Optimizing SiDesa and Making Ant Sugar as a Functional Food Product with High Economic Value
Abstract
The Village Information System (SiDesa) was developed to facilitate data management, administrative services, and communication between the village government and the community. In addition, it served as a platform to promote local potential in the village area. The purpose of this community service activity was to optimize the use of SiDesa and enhance local potential through the socialization of palm sugar granule (ant sugar) production as a functional food. This activity was part of a thematic KKN (student community service) program conducted by students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare, located in Benteng Paremba Village, Lembang District, Pinrang Regency. The implementation of the program included population data collection and content entry into the SiDesa website. Local potential development was carried out by socializing the process of converting brown sugar into ant sugar, a functional food product with high economic value. The activity involved training local residents on how to produce ant sugar. The production process began by grinding the brown sugar, cooking it over medium heat until it melted, then turning off the stove while stirring the mixture until it solidified and dried, after which it was filtered and packaged. As a result of this program, the use of SiDesa was expected to become more optimal in providing complete village profile information, facilitating administrative procedures for residents, and serving as a promotional tool for local potential and tourism in Benteng Paremba Village
Digital Literacy Assistance to the Sei Lekop Fish Crackers Industry Centre as an Effort to Develop Business and Upgrade MSMEs
The high volume of captured fisheries is utilized by coastal communities as a livelihood source by processing the catch into value-added products such as fish crackers. This community service program aimed to improve the digital literacy of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors to support business development and MSME advancement. Conducted from April to November 2024 at the Sei Lekop Fish Crackers Industry Center in Bintan Regency, the program targeted seven Joint Business Groups (Kelompok Usaha Bersama/KUBE), with two participants each. However, one participant was absent, resulting in 13 total attendees. The program responded to key challenges such as continued reliance on conventional marketing and limited access to digital platforms. Products were often resold without proper branding, and customers struggled to find them online due to participants’ limited knowledge of digital marketing and time constraints in managing e-commerce. To address these issues, the program included educational sessions and hands-on mentoring in digital literacy. The implementation followed three phases: preparation, execution, and evaluation. Training covered creating social media and e-commerce accounts, as well as content creation using tools like Canva. The evaluation used pre- and post-program questionnaires to measure changes in understanding. Results showed a significant increase in digital literacy among participants, from an average of 36.93% before the program to 63.07% after. This indicates that the intervention effectively enhanced the digital capacity of MSME actors, supporting their business sustainability and competitiveness in the digital era
Analysis of Factors Affecting Physicians' Job Satisfaction
Dissatisfaction among physicians can lead to decreased productivity, thereby disrupting performance and patient care. This study aimed to identify several factors influencing physicians’ job satisfaction, namely income, job security, age, length of service, supervision, interpersonal relationships, workload, and motivation at Dr. H. Bob Bazar, SKM Regional General Hospital. This quantitative study used an analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 37 physicians from Dr. H. Bob Bazar, SKM Regional General Hospital in South Lampung. The sampling method was comprehensive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using bivariate analysis (simple linear regression) and multivariate analysis (F-test). The results showed that income (p-value = 0,002), interpersonal relationships (p-value = 0,001), supervision (p-value = 0,010), workload (p = 0,000), and motivation (p = 0,000) had a significant effect on physicians’ job satisfaction. Job security (p-value = 0,051), age (p-value = 0,667), and length of service (p-value = 0,662) did not affect job satisfaction. The primary factor influencing physicians’ job satisfaction was workload, with a coefficient b = 0,347. The findings of this study reveal that income, interpersonal relationships, supervision, workload, and motivation influence physicians’ job satisfaction, whereas job security, age, and length of service do not. This study provides informative, analytical evidence to assist hospital administration in improving factors that affect physicians’ job satisfaction
The "I'm Healthy and Free of Anemia" Video in Improving Teenagers' Anemia Awareness
Anemia remains a major nutritional problem in developing countries, including Indonesia, largely due to adolescents’ limited nutritional knowledge. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the educational video “I’m Healthy and Free of Anemia” in improving adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward anemia. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, 140 students from SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Padang and SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang were selected purposively. Data were collected through validated questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results showed significant improvements in knowledge and attitudes after the intervention (p-value<0,001), with mean knowledge scores increasing from 70,11 to 81,14 and attitude scores from 76,14 to 82,73. The video was effective due to its engaging visual and audio elements, as well as practical examples. This study highlights the value of interactive educational media in enhancing adolescents’ awareness and understanding of anemia
Sorghum Feeding on the Nutritional Status of Body Fat Percentage in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes melitus
Dietary management is essential in treating diabetes melitus, with recommendations to limit carbohydrate intake and increase fiber consumption. Modifying both the amount and type of food supports blood glucose control. Sorghum, a local cereal with a low glycemic index of 41 and high fiber content, also contains antidiabetic phenolic compounds, including phenolic acids, flavonoids, and tannins. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of sorghum as an alternative staple food on body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Mulyorejo village, Malang City. The study also assessed the relationship between the order of fruit and vegetable consumption, sleep quality, blood glucose, and blood pressure in these patients. An experimental pre-post test control group design was used with 32 subjects. Statistical analysis employed the Wilcoxon difference test at a 95% confidence level (p-value < 0,05). Sorghum intervention significantly reduced BMI (p-value = 0,021 in both groups). For body fat percentage, the p-value was 0,377 in the control group and 0,026 in the treatment group. In summary, incorporating sorghum using the T model plate approach may help reduce BMI and body fat percentage

Antihyperuricemia of A Combination of Eleutherine bulbosa and Annona muricata Extracts on Reducing Uric Acid Levels in Hyperuricemia Mice
Increased uric acid levels in the blood have the potential to cause kidney problems and the formation of urate crystals in soft tissue if not treated properly. Standard treatments involving synthetic drugs, such as allopurinol, often cause side effects, making safer alternatives a necessity. This study aimed to investigate the effect of a combination of Eleutherine bulbosa and Annona muricataextracts on uric acid levels in hyperuricemic mice. This study used a posttest-only control-group design, with 28 male Balb/c mice induced with a high-purine diet, then given single and combination treatments at doses of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kg BW at a ratio of 1:2. Analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests showed that the combination dose of 100 mg/kg body weight was most effective in reducing uric acid levels, with an average value of 2,7 mg/dL, while the single extract had no significant effect. At the cellular level, this combination works by inhibiting xantin oksidase (XO) enzyme activity, accelerating uric acid excretion through a diuretic mechanism, and reducing oxidative stress, which in turn helps protect kidney tissue from damage. Therefore, this combination has the potential to be a safe and effective natural antihyperuricemic agent
