Truly Mechanism Based Develop Creep Damage Constitutive Equations for Wide Range of Stress
This paper represents the development of novel creep damage constitutive equations applicable across a wide stress range. This framework integrates: (i) a modified hyperbolic sine law, ε ̇_min=A*sinh(B〖*σ〗^q ), tailored to capture minimum creep strain rates under varying stress; (ii) a time-temperature-stress dependent cavitation damage function, w(t,T,σ)=U'(T,σ)*t^m, tailored to capture minimum creep strain rates under varying stress; and (iii) a power law function, 1/(1-w)^P , representing creep cavitation influence on creep deformation. The modified hyperbolic sine law was designed to capture minimum creep strain rate over a wide range of stress; the cavitation damage model, w(t,T,σ), is calibrated directly from cavity for a given stress and temperature, w(t,T)=U'(T)*t^m, then mapped over stresses as w(t,T,σ)=U^' (σ,T)*t^m. Together, these three components reflect an early observable-driven and transformation-aware modeling. P91 steel was selected for its practical relevance and its well-characterized cavitation behavior, enabling mechanism-resolved calibration. Preliminary validation demonstrates strong alignment with experimental deformation profiles and rupture lifetimes. Full datasets and comparative model assessments, including residual analysis and stress-regime sensitivity, will be reported in forthcoming work.<br/
Directions for future research on police stress:the role of hyper-vigilance and emotion regulation in understanding and preventing detrimental outcomes for mental health
PurposePolicing is a stressful occupation which increases the risk of experiencing poor mental health outcomes. The purpose of this study is to highlight the primary areas of focus in research to date, and propose future directions which could significantly enhance our understanding of how to protect the well-being of police officers and staff.Design/methodology/approachIn this narrative review, the authors draw on research from cognitive psychology to illustrate some of the possible mechanisms by which police stressors impact mental health. The authors also examine the potential role of emotion regulation in mitigating those harmful effects.FindingsAn attentional bias for threatening/aversive stimuli represents an adaptive strategy that is conducive to avoiding harm. However, exposure to chronic or acute stress, as well as dispositional factors (e.g. trait anxiety), has the potential to disrupt the delicate balance that exists in the threat-monitoring system, leading to hyper-vigilance and increased vulnerability to mental health conditions such as PTSD. Conversely, certain emotion regulation strategies appear to modulate the allocation of attentional resources to threatening/aversive stimuli, reducing the extent to which they are subject to elaborative processing and enhancing subjective well-being.Practical implicationsThe authors illustrate how the application of cognitive-experimental methods could directly inform the development of strategies and interventions aimed promoting positive outcomes for mental health.Originality/valueCognitive-experimental methods remain under-used in research on police stress and well-being. By drawing on research conducted with other populations, the authors provide novel suggestions for the application of these techniques to policing contexts.<br/
Moral Development:The Conceptualisation of Servant Leadership Moral Compass
There is an increase in the study of servant leadership due to its moral and service dimensions. However, research on the moral dimension is inadequate. Hence, the study explored the moral dimension of servant leadership, emphasising the need for moral development practices in business organisations. The study is underpinned by the ethics of justice theory and three normative ethical theories. To conceptualise the leadership-focused moral model, or servant leadership moral compass (SLMC), elements from servant leadership measurement scales and moral philosophical theories were reviewed and synthesised. The core result shows that servant leaders must be virtuous and make justifiable decisions that yield ethical outcomes. SLMC aims to enable practitioners to discuss ethical behaviours and promote moral development
Unified Digital Twin Approach for Energy Grid Condition and Cybersecurity Monitoring
As renewable energy technologies continue to advance, there are two primary threats to renewable energy assets: physical system failures and cybersecurity threats. Although the monitoring of physical system failures through condition monitoring is well-established, cyberattacks continue to evolve and create new avenues for physical system failures. As the objective of an attacker is to have an impact on the physical performance of operational technologies, improving cybersecurity is closely coupled with monitoring the physical condition of devices and should not be handled in isolation. This paper presents the development of a digital twin system for monitoring and managing renewable energy infrastructure. The proposed system integrates condition monitoring and cybersecurity, providing a comprehensive framework to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of renewable energy resources. By allowing analysts to detect and respond to both physical faults and cyberattacks in a timely manner, the system improves the resilience of renewable energy assets. A case study demonstrates the effectiveness of the system in raising alerts for both condition and cybersecurity monitoring, highlighting its potential for broader application across various operational technologies

‘Parental responsibilities and rights’ was the umbrella term introduced by the Children’s Act 38 of 2005 to describe the ‘basket’ of competencies and obligations which now define the relationship between parents and children. Section 18 sets out the meaning of parental responsibilities and rights in a non-exhaustive manner, so as to include care for the child, the responsibility and right to maintain contact with the child, to act as a guardian for the child, and to contribute to the maintenance of the child. The acquisition of parental rights and responsibilities may indicate legal parentage – biological mothers automatically acquire full parental responsibilities and responsibilities, as do married biological fathers – but this is not necessarily the case. Some unmarried fathers acquire automatic parental responsibilities and rights, if they meet the criteria set out in section 21(1) of the Act. If an unmarried father does not meet the criteria, then he may still be a holder of parental responsibilities and rights by agreement, or by order of a court. Similarly, persons other than biological parents may be holders of parental responsibilities and rights, such as grandparents,8 non-biological same sex partners, or indeed any persons having an interest in the care and wellbeing of the child, according to the evaluation of the court
A bifactorial approach to the Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised scale
The Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised (ECR-R) scale has been argued to be the most robust measure of adult attachment to date. However, while previous authors propose that the ECR-R contains a 2-factor model of attachment with the factors representing anxious and avoidant attachment, none have considered a bifactor model of attachment (i.e., an overarching factor of attachment security, together with additional latent variables representing anxious and avoidant attachment) and several have applied, arguably unnecessary, data parcelling. In the current study, 911 participants completed the ECR-R and measures of several associated variables to assess differential predictive validity. Confirmatory factor analysis suggested that the bifactor model was found to be the best fit to the data. These findings have important implications for evaluating previous research which has used the ECR-R. The practical implications of these are discussed
Characterising the Time Course of the Dilatory Response of Healthy Retinal Arteries during Flicker-Light Provocation
Introduction: The dilatory response of healthy retinal arterioles to flicker-light (FL) provocation appears to be biphasic. The vessel diameter rapidly increases (acute phase) over 5 10 s, then barely increases thereafter (maintenance phase) until FL cessation. This reaction is usually characterised at a single point by two parameters: maximum dilation (MD) relative to baseline diameter (MD, %) and time to MD (RT, s). This paper describes the biphasic reaction of retinal arteries during FL provocation using a bi-linear function. Methods: Retinal arterioles from 45 adults were examined during flicker provocation. Each individual time course of arterial diameter change during FL provocation was characterised by a bi-linear equation and compared with MD and RT. Results: Slopes of the acute phase were 0.506%/s, and the maintenance phase was nearly flat (0.012%/s). The mean time at which the reaction changed from acute to maintenance phase was 7.4 s which is significantly different from RT (16.0 s). Mean dilation at this point (2.987%) was significantly different from MD (3.734%), but it was still 80% of MD in less than half of RT. Conclusion: Bi-linear fitting parameters better characterises the arterial dilatory response than MD and RT. Further stratification of clinical groups using bi-linear fitting may provide insight of the underlying physiology of vessel dilation for different pathologies.</p

Hot-melt extruded-FDM 3D-printed polyethylene oxide tablets:Dissolution imaging analysis of swelling and drug release
Recent developments in pharmacogenetics have emphasised the importance of customised medication, driving interest in technologies like FDM 3D-printing for tailored drug delivery. FDM 3D-printing is a promising technique for the on-demand manufacturing of customised oral dosage forms, providing flexibility in terms of shape and size, dose and drug release profiles. This study investigates the fabrication and characterisation of 3D-printed oral dosage forms using PEO as the primary polymer and PEG 6 K as a plasticiser. Firstly, the printability of the PEO filaments with different propranolol hydrochloride concentrations was explored using the hot-melt extrusion technology. The influence of the propranolol hydrochloride concentrations on the mechanical properties of the filaments was examined was then examined after which surface characteristics, including roughness and wettability, were evaluated. Dissolution imaging was used to visualise the effects of drug content on the swelling and dissolution characteristics of the PEO-based 3D-printed tablets. Results showed a reduction in the flexural stress of the filaments with increasing drug load. It was also observed that increasing the drug load led to higher surface roughness and lower contact angles of the 3D-printed PEO tablets, implying increased surface hydrophilicity. The swelling behaviour of the tablets increased with higher drug concentrations, resulting in a larger gel layer formation. When comparing the drug release percentages, the release rate was higher in the 10 mg propranolol tablets, suggesting that a lower drug content led to a faster release. The greater gel layer of the 40 mg PPN tablets hindered the drug release by acting as a diffusion barrier, while the 10 mg PPN tablets, with less swelling and gel formation, experienced a faster drug release. These findings show the importance of drug content in modifying the surface properties, swelling behaviour, and drug release profiles of 3D-printed PEO tablets. The study also demonstrates the novel use of dissolution imaging for 3D-printed dosage forms, providing valuable quantitative and qualitative insights into swelling dynamics and channel formation to optimise 3D-printed tablets for drug delivery systems.</p
