    Purpose: This study aimed to examine transvaginal gynecological procedures performed in virgin women and to evaluatehymen revision, if necessary.Methods: This retrospective study analyzed transvaginal procedures performed on 154 patients with intact hymens whopresented to a private clinic for fertility treatments between 2012 and 2024.Results: Among the 154 virgin patients, transvaginal procedures were successfully completed with the hymen remaining intactin 126 patients. Hymenal rupture occurred in 28 patients: 21 during oocyte retrieval, 3 during cyst drainage, and 4 duringhysteroscopy.Conclusion: Limited literature exists regarding transvaginal procedures in virgins. Virginity is a religious and socio-cultural valuethat holds significant importance in certain societies. This study evaluated the preservation of hymenal integrity in virgin womenundergoing transvaginal gynecological procedures, as well as defloration and revision outcomes in cases where the hymenalrupture occurred.Keywords: Hymen, vagina, vaginal mucosa, genital system</p

    The Effect of Various Surface Treatments on the Tensile Bond Strength of Denture Base Materials

    OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate the tensile bond strength of silicone-based soft lining material to denture base materials with different surface treatments (sandblasting, Nd:YAG laser, Er:YAG laser).&nbsp;MATERIALS-METHODS: In this in-vitro study, denture base materials were fabricated using three techniques: conventional, CAD/CAM milling, and 3D printing. Dumbbell-shaped specimens were prepared accordingly and randomly divided into four groups (n = 10) based on surface treatment: control (no treatment), sandblasting, Er:YAG laser, and Nd:YAG laser. After applying surface treatments, specimens were bonded with a 3 mm thick layer of silicone-based soft liner (Molloplast-B). All samples were stored in distilled water at 37°C for 24 hours prior to testing. Tensile bond strength was measured using a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 5 mm/min. The maximum tensile bond strength was noted in MPa. Data were analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk and ANOVA tests at a significance level of p =.05.&nbsp;RESULTS: The findings showed that the Nd:YAG laser significantly improved bond strength in conventionally fabricated denture base resins. For milled resins, surface treatments did not result in a statistically significant difference. However, for 3D-printed resins, all surface treatments significantly increased the bond strength compared to the control group (p &lt; 0.05). Among all groups, 3D-printed samples showed the highest tensile bond strength, regardless of the treatment applied.&nbsp;CONCLUSIONS: Surface treatments increase the tensile bond strength between silicone-based liners and denture base resins. The most effective method was the Nd:YAG laser, particularly for conventional and 3D-printed bases. For milled bases, surface treatment had limited impact.     Minimum intervention dentistry in the management of early childhood caries lesions: A narrative review

    Early childhood caries (ECC) is defined as the presence of one or more cavitatedor noncavitated lesions, missing (due to caries), or filled surfaces in any primarytooth in a child under six years of age. ECC is a prevalent and chronic conditionthat requires effective, evidence-based management. This narrative reviewaimed to present an evidence-based overview of minimally invasive dentistry(MID) strategies for the management of ECC, focusing on their clinicalrationale, classification, and application based on lesion characteristics. Acomprehensive literature search was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, andWeb of Science to identify recent studies, systematic reviews, and clinicalguidelines published between 2019 and 2025. MID strategies were categorizedas non-invasive, micro-invasive, minimally invasive, and mixed, based on lesionactivity, cavitation, and cleanability. Evidence from randomized controlled trialsand meta-analyses supports the use of micro-invasive methods like sealants andresin infiltration for non-cavitated lesions, while minimally invasive and mixedstrategies, including the Hall technique and selective caries removal, are moreappropriate for cavitated lesions. Ultimately, ECC management should aim toretain teeth symptom-free until natural exfoliation while preserving function,form, and aesthetics with minimal tissue loss. The application of MID principlesenables personalized, child-friendly treatment planning and should be guided byupdated expert consensus and lesion-specific criteria.Keywords:&nbsp;Caries Lesions; Consensus; Primary Tooth; Strategies</p
