THE QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES USED BY FOREIGN-EDUCATED BACKGROUND TEACHER TO PROMOTE CRITICAL THINKING
Critical thinking is a cognitive skill that must be achieved by a student in higher education. By having critical thinking, especially in a language class, a student must understand the language and the message it brings to be communicated fluently and it will be a good asset for their future, especially to face the world of work. To foster students' critical thinking, a teacher is required to give them fairly complex questions with suitable questioning techniques. Asking the right technique is a good way to trigger critical thinking. This research uses a qualitative approach and focuses on indigenous teachers who have studied abroad as a subject. The teacher was chosen because, based on theory, overseas have felt a better critical thinking environment, have adapted and absorbed ways to be active in the classroom. This study aims to determine the types of questions and questioning techniques used by teachers to trigger critical thinking students. The results showed that the teacher used high-level cognitive questions namely the types of analysis (25, 3%), synthesis (21%) and evaluation (20, 3%). Then the questioning technique that most teachers use is the decomposition type (25%). It can be concluded that the teacher can foster students' critical thinking by providing high-level questioning techniques and questions with high cognitive level
Manajemen Hubungan Masyarakat dalam Membangun Citra Lembaga
Citra dibutuhkan lembaga agar masyarakat memberikan apresiasi sekaligus merupakan reputasi dan prestasi yang hendak dicapai bagi dunia hubungan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan Manajemen Humas Dalam Membangun Citra Lembaga yang diterapkan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Jombang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang peneliti gunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Manajemen humas dalam membangun citra dilakukan dengan melakukan promosi melalui brosur, website, media sosial, bazar dan lomba atau olimpiade. Juga dengan upaya menjadikan madrasah yang unggul dalam proses belajar mengajar, rekruitmen guru, rekruitmen siswa dan siswi. 
Pengaruh Sarana dan Prasarana terhadap Efektivitas Belajar Siswa Kelas 3 Tingkat Wustha
Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh sarana prasarana terhadap efektivitas belajar siswa kelas 3 tingkat wustha di Pendidikan Diniyah Formal tingkat Wustho Al-fithrah, hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapas besar pengaruh sarana dan prasarana di Lembaga Pendidikan Diniyah Formal Al Fithrah Surabaya. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian kuantitatif menekankan pada pengujian data dengan prosedur spss yang melalui tahap uji validitas, uji releabilitas, uji normalitas, dan tahap terakhir untuk mengetahui hasil penelitian peneliti menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Sarana dan prasarana telah diterapkan oleh Pendidikan Diniyah Al Fithrah mendapatkan hasil akhir 79,5% dengan kategori baik. Efektivitas belajar siswa tergolong “baik” dengan perolehan hasil 79,5% dan berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana membuktikan bahwa semakin baik sarana dan prasarana lembaga akan berpengaruh terhadap efektivitas belajar siswa kelas 3 Tingkat Wustha di Lembaga Pendidikan Diniyah Formal Al-Fitrah Surabaya
IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PELAYANAN PUBLIK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi sistem informasi manajemen pendidikan dalam meningkatkan pelayanan publik di MTsN 3 Kota Surabaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskripstif. Metode pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data memakai Reduksi Data (Data Reaction), Penyajian Data (Data Display), dan Penarikan Kesimpulan atau Verifikasi (Conclusion Drawing and verification). Hasil penelitian dapat deskripsikan sebagai berikut: sistem informasi manajemen pendidikan sudah ada dan diterapkan, dibuktikan dengan adanya aplikasi website madrasah, dan simpatika, juga data emis dan aplikasi raport digital mahasiswa, meskipun tidak semuanya aspek menggunakan aplikasi, akan tetapi pihak madrasah memberikan pelatihan-pelatihan kepada pegawai dan guru di madrasah. Dalam peningkatan pelayanan publik madrasah sudah melakukan pelayanan terhadap siswa, guru, dan juga wali murid. Untuk siswa sendiri diberikan pelayanan terkait kebutuhan belajar, dan untuk guru dibekali dengan pelatihan-pelatihan dan diklat, terkait program disosialisasikan pada siswa, guru dan wali murid
AUDIT MUTU DALAM SISTEM PENJAMINAN MUTU INTERNAL
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan audit mutu dalam sistem penjaminan mutu internal di SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan peneliti merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode wawancara, dokumentasi, observasi. Hasil penelitian berupa temuan penelitian ini sebagai berikut: 1) Audit mutu dalam sistem penjaminan mutu di SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya sudah berjalan dengan baik menggunakan standar yang memakai ISO 14001:2004 tahun 2012. Audit mutu mengacu terhadap standar nasional pendidikan untuk menjadi ukuran didalam penerapan SPMI di sekolah. Sekolah menjadi lebih bagus dan baik serta sekolah menjadi rujukan bagi sekolah lainnya. 2) Dampak dari pelakasanaan audit mutu dalam SPMI yaitu peningkatan prestasi siswa-siswi yang berada di sekolah akademik / non akademik, pendidik yang sudah S2 mencapai 20% untuk menjadikan sekolah kawasan, menjadi sekolah rujukan untuk sekolah-sekolah yang ada di sekitarnya. 3) Kendala pelaksanaan audit mutu dalam SPMI yaitu terbenturnya program dari Dinas Pendidikan dan sekolah, terlalu banyak siswa dan sisw
Permainan Tradisional untuk Membentuk Karakter Anak Usia Dini: Studi pada TK Diponegoro 140 Rawalo Banyumas
Setiap guru memiliki pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pendidikan karakter, namun belum semua guru menguasai metode dalam membentuk karakter anak. Penyebabnya adalah lemahnya kreativitas guru dalam membentuk karakter anak. Permainan tradisional sebenarnya dapat dijadikan oleh guru sebagai metode dalam membentuk karakter anak. Hal itu telah dilakukan oleh guru di TK Diponegoro 140 Rawalo. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pembentukan karakter anak melalui permainan tradisional di TK Diponegoro 140 Rawalo. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian fenomenologi dengan subjek yang diteliti yaitu kepala TK, guru, serta anak. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data model Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter anak melalui permainan tradisional di TK Diponegoro 140 rawalo dilakukan melalui tiga tahap. Pertama, pemberian pengetahuan tentang nilai-nilai kebaikan melalui permainan tradisional. Kedua, pemberian motivasi untuk melakukan nilai-nilai kebaikan melalui permainan tradisional. Ketiga, pemberian arahan untuk melakukan nilai-nilai kebaikan melalui permainan tradisional. Pada pelaksanaan ketiga tahapan tersebut guru bukan sekedar mendampingi dan mengajarkan cara bermain tetapi juga menjadi role model bagi anak untuk melakukan kebaikan-kebaikan saat bermain dengan permainan tradisional
Contributions of KARDS to Professional Identity of High School Teachers in an EFL Context
This research aimed at investigating the impacts of knowing, analyzing, recognizing, doing, and seeing (KARDS) on Iranian English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers’ professional identity reconstruction in the context of high schools. Purposive sampling and KARDS questionnaire were used to choose participants and to classify them into a more KARDS-oriented group (n=10) and a less-KARDS oriented group (n=10). The researchers employed pre-course and post-course interview, teacher educator’s and teachers’ reflective journals, and class debate as data gathering tools. Following the pre-course interview, there was an implementation phase of KARDS by means of which teachers were acquainted with it. Then, Grounded Theory was used for data analysis. Findings revealed that there were three big shifts from “uncertainty of practice to certainty of practice”, “the use of fewer macro-strategies to the use of more macro-strategies”, and “linguistic and technical view of language teaching to critical, educational, and transformative view of language teaching” in teachers’ professional identities in both groups. The changes were similar in quality but not in quantity, and they should be incorporated in teacher education programs. The findings may encourage stakeholders to welcome uncertainty and confusion, to underline more macro-strategies, and to take a critical and transformative view of language teaching in language classrooms
Pelanggaran Maksim dan Strategi Pelanggaran yang Terjadi pada Dialog Aplikasi Chatbot Simsimi Bahasa Arab dan Inggris
In the era of technology that continues to develop, the way to communicate also develops. One of them is the chatbot as a friend of human communication. This research examines a chatbot that can make users laugh or upset because of the uniqueness of its responses. That is SimSimi, an artificial intelligence. This research examines the extent of SimSimi can communicate effectively and efficiently. In answering this matter, this research analyzes in what topics the flouting maxims are mostly committed by SimSimi. The analysis process relies on the principle of cooperation Grice (1975). Further, each flouting maxims is explored about the strategy of violations that occur, by referring to the idea of ??Cutting (2002) about the maxim violation strategy. In addition, with SimSimi's multilingual expertise, this research also compares the differences in the frequency of flouting maxims by SimSimi in Arabic and English. Therefore, this research utilizes comparative studies using qualitative methods. The conversations analyzed were 40 conversations containing 4 topics. Based on 20 Arabic conversations, there were 32 flouting maxims. As for the 20 conversations in English, there were 30 flouting maxims. This shows the comparison of the frequency of flouting maxims in Arabic and English dialogue at 16:15. As for the strategies of flouting maxims that occurred, there are 10 kinds of strategies in Arabic dialogue and 6 kinds of strategies in English dialogue. In Arabic dialogues, the topic that contains the most violations of the maxims is the topic of religion. So it is with English dialogue. The results of the research show that SimSimi in English can communicate more effectively and efficiently compared to its use in Arabic
Kesantunan Berbahasa pada Anak Melalui Pembiasaan
The habit of politeness in language in children aged 5-6 years is something that is crucial. This study aims to analyze the impact of using the word do not replace the word sorry for children. This study uses qualitative methods with data triangulation techniques. Samples taken were students of group A PGRA Mamba’ul Hisan Surabaya. Data collection techniques used are 1) Making observations in class A1, A2, A3, 2) Interview with class teachers, 3) Analyzing data based on theory, 4) Summing up the results obtained. The data taken consisted of 3 samples from 3 groups who were accustomed to politeness in language. The results obtained include: children can accept mistakes, children can be more polite and more polite in talking, children are accustomed to gentle reprimands
Pembelajaran Bilingual dan Usaha Sekolah Memaksimalkan Perkembangan Kognitif, Sosial, Dan Motorik Anak
This study aims to describe bilingual learning and school efforts in maximizing children's cognitive, social and motor development. This research is included in the field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data is taken from the results of observations of learning in happy classrooms, classroom teacher interviews and principals at Play group, Day Care and Kindergarten Ceria Demangan Yogyakarta. The results showed that bilingual learning is done both from warming up activities, circle time, breafing activity, snack time, free play, and going home. School effort in maximizing children's cognitive development is by the use of learning methods that are attractive to children. Children's social development by teaching children to work together, be responsible, be disciplined and help one another. Children's motor development with sports activities, social service, and learning while playing. And finally, complete play facilities are very supportive of children's cognitive, social and motor development
