Similar and self-similar null Cartan curves in Minkowski-Lorentzian spaces
In this paper, differential invariants of null Cartan curves are studied in (n+2) dimensional Lorentzian similarity geometry. The fundamental theorem for a null Cartan curve in similarity geometry is investigated and the characterization of all self-similar null Cartan curves parameterized by de Sitter parameter in Minkowski space-time is given. No sponso
How does the cross-cultural view shape the destination brand personality and brand image? Evidence from the travelers
This study aims to (a) reveal the relationships between the destination brand personality (DBP), destination brand image (DBI), satisfaction, and post-experience behaviors (PEBs), (b) unveil divergences by nationality in terms of DBP, (c) analyze the mediating role of destination satisfaction on the post-experience behaviors (PEBs), and (d) evaluate the moderated mediation by nationality in the structural model. The quantitative method was adopted, and the data was collected from a sample of 1688 British, Russian, German, and Turkish tourists who visited Antalya destination of Turkey. The findings reveal that DBP has four dimensions: excitement, sincerity, androgyny, and competence. The dimensions of DBP play a significant role in building DBI. Path analysis results indicate that tourists’ positive perception of DBP influences DBI and satisfaction. It has been found that the PEBs are highly predicted by the positive perception of DBI through satisfaction. The results reveal that the relationship between satisfaction with DBI and DBP is positively moderated by nationality as an indicator of culture. The moderated mediation effect is stronger for British and German tourists than Turkish and Russians. No sponso
The role of non-governmental organizations in destination marketing: case of Antalya
Destination marketing is a complex and collective effort that requires the contribution of different stakeholders. Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) play an important role in the promotion of the destination. DMOs consist of particular stakeholders, use different marketing channels and act according to the marketing strategy of the country. They are responsible for the competitiveness of the destination and try to attract visitors by following effective marketing strategies. Today, DMOs’ promotional activites are aided by social media and other technological innovations. This research aims to explain the role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in destination marketing in terms of their use of social media, other promotional activities and collobarative marketing efforts. For this purpose, Antalya which is known as the capital of tourism in Turkey is chosen. NGOs that have Antalya, Tourism or Promotion in their names are covered in this research. Another research question is to determine the change in their marketing facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research discusses the efficieny and types of their activities and proposes a systems approach to be developed. The implementation and necessity of collaborative destination marketing is discussed. The impact of COVID-19 on destination
marketing from the perspective of NGOs is evaluated. No sponso
Seismic risk assessment of building stock in Esenler district of Istanbul province
Esenler district is mostly composed of slums, buildings that have completed their life, old and risky buildings. Especially in recent years, urban transformation studies have been initiated to bring the unhealthy settlement conditions and building quality in these areas to a livable level. In the last ten years, many legal studies on urban transformation have been initiated. Even if the existing buildings in Esenler are considered to be risky, the owners of the buildings do not have the knowledge, opportunity and sufficient economic level to have their buildings rebuilt. Very few people are aware of the vital importance of being at risk of earthquakes. In Esenler, where urban transformation has been on the agenda in recent years, the majority of the people have asked the administration to renovate their apartments and workplaces after risk assessment. Thanks to the Principles Regarding the Detection of Risky Buildings (RYTEIE 2019) regulation, buildings can be ranked according to their risk status by calculating the building performance score in order to obtain information about buildings that are considered risky. With this study, the urban transformation carried out in Esenler District will be discussed and the process will be analyzed from determination to reconciliation within the scope of the Principles for Detection of Risky Buildings (RYTEİE 2019).No sponso
Multiple input multiple output with antenna number modulation and its applications
Multi-user applications of multiple input multiple output systems with antenna number modulation (MIMO-ANM) are proposed in this thesis to be used instead of conventional MIMO and its other variations for providing more advantageous and reliable data transmission in future wireless systems. In the MIMO-ANM scheme, the additional data bits are conveyed by changing the number of active transmit antennas instead of their
indices. To utilize all available antennas of MIMO-ANM, Multi-User MIMO-ANM and Multi-User OFDM-SNM are proposed in this thesis as novel multi-access data transmission methods that target serving multiple users by dedicating the antennas/subcarriers used for implementing ANM/SNM to serve a far user, whereas the remaining antennas/subcarriers are used to send data for a near user. The acquired results show that MIMO-ANM and its applications for different communication scenarios offer highly competitive performances and desirable benefits for future wireless networks. No sponso
Examining the relationship between perinatal anxiety, COVID-19 phobia and birth type preferences: A cross-sectional study
Aim: To examine the relationship between the COVID-19 phobia and perinatal anxi-ety levels and birth type preferences of pregnant women in the third trimester.Design: This was designed a cross-sectional study using the non- random convenience sampling method following the STROBE checklist. Methods: The research was conducted with 315 pregnant women from April to May 2021. Data were collected using a personal information form, the COVID-19 Phobia Scale, and the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS).Results: We found a positive and moderate correlation between the total scores for peri-natal anxiety and COVID-19 phobia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, 4.1% of the partici-pants changed their birth type preferences and this change was statistically significant according to McNemar's test. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the women changed their birth type preferences in favour of caesarean section. However, there was no statisti-cally significant difference between those who changed their birth type preferences and those who did not in terms of perinatal anxiety or COVID-19 phobia levels. Women with no access to prenatal follow-up visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic had higher mean PASS scores and higher mean scores for the perfectionism, control and trauma subscale. The scores for general worry and specific fears were lower among individuals who had obtained information about birth types in prenatal follow-up visits. Also, perinatal anxi-ety and COVID-19 phobia levels were higher among pregnant women who were worried about giving birth in hospital compared to those who were not worried. Conclusion: We conclude that COVID-19 phobia has increased women's perinatal anxiety, causing them to change their birth type preferences in favour of caesarean section.Relevance to clinical practice: We recommended that healthcare professionals take COVID-19 phobia and perinatal anxiety into account when counselling pregnant women about birth types to improve prenatal care.No patient or public contribution: No patient or public contribution was required to design, to outcome measures or undertake this research. Patients/members of the public contributed only to the data collection. Data were obtained from pregnant women in the third trimester, who came to a regional hospital-affiliated obstetrics polyclinic for routine prenatal follow-up visits. No sponso

Maksiller premolar radiküler oluğu: “tehlikeli bölge”midir?
Objectives: To evaluate the presence of radicular groove and dentin thickness on the palatal aspect of the buccal root of maxillary first premolars using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and methods: Images of 312 maxillary first premolars belonging to 187 patients (between 18-69 years, 94 females and 93 males) who were referred to the clinic were retrospectively reviewed. Root canal treatment, periapical lesion, and post-core were excluded. One and three-rooted premolars were also excluded. CBCT images were viewed on the axial plane to detect grooves. The concave area on the palatal aspect of the buccal root was recorded as a groove. Buccal and palatal dentin thicknesses were measured by two observers at the level of 3 mm below furcation. Statistical analyses were performed. Results: Buccal and palatal thicknesses were 1.28(±0.25) and 0.87(±0.13) mm, respectively. According to Student’s t-test, buccal dentin thickness was statistically higher than palatal dentin. The prevalence of groove was 82.05%. While palatal thickness without groove was 0.93(±0.14) mm, palatal thickness corresponding to groove was 0.82(±0.12) mm. One-way ANOVA showed palatal and buccal thickness in group 1 (18-35 years) was statistically lower than group 3 (>65 years). No statistical difference in thickness was observed between sex and left or right side. Conclusions: Palatal thickness related to groove can be considered a “danger zone” for post-core and endodontic treatment. Considering the high prevalence (82.05%) and thin dentin of the groove, more conservative canal and post space preparation and CBCT examination are recommended to avoid perforation.
