Alt ekstremite lenfödem hastalarında kinezyofobi, fiziksel performans ve denge arasındaki ilişki
Purpose: Lymphedema is an important situation that causes physical and psychological lifethreatening problems. This study researches kinesiophobia in lower extremity patients and scrutinizes the relationship between kinesiophobia, physical performance and balance.
Methods: This cross-sectional controlled study included 40 individuals diagnosed with lower extremity lymphedema with a mean age of 42.58±10.30 years and 31 healthy individuals with a mean age of 40.65 ± 9.53 years. The evaluation of patients with unilateral lymphedema without cognitive and visual problems and those without orthopedic and neurological disorders that would prevent walking and those without heart disease and hypertension was carried out between November 2018 and March 2019. Static balance was evaluated with standing on One leg Balance Test, fear of movement was evaluated with Tampa Scale Kinesiophobia and functional levels were evaluated with Timed Up and Go test.
Results. Static balance and physical performance of lower extremity lymphedema patients were different from healthy individuals (p<0.05). Static balance and physical performance were lower in these patients than in healthy individuals. Patients with lower extremity lymphedema had a severe fear of movement (37 and above). There was a significant moderate correlation between kinesiophobia and balance (r= -0.536 p= 0.001), kinesiophobia and physical performance (r= 0.522 p= 0.001) in lower extremity lymphedema patients. And this correlation was more in healthy individuals.
Conclusions: High fear of movement and decreased physical performance and balance were found in patients with lower extremity lymphedema. Early diagnosis and treatment of complications due to lymphedema is important for the clinical results of this patient group.Amaç: Lenfödem, fiziksel ve psikolojik yaşamı tehdit eden sorunlara neden olan önemli bir durumdur. Bu çalışma, alt ekstremite hastalarında kinezyofobiyi araştırmakta ve kinezyofobi, fiziksel performans ve denge arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektedir. Yöntem: Bu kesitsel kontrollü çalışmaya, yaş ortalaması 42,58±10,30 yıl olan alt ekstremite lenfödem tanısı konan 40 kişi ve yaş ortalaması 40,65 ± 9,53 yıl olan 31 sağlıklı birey dahil edildi. Tek taraflı lenfödemi bulunan ve bilişsel ve görsel sorunu olmayan, yürümeyi engelleyecek ortopedik ve nörolojik bozukluğu olmayan, kalp hastalığı ve hipertansiyonu olmayan hastaların değerlendirilmesi Kasım 2018-Mart 2019 tarihleri arasında yapıldı. Statik denge tek ayak üzerinde durma testi ile hareket korkusu Tampa Kinezyofobi Ölçeği ile, fonksiyonel düzeyleri ise Zamanlı Kalk Yürü Testi ile değerlendirildi. Sonuçlar: Alt ekstremite lenfödem hastalarının statik dengesi ve fiziksel performansı sağlıklı bireylerden farklıydı (p<0,05). Bu hastalarda statik denge ve fiziksel performans sağlıklı bireylere göre daha düşüktü. Alt ekstremite lenfödemli hastalarda şiddetli hareket korkusu vardı (37 ve üzeri). Alt ekstremite lenfödem hastalarında kinezyofobi ile denge (r= -0,536 p= 0,001), kinezyofobi ve fiziksel performans (r= 0,522 p= 0,001) arasında orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki vardı. Bu korelasyon sağlıklı bireylerde daha fazlaydı. Tartışma: Alt ekstremite lenfödemli hastalarda yüksek hareket korkusu, fiziksel performans ve dengede azalma bulundu. Examining the impacts of restaurant attributes on satisfaction and storytelling: the case of Turkey
The current research aimed to search the impacts of restaurant attributes on satisfaction, and the impacts of satisfaction on storytelling in restaurants. The data was obtained from 226 academicians and administrators of 8 universities which were both public and private in Gaziantep, Hatay, Şanlıurfa, and Adana provinces of Turkey. The results revealed that food attributes, employees, and physical environment positively affect customer

Exposure to boron trioxide nanoparticles and ions cause oxidative stress, DNA damage, and phenotypic alterations in Drosophila melanogaster as an in vivo model
Boron trioxide nanoparticles (B2O3 NPs) have recently been widely used in a range of applications including electronic device technologies, acousto-optic apparatus fields, and as nanopowder for the production of special glasses. We propose Drosophila melanogaster as a useful in vivo model system to study the genotoxic risks associated with NP exposure. In this study, we have conducted a genotoxic evaluation of B2O3 NPs (size average 55.52 ± 1.41 nm) and its ionic form in D. melanogaster. B2O3 NPs were supplied to third instar larvae at concentrations ranging from 0.1–10 mM. Toxicity, intracellular oxidative stress (reactive oxygen species, ROS), phenotypic alterations, genotoxic effect (via the wing somatic mutation and recombination test, SMART), and DNA damage (via Comet assay) were the end-points evaluated. B2O3 NPs did not cause any mutagenic/recombinogenic effects in all tested non-toxic concentrations in Drosophila SMART. Negative data were also obtained with the ionic form. Exposure to B2O3 NPs and its ionic form (at two highest concentrations, 2.5 and 5 mM) was found to induce DNA damage in Comet assay. Additionally, ROS induction in hemocytes and phenotypic alterations were determined in the mouths and legs of Drosophila. This study is the first study reporting genotoxicity data in the somatic cells of Drosophila larvae, emphasizing the importance of D. melanogaster as a model organism in investigating the different biological effects in a concentration-dependent manner caused by B2O3 NPs and its ionic form. Regulatory role of role con flict and role uncertainty in the relationship of organizational justice and creativity
Bu çalışmada örgütsel adalet ile yaratıcılık ilişkisi incelenirken, rol çatışması ve rol belirsizliğinin düzenleyici rolü araştırılmıştır. Çalışmansın ilk aşamasında değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiler literatür taraması ile incelenerek araştırma hipotezleri oluşturulmuştur. İkinci aşamada kolayda örneklem yöntemi kullanarak seçilen 396 banka çalışanı üzerinde bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Üçüncü ve son aşamada ise değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiler korelasyon analizleri ile incelenirken, araştırma hipotezleri düzenleyici regresyon analizleri ile test edilmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilmiş olan bulgular ışığında, örgütsel adaletin alt bileşenlerinin yaratıcılık üzerinde pozitif yönde anlamlı etkilere sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte örgütsel adaletin boyutları ile yaratıcılık arasındaki ilişkide, rol çatışmasının düzenleyici
rolünün bulunmadığı, rol belirsizliğinin ise bu ilişkide düzenleyici rolünün bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Rol belirsizliği düşük ve orta düzeydeyken süreç ve etkileşim adaletinin yaratıcılık ile ilişkisindeki etkisi artmakta, rol belirsizliği yüksekken bu etki azalmaktadır. Rol belirsizliği düşükken dağıtım adaletinin yaratıcılıkla ilişkisinde, anlamlı bir artış, rol belirsizliği yüksekken anlamlı bir düşüş tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarının örgütsel adalet ile yaratıcılık ilişkisinde, rol çatışması ve rol belirsizliğinin düzenleyici etkisinin anlaşılması bakımından literatüre katkı sağlayabileceği değerlendirilmektedir.In this research, while examining the relationship between organizational
justice and creativity, the moderating role of role conflict and role ambiguity was investigated. In the first stage of the study the relations between the variables were examined by literature review and research hypotheses were formed. In the second stage, a research was conducted on 396 bank employees selected by using convenience sampling method. In the third and final stage, while the relations between the variables were examined with correlation analysis, research hypotheses were tested with regulatory regression analysis. According to the results of the research, it was seen that the dimensions of organizational justice have positive and significant
effects on creativity. However, in the relationship between the dimensions of
organizational justice and creativity, it has been determined that role conflict does not have a moderator role, while role ambiguity has a moderator role in this relationship. The effect of procedural and interactional justice on the relationship of creativity increases when role ambiguity is low and medium, and this effect decreases when role ambiguity is high. A significant increase was found in the relationship between distributive justice and creativity when role ambiguity was low, and a significant decrease was found when role ambiguity was high. It is thought that the results of the research will contribute to the literature in terms of understanding the moderating effect of role conflict and role ambiguity in the relationship between organizational justice and creativity.No sponso
Improving the performance of cell-edge users in 6G and beyond networks by utilizing a novel precoding-based hybrid CoMP transmission design
The rapid growth of mobile traffic is driving the development of cellular communication technologies to massively improve the high-end communication experiences such as high throughput, high reliability, and universal access. To accomplish these demands in a cellular environment is a huge challenge and it is more critical at the cell edges infected with interference. Moreover, if the users have poor channel conditions, they experience even more severe degradation due to inter-cell interference that creates a bottleneck in wireless systems. Besides, neither time/frequency division multiplexing nor power control has achieved the full promise of spectral efficiency. Due to differences in transmission power and channel gains in heterogeneous networks, interference cancellation-based transmission techniques have great opportunities to increase throughput. Therefore, to meet the quality of service (QoS) requirements, user equipment devices (UEs) must be assigned a significant amount of power. To address these requirements and challenges, we propose a novel hybrid coordinated multi-point (H-CoMP) design for cell-edge users to combat inter-cell interference (ICI), inter-user interference (IUI), and improve spectral efficiency. Specifically, channel-based precoders are designed to deal with ICI, remove channel effects and provide reliable communication to cell-edge users. Mathematical models and simulations highlight the inventiveness and efficiency of the proposed H-CoMP paradigm. The acquired results show the performance of the proposed solution and the ability to reduce system complexity leading to enhanced overall system performance.No sponso
Effect of in-office bleaching on the surface roughness of different composite resins
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of a high concentration hydrogen peroxide bleaching agent on the surface roughness of four different composite resins. Material and Methods: For this purpose, with the help of teflon molds, a total of 24 composite samples (10 x 2 mm) were prepared, with n = 6 for each composite group. The samples were placed in teflon molds in two layers of 2mm and covered by transparent mylar strips at the top and bottom surfaces. The material was compressed with finger pressure between 1mm thick glass plates. The tip of the light device was applied directly from the transparent tape surface for the polymerization of the samples. Polymerization of the samples was carried out using LED light device in each layer. After the samples were polished with finishing discs, they were kept at 37 ° C for 24 hours in the distilled water. Surface roughness values (Ra) of all samples were measured with a profilometer device. After the first measurements, a whitening agent containing 35% hydrogen peroxide was applied to the surfaces, and surface roughness measurements were repeated after this process. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey tests. Results: Profilometric evaluations showed a small increase in the surface roughness of all samples with a bleaching agent. When the initial and treated measurements of the groups were compared, the difference between the measurements was found statistically insignificant. (P> 0.05) Conclusion: The office bleaching agent containing 35% hydrogen peroxide did not make any difference in the roughness of the nanohybrid and microhybrid composite resins.No sponso
Investigation of the boundary conditions of the connected breakwaters on the longshore transport
Özellikle oyulmaya müsait kıyılarda kıyı çizgisinin zamanla değişimi tabii bir olaydır. Dalgaların kıyıya yaklaşması ve deniz tabanı ile etkileşime girmesiyle karakteristikleri bozulmakta olup kıyıya dik ve kıyıya paralel akıntılar oluşturmaktadır. Kıyıda meydana gelen özellikle kıyı boyu akıntıları kıyı çizgisinin değişimine neden olmaktadır. Analitik olarak kıyı çizgisi değişiminin belirlenmesi için sınır şartlarına gerek duyulur. Dolayısı ile kıyı çizgisinin değişimini anlamak için, kıyı boyu katı madde taşınımı ile ilgili bilgilerin elde edilmesi ve problemin çözümünde mendirek gibi kıyı yapılarının kıyıda etki ettiği mesafenin bilinmesini gerektirir. Bu çalışmada, önceki çalışmalarda kullanılan mendirek gibi kıyı yapılarının kıyı çizgisi üzerinde yaptığı etkilerin matematiksel modellemesinde kullanılan sınır şartları araştırılmıştır. Öncelikle yaygın olarak kullanılan sınır şartları temel alınarak kıyı çizgisi belirlenmiş ve gözlemler sonucu elde edilen kıyı çizgisi ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre mendirek gibi kıyı yapılarının kıyı çizgisine etkisinin literatürde verildiği gibi ve önceki çalışmada kullanıldığı gibi en fazla 1000 metre civarında olduğu görülmüştür. Analitik olarak kıyı çizgisinin değişimini inceleme çalışmalarında bu sınır şartlarının kullanımının uygun olduğu kararına varılmıştır.The changing of a coastline over time is a natural phenomenon, especially on the coasts that are prone to erosion. As the waves approach the shore and interact with the sea floor, their characteristics deteriorate, and they form currents which are perpendicular or longshore. In particular, longshore currents occurring on the coast cause the change of the coastline. The change of the coastline, on the other hand, disrupts the stability of structures such as residences, roads, and railways on the coasts, causing both material and moral damages. Boundary conditions are needed to analytically determine the shoreline change. Therefore, to understand the change of the coastline, obtaining information about the solid material which gets transported longshore and knowing the distance that the coastal structures such as a breakwater on the coast are essential in solving this problem. In this study, the boundary conditions used in the mathematical modelling of the effects of coastal structures such as the connected breakwaters used in previous studies were investigated. First, the shoreline was determined by using the commonly utilised boundary conditions and compared with the shoreline obtained as the result of the observations. According to the findings, it was seen that the effect of coastal structures such as connected breakwaters on the shoreline is around 1000 meters at most, as given in the literature and seen in previous studies. It has been decided that the use of these boundary conditions is appropriate in the studies to analyse the change of shorelines analytically.No sponso
