Umetničko predstavljanje Babjeg Jara kao metafore Holokausta mecima
Professor Louise O. Vasvári spoke about the issue of studying the Holocaust in Hungary, taking into account the female perspective. She was holding a lecture on Hungarian-speaking women’s Holocaust life writing. The second lecturer was Dávid Szőke, from the University of Szeged. His presentation was Memorialisation as an artistic counter-strategy to the antigypsy gaze in Igor Krikunov’s "The leader". He deals with the topic of the Holocaust through the prism of literature. The last lecture, titled "The artistic representation of Baby Yar as the metaphor for Holocaust by bullets", was given by Márta Goldmann, professor and Holocaust expert. She was talking about the massacre in Babin Jar from a slightly different angle. Događaj u organizaciji ShoahLab: Laboratorija za izučavanje Holokausta IFDT (ShoahLab event: IFDT Holocaust Research Laboratory).Predavanje održano 26. oktobra 2022. godine preko Zoom platforme od 17 časova, (the lecture was held on October 26, 2022, via the Zoom platform from 5 p.m.).Trajanje 1:59:36 minuta (duration 1:59:36 minutes)YouTube link [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMwCgWdctLE&list=PLxYbh6oD_DS2QDilhLI_NziJWYyq8mfac&index=5

List of the Jews who were shot on Ledine on September 17, 1941
The list of Jews shot at Ledine on September 17, 1941, given here is based on the book "Banjica camp: inmates: books of prisoners of the Belgrade-Banjica concentration camp: (1941-1944)", VOLUME ONE, book 1, pages 077-092. In the list, the names of the Jews shot at the "Trostruki Surduk" location in Ledine are given. The list includes each name and surname of the shot person, data of occupation, year and place of birth, father's and mother's names, marital status, for married names of wife and children (if any), address and place of residence are given, specifying as Jews nationality, the date of arrival in the Banjica camp, and the date of being taken from the camp to be shot. For 187 registered persons "Jewish camp Zemun" (which was Ledine) was mentioned as the place of execution, while for four who were taken to be shot that day, these data were not registered, most likely by mistake. These data were obtained after the war, through the statements of witnesses from the location of the shootings (Ledine) and the exhumation of 240 bodies, which corresponds to the number of 191 Jews and 49 communists who were shot, the number also given on the list from the Banjic camp. The serial number next to each name is given identically according to the numbering from the book.Spisak uredio i postavio na sajt "Makabijada" Raka Levi (the list was edited and posted on the "Makabijada" website by Raka Levi), link: [http://www.makabijada.com/MEM/Ledine%20zrtve.htm
Sefardski Jevreji između verskog, etničkog i nacionalnog identiteta
Even our era of fluid and overlapping identities has not ended the age-old tension between different aspects and perceptions of Jewish identity. Is the principal determinant of Jewish identity a person’s relationship to "Judaism", or should Jewishness be perceived primarily as an ethnic culture and identity? After all, the term Iudaismos (Judaism) is not a Jewish one; it was coined by the ancient Greeks to designate the laws and customs of the people of the Israelite state of Judah. The pre-modern Hebrew language did not even have a word for "religion". Classical rabbinic texts generally do not speak of "Jews", but rather of the collective "Israel", whose redemption would be communal and occur in history, within this world. However, during their long Diaspora, the overwhelming majority of Jews lived in one of the two hemispheres, Christian or Islamic, and in both, they were recognized as an ethnic-confessional entity, with rare ruptures between the two components of this syntagm. Rupture in one of these components was usually accompanied by the rupture in the other. However, the Hispano-Christian "crusade" against Judaism (led mainly by local clerics, theologians, and preachers), led to the near-destruction of Castilian and Aragonese aljamas from 1391 to 1415, and to the concomitant problem of judeoconversos, subverted the validity of this syntagm. For the first time, the religion and ethnicity of tens of thousands of people once known - and still widely regarded - as Jews were at odds. The New Christians were Jewish in terms of their social and economic relations, their ethnic culture, and their social reputation; yet their religious identity was at least theoretically identical to that of the majority population. The Expulsion sought to end the Jewish subversion of the assimilation of New Christians into their new faith, but the "problem" endured well into our own days. In subsequent centuries, while the overwhelming majority of their Ottoman brethren reembraced the securities of the double but mostly indivisible ethno-confessional identity, the Conversos played a major role in shifts and changes in the ways that Jews and Christians understood the relation between religion, society, and state. In the two Serbian revolutions of the early nineteenth century, followed by the Greek and Bulgarian uprisings, the Ottoman Jewish rabbinic elite (including such figures as Ribbi Yehuda Bivas and Ribbi Yehuda Alkalay) led a revolutionary change of Jewish identity, creating the Jewish national idea and the Zionist movement.Čak ni naša era fluidnih i preklapajućih identiteta nije okončala vekovnu napetost između različitih aspekata i percepcija jevrejskog identiteta.
The main intention of the work is to show the characters mother and sister in the trilogy "Family circus" by Danilo Kiš. This trilogy contains novels: "Garden, ashes" (Bašta, pepeo), "Hourglass" (Peščanik), and "Early sorrows" (Rani jadi). We aim to show that the character of the sister, although not shown in detail in the trilogy like the figure of the father, is important because it reflects the childhood of his brother Andreas Sam. That is why the descriptions of the sister's character and appearance are best seen in the works "Garden, ashes" and "Early sorrows". We can conclude that she represents a companion through all stages of her brother's life. Although different from him, Ana Sam supports her younger brother and shares with him all the hardships that befell them during the Holocaust. On the other hand, the mother is portrayed as a character opposite to the father, devoid of flaws. In addition, there is no feeling of frustration in the relationship between mother and son, like those present towards the father, but also the sister who shares his characteristics. Thus, the analysis of the trilogy has the goal to demonstrate the attachment to the mother and the perspective of a person who is not a Jew but feels the consequences of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust suffered by her family.Pod pokrovitelјstvom "Claims Conference ( Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany)", Centar za studije sećanja Univerziteta u Kragujevcu - čiji je osnivač i rukovodilac prof. dr Katarina Melić - akademske 2021/2022. godine je dalekosežno pokrenuo Studije Holokausta. O likovima-žrtvama Holokausta dati su uvidi u formi taksativno navedenih biografskih informacija, dok je posebna pažnja posvećena antisemitizmu i to u odelјku svakog teksta, naslovlјenom: „Znakovi i posledice antisemitizma/Holokausta”.Sponsored by "Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany"), the Centre for the Study of Memory of the University of Kragujevac - whose founder and the head is prof. Katarina Melić, PhD, full professor - has, during the academic year of 2021/2022, issued forth the Holocaust Studies. One of the realized courses, "Investigative Discourse in Literature" (prof. Dragan Bošković, PhD, full professor) was held in the winter semester of the academic year of 2021/2022 and was focused on the creative work of Danilo Kiš through a problem-solving approach. Apart from re-examining the character and meaning of investigative discourse - the elementary mechanism of epistemology, narration and poetics - analytical perception of literary representations of the Holocaust and antisemitism in Kiš’s work represented the primary intention of the course, and one of the results of course activities was the presentation of Kiš’s characters-victims of the Holocaust. Thus, the attendees of the course sought to single out the heroes (characters-victims) from the "Family Circus", "A Tomb for Boris Davidovich", Kiš’s plays and the television show "Naked Life". Examining (or: shaping) their identities, the students paid special attention to the antisemitic mark on them, as well as their tragic sufferings. Having noticed the symbolic significance of the completed presentations, while concurrently depicting the victims of the Holocaust in Kiš’s oeuvre, there emerged an idea to transform power-point presentations into the form of manuscripts, and not just any, but manuscripts similar to “identity cards”. In order to appreciate the consequences of the Holocaust, as well as to present the identities of the victims and hear their voices, the following manuscripts represent a homage to the dead - to those who may be dead only after they have spoken through literature, through discourse. By speaking through literature and through these manuscripts, the dead assert themselves as victims, and thus as “immortals”. Therefore, this thematic issue - "The Memorial Museum of the Holocaust Victims in the Oeuvre of Danilo Kiš" - constitutes a contribution to the narrative embodiment of Kiš’s victims who, as Paul Ricoeur would say, “cry out for retribution and invoke a story”. This small-scale thematic issue is, hence, their and our “retribution”, their and our “story”. This is one of six manuscripts whose authors are PhD students at the Faculty of Philology and Arts, University of Kragujevac, and these are the first manuscripts of this type in the entire history of Kišology. Insights into the characters-victims of the Holocaust are provided in the form of exhaustive specifications of biographical information, paying special attention to antisemitism in a particular section of each manuscript, entitled: „Signs and Consequences of Antisemitism/Holocaust”
The poetics of the testimony of the saved: from megilas to the big story
preživelim članovima „Radnih odreda” i dela Prima Levija/Primo Levi, takođe preživelog zaroblјenika logora „Aušvic”. Analiza navedenih morfološki i metodološki različitih svedočanstava (svitaka, dnevničkih beležaka, razgovora, autobiografsko-memoarskih zapisa, tekstova na linimalnoj poziciji romana, eseja i naučne studije) dovodi do zaklјučka o njihovom doprinosu usložnjavanju žanrovskog sistema književno-naučnih
The subject of the paper is the analysis of genre features of the heterogeneous corpus of Holocaust testimonies created directly in the Nazi Concentration Camps and those formed from a greater time distance from lived experiences, preserved in the form of documents or transcribed conversations. The research material consists of Megilas Oyshvits (1973), conversations of Gideon Greif, the most important historian of the Holocaust, with surviving members of the “Sonderkommandos” and the work of Primo Levi, also a surviving prisoner of the Auschwitz camp. The analysis of the mentioned morphologically and methodologically different testimonies (megilas, diary notes, conversations, autobiographical-memoir records, texts on the linear position of novels, essays and scientific studies) leads to the conclusion of their contribution to complicating the genre system of literary-scientific types and deconstructing some elementary settings. Connection with factography as the “pole” of truth and science in them
Bosnian Sephards in the works of Laura Papo Bohoreta
Ovim radom ukazat ćemo kako je Laura Papo, kroz svoje ženske likove i njihovu borbu, popločala put kojim žene Sefartkinje postižu svoj intelektualni razvoj i proces afirmiranja žene izvan njenog doma.In this paper, we will look into the work of Laura Papo Bohoreta, a Sephardic author who lived and
created in the first half of the twentieth century. Given that all her works are written in her native Jewish-Spanish language, our goal in this work is to point out the specifics of her creativity, to bring it closer to a wider readership. We especially aim to emphasize her enlightening role, and the role of guardian of tradition, culture, and language which she created and inherited. A particularly important segment on which her overall creativity is based is the role of women in society at that time. With this work, we will show how Laura Papo, through her female characters and their struggle, paved the way for Sephardic women to achieve their intellectual development and the process of affirming a woman outside her home.Link: [http://dhs.ff.untz.ba/index.php/home/issue/view/25]

The fate of the archives of Jewish communities during the second world war - following the lead of the registry books
The documents presented in this paper point to the conclusion that the archives
of Jewish communities, and probably also the inventories of synagogues, were not
primarily destroyed by the Ustasha regime. There are certainly some exceptions and
the archives and inventory of Jewish communities and synagogues in some cities
were immediately destroyed at the very beginning of the war. A written trace of the
further fate of non-destroyed material exists only for register books and, partially,
other archival material. The eventual discovery of the post-war handover
documentation (if it exists at all) could perhaps shed light on the fate of the rest of the
archival material, as well as the liturgical objects.
