Students’ Acceptability and Attitude towards the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode for Testing Undergraduates in a Nigeria University
Abstract
Undergraduates’ acceptability and attitude towards CBT as the general mode of testing in undergraduate programs were considered in this study. The survey research design was adopted; the population consists of the students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Benin. A sample of 200 was drawn from the total number of students by random sampling. The instrument – Students Attitude and Acceptability of the CBT Scale- was used for data collection, it was developed by the researchers, and the instrument had a reliability coefficient of .076 and .082 for sections B and C respectively. Descriptive statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation) were used in answering the research questions while inferential statistics (t-test and ANOVA) were used for hypotheses testing. All statistical data analysis were done using the IBM-SPSS statistical package version 20. Findings revealed that the students have positive Attitude towards the CBT and the level of acceptability of the CBT was found to be high. However, there was no significant difference in the attitude and acceptability by sex, but there was a difference in acceptability by area of study whereas there was none in attitude. It was recommended among others that CBT be introduced as the general mode of testing in the undergraduate programmes except otherwise, in areas where it is not practicable
Art Education Curriculum in Vietnam and Indonesia: Historical Perspectives on the Impact of Colonialism, Economic Reform, and Local Cultural Heritage
This article discusses commenting on the characteristics of Vietnam and Indonesia art education curricula based on colonial influences, post-socialization economic reforms, and local cultural values. Vietnamese art education was influenced by the French art program, which began in the later decades of the nineteenth century and adopted a fine arts education program. In contrast, the Indonesian art education program started in the early part of the twentieth century and reflects the Dutch style of art education that highly valued applied arts/crafts. This study explores the reciprocal relationship between economic growth and the development of art education in both countries. Through a historical-comparative approach, this study highlights how socio-economic transformations have shaped arts education policies and practices. Moreover, it assesses the contribution of art education in developing the creative economy. It suggests measures for the improvement of art education so that it can promote sustainable cultural and economic development. Based on the results of this study, it is possible to successfully combine such local features as Bale culture with foreign art education curricula to create a solid foundation for financial culture in the region via art education.

Tren Pendekatan STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Terintegrasi Halal Pada Pembelajaran Kimia
This study aims to analyze the development and impact of project-based chemistry learning with the STREAM approach integrated with halal values through bibliometric analysis. The method used is bibliometric analysis based on metadata from Publish or Perish (PoP) mapped using VOSViewer. The database was collected using Google Scholar over the last ten years. The analysis results show that despite fluctuations in the number of publications, there is an increasing research trend on this topic, especially in recent years. Data visualization indicates several main clusters depicting the relationships between these concepts. In conclusion, integrating halal values in chemistry learning with the STREAM approach not only enhances students' motivation and engagement but also develops their critical and creative thinking skills, providing valuable guidance for educators in implementing this approach to create a more inclusive and relevant learning environment.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan dan dampak dari pembelajaran kimia berbasis proyek dengan pendekatan STREAM yang terintegrasi nilai-nilai halal melalui analisis bibliometrik. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis bibliometrik berdasarkan metadata dari Publish or Perish (PoP) yang dipetakan menggunakan VOSViewer. Database dikumpulkan menggunakan Google Scholar selama periode 10 tahun terakhir. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ada fluktuasi dalam jumlah publikasi, terdapat peningkatan tren penelitian pada topik ini, terutama dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Visualisasi data menunjukkan adanya beberapa kluster utama yang menggambarkan hubungan antara konsep-konsep tersebut. Kesimpulannya, integrasi nilai-nilai halal dalam pembelajaran kimia dengan pendekatan STREAM tidak hanya meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa, tetapi juga mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif mereka, sehingga memberikan panduan berharga bagi pendidik dalam menerapkan pendekatan ini untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih inklusif dan relevan
Brain Rot dan Krisis Literasi di Kalangan Pelajar Indonesia
The phenomenon of brain rot that is rampant among Indonesian students reflects the literacy crisis in the era of rapid and superficial digital consumption. This study analyzes the correlation between the intensity of exposure to instant digital content and the decline in critical literacy skills and reading interest among Indonesian students. Based on national and international data such as PISA 2022, as well as theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Load Theory, Uses and Gratification, and the concept of Digital Natives, this research explores how instant information consumption diminishes students' focus, working memory, and reflective capacity. In response, this study offers 21st-century literacy strategies through the strengthening of critically-based digital literacy, reflective pedagogical innovations such as slow reading and deep learning. This finding emphasizes that the literacy crisis in the digital era is not only a matter of low reading interest but also a direct result of the dissonance between the education ecosystem and students' digital culture.Fenomena kekurangan otak yang marak di kalangan pelajar Indonesia mencerminkan krisis literasi di era konsumsi digital yang cepat dan tajam. Penelitian ini menganalisis korelasi antara intensitas paparan terhadap konten digital instan dan penurunan keterampilan literasi kritis serta minat baca di kalangan pelajar Indonesia. Berdasarkan data nasional dan internasional seperti PISA 2022, serta pendekatan teoretis seperti Teori Beban Kognitif, Penggunaan dan Kepuasan, dan konsep Digital Natives, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana konsumsi informasi instan mengurangi fokus siswa, memori kerja, dan kapasitas reflektif. Sebagai tanggapan, penelitian ini menawarkan strategi literasi abad ke-21 melalui penguatan literasi digital berbasis kritis, inovasi pedagogis reflektif seperti membaca lambat dan pembelajaran mendalam. Optimizing Collaborative Learning as A Solution to Overcome Math Anxiety in Mathematics Learning: A Systematic Literature Review
Mathematics anxiety is one of the obstacles experienced by students in the learning process and has an impact on decreased motivation and academic achievement. This study aims to examine the role of collaborative learning as a solution to overcome mathematics anxiety. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with data collection through the SINTA and Google Scholar databases. Based on the established inclusion and exclusion criteria, six relevant scientific articles published between 2019 and 2025 were identified. The results of the study indicate that collaborative learning models such as Problem-Based Learning, Teams Games Tournament (TGT), Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD), Group Investigation, Fan-N-Pick, and Heroe's consistently reduce students' math anxiety levels. The commonality among these models lies in creating an active, enjoyable learning environment that supports positive social interaction among students. By encouraging students' emotional and intellectual engagement, collaborative learning has proven effective in enhancing self-confidence and mathematical concept understanding. Therefore, optimizing the implementation of collaborative learning tailored to students' characteristics is recommended as a pedagogical strategy to improve the quality of mathematics education and reduce learning anxiety across various educational levels.Kecemasan matematika merupakan salah satu kendala yang dialami siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan berdampak pada menurunnya motivasi dan prestasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pembelajaran kolaboratif sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi kecemasan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pengumpulan data melalui database SINTA dan Google Scholar. Berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang telah ditetapkan, enam artikel ilmiah yang relevan yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2019 dan 2025 berhasil diidentifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kolaboratif seperti Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Teams Games Tournament (TGT), Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD), Investigasi Kelompok, Fan-N-Pick, dan Heroe's secara konsisten mengurangi tingkat kecemasan matematika siswa. Kesamaan di antara model-model ini terletak pada penciptaan lingkungan belajar yang aktif dan menyenangkan yang mendukung interaksi sosial yang positif di antara para siswa. Dengan mendorong keterlibatan emosional dan intelektual siswa, pembelajaran kolaboratif telah terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan pemahaman konsep matematika. Oleh karena itu, optimalisasi implementasi pembelajaran kolaboratif yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik siswa direkomendasikan sebagai strategi pedagogis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan matematika dan mengurangi kecemasan belajar di berbagai jenjang pendidikan
The Implementation of Flash Card to Improve Simple English Vocabulary for Young Learners
This research explores the effectiveness of flashcards as a tool for enhancing vocabulary mastery among young English learners. The study was conducted at SD Negeri 6 Ngabul Jepara with a sample of 40 fourth-grade students, utilizing a pre-experimental design that included pre-tests and post-tests. Flashcards were employed over multiple instructional sessions to teach vocabulary related to body parts, locations, and animals. The results, analyzed through paired sample t-tests, revealed a significant enhancement in students' vocabulary skills, with the post-test mean score (58.87) considerably exceeding the pre-test mean (50.79), and a p-value of 0.002 indicating statistical significance. The study concludes that flashcards effectively improve students' vocabulary retention and motivation, making the learning process more engaging and successful. These findings suggest that flashcards serve as a valuable instructional tool for language learning, especially at the elementary level
Identifikasi Tingkat Self-Efficacy dalam Literasi Digital pada Generasi Z pada Mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi
Current students need to be aware that self-efficacy in digital literacy is essential to ensure openness to technology and to possess the competence to manage available information. Digital literacy is related to the skills required to live, learn, and work in a digital society. Students who have self-efficacy in digital literacy skills will be able to strategically use technology to find and evaluate information, connect and collaborate with others, produce and share content, and use the internet and technology to achieve various personal, academic, and professional goals. This research is conducted in the form of a quantitative approach using Two-way ANOVA data analysis. The aim of this research is to describe self-efficacy in digital literacy skills among Generation Z students and the use of information and communication technology in learning.Siswa saat ini perlu menyadari bahwa efikasi diri dalam literasi digital sangat penting untuk memastikan keterbukaan terhadap teknologi dan memiliki kompetensi untuk mengelola informasi yang tersedia. Literasi digital berkaitan dengan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk hidup, belajar, dan bekerja dalam masyarakat digital. Siswa yang memiliki efikasi diri dalam keterampilan literasi digital akan mampu menggunakan teknologi secara strategis untuk mencari dan mengevaluasi informasi, terhubung dan berkolaborasi dengan orang lain, memproduksi dan berbagi konten, serta menggunakan internet dan teknologi untuk mencapai berbagai tujuan pribadi, akademik, dan profesional. . Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis data Two-way ANOVA. Challenges and Opportunities for School Principals in Innovating at SMTK Kanaan Jaya-Jayapura
This research aims to explore the challenges and opportunities faced by the principal's leadership in increasing innovation at SMTK Kanaan Jaya, Jayapura Regency. Using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach, this study delves into the first-hand experiences of school principals, teachers, and students in facing various obstacles and taking advantage of opportunities to encourage innovation in the educational environment. This phenomenological approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of the principal's leadership transformation through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of policies implemented in schools. The data collected was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method, which included the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that school principals face challenges from within and from outside, but also find opportunities, namely policies that are in line with the demands of development that can support the principal's innovation programPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi oleh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan inovasi di SMTK Kanaan Jaya, Kabupaten Jayapura. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis, penelitian ini menggali pengalaman langsung kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa dalam menghadapi berbagai kendala dan memanfaatkan peluang untuk mendorong inovasi di lingkungan pendidikan. Modifikasi Model Pembelajaran Experiential Learning untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pedagogi Calon Guru
This study presents a modified Experiential Learning (EL) model designed to improve the pedagogical competence of pre-service teachers. Building on Kolb’s framework, the revised model integrates structured learning objectives, reflective problem-solving strategies, and abstraction ontology to enhance metacognitive, creative, and metaliteracy skills. The model emphasizes authentic classroom engagement through active experimentation and guided reflection. Developed through a systematic literature review, it offers a structured and adaptable approach for teacher education programs. While the model demonstrates theoretical potential, further empirical testing is needed to validate its effectiveness in real-world settings. This innovation contributes to the development of experiential learning frameworks that align with contemporary educational demands.Penelitian ini menghasilkan model Experiential Learning (EL) yang dimodifikasi untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik calon guru. Berdasarkan kerangka EL Kolb, model yang dikembangkan mencakup penyampaian tujuan pembelajaran, strategi pemecahan masalah reflektif, dan penerapan ontologi abstraksi guna memperkuat kemampuan metakognitif, berpikir kreatif, dan metaliterasi. Model ini menekankan pengalaman belajar autentik melalui eksperimen aktif dan refleksi terstruktur. Pengembangan model dilakukan melalui studi literatur secara sistematis dan sintesis teoretis. Meskipun memiliki potensi teoretis yang kuat, diperlukan uji empiris untuk memvalidasi efektivitasnya dalam konteks nyata pendidikan guru
The Influence of School Facilities and Social Support on Non-Academic Achievement: The Role of Study Club Extracurricular Mediation And Student Self-Efficacy
The non-academic achievement of students has not been the main focus of the school coaching strategy. Lack of facilities and low social support are considered to hinder student involvement and strengthen self-efficacy. This study aims to explore the role of extracurricular study clubs and self-efficacy as mediators in the influence of school facilities and social support on students' non-academic achievement. The survey method was used to collect data from 82 active students in the extracurricular study club of SMAN 2 Ponorogo through probability sampling techniques. The instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire 1–4 which included 5 variables and 33 research constructs. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach to test 7 direct influences and 5 indirect influences.
The results of the study showed that school facilities and social support had a positive and significant impact on students' non-academic achievement, both directly and indirectly through the mediation of self-efficacy and involvement in study clubs. Self-efficacy has been shown to have a strong mediating role in the relationship between social support and non-academic achievement. The implication of these findings is the importance of integrating extracurricular programs and confidence-building in educational strategies. This research makes a novel contribution through the simultaneous integration of physical environment variables, social support, psychological aspects, and student activities in a single PLS-SEM-based conceptual model
