Kriza uloge porodice i obrazovanja i nasilno ponašanje dece

    Get PDF

This article is exploring the relationship between political narrative and reinterpretation of history in self-constitution process of an antagonistic style of leadership performed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the aim to legitimize military invasion of Ukraine. Excerpts from Putin`s public speech are interpreted by using Michel Foucault`s insights on ancient practices of fearless truth-telling, parrhesia, with the aim to deconstruct legitimization matrix of Putin`s political articulation and reasoning of war affairs. Analysis shows how political leader is presenting his own revisionist reinterpretation of historical past and current events in order to influence and change public “culture of memories”

Trideset godina rada Odbora za proučavanje nacionalnih manjina i ljudska prava

    No full text

Euthanasia and organ donation still firmly connected: reply to Bollen et al

    Get PDF
Bollen et al, replying to my own article, describe, in great detail, administrative and logistical aspects of euthanasia approval and organ donation in the Netherlands. They seem to believe that no useful lessons can be drawn from experiences of related groups such as euthanasia patients (typically patients with cancer) who cannot donate organs; patients who chose assisted suicide as opposed to euthanasia; patients in intensive care units and their relatives and suicidal young people as if we can only learn about organ donation in euthanasia patients by studying this exact group and no other, no matter how closely related and obviously relevant. However, it is not only permissible but also absolutely essential to gather evidence that goes beyond immediate point of interest and carefully study groups that share important features with it. Also, groups eligible for euthanasia are constantly expanding, theoretically, legally and practically, and it would be irresponsible to not foresee what are likely future developments. Finally, myopic focus on the technicalities of the procedure misses psychological reality that drives decisions and behaviours and which rarely mimics administrative timelines. Patients proceeding through euthanasia pipeline already face substantial situational pressure and adding organ donation on top of it can make the whole process work as a commitment device. By allowing euthanasia patients to donate their organs, we are giving them additional reason to end their lives, thus creating an unbreakable connection between the two

Religious Beliefs, Social Values and Business Culture

The last decades of the 20th century and the first of the 21st century have been full of crises. Since the oil crisis in the 1980s, crises have become more frequent globally. Some of them included the Asian crisis, world economic crisis 2007-8, crises caused by various types of infectious diseases, then the COVID 19 pandemic, and finally the gas crisis and inflation crisis, which we are currently experiencing. Also, the crisis of the relations between the USA and China which is on the rise, and that of the relations between the USA and Russia which is returning to the geopolitical scene, have intensifed and represent a great challenge or the countries and their international relations. Also, all these affects the peace in certain regions, the existence of people, as well as their social and economic status. Historically, religion has played a major role in shaping states and their societies. Also, religion influenced the development of many social values, and was translated into labor relations and business culture. There are countries where religious values are woven into business culture and work ethics. These are, for example, Japan, whose business culture originated under the influence of women, and Germany, whose business culture has been based on Protestant ethics. These are connected by discipline, dedication to work, precision and accuracy, and the fact that these countries do not allow religious beliefs to be relativized, or reduced to populist phrases, so as not to lose the essence and significance for human existence

    No full text
The aim of this study is to test the moderating effect that fear of adverse effects has in the relationship between three predictors of Reasoned Action Approach and youths’ intention to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The online-based research was conducted in July 2022 on a sample consisting of 311 (70.7% female) participants with an age range from 15 to 25 (M = 21.19, SD = 2.545). Referring to the predictors: attitudes toward vaccination were measured on a five-items scale (α = .963), subjective norms on a four-item scale (α = .879), and perceived behavioral control on a two-item scale (α = .877), while intention to be vaccinated against COVID-19 was measured on a three-item scale (α = .992). All of the items had values from 1 to 7. Fear of adverse effects was measured on a single-item scale had values from 1 to 10. Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that the model was statistically significant in the second block, when interaction of fear of adverse effects and attitudes (R2 = .875, F(3, 307) = 333.997, p < .01); subjective norms (R2 = .784, F(3, 307) = 163.286, p < .01); and perceived behevioral control were introduced (R2 = .631, F(3, 307) = 67.637, p < .01). Interaction was registered only in terms of attitudes and fear of adverse effects (β = -.060, p < .05) and subjective norms and fear of adverse effects (β = -.081, p < .05). Youth with positive attitudes towards vaccination have significantly higher intention to get vaccinated if they fear adverse effects less than youths who fear them more. Also, youth with low fear of adverse effects have higher intention in conditions of both lower and higher social pressure, than youth with higher fear

Ekoloska pravda za manjinske zajednice - uporedna perspektiva

    No full text
