    Identifying English Language Needs of Religious Guides at The General Presidency of The Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque

    The aim of this study is to identify English language needs for religious guides at The General Presidency of The Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque. This study adopted a quantitative approach methodology using needs analysis questionnaire. The quantitative data collection instrument was a questionnaire with (51) participants. SPSS was used as the quantitative data analysis method. Findings showed that listening and speaking were the most important skills, and reading was moderately important, while writing is not important at all. Also, English is greatly rated as a tool to effectively perform their tasks in term of preaching and advising guests and pilgrims. Difficulties are embodied in lacking English language, accents, and proper religious expressions and vocabulary. This study highlights an urgent need for English for Religious Purposes. The study proposes a general guideline for a course design framework based on participants’ needs

    This study aims to describe the process of developing interactive multimedia learning mathematics Lectora Inspire that satisfies criteria: valid, practical, and effective to reinforce the conceptual understanding of 8th graders of junior high school, especially on Linear Equation System in Two Variables (LESTV) topic. This research uses the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The result of media and content expert validation showed an average score of 84% and 83.5%, respectively, such that it met the valid criteria and without revision. The result of the student questionnaire said that the media was good with scores of 79% and the average point of the test was 86.5 of 100. It showed that the student concept understanding was complete after using the media. The media need to be improved before it was used broader

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi dan implementasi terkait kebijakan Belajar dari Rumah (BDR ) selama pandemi Covid-19 di SDN Bakalan, Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta yang secara resmi tercantum dalam SE Sekjen Nomor 15 Tahun 2020 tentang Pedoman Pelaksanaan BDR selama masa darurat Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitaian ini yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan perolehan data melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, dan library research. Subyek dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru-guru di SDN Bakalan Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran di SDN Bakalan sepenuhnya dilaksanakan daring dari rumah karena pandemi Covid-19 yang belum dapat diprediksi kapan segera usai. Namun di SDN Bakalan ini, para guru tidak berhenti dalam melayani hak siswa dalam mendapatkan pembelajaran yang berkualitas. Komunikasi terkait kebijakan Belajar dari Rumah (BDR), Dinas setempat sudah memberikan pelatiahan dan sosialisasi dengan membekali guru untuk memaksimalkan penggunaan Teknologi dan Informasi (TIK).     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan tentang efektivitas SIM SIAGA terhadap pengelolaan manajemen guru PAIS di kantor kementerian agama kabupaten Bangkalan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukandenganobservasilapangan dan wawancara yang dilakukan pada tanggal tugas yang telah ditetapkan oleh kampus terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas SIM SIAGA terhadap pengelolaan manajemen guru PAIS di kantor kementerian agama kabupaten Bangkalan dinilai sangat efektif untuk digunakan dibandingkan aplikasi Emis. dimana beberapa fitur-fitur yang sangat mendukung didalamnya, dan sama sekali tidak menemukan kendala apapun. meskipun ada sebagian fitur yang masih tidak dapat berjalan secara efektif dikarenakan aplikasi tersebut masih terbilang sangat baru yang membutuhkan inovasi-inovasi dalam pengembangannya

    Kajian ini membahas tentang inovasi layanan pada masa pandemi Covid-19 yang ada di Perpustakaan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Selama masa pandemi yang dimulai pada tanggal 17 Maret 2020 bisa dikatakan perpustakaan hanya memberikan layanan daring. Meski sempat memberikan layanan tatap muka, namun itu hanyalah berlaku untuk hari-hari tertentu sesuai dengan regulasi yang berlaku. Dengan ditiadakannya layanan tatap muka, maka perlu dilakukan inovasi baik dari segi layanan dan koleksi agar peran perpustakaan sebagai pusat sumber informasi tetap berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif yakni melakukan kajian mendalam tentang fenomena yang terjadi di masyarakat disertai penyajian dengan menggunkan kata-kata agar mudah dipahami. Adapun hasil analisis pada data hasil observasi dan dokumentasi memberikan kesimpulan bahwa terdapat tujuh inovasi layanan yang diberikan oleh Perpustakaan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya selama masa Pandemi, yakni layanan bebas pinjam mandiri online, layanan jaminan, layanan paket, perpustakaan digital KUBUKU UINSA, Online Information Literacy The Series, Smart Room, dan bimbingan pemustaka online

    Abstract: Purpose-It is stated that Ibn Taimiyah was a scholar who spoke fluent Arabic, was fast in reading, and straightforward, not only fluent in speaking, but also proficient in Arabic grammar. Likewise, it is said that he had read the Book of Sibawaih in front of his teacher, Shaykh Ibn Abdul Qawi in 6 days, until he understood it and mastered the science of nahwu. On the basis of this story and his success in learning Arabic, the researcher was moved to collect his sayings about the importance of learning Arabic and how to teach it, especially for non-Arabic speakers. Design/Methodology/Approach-This research is guided by the descriptive analysis method, by collecting the required data from the books of Ibn Taimiyah, both from printed references, e-books, and software of Maktabah Syamilah. After the data was collected, the Researcher brought a number of words from classical and contemporary scholars who supported Ibn Taimiyyah's words. Findings: From this research, the Researcher got fifteen sayings of Ibn Taimiyyah about the importance of learning Arabic and ten methods of teaching it. All of his sayings about the importance of learning Arabic are related to religious issues, so it can be concluded that the purpose of learning Arabic according to him is to understand religious texts. Research Limitation/Implications:This research is certainly not relevant for those who want to study Arabic for general purposes, because Ibn Taymiyyah limited it to religious purposes only. Nevertheless, this research enriches Arabic teaching methods for specific purposes for non-Arabic speakers

    This study aims (1) to determine the effect of the Kaisa method on the ability to memorize short letters of the Al-Qur'an and hadith in children at TK Aisyiyah 17 Jasem, (2) to determine the influence of the Kaisa method on the ability to memorize short letters. Al-Qur'an and hadith in TK Aisyiyah 17 Jasem. The research method uses quantitative ex-post facto correlation type. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Research data collection techniques are questionnaires and documentation. Test the validity of the questionnaire instrument using expert tests (judges). The data analysis technique used the product moment correlation formula. The conclusion of this study is that (1) there is an effect of the Kaisa method on the ability to memorize short letters from the Al-Qur'an and hadith in children. This is evidenced by the results of the calculation of rcount> rtabel, (0.999> 0.602) then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, (2) and the magnitude of the influence seen from the calculation results is 0.999 which has been consulted with the correlation coefficient value at the value of 0.800-1.00 including the category high, so it can be interpreted that the influence of the Kaisa method has a major effect on the ability to memorize short letters of the Al-Qur'an and hadiths in children at Aisyiyah 17 Kindergarten Jasem Ngoro Mojokerto

    An Overview of Grammar Translation Method’s Effect on EFL Teaching And Learning

    In language teaching and learning, several methods are used for the effectiveness of teaching and learning activity. The researcher implemented the methods to assist the teacher in teaching the language, time after time. The methods have undergone many changes and development based on the attitude and school of thought for teaching and learning a language, so each method has a different character, technique, and implementation. This reflection will expand on the grammatical translation method (GTM) used in the nineteenth century to teach English as a foreign language. This method is based on the goal of grammatical competence. To achieve the goal, this method has several characteristic and technique which will be used in its implementation. The writer attempts to do a review by investigating 5 published articles gathered from internet websites to show the use of the grammar-translation method, its effectiveness, and why it is criticized for teaching and learning English as a foreign language.     Abstract: Teachers have an obligation to provide quality teaching. Therefore, teachers always try to develop pedagogical competencies. One of the paths taken by the teacher to achieve that goal is by practicing a lifelong learning culture or andragogy. Starting from this problem, this study aims to examine the learning culture of Arabic teachers in improving pedagogical competence. The principles and characteristics of andragogy theory are used to develop research. The study uses qualitative methods with interview data collection techniques. While the research subjects were Arabic language teachers at the High School level and equivalent in Pekalongan. Data analyzed with Miles and Hubermen stages include, data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The practice of andragogy of Arabic teachers in Pekalogan can be said to be good and centered on developing pedagogical and professional competencies while social and moral competencies are the driving force of teachers to do lifelong learning.   Keywords: andragogy, Arabic language teacher and pedagogical competence.   Abstrak: Guru memiliki kewajiban untuk memberikan pengajaran yang berkualitas. Oleh karena itu, guru senantiasa berusaha untuk mengembangkan kompetensi pedagogik. Salah satu jalan yang ditempuh oleh guru untuk mencapai tujuan itu ialah dengan mempraktikkan budaya belajar sepanjang hayat atau andragogi. Bertolak dari permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji budaya belajar guru bahasa Arab dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik. Prinsip dan ciri teori andragogi digunakan untuk mengembangkan penelitian. Penelitian menggunaan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara. Sementara subyek penelitian adalah guru bahasa Arab tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas dan sederajat di Pekalongan. Data dianalasis dengan tahapan Miles dan Hubermen meliputi, pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan simpulan. Praktik andragogi guru bahasa Arab di Pekalogan dapat dikatakan baik dan berpusat pada pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional sementara kompetensi sosial dan moral merupakan daya dorong guru untuk melakukan belajar sepanjang hayat.   Kata kunci: andragogi, guru bahasa Arab dan kompetensi pedagogik
