Mammal Practicum Based on Interactive Flipbook E-Module A Solution for Enhancing Critical Thinking in Biology Education Students
This study aims to develop an interactive flipbook-based e-module as a learning medium for the mammal practicum to enhance the critical thinking skills of biology education students. The research employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the Hannafin and Peck model, which includes three main stages: needs analysis, design and development, and implementation with evaluation. The participants involved were biology education students enrolled in the mammal practicum course. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires for both content and media, as well as critical thinking tests. The validation results indicated that the developed e-module met the feasibility standards in terms of both content accuracy and visual presentation. Limited trials showed a notable improvement in students’ critical thinking abilities after using the e-module. Therefore, the interactive flipbook-based e-module is considered effective and suitable as an alternative learning medium in mammal practicum sessions to support students’ critical thinking development
Gross Motor Skills of Grade 7 Learners: Basis for Development of Training Program
This causal-comparative study assessed the gross motor skills of Grade 7 students at Muñoz National High School to guide an intervention program. Using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2), data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Results revealed that both locomotor (e.g., running, hopping) and object control skills (e.g., catching, dribbling) were below average, with 56.2% of students scoring below the average range; 4.3% were classified as very poor, and 16.3% as poor. Males generally performed better than females, and underweight or normal-weight students displayed higher locomotor skills than heavier peers. Demographic factors like age and socioeconomic status showed no significant impact on motor performance. An intervention program was developed to address these skill gaps, with recommendations for individualized support and a safe learning environment to enhance students' gross motor skills and physical fitness
PENGARUH KULIAH KERJA PROFESI TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA TENTANG MANAJEMEN PERKEBUNAN KELAPA SAWIT
In vocational education, field practice is not only considered as a complement, but also as the core of learning that can produce graduates who are ready to contribute directly to the world of work. Professional Job Lecture (PJL) is a mandatory courses in the sixth semester. All learning is carried out practically. This research aims to examine the level of knowledge of students who are participants in the PJL. The research was conducted on 15 August until 31 October 2023 at the Citra Widya Edukasi Oil Palm Polytechnic on all students of the Production Technology of Plantation Crops study program for the year entering 2021. The number of students in the survey was 37 people. The student has participated in PJL activities at the Subang oil palm educational plantation of the Citra Widya Edukasi Oil Palm Polytechnic for 20 days. Primary data was used in this research through filling out questionnaires. Level of confidence and knowledge of students measured by submitting statements and questions in online questionnaire. Questionnaire-filling was carried out on the first day of the PJL and 2 months after the activity was completed. The level of knowledge of students PJL about oil palm plantation management was medium to very high level based on hypothetical data categorization. The majority of students have a high level of knowledge as much as 62.86%. Effective communication based on SKKN topic for Plantation Asisstants was the highest percentage of corecct answers namely 89.86. Self-confidence was increased after PJL with the number of students by 31 people.Pendidikan tinggi memiliki peran yang krusial dalam membentuk calon-calon tenaga kerja yang kompeten dan siap terjun ke dunia industri. Dalam konteks pendidikan vokasional, praktik lapangan tidak hanya dianggap sebagai pelengkap, melainkan sebagai inti dari pembelajaran. Kuliah Kerja Profesi (KKP) merupakan mata kuliah yang wajib ditempuh oleh mahasiswa semester 6 (enam). Semua pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara praktik di ekbun kelapa sawit. Evaluasi pembelajaran diperlukan untuk mengukur kualitas SDM yang dihasilkan melalui kegiatan KKP. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 15 Agustus 2023 dan 31 Oktober 2023 di Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi terhadap semua mahasiswa program studi Teknologi Produksi Tanaman Perkebunan (TPTP) tahun masuk 2021. Jumlah mahasiswa yang mengikuti survey sebanyak 37 orang. Mahasiswa tersebut telah mengikuti kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Profesi (KKP) di kebun pendidikan kelapa sawit Subang Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi selama 20 hari. Kegiatan KKP dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 Agustus – 2 September 2023. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diperoleh melalui pengisian kuesioner. Tingkat percaya diri dan pengetahuan mahasiswa diukur dengan cara menyampaikan pernyataan dan pertanyaan dalam bentuk kuesioner online. Kegiatan pengisian kuesioner ini dilakukan pada hari pertama KKP dan 2 bulan setelah kegiatan selesai. Tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa peserta KKP 2023 Program Studi Teknologi Produksi Tanaman Perkebunan tentang manajemen perkebunan kelapa sawit berada pada tingkat sedang hingga sangat tinggi berdasarkan kategorisasi data hipotetik. Mayoritas mahasiswa memiliki tingkat pengetahuan tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 62,86%. Topik SKKNI Asisten Kebun dengan persentase jawaban benar yang paling tinggi adalah melakukan komunikasi efektif yaitu sebesar 89,86% pada survey akhir. Kegiatan KKP dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri mahasiswa terhadap suatu keterampilan yang diujikan, dengan jumlah mahasiswa yang mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 31 orang
Economic Education Students' Perspectives on AI Utilization in Learning: A Descriptive Study
This study explores students' perspectives on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires from 45 Economics Education students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The analysis results show that 60% of respondents believe AI enhances learning efficiency, while 55.6% support its development in economic education due to its benefits for job readiness. However, concerns exist that reliance on AI may reduce critical thinking skills (62.2%) and only minimally support student collaboration (62.2%). These findings provide insights for the development of AI-based educational tools, though they are limited to a specific student group. Further research is recommended to include a larger and more diverse sample to gain a broader understanding of students' perceptions of AI in education.Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi perspektif mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam pendidikan. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dari 45 mahasiswa Pendidikan Ekonomi di Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 60% responden menilai AI meningkatkan efisiensi pembelajaran, sementara 55,6% mendukung pengembangannya dalam pendidikan ekonomi karena manfaatnya bagi kesiapan kerja. Namun, terdapat kekhawatiran bahwa ketergantungan pada AI dapat mengurangi keterampilan berpikir kritis (62,2%) dan hanya sedikit membantu kolaborasi antar mahasiswa (62,2%). Temuan ini memberikan wawasan bagi pengembangan alat pendidikan berbasis AI, meskipun terbatas pada satu kelompok mahasiswa. Penelitian lebih lanjut disarankan untuk melibatkan sampel yang lebih luas guna mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai persepsi AI dalam pendidikan
Designing a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory with Student Worksheets: Fostering Collaboration and Innovation in Probability Learning
This study aims to develop a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) based on student worksheets for teaching probability as an innovative approach to enhance students’ conceptual understanding. The development is driven by the need for instructional design that connects abstract mathematical concepts to real-life contexts. The research adopts a design-based research (DBR) approach through an in-depth case study of three eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through LKPD tasks, observations, semi-structured interviews, and diagnostic tests. Findings show that the HLT-based student worksheet effectively supported students’ progressive understanding of probability, fostering intuitive exploration and formal application. Students demonstrated active engagement, cognitive growth, and positive attitudes toward learning. The study concludes that implementing HLT through LKPD is a valid and promising strategy to improve the quality of mathematics instruction, particularly in the topic of probability
Pendidikan IPS dalam Memahami Perubahan Sosial melalui Berpikir Kritis untuk Menghadapi Fenomena Cancel Culture
In an increasingly digitalized and globalized world, social studies education plays a pivotal role in shaping students’ critical thinking and understanding of social change. This study explores how social studies can be a platform for addressing contemporary issues, particularly the phenomenon of Cancel Culture. By referring to sources indexed in Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) and Science and Technology Index (SINTA), the research emphasizes the urgency of integrating innovative learning methods. The findings show that critical thinking, interdisciplinary strategies, and the integration of technology empower students to analyze complex social phenomena. Social studies teachers are essential in facilitating meaningful discussions that highlight the impact of globalization, individualization, and digital transformation. Ultimately, fostering critical thinking within social studies not only deepens students' understanding of social realities but also prepares them to act as reflective, ethical, and responsible agents of change in an ever-evolving societyDalam dunia yang semakin terdigitalisasi dan terglobalisasi, pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) memegang peran penting dalam membentuk kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan pemahaman mereka terhadap perubahan sosial. Studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana pembelajaran IPS dapat menjadi wadah untuk membahas isu-isu kontemporer, khususnya fenomena Cancel Culture. Dengan merujuk pada sumber-sumber yang terindeks dalam Scimago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) dan Science and Technology Index (SINTA), penelitian ini menekankan urgensi integrasi metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis, strategi interdisipliner, dan integrasi teknologi memberdayakan siswa untuk menganalisis fenomena sosial yang kompleks. Guru IPS memiliki peran penting dalam memfasilitasi diskusi bermakna yang menyoroti dampak globalisasi, individualisasi, dan transformasi digital. Computational Thinking berbasis Unplugged Activity Menggunakan Tugas Algoritma pada Anak Usia Dini
Computational thinking skills based on unplugged activity by collecting algorithmic tasks have recently become a concern. Various activities can be a way to stimulate these abilities. Fun cooking is one alternative that can be used for preschool children. This study aims to describe how fun cooking activities can stimulate computational thinking skills that have been widely applied by early childhood education institutions. The research sample of 18 children was aimed at students of Angkasa Lanud Adisucipto Kindergarten, Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation and direct observation. The results of the study showed that there were several algorithmic tasks that were understood by the research sample when carrying out fun cooking activities; 1) students orderly listened to the teacher's explanation regarding the activity process to be carried out, 2) students knew the flow of activities to be carried out, 3) some cooking activities required repeated processes. The results of the study showed that fun cooking activities indirectly collected algorithmic tasks in the problem-solving process through the activity process that was passed.
Keterampilan berpikir komputasional berbasis aktivitas unplugged dengan mengumpulkan tugas-tugas algoritmik akhir-akhir ini menjadi perhatian. Berbagai kegiatan dapat menjadi cara untuk menstimulasi kemampuan tersebut. Fun cooking merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk anak-anak prasekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana kegiatan fun cooking dapat menstimulasi keterampilan berpikir komputasional yang telah banyak diterapkan oleh lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 18 anak ditujukan pada siswa TK Angkasa Lanud Adisucipto, Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa tugas algoritmik yang dipahami oleh sampel penelitian saat melaksanakan kegiatan fun cooking; 1) siswa tertib mendengarkan penjelasan guru terkait proses kegiatan yang akan dilakukan, 2) siswa mengetahui alur kegiatan yang akan dilakukan, 3) sebagian kegiatan memasak memerlukan proses yang berulang-ulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan fun cooking secara tidak langsung mengumpulkan tugas-tugas algoritmik dalam proses pemecahan masalah melalui proses kegiatan yang dilalui
Evolusi Dalam Perspektif Islam Dan Sains: Mengurai Miskonsepsi Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Biologi Melalui Tinjauan Literatur
Teori evolusi telah menjadi landasan dalam biologi modern, menyediakan kerangka kerja untuk memahami keanekaragaman hayati melalui seleksi alam dan mekanisme genetik. Namun, dalam konteks agama, khususnya Islam, teori ini sering menimbulkan kesalahpahaman antara Islam dan sains mengenai narasi penciptaan/asal usul manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjembatani kesalahpahaman tentang evolusi dalam Islam dan sains melalui diskusi literatur ilmiah dan teologis, dengan fokus pada pendidikan biologi. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah analisis literatur sistematis yang mencakup artikel ilmiah, tafsir Al-Qur'an, dan pendekatan filosofis yang terkait dengan hubungan antara agama dan sains. A collaborative professional development on teachers' higher order thinking
This study examines the effectiveness of collaborative professional development (CPD) programs in enhancing teachers’ ability to foster higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) among students. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data from pre- and post-intervention assessments with qualitative insights from teacher interviews and classroom observations. Findings reveal that CPD significantly improved teachers’ pedagogical strategies, particularly in designing inquiry-based tasks, facilitating open-ended questioning, and promoting critical and creative thinking. Moreover, collaborative learning communities provided opportunities for peer feedback, reflective practice, and sustained professional dialogue, which contributed to teachers’ confidence and instructional adaptability. The study underscores the pivotal role of collaborative professional development in building teacher capacity for fostering HOTS and suggests that school systems should institutionalize CPD as a strategic tool for curriculum innovation and student-centered learning
Metode Evaluasi Program Literasi Keuangan pada Sekolah Dasar
The objective of this research is to map the methodologies of assessing financial education outcomes that have been employed to date in the evaluation of financial literacy programs implemented in elementary schools. The review employs the systematic scoping review procedure and is presented in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses - Scoping Review protocol. 12 articles were identified as satisfying the research objectives and inclusion criteria among the 139 articles obtained from the Scopus, Proquest, and EBSCO Host databases. An overview was obtained regarding the implementation of financial literacy program evaluations, which encompasses knowledge, attitudes, and financial behaviors in the context of elementary school students. The results encompass the aspects being evaluated, the measurement methods, and the duration necessary to conduct the impact evaluation.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pemetaan tentang bagaimana metode pengukuran hasil pendidikan keuangan yang selama ini digunakan dalam rangka mengevaluasi program literasi keuangan yang dijalankan di sekolah dasar. Telaah menggunakan metode systematic scoping review dan disajikan dengan protokol Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses - Scoping Review. Dari 139 artikel yang diperoleh dari database Scopus, Proquest dan EBSCO Host diperoleh 12 artikel yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian serta kriteria inklusi.
