Get PDFThe goal of this study was to learn more about the perception of love in “That I Did always Love†by Emily Dickinson and “Love after Love: by Derek Walcott. The research method used is the descriptive-qualitative method. Abrams theory becomes the main key in this research. The results of this research showed that the perception of Emily Dickinson about love in her poem “That I did always Love†that Life is nothing without love. She forces to have love and it must happen into her life. Because she desires to be loved, wanted, needed, missed, and prioritized by the man she wants. Where in real life she has never felt what love is. Therefore she seems so desperate to feel and get love. In contrast to Derek Walcott's perception of love in his poem “Love after Loveâ€, he considers that there is no need to rush into looking for love; he wants all his readers to focus more on improving themselves and loving themselves and allowing true love to find them
Reconstruction of Regulations in Legal Protection for Customers in the Event of Banking Liquidity Based on Justice
Get PDFIn this research article, we will attempt to present discussions related to the analysis of bank liquidity regulations based on applicable laws and regulations, analyze to understand the legal protection of depositors/customers when a bank liquidation occurs, and analyze the reconstruction of legal protection for customers in bank liquidation based on the principle of justice. The research method employed in this study is a sociological or non-doctrinal approach, where the primary focus is on collecting primary data. To obtain the necessary data for this research, the author utilized a juridical-empirical legal research method. In empirical research, the emphasis is on the application of law in the real field (law in concreto). The research was conducted by initially examining secondary data, followed by primary data research conducted in the field or within the community. The results of the research indicate that customer protection related to bank liquidation has been anticipated by the banks themselves through implicit and explicit protections, both of which have been explained and regulated in banking law. Bank Indonesia has the authority to provide guidance and supervision to ensure the continuity of bank operations, and Bank Indonesia also determines provisions related to the health of banks by considering aspects such as investors, asset quality, management, liquidity, for example, regarding customer protection and the provision of credit to customers, which is guided and supervised, affecting the health and smooth operation of banks. Therefore, there is a need for a restructuring of legal customer protection regulations in bank liquidation based on the principle of justice. Every bank is obligated to guarantee the funds of the public deposited with the respective bank. The government needs to organize Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking, particularly the protection of bank customers in the case of liquidation, to be emphasized in banking management
THE MAIN CHARACTER’S IDENTITY IN HIROMI’S HAND BY LYNNE BARASCH
Get PDFABSTRACT The research entitled " The Main Character`s Identity in Hiromi's Hand by Lynne Barasch." The main reason the writer chose this topic is that the main character of picture books has serious identity problems. In particular, Hiromi wants to know more about her own identity as a descendant of Japanese-American immigrants. What makes Hiromi unique is that she was born and raised when her parents immigrated to the United States of America, so despite being of immigrant descent, she has been automatically in the American environment since childhood. Hiromi's first problems involved the process by which immigrant children making the transition, making the connection, and becoming American. The writer uses the identity theory of (FU, Lamme, & Lowery, 2004); (Serpe & Stets, 2016), starting that the second problems are internal issues such as thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and external issues are social problems. The objectives of the study to examine this problem is to describe the process of identity that Hiromi experienced so that she become American and to explain how Hiromi solved the identity problem. The method use in this research is descriptive qualitative and uses a mimetic approach. The source of the data is Hiromi's picture book, and the data use the text and pictures in the picture book. As a result, it is revealed that Hiromi has a dual identity as a Japanese American girl. Get PDFThe influence of the development of technology and information in Indonesia has become a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it provides welfare and benefits to the people who use it; on the other hand, at the same time, it also creates crime. Crime in the field of technology that often occurs is cyberbullying, a term used based on bullying behaviour in cyberspace. The research aims to analyse legal protection for cyberbullying victims by netizens towards Instagram influencers. This research was conducted using the normative-empirical method, namely the implementation of normative legal provisions and legal events in society. The study results show that, first, legal protection for victims of cyberbullying has been included in statutory regulations. Second, legal protection can be obtained through institutions, and there are prevention efforts as a form of victim protection. Therefore, conceptually, legal protection for victims can be done through various means, such as by implementing laws and institution

Tanggungjawab pejabat pengawas lingkungan hidup dalam menjalankan tugasnya dengan melakukan pemantauan kegiata usaha yang dilakukan oleh penanggungjawab kegitan usaha baik yang berpotensi menimbulkan terjadinya pencemaran maupun kerusakan lingkungan hidup atau tidak. Pejabat pengawas lingkungan hidup juga melakukan pengawasan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung terhadap tingkat ketaatan penanggungjawab kegiatan usaha dalam menjalankan izin yang telah diberikan kepadanya. THE USE OF YOUTOBE MEDIA IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY THROUGH ONLINE LEARNING
Get PDFThe Use of YouTube Media in Improving Students' Vocabulary through Online Learning is the title of this article. One of the programs that can help students learn vocabulary and understand English online is YouTube. Based on these factors, this journal will analyze how students' success in mastering English vocabulary is affected by YouTube media.Ten students from grade 10 at MAN 1 Cirebon provided the data for this study, which is based on the results of the exams they took. After watching English-related YouTube videos, the students took an exam to determine their progress in learning new vocabulary in the language. Both quantitative and qualitative methodologies were used to analyze the data in this study.The research findings show that if YouTube is used consistently and effectively, it can improve word comprehension. Students can learn new English expressions and recognize new terminology by using YouTube programs repeatedly. In addition, YouTube applications can help students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and other skills in English.Students at MAN 1 Cirebon can better understand English and learn new vocabulary by using the YouTube application. This is evident from the observation results which show how students' language skills improved after watching English videos on the YouTube application in their spare time
The Effectiveness of Bright-English for Beginners application in improving students' vocabulary
Get PDFLack of vocabulary is the main problem for Indonesian students who learn English. One of the things that makes learning English difficult is the lack of vocabulary. In order that, the technology development in this current era can be used as a way to improve students’ vocabulary. There are many software or applications on phones and laptops that provide learning English. The purpose of this research is to analyze whether the “Bright-English for Beginners†application be able to increase students’ vocabulary or not. This type of research was included in the type of quantitative research with a group without treatment (control group) and a group with treatment (experimental group) which carry out a pre-test and post-test. Before giving the treatment, both groups were given a pre-test. After giving the treatment, which is an experimental group are taught by “Bright-English for Beginners†application and control group without it, the researcher gave a post-test. The results of this include 1) There is a relevant improvement for the group with treatment (experimental group) from the pre-test (before treatment) and post-test (after treatment), 2) There is a significant difference between students’ vocabulary utilizing “Bright-English for Beginners†application and without using it, 3) Vocabulary learning using the “Bright-English for Beginners†application has been proven to be more effective than using the usual method
Analysis of external support and organizational capacity on electronic commerce adoption impact on small medium business performance
Get PDFThis study aims to develop the concept of external support, compatibility and organizational capabilities in increasing the adoption of Electronic Commerce and its impact on the performance of small and medium enterprises. The sample of this research was 123 respondents consisting of small and medium culinary business owners in the city of Semarang, Indonesia. The analysis technique uses Structural Equation Modeling - Amos program version 21. The results show that adoption of electronic commerce is significantly positively influenced by external support, by compatibility, by organizational capability, and by organizational capability, in addition to being significantly positively influenced by adoption of electronic commerce and the performance of small and medium-sized businesses. Get PDFThe background of this research is that in the city of Semarang, the discussion on the issue of Termination of Employment (PHK) is a complex problem, because it has a relationship with economic and psychological problems for workers affected by layoffs. Economic problems because layoffs will cause a loss of income that should have been received by the workforce before the layoff occurred, of course this will become a new problem for the workforce. Writing this thesis discusses legal protection for workers/laborers affected by layoffs caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, as well as an understanding of the rules regarding the rights of affected workers (PHK) according to the provisions of Law no. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower. The method used is normative juridical and empirical juridical approaches, to analyze the data is qualitative analysis, namely data that is arranged systematically and analyzed qualitatively in order to achieve clarity of the problem to be discussed and the results are set forth in the form of a thesis. Legal protection for workers/laborers due to the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic, namely contained in Article 164 Paragraph (3) of Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower with legal protection in the form of giving severance pay, giving awards or service money during the worker/labourer's working period , and the granting of compensation rights for the impact of the layoffs
Asymmetric Price Transmission of Some Basic Commodities in Indonesia
Get PDFThe prices of these international goods, world oil prices, exchange rates, and government policies, always influence developments in the current global era that drive domestic commodity prices. This study aims to analyze the effect of asymmetric price transmission on several Indonesian domestic commodities. Asymmetric price transmission occurs if the speed of price adjustment above or below the price trend is not the same. Positive or negative price changes occur if the price is above or below the price trend. Under dynamic conditions, each price will adjust to the long-term price level. This study applies the error correction model (ECM) method to capture the speed of adjustment of each commodity following the long-term price level. This study involves asymmetric price transmission to see price adjustments. Econometric testing through the error correction model is used to determine how much the domestic price adjustments are when there is an increase or decrease in international prices for essential commodities. The results showed an adjustment in domestic prices when global prices increased or decreased for wheat flour, granulated sugar, soybeans, beef, and broiler meat. Based on the coefficient and significance level, there was no domestic price adjustment for rice and broiler chicken eggs. Policy implications include providing input for policymakers in determining prices so that market prices are stable and in line with people's purchasing power
