The Paradigm of Sexual Violence Against Women in Indonesia: Between Causes and Solutions

This study examines sexual harassment against women in Indonesia as a structural manifestation deeply rooted in social, cultural, and institutional inequality rather than as an isolated phenomenon. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review and socio-legal analysis, this research identifies key factors that perpetuate sexual violence, including the surplus of male power within patriarchal structures, victim blaming practices, the lack of sexual and gender awareness education, stigma surrounding reporting, and the objectification of women in the media. These interrelated factors not only reflect the symbolic domination of men over women’s bodies and spaces but also highlight the state’s and society’s failure to establish a comprehensive and just protection system. The findings reveal that addressing sexual harassment requires cross-sectoral, holistic, and sustainable interventions. Progressive legal reforms such as the implementation of the Sexual Violence Crime Law (UU TPKS) must be accompanied by comprehensive, gender-based sexual education, victim-centered law enforcement, and strengthened media ethics in reporting violence. Accordingly, the study recommends that the government enhance the implementation of UU TPKS by improving the capacity of law enforcement officers, expanding integrated protection services across regions, and incorporating comprehensive sexual education into the national curriculum. Society must actively reject the normalization of violence and eliminate stigma against victims, while civil society organizations, educational institutions, and the media should strengthen collaboration to promote awareness, victim-oriented policies, and ethical reporting practices. The synergy among these sectors is crucial to building an inclusive, just, and sustainable system to eradicate sexual harassment against women in Indonesia

A Juridical Analysis of Copyright for Artificial Intelligence-Generated Works in the Education Sector

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence in the education sector presents new legal challenges, particularly regarding copyright ownership of autonomously produced works. The 2014 Copyright Law does not yet regulate the status of AI as a creator, creating a legal vacuum. This research aims to examine copyright regulations for AI works, the possibility of AI becoming a limited legal subject, and the urgency of updating regulations regarding ownership and attribution of AI-based works in the education sector. This research uses a normative juridical method with a doctrinal approach to analyze the legal certainty and legal implications of AI-based works in the education sector. The research finds that AI-based works lack legal certainty under the Copyright Law, creating a regulatory vacuum and potential disputes. The analysis demonstrates the need to recognize Artificial Intelligence as a limited legal subject to clarify attribution, ownership, and responsibility for the works it produces. The research concludes that the Copyright Law is inadequate to address AI works, and therefore legal reform is necessary for the sake of certainty and protection of rights. New, adaptive and collaborative arrangements are needed to enable Indonesia’s legal system to accommodate AI developments and support a technology-based education ecosystem

Towards a Greener Future: Using DEMATEL-ANP for Sustainable Indonesian Fiber Cement Board Manufacturing Company

The Indonesian fiber cement board industry faces increasing pressure to enhance sustainability due to growing environmental global concerns and regulatory demands. The companies in this sector must address multiple sustainability criteria such as waste management, resource utilization, and compliance with environmental regulations to remain competitive and sustainable. However, identifying which criteria are the most influential in driving overall sustainability outcomes presents a challenge. Previous studies have often examined these criteria in isolation, without considering their interdependencies. To address this gap, this study integrates the Delphi method with DEMATEL and ANP to analyze and prioritize key sustainability criteria for a fiber cement board company. By developing a comprehensive framework, this research aims to provide actionable insights that will help companies enhance their sustainability performance. In this research, PT. XYZ, a well-known fiber cement board manufacturer in Central Java, Indonesia, was used as a case study. The result shows that the DEMATEL-ANP method reveals that waste management, compliance with environmental regulations, and resource and material management are the most critical criteria, with high prominence and influence scores. These findings suggest that focusing on these critical areas first, followed by processing other criteria accordingly, can significantly enhance the company’s sustainability performance

ERADICATION OF ILLEGAL FISHING IN INDONESIAN WATERS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW

Illegal fishing, or unlawful and unregulated fishing activities, has become a major issue faced by Indonesia as a maritime nation due to its geographical location between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. This activity has negative impacts on the economy, the sustainability of fishery resources, and Indonesia’s marine environment. Numerous arrests of unauthorized foreign vessels that deliberately intrude into Indonesian waters to exploit marine resources highlight the severity of the problem. As Indonesia holds a highly strategic position, it is increasingly vulnerable to various forms of illegal fishing crimes.  This study employs a normative juridical method with a legislative and documentary approach. The data sources include primary data in the form of international legal provisions related to illegal fishing, as well as secondary data obtained from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The findings indicate that the eradication of illegal fishing in Indonesian waters, from the perspective of international law, is strictly regulated, particularly under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which governs state rights within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and territorial waters. Indonesia actively participates in various treaties and conventions to combat illegal fishing and collaborates with other nations in these efforts.  Indonesia has encountered fluctuating challenges in its efforts to combat illegal fishing. The relevant authorities enforce strict measures by cooperating with law enforcement agencies and local communities, while the government continuously monitors its waters both independently and in collaboration with other countries. Additionally, the presence of numerous unauthorized activities in Indonesian waters necessitates the involvement of all stakeholders to safeguard the country’s marine and fishery resources from various maritime crimes, particularly illegal fishing

TANGGUNG JAWAB HUKUM PLATFORM DIGITAL ATAS PENYALAHGUNAAN AI DALAM TRANSAKSI ELEKTRONIK

The implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in electronic transactions has significantly enhanced efficiency and user convenience. However, the misuse of AI by digital platforms and third parties has introduced complex legal challenges, particularly concerning the legal responsibility of digital platforms in protecting consumers from fraud and exploitation. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's regulatory framework regarding the liability of digital platforms for AI misuse in electronic transactions and compare it with regulations in other jurisdictions. Employing a normative legal approach through legislative analysis and case studies, this research reveals that Indonesia's regulatory framework still has gaps in governing algorithmic transparency and platform accountability. A comparative analysis with the regulatory frameworks of the European Union and the United States indicates that stricter regulations can effectively mitigate AI-related risks in digital transactions. Therefore, this study recommends the establishment of more adaptive policies, mandatory algorithmic transparency, and the formation of a specialized regulatory body to ensure responsible AI implementation in electronic transaction
