Zašto sam pustila maminu ruku?!
In five books, "We Survived: Yugoslav Jews on the Holocaust" (three of them translated into English), the testimonies of a small number of surviving members of the Jewish community about World War II were collected. The peculiarity of the circumstances in which the entire population of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was found is reflected in the fact that at the beginning of the war, the country was occupied by five invaders: Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Albania and the fascist satellite formation, the so-called. The Independent State of Croatia. These circumstances also led to different ways of surviving and rescuing Jews from these areas. The Jewish Historical Museum of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Yugoslavia / Serbia published these books with the help of donations and volunteer work of the editorial board in which seven of nine members survived the Holocaust. These books are an extraordinary collection of tragic and dramatic experiences about unique choices - the struggle for life, dignity, and freedom in partisans; about concentration camps, about refugee life under constant threat, about help and friendships. They are also a good basis for exploring the Holocaust and the history of Jews from the former Yugoslavia. Each testimony is enriched with a series of photographs and together with the text, they make unique documentation material. As the suffering of Jews on the territory of the former Yugoslavia is poorly known to the general public, these books have the task of filling that space. They thus become a memorial for all the victims whose many names are found only in memory. One of those memories is "Why did I let go of mother's hand?!" by Lea Šrajer

Seminar on the book: Jovan Byford - Genocide in the Independent State of Croatia in pictures
Genocide in the Independent State of Croatia in pictures tries to fill some gaps in the existing literature by analyzing the visual culture of atrocities in the former Yugoslavia. Its main topic is the history and politics of the visual representation of the bloodiest. Still, also the most controversial event from the time of the Nazi occupation of Yugoslavia. This event politically caused the greatest division - it is about genocidal violence against Serbs, Jews and Roma in the Independent State of Croatia. The book investigates how the Ustasha atrocities were presented at public exhibitions, in documentary films, books and the press from 1945 to the present day, focusing on the political dimension of the images of the atrocities. She points out how photographs of Ustasha's crimes have, at different times and among various memory communities and stakeholders, been selectively used to do different things: to justify retaliation against collaborators and other cooperators of the occupiers in the immediate aftermath of the war, to support on discourses of national unity which were the foundation of socialist Yugoslavia or that in the post-communist era they serve as a support for various nationalist programs and become part of the 'preparation' for the Yugoslav wars of the 90s year. In researching this neglected aspect of Yugoslav history and visual culture, Jovan Byford points to the intricate connections of political, cultural and psychological factors that explain the power of images of atrocities to shape collective memory.Događaj u organizaciji ShoahLab: Laboratorija za izučavanje Holokausta IFDT (ShoahLab event: IFDT Holocaust Research Laboratory).Predavanje održano 9. juna 2023. godine (the lecture was held on Juny 9, 2023).Trajanje 1:58:09 minuta (duration 1:58:09 minutes).YouTube link [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL4HuZzDOkM&list=PLxYbh6oD_DS2QDilhLI_NziJWYyq8mfac&index=2&t=217s
The Holocaust and theological dimensions of the psychedelic experience
Theology of intolerance and the Holocaust - from the chosen individual to the chosen people

One hundred and fifty years of Geca Kon [exhibition]
Štampao je sabrana dela najpoznatijih književnika svoga doba: „Istoriju Srba“ Konstantina Jiričeka, „Karakterologiju Jugoslovena“ Vladimira Dvornikovića, „Balkansko poluostrvo“ Jovana Cvijića i enciklopedijsko izdanje „Srpski narod u devetnaestom veku“. The exhibition about Geca Kon (1873-1941) was set up and opened on December 11, 2023, in the gallery space on the first floor of the former bookstore "Prosveta - Geca Kon" (now "Službeni Glasnik") at Knez Mihajlova Street No. 12. The organizer of the exhibition was "Službeni Glasnik", and the content, texts and images for posters were prepared by Mento Mentović, Jovan Raković and Vlado Milojević. The exhibition is made of 22 posters that chronologically follow and describe the phases of Geca Kon's family and work life. This well-known and admitted Belgrade, Serbian and Yugoslav publisher and bookseller opened his first bookstore in Belgrade in 1901. While working at the bookstore, he also parallel started publishing. He first published works in the fields of law, social sciences and literature, as well as university and school textbooks. He was the initiator of several editions. The most significant are the children's editions "The Golden Book" and "The Blue Bird", the library of old books "Pleiade" and the philosophical library "Caryatids". He printed the collected works of the most famous writers of his time: "History of the Serbs" by Konstantin Jiriček, "Characteristics of the Yugoslavs" by Vladimir Dvorniković, "Balkan Peninsula" by Jovan Cvijić and the encyclopedic edition "Serbian People in the Nineteenth Century". In the period between the two world wars, he published over 5,000 different titles and thus became the largest publisher in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. His bookshop became a meeting and gathering place for prominent writers and intellectuals of that period. Many writers and intellectuals of that time - Slobodan Jovanović, Branislav Nušić, Andra Gavrilović, Jaša Prodanović, Božidar Kovačević, Miloš Crnjanski and others gathered around him. During forty years of his dedicated work, he improved the Serbian book and publishing industry by following modern European trends. In 1941, he and his family were arrested and killed by the German occupiers. Geca Kon's publishing house and bookshop in Belgrade, as a place connected with the personality and activities of one of the most important cultural and educational labourers and a gathering place for the leading intellectuals of that time, is a strong testimony of the rise of the cultural and social life of Belgrade between the two world wars. This place was declared a cultural monument in 2009
