The Effect of Flipped Learning Model on EFL Learners' Academic Achievement, Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence
The aim of the study is to examine the effect of flipped learning model on EFL learners academic achievement, self-esteem and self-confidence. This is a quantitative qualitative study in which a mixed methods design is used for data collection procedure. The study sample includes two groups of intermediate English students who study in foreign language institutions. They are selected by purposive sampling method. This method of sampling allows the researcher to select students with two years of learning experience. In this study, the independent variable of the research is flipped learning model, as opposed to traditional learning approach, while the dependent variables are students academic achievement, self-esteem, and self-confidence. One sample pre-test and post-test design is used to collect quantitative data on academic achievement, self-esteem and self-confidence. In order to collect qualitative data, a semi-structured interview is administered to reveal the general attitudes of the students towards the benefits, difficulties and the solutions of the flipped classroom. The results indicate that flipped learning model has significant effect on EFL learners academic achievement, self-esteem and self-confidence. The researcher concludes that learners with high self-confidence and self-esteem will have a greater academic achievement, and flipped classroom can enhance language learning
Muyûl al-Talâmidh fî Tadrîs al-Qirâ’ah
Purpose- This study aims to reveal the spirit and motivation of learners in studying Qiro'ah, specifically the study is focused on the description of the forms of motivation of learners, factors that affect the motivation of learners in learning qiro'ah, as well as the steps taken by teachers in improving the spirit of learners in learning qiro'ah.
Design/Methodology/Approach- Research is carried out with a qualitative approach, data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation studies. This approach was chosen considering that the research data found and analyzed is natural without treatment.
Findings: The results of the study are first, the spirit of learners in learning qiro'ah is very low, this is evidenced by the tasks given by Arabic teachers are not completed thoroughly by many students. Second, low motivation is influenced by internal and external factors, ineternal factors include weak ability to apply qawa'id al-lughah in reading Arabic scripts, knowledge that is less related to the urgency of reading ability, while external factors include less support from more able friends, improper media selection, methods used by teachers sometimes out of sync with learners. Third, teachers make efforts to increase reading motivation by providing reinforcement for learners related to the importance of reading skills, finding and using the right qiro'ah learning media, updating qiro'ah learning methods, increasing supervision of established tasks.
Research Limitation/Implications-Researchers have not revealed anything related to the ability to read Arabic, therefore researchers and observers of Arabic learning can continue research on various aspects relevant to this study, such as studying the correlation of motivation to study qiro'ah with understanding of Arabic reading manuscripts
Kepemimpinan Perempuan dalam Mengembangkan Budaya Organisasi
Artikel ini membahas tentang bagaimana kepemimpinan perempuan dalam mengembangkan budaya organisasi. Metode penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan kajian teoritis dan penelusuran jurnal-jurnal penelitian dan beberapa buku. Hasil penelitian-penelitian masalah gender menunjukkan tidak banyak perbedaan gender yang dihubungkan dengan kepemimpinan apalagi seorang perempuan yang memimpin sebuah organisasi. Namun jika gender dihubungkan dengan kepemimpinan apalagi perempuan pasti memiliki ciri khas tersendiri, tetapi bukan karena perbedaan jenis kelamin, namun lebih pada faktor karakteristik dan tuntutan pekerjaan itu sendiri. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh karakteristik kepemimpinan perempuan dengan budaya organisasi. Dan kepemimpinan pada budaya organisasi memiliki orientasi untuk membangun budaya yang kuat dan bagaimana cara mempertahankan secara terus menerus terhadap apa yang telah dicapai oleh suatu organisasi tersebut. Dan disinilah dibutuhkan seorang pemimpin yang efektif dalam mempertahankan strategi kepemimpinannya. Dan budaya organisasi yang kuat dapat dilihat dari visi dan misi sekolah, keyakinan dan nilai yang baik, dan hubungan yang baik antara pemimpin dan anggotanya
Peran Komunitas Batalyon dalam Pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam Non Formal terhadap Pemuda Kampung Kupang Gunung Pasca Penutupan Lokalisasi Dolly Surabaya
Latar belakang munculnya ide untuk membahas penelitian yang berjudul “Peran Komunitas Batalyon Dalam Pengembangan Pendidikan Agama Islam Non Formal Terhadap Pemuda Kampung Kupang Gunung Pasca Penutupan Lokalisasi Dolly Surabaya” adalah ketertarikan penulis untuk mengetahui lebih dalam tentang strategi komunitas Batalyon dalam menerapkan pendidikan agama Islam non formal di Kampung Kupang Gunung. Selain ingin mengetahui tentang strategi pendidikan islam non formal, hal yang lebih ditekankan dalam penelitian ini adalah peran komunitas Batalyon Surabaya terhadap pemuda kampung Kupang Gunungdalam pengembangan pendidikan agama Islam non formal pasca penutupan lokalisasi dolly. Teori atau metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu memakai penelitian kualitatif naratif, maksudnya adalah data naratif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau tulisan dari orang-orang perilaku dan peristiwa atau tempat tertentu secara rinci.Metode kualitatif ini digunakan karenametode ini
lebih mudah apabila berhadapan dengan kenyataan yang berbeda ketika di lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah strategi yang diterapkan oleh komunitas batalyon surabaya dalam mengembangkan pendidikan agama Islam non formal adalah pendekatan secara langsung kepada masyarakat setempat dan peran komunitas ini terhadap pemuda kampung Kupang Gunung pasca penutupan lokalisasi dolly sangat besar, hal ini diakui oleh mayoritas masyarakat baik dari kalangan masyarakat biasa maupun dari kalangan kyai(ulama)
Pengelolaan Program Open House sebagai Ajang Promosi di SMP Muhammadiyah 11 Surabaya
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengelolaan program open house sebagai ajang promosi di SMP Muhammadiyah 11.Penelitian ini berisi tentang perencanaan, pelaksanaan serta kendala dalam program tersebut.Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Peneliti menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Sedangkan dalam uji keabsahan data peneliti menggunakan trianggulasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan: (1) Perencanaan program open house meliputi perencanaan tujuan dan tema, perencanaan tempat, perencanaan waktu, perencanaan pembagian kerja panitia, perencanaan anggaran, perencanaan sponsorship, perencanaan promosi dan perencanaan kegiatan. Perencanaan program open house sudah baik karena panitia mengadakan beberapa kali rapat setiap minggunya dan dimulai dari awal bulan januari. (2) Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 Maret 2017 bertempat dilingkungan sekolah dengan tujuan agar hubungan sekolah dengan masyarakat lebih dekat. Beberapa acara dari program open house tersebut adalah tryout, seminar motivasi, pentas seni, dan pameran.Dari keseluruhan pelaksanaan program open house sudah bagus karena sesuai dengan rencana awal dan ada kendala akantetapi tidak terlalu parah. (3) Pengendalian yang dilakukan oleh panitia open house meliputi tiga hal yaitu pemantauan, penilaian, dan pelaporan. Panitia sudah memantau dan menilai kegiatan tersebut dengan dasar perencanaan yang sudah dirapatkan. (4) Kendala-kendala yang dialami oleh panitia ialah berikut ini Perubahan jadwal ujian kenaikan kelas dari dinas, sulit untuk mengatur peserta tryout, dan bau sampah tidak sedap.
Pola Asuh Anak Cerdas Istimewa dalam Islam
This study aims to determine how Islamic parenting is applied to special intelligent and gifted children. A special intelligent child is a child who has intelligence above the average of his peers. They are children who have high independence, have self-taught behavior, cannot be detected by other people and can create ideas spontaneously. Special intelligent children have intelligence above 130 (Waschler scale), they have high-order thinking patterns and cannot be equated with their peers who only have normal intelligence. The pattern of education and parenting applied by parents to their children can use various methods that have been taught by the Prophet in Islamic religious teachings. These methods include modeling methods and noble ethics, situational and conditional methods, questioning methods, analogical methods, and dialogical interaction methods. A Contradiction of the Existence of English in Rural and Urban Pesantren in Indonesia
Pesantren emphasizes the learning on religious knowledge, based on the classical textbook given to Santri (student). Nowadays, pesantren shifts its tradition by providing English program. This shifting occurs as the effort of pesantren to face the challenges of modernization and to fulfill the demands of society. This paper discussed the comparative study of English program implementation history in rural and urban pesantren, the reasons for establishing English program, and santries’(student) response towards English program in pesantren. The result showed that the existence of English program in pesantren, both in rural and urban area, was because the demand of the society. In rural pesantren, the reason why they provided English because they wanted to develop the society surrounded pesantren which are Indonesian Migrant Worker (Tenaga Kerja Indonesia). While in urban area, they provided English program because they were focusing on the development of santries themselves to prepare for the global community
