Get PDFThis study stems from the problems experienced by the Arabic language teacher in the Amanatul Ummah Pacet Islamic Boarding School. Listening skill is one of the most important language skills, because this skill is the basic skill in communication. Through istening skills, students will get a lot of vocabularies, learns patterns of sentences and structures, receives ideas and concepts, and acquires other skills of language, speaking, reading and writing. Therefore, the researcher wanted to know the effectiveness of the Madarij durus Arabiyah book of Sheikh Mohammed Basri Alawi on students’ listening skill. The methodology of this researchis experimental with pre-test and post-test in one group. And the result of this research indicate that Madarij Durus Arabiyah book is effective inimproving students’ listening abilities, students’ score before using Madarij Durus Arabiyah is 63and after using this book, students’ grade have increased to 96, then this increase is very good level.

Get PDFThe research type is Survey. This research was implemented in Education and Teaching Faculty of Sunan Ampel Islamic State University. The population of this research is all active regular program students of PGMI Department of Education and Teaching Faculty of Sunan Ampel Islamic State University amount to 492 students. Sampling technique that was used at this research is proportional cluster random sampling. The amount of students sample that be used on this research is 221 students. Data collecting techniques that be used on this research are documentation and questionare. Data analysis technique that be used on this research is descriptive statistic analysis. The results of this research are: 1) There are 38 (17,20%) students of PGMI Department of Education and Teaching Faculty of Sunan Ampel Islamic State University those who have very high level of self-efficacy, 47 students (21,27%) those who have high level of self-efficacy, 106 students (47,96%) those who have low level of self-efficacy, and 30 students (13,57%) those who have very low level of self-efficacy, So, majority of PGMI students have lower believe and judgement to their self-efficacy. 2) There are 35 (15,85%) students of PGMI Department of Education and Teaching Faculty of Sunan Ampel Islamic State University those who have very high level of self-regulated learning, 73 students (33%) those who have high level of self-regulated learning, 80 students (36, 21%) those who have low level of self-regulated learning, and 33 students (14,94%) those who have very low level of self-regulated learning . Thats, Majority of PGMI students have low ability to organize and axecute their learning process.

PROMOTING WRITING EXPERIENCES THROUGH LEARNING COMMUNITY TO TRIGGER STUDENTS IN WRITING

This is review study with analytic descriptive way by describing and discussing the related literature studies. It deals with writing experiences as the capital to write. While there is no experience, there is no writing. Learning community used in this study is the learning facility so that the students can learn how to write. More active in learning community, the student get the knowledge and experience of writing. Those become the inspiration for them to rewrite what to write.
ICE BREAKER: A STRATEGY TO ENHANCE STUDENT’S ABILITY IN SPEAKING OF ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL AT SAWIT SEBERANG, LANGKAT REGENCY
Get PDFThis research was aimed to enhance students’ speaking skill at eight grade students of Islamic Junior High School Sawit Seberang, Langkat Regency. The subject of this research was a class consisted of 40 students. The research consisted of two cycles. Each cycles consisted of two meetings. The object of this research was to enhance students’ speaking skill by the use of Ice Breaker strategy. This research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. Qualitative and Quantitative data were used in this research. The qualitative data while the quantitative data were taken from students’ score in Pre-Test, Post Test I, and Post-Test II. The result of analyzing data indicated that there was significance enhancement on students’ speaking skill after the use of Ice Breaker strategy. It can be seen from the students’ score in every cycle. In Pre-Test, there were only 30% (12 students) whose score up to 75. In Post-Test I, there was 52.5% on the percentage of students whose score up 75 (21 students), while in Post-Test II there were 80% students whose score up 75 (32 students). From data analysis, it showed that there was enhancement on students’ speaking skill. It can be seen from the mean of Post-Test II was 80.3. In other words, students’ speaking skill has enhanced. Based on the qualitative data, the students gave good responses and showed enthusiasm after the use of Ice Breaker strategy in speaking skill

No full textThis study was aimed at describing the student’ learning progress on decimals addition by a set of learning activitis based on Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education. This research method is design research which contain three stages, namely: preliminary design, design experiment and retrospective analysis. Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) has been designed to play an important role as learning design and research instrument. HLT was tested to 30 fourth grade students. The data were collected through interview, observation, and field notes. The findings of the research showed that this instructional design could stimulate students in the introduction of one digit decimal through the result of weight measurement, the use of the model that the students make themselves (model of) to describe the measurement results at the second level, and marking the result of the measurement to the number line and continued by describing the process of decimals addition from the measurement activity to the number line in the more formal level. Furthermore at the formal level, students are able to solve the problem of the decimals addition using the correct procedure that is the place value rule

The research using descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were 8th-grade students of SMP Al-Karimah Surabaya Data collection techniques used include tests, interviews, and documentation. While the object in this research is the test results of students of class VIII SMP Al-Karimah Surabaya in working TIMSS in Mathematics 2011 for the category of reasoning. The results of the error analysis of students in TIMSS 2011 can be summarized as follows: mistakes made by students are grouped into 3 types: a) Concept errors, b) Errors procedures, and c) Calculation error.
