English Self-Assessment Based on Pluralism in Preventing Radicalism
Get PDFThe practice of radicalism in Indonesia has increased among all age groups included adolescents. The study found that adolescents or the young generation are mostly affected by radicalism and extremism. The aim of this study is to find out the implementation of English Self-Assessment Based on Pluralism in Preventing Youth Radicalism. This study uses a descriptive analysis method. The instrument of this study is students’ self-assessment worksheet focused on pluralism materials. Based on the analysis conducted, it can be concluded that by implementing English Self-Assessment rubric, the religious understanding of the students is good criteria
An Evaluation of Survival English Textbook Used in Teaching Speaking for First Semester Students in English Education Study Program
No full textTextbooks are one of the important components in language program. It plays significant roles to provide the basis for content of the lesson, the balance of skills taught and the kinds of language practice that students involve in (Richards, 2001). Due to this circumstance, the use of qualified and relevant textbook is highly required to facilitate learning and bring actual learning experience to students. In addition to the selection, the evaluation of the textbooks in EFL context are also at the utmost importance to evaluate whether a particular textbook used in the classroom is a good textbook or not. This study was aimed to evaluate the suitability of the Survival English textbook based on the Content and Contexts criteria of a good English textbook, which proposed by Mukundan (2011), Mukundan et al (2012) and Miekley (2015). The list of statements in a form of questionnaire were addressed to identify 50 students’ assessment of six topics being discussed in the textbook, which was supported by the qualitative data from the interview session. Kesalahan Konstruksi Konsep Mahasiswa pada Materi Himpunan dan Defragmentasi Struktur Berpikirnya
Get PDFThis research was conducted to identify errors in the construction of concepts and to know the form of defragmentation of students’ thinking structures on set material. Data collection was done by asking students to answer on the main test questions. Data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research indicate that the errors in the construction of mathematical concepts of students on set material were: 1) pseudo-constructions in the form of true pseudo and false pseudo, 2) misconstruction, 3) misconnection, and 4) logical thinking errors. The forms of defragmentation or the process of rearranging the thinking structures of students who experience concept construction errors in the set were conducted by giving scaffolding and cognitive conflict

Penerapan Manajemen Perpustakaan dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Layanan di Perpustakaan MTs Al Ibrohimi Manyar Kabupaten Gresik
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan manajemen perpustakaan, menjelaskan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi serta mendiskripsikan solusi implementasi manajemen perpustakaan di MTs Al Ibrohimi Manyar Gresik Tahun 2019. Jenis penelitian kualitatif, Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 1) metode wawancara, wawancara dilakukan kepada beberapa sumber seperti kepala sekolah, guru, petugas perpustakaan dan siswa. 2) metode observasi dengan mengamati keadaan fisik perpustakaan baik peralatan dan perlengkapannya. 3) Metode Dokumen digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data arsip dan administrasi perpustakaan sekolah. Keabsahan data penelitian menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik, keabsahan data tersebut digunakan untuk menguji data-data yang terkumpul. Hasil pembahasan implementasi manajemen perpustakaan di MTs Al Ibrohimi Manyar Gresik yang dilaksanakan belum sesuai dengan fungsi manajemen. mulai dari Perencanaan yang tidak diperbarui, pengorganisasian yang sangat kurang, pengelolaan perpustakaan yang kurang terkelola dengan baik, dan pengawasan yang sangat kurang. Kendala-kendala dalam penerapan fungsi manajemen dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan di perpustakaan MTs Al Ibrohimi Manyar Gresik meliputi: 1) Tidak Adanya Kepemimpinan Manajemen Perpustakaan Sekolah, 2) Kurangnya Sumberdaya Manusia dan pustakawanan yang profesional, 3) Koleksi Buku Yang Kurang Lengkap dan Kurang Diperbarui, 4) Kurangnya Pengunjung Perpustakaan. Usaha yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan manajemen perpustakaan meliputi: 1) Kepala sekolah dapat merekrut atau memilih guru untuk ditugaskan menjadi kepala perpustakaan. 2) pustakawan di perpustakaan MTs Al Ibrohimi Manyar Gresik, harus memiliki tenaga professional dibidang perpustakaan khususnya penerapan fungsi manajemen perpustakaan dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan. 3). mengajukan penambahan koleksi kepada kepala sekolah, sekolah juga mengadakan kerjasama dengan pihak terkait misalnya dengan penerbit dan mengimbuu kepada siswa, guru atau karyawan untuk memberikan sumbangan buku atau menitipkan buku-buku pribadinya untuk disimpan di perpustakaan. 4) memperbaiki Etika Layanan Perpustakaan dan Layanan Sepenuh Hati.

Peningkatan Kemampuan Berhitung 1-20 Melalui Penggunaan Media Corong Berhitung pada Siswa Kelompok B1 Taman Kanak-Kanak Muslimat Wonocolo Surabaya
Get PDFThis research is backgrounded by the low ability in counting 1-20 related to calculation and diminution. It is proven by the result of doing the enrichment exercises which was done by 20 students in a class but only 5 students who got BHS score (Berkembang Sesuai Harapan) in the indicator of mentioning calculation result. Therefore, the objective of this research is to know the use of funnel calculation media in order to increase the ability in counting 1-20 for the students of Kindergarten Muslimat Wonocolo Surabaya, and to know the raising ability in counting 1-20 by using the funnel calculation media related to calculation and diminution. The research design which is used in this research is action research by using Kurt Lewin model. It consists of pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II and reflection. The participant of this research is 20 students of B-1 group at TK Muslimat Wonocolo Surabaya. The action research of Lewin Kurt model consists of 4 stages; planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of this research are: 1) The use of funnel calculation goes well in cycle I. It can be seen in the activity of the students which enthusiastic in using funnel calculation media. Besides, the observation result of the teachers and students get the score in the percentage of 63,09%. It also can be seen from the activity of the teachers and students which rises by getting the score of 79,76% with the increase in 6,65. 2) There is an increasing of the ability in calculating 1-20 which is proven by the raising of the score after using funnel calculating media in cycle I in amount of 63,74% and the cycle II in amount of 76,87% by the increasing in the percentage of 13,13
Deskripsi Proses Kognitif Siswa SMP dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Matematika Berdasarkan Modes Of Representation Teori Bruner
Get PDFThere are three steps of cognitive processes, that is: 1) acquire new information, 2) transform information; and 3) test the relevance and accuracy of knowledge or evaluation. This study aims to describe the students the cognitive process of junior high school to solve mathematical problems based on Bruner's three modes of representation. The research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects were three students of junior high school; each of them is with high, medium, and low abilities. The results showed that the cognitive processes of high and medium abilities were able to acquire information and transform it to solve the problems in the enactive, iconic, and symbolic representation. For the testing relevance and accuracy, high-ability subject only works in the enactive representation. Middle-ability does in the enactive and symbolic representation. The low-ability subject was able to do all three cognitive processes on questions the enactive representation, but other questions in the iconic and symbolic representation cannot be solved

Get PDFLanguage learning in most schools is still conventional, especially during kitabah learning. Teacher only uses the tarjamah method and provides objective training to students, so that student’s understanding is still abstract and passive in kitabah learning. Therefore, researchers apply writing literacy with an observation method that aims to improve student’s writing skills. The type of research that uses in this study is quantitative research with experimental classes to determine the causes and consequences of the application of writing literacy with the observation method. The research subjects were class VII the number of students there were 40 students and the research instruments used are: 1) Observations, 2) interviews, 3) documentation, and 4) tests. The results of this study indicate that the influence of writing literacy application with the observation method in improving student’s writing skills

Peningkatan Kemampuan Mengenal Lambang Bilangan 1-10 Melalui Penggunaan Media Buah Puzzle Angka Pada Kelompok A Di Raudlatul Athfal Babussalam, Krian, Sidoarjo
Get PDFThis research was motivated by the ability to recognize symbols number 1-10 at low Raudlatul Athfal Babussalam. This is evidenced by student learning outcomes that show 78.26% of children do not know the symbol number 1-10 in the age range 4-5 years. This study aims to determine the learning process of recognizing the symbol numbers 1-10 in Group A at Raudlatul Athfal Babussalam, Krian, Sidoarjo by using Puzzle number media. As well as to find out the ability to recognize the symbol numbers 1-10 in Group A at Raudlatul Athfal Babussalam, Krian, Sidoarjo through the use of Puzzle numbers. The method used in this study is classroom action research with Kurt Lewin's model. This research was from Pre Cycle, Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III. In Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of Raudlatul Athfal Group A1 Age 4-5 years with 23 children. The research results are as follows: 1) Learning by using Puzzle fruit media numbers can run well in each cycle. This can be seen from the observations of teacher and student activities. The results of teacher activity in the first cycle reached 78.6%, (enough) 83.4% cycle II (sufficient), and 92.8% (good) cycle III. While the results of observations of student activities in the first cycle reached 76.2% (enough), cycle II 83.4% (enough), and cycle III 94.04% (very good). 2) There is an increase in the ability to recognize the symbol number 1-10 after the use of media numbers Puzzle numbers. This can be seen from the results of children's learning completeness at the first cycle stage 39.2% (Not Developed) with an average of 50.35 (enough), cycle II results of 60.9% (Starting to Grow) with the average learning outcomes of children 68.09 (enough), and cycle III results of 91.4% of children's learning outcomes (Very Good Developing) with an average of 82.9 (good). The increase in cycle III occurs when the use of fruit puzzle media is accompanied by singing method while writing numbers. Children will get the experience of writing numbers concretely through the song "numbers". So that in this case the child memorizes the form from the symbol number 1 to 1
