Innovative and Effective Development Finance Institutions for Sustainable Development.
With effective and strong policy guidance and sufficient resources, development finance institutions have the capacity to effectively and innovatively foster sustainable development. Development finance institutions have several objectives related to investing in private sector sustainable development projects, maximizing development impact, achieving long-term financial sustainability and mobilizing private finance. Private investments are crucial for sustainable development and development finance institutions are becoming increasingly important actors in the development finance landscape. The paper analyzes the concept of development finance institutions, reasons that influenced governments to establish them, as well as their involvement in the political scene. The subject of research is their role in private finance mobilization and financing development, eliminating the undercapitalization of small and medium enterprises, creating new job opportunities, increasing employment, as well as mitigating negative consequences of the crisis
Institutional setting development in SEE countries in the condition of european integration
This paper deals with the institutional development achievements and obstacles to democratic transition in the SEE countries. By applying comparative analysis and calculating global governance indicators for period 2005 – 2013 and 2014 – 2021, we show how the EU enlargement policy development have influenced institutional changes in these countries, in particular in SEE non-EU countries. The EU accession conditionality has had strong impact on the quality of their political and institutional governance. The concluding remarks reveal that Western Balkan countries are still far from getting EU membership due to their inability to comply with accession criteria, as well as main EU Member States’ resistance to EU enlargement policy. They are still burden with the inefficiencies stemming from poor neighborly relations, weak institutional settings, high rate of corruption, absence of the rule of law etc. In order to achieve progress on their path towards EU accession, these countries should take decisive steps to strengthen democracy and the rule of law by preventing corruption
Economic dynamics in border municipalities of AP Vojvodina: perspective of regional development (2011-2022).
This research paper explores the economic dynamics of border municipalities in Vojvodina within the context of Serbia through an analysis of the labour market, with a specific emphasis on regional development. Border municipalities, as specific geographical entities, face challenges arising from their proximity to the country's borders, which further impact the economic characteristics of these areas. Through comprehensive research, employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods of data analysis, the study examines the influence of various factors on employment, unemployment, and overall economic activity in Serbian border municipalities from 2011 to 2022. By focusing on the labour market, a deeper understanding of the specific economic structure of these municipalities is gained, taking into account local and regional characteristics. The study investigates factors affecting employment, such as the educational structure of the population, the availability of education and training, as well as investment attraction. The dynamics of unemployment are also analysed, considering its relationship with seasonal variations and structural changes in the labour market. Additionally, the paper explores the connections between the labour market and broader regional development, examining how economic activity in border municipalities contributes to or restricts overall regional development in Serbia. In this context, the focus will be on border municipalities with Croatia, including Sombor, Apatin, Odžaci, Bač, Bačka Palanka in Bačka, and one municipality in Srem, Šid. Identification of key challenges and opportunities for improving the labor market in these municipalities can provide a foundation for the development of policies aimed at enhancing regional economic stability, especially considering the sensitive position of border municipalities in Serbia
Is de-dollarization inevitable?
Relying on relevant studies of internationally recognized economists,
using content analysis, synthesis, and comparison methods, we
monitor the process of de-dollarization, i.e. phenomenon of
establishing a new balance of power in the global financial order. The
main intention of the work is to project future directions of
international monetary policy by pointing out the institutional and other
barriers to the internationalization of the main contender for the status
of global currency — the Chinese renminbi. The aim of the work is to
provide guidelines to the creators of domestic economic policy in the
context of the increased importance of non-Western currencies, and
consequently, the need to rebalance the foreign exchange reserves and
create the necessary infrastructure for the increased use of the Chinese
currency on the domestic foreign exchange market. We conclude that
despite a certain weakening of the global importance of the US
currency — especially from the beginning of 2022 — the process of dedollarization
is in its initial phase, and that could last for decades.
Namely, in order to form a multilateral currency system, taking into
account the current hegemonic status of the dollar, a substantial
increase in the use of other currencies is necessary. This applies to
world trade crediting, where the greatest, but still limited, progress of
the yuan is seen, but also to the other domains such as the allocation
of central bank’s foreign exchange reserves, the securities’
denomination, and the invoicing of financial transactions in bilateral
trade and other arrangements
Approaching Quiet quitting from the Labor law Perspective: A case study of Hungarian and Serbian legislation
: The paper explores the quiet quitting phenomenon, its origin, and evolution, by applying theoretical, legal normative, and comparative methods. It particularly examines how quiet quitting can be understood through the lens of labor law,
by analyzing the provisions of Hungarian and Serbian labor legislation dealing with
worker’s rights and duties. Quiet quitting has been considered workers’ psychological
response to hustle culture and always-on expectations. It is a specific self-protection mechanism in a digitalized world of work, wherein the worker fulfills only the
minimum work duties, without going above and beyond the employment contract.
Therefore, it is hard to argue for the employment contract breach whereas approaching from an organizational management perspective is much more adequate, while
also applying the decent work approach
Enabling Inclusive and Meaningful Tourist Experiences
The advent of Industry 4.0 technologies, encompassing the Internet of Things (IoT), Big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, location-based services, and virtual and augmented (VR/AR) reality systems, has revolu-tionized the tourism landscape, automating production and service delivery. As the momentum of Industry 4.0 propels us toward the tourism-specific concept of Tourism 4.0, questions arise about the ability of humans to keep pace with the rapid techno-logical advancements and ensure these innovations genuinely benefit society. The ongoing debate prompts a call for humanizing Industry 4.0, echoed in the emerging concept of Industry 5.0, advocating for more responsible and humane technology approaches. Concurrently, voices championing Tourism 5.0 emphasize the need to align technology with diverse human tourism needs and enhance accessibility for a more inclusive and meaningful travel experience. Through this chapter, we endeavor to establish Tourist 5.0 as a holistic alternative to the prevailing concept of digital accessibility practices within the typically limited and task-focused tourism sector. This chapter critically examines the evolution from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, drawing parallels with Tourism 4.0 and Tourism 5.0. The central focus of this chapter is placed on the imperative of technological accessibility, exploring how it takes
precedence in the latest technological developments and contributes to the creation of more inclusive and fulfilling tourism experience
Integrating advanced technologies for enhanced demographic research and urban planning
Combining advanced remote sensing
technologies with traditional demographic
methods offers transformative
potential for urban planning and public
health. By enabling high-resolution mapping
and dynamic monitoring of demographic
changes, these technologies
provide policymakers with robust tools
for making informed decisions. However,
challenges such as data integration,
resolution limitations, and the need for
specialised skills must be addressed
to fully leverage these technologies in
demographic research. Future efforts
should focus on developing interdisciplinary
approaches and enhancing
data integration frameworks to support
sustainable urban development and effective
resource management.
This review not only highlights the
capabilities of modern remote sensing
in demographic research, but also underscores
the necessity for continued
innovation and integration of technological
advancements in urban planning
processes

Međupopisne procene u Srbiji 2011-2022. Da li su neophodne?
: Popisi u Srbiji često imaju nova metodološka rešenja, usled kojih je sve teže pratiti
promene u kretanju stanovništva. Razumevanje metodoloških inovacija u popisima i
usklađenost podataka popisne i vitalne statistike su preduslovi za svaku naučnu analizu
i interpretaciju populacione dinamike.
