poor student’s score category; and (5) very poor student’ score category. These criteria are based on the students’ writing results analyzed in the aspects of grammar, vocabulary, content, and organization
