No full textThis article is intended to be just an introductory contribution to understanding some aspects of the educational thoughts of the Italian philosopher Antonio Gramsci, published in the weekly paper L\u27Ordine Nuovo. Therefore, this text aims at analyzing a few documents written for the mentioned paper, together with some observations on the socio-political and educational fields between 1919 and 1920. O artigo pretende ser uma contribuição apenas introdutória à compreensão de alguns dos aspectos do pensamento educacional do filósofo italiano Antonio Gramsci, divulgado no semanário L\u27Ordine Nuovo. Assim, o texto não tem maiores pretensões, senão analisar alguns documentos escritos para o referido jornal, juntamente com pequenas observações no âmbito sócio-político e educacional, no período de 1919 a 1920.

No full textIt has become the custom to designate Plato, a priori, as a thinker who adopted and defended dualism. However, a more attentive reading makes possible another vision, especially as regards the body and the soul. The present article seeks to deal with this new vision. Tornou-se constante, de forma apriorística, designar Platão como um pensador que assumiu e defendeu o dualismo. Entretanto, uma leitura mais atenta nos possibilitará uma outra visão, especialmente no que se refere ao corpo e à alma. O presente artigo pretende tratar dessa releitura. 
Conceitos fundamentais da sociologia de Durkheim
No full textThis article tries to specify the main conceptual tools for the social theory formulated by one of the founders of modern sociology, the French Emile Durkheim. It also tries to show that positivism — the epistemologic basis of which Durkheim was also one of the creators — is expressed in some branches of the so called post-modern thought which, like Durkheim, sees human action almost completely imprisoned in social restrictions. O artigo busca elencar as principais ferramentas conceituais para a teoria social formulada por um dos fundadores da sociologia moderna, o francês Emile Durkheim. Procura, ainda, mostrar que o positivismo — base epistemológica da qual Durkheim também foi um dos criadores — manifesta-se em algumas linhas do chamado pensamento pós-moderno que, como Durkheim, vê a ação humana aprisionada, de forma quase absoluta, aos condicionantes sociais. 
Estabilização de preços e padrão de vida básico do sorocabano
No full textThis article tries to show which main changes have occurred in the basic standard of living of the population of Sorocaba resulting from the price stability achieved by the “Plano Real” (*). The analysis of data of up-to-date brands, of the average ammount of purchasing and the average price of the consumer\u27s basic meal products shows, first of all, that the lunch ingredients have been enriched; secondly, that there was a replacement of inferior goods by prestige goods; and finally, that the inhabitanis of Sorocaba have also chosen to change brands, replacing the ones of poorer quality by others of better quality. Summing up, the research shows that the consumers from Sorocaba were successful in improving their basic standard of living during the “Plano Real”, concerning food, hygienic products and household cleaning materials. O artigo procura mostrar quais foram as principais modificações no padrão de vida básico do sorocabano, decorrentes da estabilização de preços alcançada pelo Plano Real. A análise dos dados de atualização de marcas, do volume médio de compras e do preço médio dos produtos da cesta básica evidencia, primeiro, que melhorou a refeição do almoço; segundo, que houve substituição de bens inferiores por superiores; e, finalmente, que os sorocabanos também optaram por trocar de marca, substituindo as inferiores por superiores. Noutras palavras, a pesquisa mostra que os consumidores de Sorocaba conseguiram melhorar o padrão de vida básico no Plano Real, isto é, o padrão de vida restrito à alimentação, higiene e limpeza doméstica.
