It became one phenomenon occurred when lecturer changed one language (L1) into other language (L2) in one utterance. This was one kind of bilingualism named code switching. On this study, it focused on the types of code switching used by English lecturers in STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi.  The objective of this study was to identify the types of code switching used by English lecturers. This was descriptive research. The participants were four English lecturers who taught English I for the first semester students at STIE Muhammadiyah Jambi. There were 2 meetings for each class to be recorded their teaching activity and also analyzed. After analyzing, it was found that there were three main types of code switching which were tag switching, inter-sentential and intra-sentential. In inter-sentential code witching it was divided into 2 sub type which were metaphor and situational code switching. The percentages of those types were 21.54% of tag switching, 33.07% of metaphor,16.15% of situational (or 49.22% of inter-sentential), and 29.23% of intra-sentential. Based on those data, it could be concluded that metaphor of inter-sentential code switching is the highest type used by lecturers. It happened because the lecturers tend to emphasis on learning purpose.     &nbsp

This study aims to develop Monopoly Mathematics Media (Monomath) to learning mathematical probability exercises at junior high school. Using the ADDIE model consist of five phases - Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation to develop this Monomath Media. This Monomath has gone through validity, practicability, and effectiveness test. The result of this research showed that the Monomath obtained a total average score for all aspect were 78.1% of validity matter expert and 80.8% of validity media expert, which means the media is valid. In the feasibility, the study result obtained a total average score for all aspect was 82.5%, which means the media has met practical criteria. The field trials result were obtained an average score of 95.46 for the posttest. It is higher than pretest average score was 54.83. The result of the student questionnaire showed that an average score of 90% which means the student give a positive response to the Monomath they used. Thus, the result of Monomath to learning mathematical probability is valid, practical, and effective

This is qualitative research with a descriptive-explorative approach that aims to determine students' mathematical representation skills in solving Geometry problems. The population is all students in the mathematics education department who study Basic Geometry. The main subject was chosen by stratified technique and purposive sampling. The instruments are placement tests, diagnostic tests, and guided interviews. Data collection uses a triangulation method that aims to examine legitimate data. The results showed that 1) subjects with high skills always present visual representations and mathematical expressions, 2) subjects with intermediate skills present visual representations and mathematical expressions, and verbal but less representative representations, 3) subjects with low skills don’t present visual representations and mathematical expressions and verbal representations of problem-solving steps; and 4) there are several factors that influence the ability of mathematical representation to solve geometric problems, among others, subjects are less able to present problems in geometric patterns, because the subject does not understand the problem

Learning strategies are one effective way to achieve learning goals. Writing skills are skills that are quite difficult to learn by students, especially in expressing thoughts in written form due to less mastery of Arabic vocabulary and difficulties in composing sentences using the correct Arabic rules. Therefore, the strategy of active knowledge sharing is used as a strategy that can improve students Arabic writing skills. This research was cinducted at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah Assalam Bangilan Tuban by using class VII-B as the sample. This research method used in this study is a quantitative method using observation, documentation interviews, tests and questionnaires as data collection techniques. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of active khowledge sharing strategies in improving  Arabic writing skills of Assalam Bangilan Tuban Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. &nbsp

This article refers to an experimental study on the effectiveness of Dictogloss to teach writing skill at one of Islamic School in Surakarta. The sampling used in this research was cluster random sampling with two classes as sample, namely experimental class taught using Dictogloss and control class taught using Direct Instruction. The collect the data, there were two instruments used in this research namely, writing test and motivation questionnaire. Writing test was used to find out students’ writing skill, while motivation questionnaire was conducted to know students’ motivation levels. The data were analyzed by using 2x2 Multifactor Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Before conducting the ANOVA test, pre-requisite test namely normality and homogeneity test were conducted. The result of this research shows that: (1) Dictogloss is more effective than Direct Instruction to teach writing; (2) Students having high motivation have better writing skill than those having low motivation

This research aims to get the result of the development of teaching materials valid vector calculus courses and proving the effectiveness of learning. The development model that will be used to develop teaching materials in this study is Four-D Models (Model 4D). The results of the use of teaching materials in the Calculus Vector subjects are stated to be valid and effective. This valid is based on: Meet the validate content and constructs set by experts. Effective learning is stated in the following 4 things. (a) Students who use learning instructional materials developed achieve individual and classical learning, (b) The average student score in the experimental class is better than the control class, (c) The influence of students' attitudes and learning skills on abilities critical thinking, and (d) There is an increase in the ability to think critically in classes that use the development of teaching materials

This research is motivated by the difficulty of fourth grade students to write personal letters. This is evidenced by the results of writing personal letters of almost 75% of the value under the KKM while the remaining only 25% is completed in Indonesian subjects. Therefore, this study aims to determine the application of Audio Visual (Video) media in order to improve the skills of writing personal letters on Indonesian language subjects in fourth grade MI Hasyim Asy'ari Jambangan Temple Sidoarjo. As well as to find out the improvement of skills in writing personal letters with Audio Visual media (Video) on Indonesian language subjects in fourth grade MI Hasyim Asy'ari Jambangan Temple Sidoarjo. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research with the model of Kurt Lewin. Consisting of pre cycle, cycle I and cycle II. In the first and second cycles consisted of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subject of this study was fourth grade students of MI Hasyim Asy'ari Jambangan Sidoarjo Temple which consisted of 40 students. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The application of Audio Visual (Video) media runs well in cycle II. This can be seen in the results of teacher observations in the first cycle increased from 82.95 (good) to 95.23 (satisfying) in the second cycle. Similarly, student activities also increased from 77, 27 (sufficient) in the first cycle to 92.85 (satisfying) in the second cycle. This is all because the teacher is more able to pay attention to all of his students, not discriminating. So that all students get the same teaching in cycle II. 2) The increase in the skills of writing personal letters after the application of Audio Visual (Video) media can be seen from the results of the completeness of students' writing skills increasing high. This can be seen from the average value in the pre cycle is 65.62 (less), at the stage of the first cycle is 67.4 (less) and in the second cycle becomes 89 (good)

This research uses reallotment activities that already designed by previous research to know the role of reallotment activities in great rectangular learning. This research uses descriptive research method implemented in class 7th at SMP N 3 Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques used are documentation, observation, and test. Furthermore, the researcher analyzed the data obtained through video recording, observation, and student test answers. The results show that reallotment activities can assist students in finding the square formula by changing the shape of a rectangle into a rectangular shape. The learning activities that use reallotment activities consist of action comparing the area of ??an irregular shape, replacing the regular form into squares, determining the area of ??the rectangle and the parallelogram, finding the formula of the breadth of the parallelogram, and also determining the area of ??the trapezium, the parallelogram, and kite
