    PROSES PEMBUMIAN KONSEP TAJDID MUHAMMADIYAH SEBAGAI GERAKAN ISLAM MODERNIS

    The article explores the development of Muhammadiyah in historical perspective and focuses more on Tajdid as modern Islamic movement. Tajdid movement of Muhammadiyah is always aimed to solve the problems faced by ummah based on Al-Qur\u27an and Sunnah. While the circumstance of Ummah is always changed, the Tajdid should be conducted in line with the changes. Due to Tajdid, Muhammadiyah\u27s image as a puritanical and inflexible Islamic movement slowly began to erode. Nowadays,  Tajdid continuous and is initiated by Muhammadiyah Young Intelectual Network (JIMM/Jaringan Islam Muda Muhammadiyah) to promote Islam Rahmatan Lil Alamin, to bridge the dispute of religious thoughts, to solve religious, social, cultural and economic problems such as poverty, human rights, democracy, religions harmony and the like. Finally, the article concludes the tajdid movement of Muhammadiyah has made Islam Indonesia as  moderate Islam. Artikel ini memaparkan perkembangan Muhammdiyah dalam perspektif sejarah dan memfokuskan pada Tajdid sebagai gerakan Islam modern. Gerakan Tajdid Muhammadiyah selalu bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan masalah-masalah yang dihadapi umat, dengan berdasarkan Al-Qur\u27an dan sunnah. Ketika kondisi umat berubah, maka tajdid harus dilakukan sesuai dengan perubahan tersebut. Dengan adanya konsep tajdid, imej Muhammadiyah sebagai gerakan Islam yang puritan dan kaku secara berlahan mulai terkikis. Akhir-akhir ini, tajdid terus berlangsung dan diinisiatifi oleh Jaringan Islam Muda Muhammadiyah untuk mengembangkan Islam Rahmatan Lil Alamin, untuk menjembatani perbedaan pemikiran keagamaan, untuk memecahkan persoalan agama, sosial, budaya dan ekonomi seperti kelaparan, hak asasi manusia, demokrasi, kerukunan agama dan sebagainya. Artikel ini pada akhirnya menyimpulkan bahwa gerakan tajdid Muhammadiyah telah menjadikan Islam Indonesia sebagai Islam moderat

    In recent years, the failure of Islamic political parties in Indonesia has occurred as result of inability to make a good agenda setting. To solve this problem, this article highlights the importance of the pattern of political communication (including the communicator, message, media, communicant and its effects) for Islamic political parties. It must be a serious concern in arranging the agenda setting. The agenda setting must be based on the voters aspiration and rational values. By these ways, Islamic political parties will be independence from their big names (such as NU for National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhammadiyah for Mandate National Party (PAN). Beberapa­tahun­terakhir­ini,­kegagalan­partai-partai­politik­Islam­di­Indonesiaterjadi­sebagai­akibat­dari­ketidakmampuannya­untuk­membuat­agenda­settingyang baik. Untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut, artikel ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pola komunikasi politik yang baik (termasuk komunikatornya, pesan, media, komunikan dan efek-efeknya) bagi partai politik Islam.     Reading activity which is supported by the rich reading materials has shown its positive influence in the development of civilized society today. Besides being a part of religious orders, reading is an attempt to acquire and strengthen knowledge as well as to gain new experience. The reading content reflects the needs and objectives of the readers. Now, the relationship between the authors and the readers should met. The integrity of reading content is built by the organization of main ideas and supporting ideas, making it easier for readers to analyze patterns of structured, phased, and logical orders. The idea organization in a reading text stimulates the brain to evaluate and control over what it reads. Therefore, it needs what is known as metacognition in order to create the critical literacy for our community as the text readers. We certainly expect that reading is to construct our community to be more intelligent and insightful through the ideas presented, without getting slipped on undesirable mission of the authors.Aktifitas membaca yang didukung dengan kayanya teks bacaan telah menunjukkan pengaruhnya dalam perkembangan zaman sehingga menciptakan masyarakat yang berperadaban dewasa ini. Selain merupakan bagian dari perintah agama, membaca merupakan upaya untuk memperoleh dan menguatkan pengetahuan serta mendapatkan pengalaman baru. Isi bacaan dapat merefleksikan kebutuhan dan tujuan pembacanya. Kini, hubungan antara penyampai informasi melalui bacaan (penulis) dan pembaca harus selaras. Keutuhan isi teks dibangun dari pengorganisasian ide pokok serta ide pendukung, sehingga memudahkan pembaca untuk menganalisa pola-pola yang terstruktur, bertahap, dan logis. Pengorganisasian ide ini merangsang otak untuk melakukan evaluasi dan kontrol atas apa yang dibaca. Oleh karenanya, dibutuhkan apa yang disebut sebagai metakognisi guna menciptakan daya kritis literasi masyarakat sebagai pembaca teks. Kita tentu mengharapkan bahwa bacaan memang untuk membangun setiap insan agar semakin cerdas dan menambah wawasannya seperti melalui ide-ide yang disajikan, tanpa terperangkap pada sesuatu yang tidak diinginkan, bahkan dalam isi teks itu sendiri

    METAKONDISI PENGURUS DKM DI KOTA BOGOR:: DARI KARAKTERISTIK PERSONAL SAMPAI DENGAN KINERJA

    This study aimed at describing the personal characteristics, motivation, and performance of mosque committee members (Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid). In addition, this study also attempted to describe the leadership and the managerial competence of the mosque committee chairmen. This study was conducted from May to November 2015 in Bogor regency with 215 respondents as the sample. The number of samples in each district was determined by using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that in general, the DKM members are in the productive age with high level of learning orientation. Their motivation can be classified as moderate to high, particularly on the motivation to affiliate. However, the performance of the DKM members as a whole tends to be low, with the highest performance in the program implementation. On the other hand, the leadership of DKM chairmen is categorized as middle to high, with the highest score in the ability to relate to others. Additionally, their managerial competence in general is in the moderate to high category, particularly in the internal cooperation.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang karakteristik personal, motivasi, serta kinerja pengurus DKM masjid. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menjabarkan kepemimpian ketua DKM masjid serta kompetensi manajerialnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Mei-November 2015 di Kota Bogor dengan jumlah responden 215 orang sebagai sampel. Penentuan jumlah sampel di tiap kecamatan dilakukan dengan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Data penelitian diolah dengan cara analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, pengurus DKM masjid berada pada usia produktif dalam bekerja dengan tingkat orientasi belajar yang tinggi. Motivasi kerja pengurus DKM ini juga tergolong sedang cenderung ke tinggi, dengan motivasi terbesar adalah dorongan untuk berafiliasi. Namun demikian, kinerja pengurus DKM masjid secara keseluruhan cenderung sedang ke rendah dengan kinerja tertinggi pada pelaksanaan program. Terkait dengan kepemimpinan ketua DKM, level kepemimpinan berada pada kategori sedang cenderung ke tinggi, dengan aspek kepemimpinan tertinggi pada kemampuan berhubungan dengan orang lain. Kompetensi manajerial ketua DKM pada umumnya berada pada kategori sedang cenderung ke tinggi khususnya pada kompetensi kerjasama internal

    This article describes the ritual, administrative, social, economic, cultural, and political functions and activities of the Grand Mosque of Paris. The primary and secondary data were obtained through a short visit to Paris. Focus group discussion was conducted with the mosque management, imam, jama’ah, and the visitors. The FGD is then triangulated with the data from observation inside and around the mosque. Some literatures and documents related to the mosque were also collected as the secondary data. Data were articulated and analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. The study found that the functions and roles of mosque in Paris are well articulated both from the point of view of its internal aspect and external supports. France as a country supports the existence of this mosque as a gratitude for the service of Muslim soldiers who fought for France liberty in the past. Over time, the mosque evolved and its roles and functions went through some diversification as a response to the contemporary Islamic community needs. Data primer dan sekunder diperoleh melalui kunjungan singkat ke Kota Paris. Dalam waktu yang relatif singkat tersebut, dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk melakukan diskusi kelompok sasaran (FGD) dengan beberapa orang pengelola, imam masjid, dan jamaah yang kebetulan berada dalam lingkungan masjid, serta para pengunjung. Data-data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dan FGD dikonfirmasi di lapangan melalui pengamatan langsung dengan mengelilingi semua bagian dan sisi masjid. Beberapa literatur dan dokumen yang tersedia dalam perpustakaan masjid tak luput direkam sebagai bahan pendukung (data sekunder). Setelah diartikulasikan dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif, maka fungsi dan peran masjid di hampir semua lini kehidupn umat Islam di kota Paris, dan negara Prancis secara umum terdeskripsi dengan apiknya, baik dari sisi historis, keberadaan masjid sebagai bagian dari balas jasa pemerintah dan warga Prancis atas pengorbanan ratusan ribu umat Islam yang gugur di medan perang mempertahankan wilayah kedaulatan Prancis, maupun fungsi dan peran laiknya masjid yang lain.     PEMBERANGKATAN CALON JEMAAH HAJI INDONESIA MELALUI FILIPINA

    This paper explores the challenges and issues of Hajj handling through the Philippines, the treatment to Indonesian 177 detained pilgrims and the government efforts to resolve the issues. The limited Indonesian hajj quota has caused long waiting lists for enthusiastic pilgrims to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. In some regions, such as South Sulawesi, this waiting list can take up to 40 years. The high enthusiasm of South Sulawesi people has been sought as an opportunity by travel agents to embark the pilgrims through the neighboring country whose quota has not yet fulfilled, e.g. the Philippines. As many as 177 Indonesian pilgrims during the hajj season 1438H/2016 have been processed through the Philippines agency by forging documents. This action resulted in the cancellation of hajj departure and the detention of the pilgrims by the Philippines authority. These pilgrims are detained in the Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) with minimum facilities. Through diplomatic discussion among the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Indonesian Police Agency, these 177 pilgrims have been released and sent home. Kuota haji untuk Indonesia dirasakan sangat kurang dan mengakibatkan daftar tunggu (waiting list) sangat lama di daerah tertentu hingga mencapai 40 tahun, salah satunya di Sulawesi Selatan. Tingginya animo masyarakat Sulawesi Selatan untuk menunaikan ibadah haji dijadikan peluang usaha bagi pihak-pihak perorangan maupun agen travel untuk memberangkatkan calon jemaah dari negara tetangga yang kuotanya tidak terpenuhi. Kasus keberangkatan 177 jemaah calon jemaah haji melalui Filipina pada musim haj i 1438H/2016M, dilakukan dengan menggunakan dokumen ilegal yang berakhir pada pembatalan keberangkatan dan penahanan. Pemerintah Filipina melakukan penahanan terhadap 177 orang Indonesia, di penjara Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) dengan fasilitas yang sangat minim. Pembebasan dan pemulangan 177 calon jemaah haji Indonesia yang gagal berangkat melalui Filipina merupakan upaya kerja sama antara Duta Besar RI di Manila, Kementerian Luar Negeri, Kementerian Agama, dan Kepolisian RI.     Haji Abdul Karim Amrullah is an Islamic reformer from Minangkabau who played a significant role in dawah and tabligh in the spirit of purifying the practice of Islamic values from the practice of bid\u27ah, taqlîd, and khurafat. His struggle was in line with the philosophy of traditional Minangkabau ‘adat basandi syara\u27, syara\u27 basandi kitabullah\u27. Haji Abdul Karim Amrullah who was known as Haji Rasul preached Islamic teaching both in oral and in writing. Along with Kaum Mudo Minangkabau (the youth of Minangkabau), he shared his thoughts through the Al-Munir magazine. He enforced the foundation of Islamic reformation through education by establishing Surau Jembatan Besi (Madrasah Sumatra Thawalib) and Muhammadiyah as social foundations that concern about the nation. This study examines the figure and the role of Haji Rasul in the development and renewal of Islam in Minangkabau. By employing qualitative method, particularly the historical approach, this study investigates all aspects of Haji Rasul\u27s life. With this perspective, the profile of Haji Rasul is intensively revealed, ranging from his family background, social background, education, patterns of thought, religious works, dawah activities, his role in education, his institutions, and his impact to the society.Haji Abdul Karim Amrullah merupakan ulama pembaharu Islam di Minangkabau yang berperan dan berkiprah dalam dakwah dan tablig memurnikan pengamalan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam yang sudah bercampur dengan bid\u27ah, taklid, dan khurafat. sehingga selaras dengan filsafat adat Minangkabau ‘adat basandi syara\u27 syara\u27 basandi kitabullah. Haji Abdul Karim Amrullah yang familiar dikenal dengan nama Haji Rasul seorang mubaligh purifikator yang menyiarkan dakwah Islam secara lisan maupun tulisan. Ia bersama Kaum Mudo Minangkabau mencurahkan gagasan dan pemikiran pembaharuannya melalui Majalah Al-Munir.Ia menegakkan pondasi pembaharuan Islam di Minangkabau melalui pendidikan di Surau Jembatan Besi (Madrasah Sumatera Thawalib) dan Muhammadiyah sebagai lembaga sosial yang memberikan perhatian kepada nasib bangsa.     Evangelical church named Gereja Injili in Indonesia (GIDI) has been established in Sragen since 1990. Sinceits establishment to the mid-2015, there has been no significant disagreement with the local people. A frictionappeared shortly after Tolikara conflict in July 2015. By employing a qualitative approach, this study finds outthat: first, GIDI in Sragen has not obtained a juridical license according to Joint Ministerial Regulations (PBM)No. 8 and 9 2006. Second, the accusation of Surakarta Muslim Troops (Laskar Umat Islam Surakarta) that GID I created disharmony in the society was proven not true. The church committee maintained a good cooperation with local society in terms of helping them during their celebration ceremonies. Sejak berdiri hingga pertengahan tahun 2015 tidak terjadi kendala yang berarti. Gesekan mulai muncul pasca peristiwa konflik Tolikara bulan Juli 2015. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dalam penelitian ini diperoleh temuan bahwa; Pertama, secara yuridis GIDI di Sragen belum berizin sesuai PBM No. 8 dan 9 Tahun 2006 karena gereja ini sudah ada sejak tahun 1990. Kedua, tuduhan Laskar Umat Islam Surakarta bahwa gereja tersebut meresahkan warga tidak terbukti, hal ini disebabkan pengurus gereja menjalin kerja sama dengan warga dalam bentuk gotong royong apabila di antara warga mempunyai hajatan.     This article discusses the development of Islamic banking in Indonesia, its contribution to and role in the constellation of national economy, particularly in empowerment of medium, small and micro enterprise (UMKM) which constitutes the pillar of national economy. This article also analyses a number of challenge faced by the Islamic banking institutions and attempts made by university as the centre for research, training human recourse to be capable and comprehend Islamic economy and to professionally develop Islamic financial industries, educating and advocating society for the strengthening of the regulation implementation.
