    Performance comparison of CRUD operations in Spring Boot and ASP.NET Core frameworks

    This article analyzes the performance of CRUD operations in two popular frameworks: Spring Boot and ASP.NET Core, evaluating speed, efficiency, and resource usage. Performance tests revealed that ASP.NET Core excels in CPU-intensive tasks, making it more suitable for applications requiring high computational efficiency. In contrast, Spring Boot offers more stable memory usage and better handling of complex queries, making it ideal for resource-constrained systems. The findings indicate that the choice of technology should depend on project requirements, and the paper provides practical guidance for optimizing the development of scalable applications

    An analysis of the quality of interfaces of selected universities in Lublin

    The analysis of the quality of university websites is of great importance both for the university itself and for candidates for studies or students. A well-designed interface can contribute to the attractiveness of the university in the eyes of potential students as well as facilitate their use by current students and university employees. The article presents the results of a study of the quality of websites of four universities in Lublin: Lublin University of Technology, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, the Higher School of Economics and Innovation and the Higher School of Entrepreneurship and Administration. The study included 32 adult secondary school students, including 16 high school students and 16 technical school students. The research process included four research methods: measurement of task completion time based on a scenario, the SUS questionnaire and the use of the think-aloud protocol and focused interview. The results obtained indicate the strengths and weaknesses of the interfaces of the university websites studied

We also discuss the challenges and best practices for implementing Power BI across retail functions, highlighting its role in driving innovation and adapting to emerging market trends. The results of this study provide practical insights for retailers seeking to leverage data analytics for strategic decision-making and operational excellence

    Wydajność bloków ze sprasowanej ziemi wzmocnionych włóknami naturalnymi

    In contemporary times, governments prioritise the construction of structures that are both durable and cost-effective. Compressed earth blocks (CEB), known for their low environmental impact, excellent thermal insulation, and water resistance, have consistently met these criteria while seamlessly blending modernity with tradition. This study aims to investigate the mechanical and thermal properties of CEB stabilised with cement, compressed at 3 MPa, and reinforced with fibres derived from alfa and vine shoots. The fibres underwent chemical treatment, employing an alkali-acrylic process, to enhance their bond with the matrix, thereby bolstering the mechanical strength of the CEB. Results indicate a notable reduction in water absorption for treated alfa and vine shoot fibres, with reductions of 45% and 33%, respectively, compared to untreated fibres. Optimal compression resistance was achieved with a composition of 1.5% vine shoot fibres and 2.5% alfa fibres. Moreover, surface treatment of fibres led to a 5% and 20% increase in compressive strength for alfa and vine shoot fibres, respectively. Additionally, employing both fibre types resulted in decreased thermal conductivity and density, albeit with a slight adverse effect on thermal conductivity in CEBs containing treated fibres of both types.W dzisiejszych czasach rządy stawiają na budowę konstrukcji, które są zarówno trwałe, jak i opłacalne. Sprasowane bloki ziemne (CEB), znane z niskiego wpływu na środowisko, doskonałej izolacji termicznej i wodoodporności, konsekwentnie spełniają te kryteria, jednocześnie płynnie łącząc nowoczesność z tradycją. Niniejsze badanie ma na celu zbadanie właściwości mechanicznych i termicznych CEB stabilizowanych cementem, sprasowanych pod ciśnieniem 3 MPa i wzmocnionych włóknami pochodzącymi z pędów alfy i winorośli. Włókna poddano obróbce chemicznej, wykorzystując proces alkaliczno-akrylowy, w celu wzmocnienia ich wiązania z matrycą, zwiększając w ten sposób wytrzymałość mechaniczną CEB. Wyniki wskazują na znaczną redukcję absorpcji wody w przypadku poddanych obróbce włókien alfa i pędów winorośli, odpowiednio o 45% i 33% w porównaniu z włóknami niepoddanymi obróbce. Optymalną odporność na ściskanie osiągnięto przy składzie 1,5% włókien z pędów winorośli i 2,5% włókien alfa. Co więcej, obróbka powierzchniowa włókien doprowadziła do 5% i 20% wzrostu wytrzymałości na ściskanie odpowiednio dla włókien alfa i włókien z pędów winorośli. Dodatkowo, zastosowanie obu rodzajów włókien spowodowało zmniejszenie przewodności cieplnej i gęstości, aczkolwiek z niewielkim niekorzystnym wpływem na przewodność cieplną w CEB zawierających poddane obróbce włókna obu typów

    This article presents the stability assessment of metaheuristic PID controllers in the hierarchical control system of photovoltaic DC microgrids. Stability is a critical aspect of DC microgrid systems. PID controllers are utilized at the primary, secondary and tertiary control levels of the DC microgrid’s hierarchical control system. Tuning of multiple PID controllers using traditional methods such as Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen-Coon tuning techniques becomes challenging under dynamic conditions of photovoltaic DC microgrids. Metaheuristic optimization algorithms are used to construct self-tuning PID controllers with improved stability. Experiments are performed to assess the stability of PID controlled system. Results exhibit that metaheuristic-tuned PID controllers of photovoltaic DC microgrids achieved superior performance in comparison with the traditional methods.W artykule przedstawiono ocenę stabilności metaheurystycznych regulatorów PID w hierarchicznym systemie sterowania fotowoltaicznych mikrosieci DC. Stabilność jest krytycznym aspektem systemów mikrosieci DC. Regulatory PID są wykorzystywane na podstawowym, drugim i trzecim poziomie hierarchicznego systemu sterowania mikrosieci DC. Dostrajanie wielu regulatorów PID przy użyciu tradycyjnych metod, takich jak techniki Zieglera-Nicholsa i Cohena-Coona, staje się wyzwaniem w dynamicznych warunkach fotowoltaicznych mikrosieci DC. Metaheurystyczne algorytmy optymalizacji są wykorzystywane do konstruowania samostrojących regulatorów PID o zwiększonej stabilności. Przeprowadzono eksperymenty w celu oceny stabilności systemu sterowanego PID. Wyniki pokazują, że dostrojone metaheurystycznie regulatory PID fotowoltaicznych mikrosieci DC osiągnęły lepszą wydajność w porównaniu z tradycyjnymi metodami

    Comparison of the effectiveness of tools for testing the security of web applications

    This article presents a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of three web application security scanners: ZAP, Wapiti, and Skipfish. Automated scanning was conducted on deliberately unsecured applications, followed by an analysis of the detected vulnerabilities. The results were presented in the form of comparative tables and graphs illustrating the number and types of detected threats. The analysis showed that ZAP detected the most vulnerabilities, particularly in low-risk categories, Skipfish excelled in identifying specific threats, while Wapiti was effective in finding simple vulnerabilities. The study demonstrated the need to combine different scanners and supplement them with manual tests for a comprehensive assessment of web application security

    Evaluation of deep learning models for flood forecasting in Bangladesh

    Flooding is a recurrent and devastating issue in Bangladesh, largely due to its geographical and climatic conditions. This study examined the performance of four deep learning architectures Feed-forward Neural Network (FNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) in predicting floods in Bangladesh. Utilizing a binary classification dataset of historical meteorological and hydrological data, the findings revealed that GRU outperformed the other models, achieving an accuracy of 98%, a precision of 99%, a recall of 98%, and an F1-score of 99%. In contrast, LSTM attained an accuracy of 96%, a precision of 99%, a recall of 95%, and an F1-score of 97%. These results underscored the effectiveness of GRU for operational flood forecasting, which was critical for enhancing disaster preparedness in the region

The study ultimately focuses on the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Campus in North Cyprus as its main subject of analysis. While urbanization continues to pose global challenges, requiring innovative planning solutions, this paper's primary aim is to explore the potential for smart campus development within a specific institutional and regional context. The framework of this overview study first delves into the literature on smart cities to identify their goals, aspects, components, and the role of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in achieving sustainability. It then reviews various smart campus projects, using a general overview to lead into a detailed case study of the Lille campus in Northern France. Building upon these insights, the paper subsequently explores the applicability of smart concepts to the EMU Campus, considering its unique local conditions and potential implementation constraints, which are further elaborated in the main body of the paper

    Classification of cyber attacks in IoMT networks using deep learning: a comparative study

    The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is transforming healthcare through enhanced remote monitoring and real-time data exchange, but it also introduces significant cybersecurity challenges. This study evaluates various deep learning architectures - Feedforward Neural Networks (FNN), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Gated Recurrent Units (GRU), Long Short-Term Memory networks (LSTM), and Bi-LSTM - for classifying cyber-attacks in IoMT networks. Utilizing the ECU-IoHT dataset, the Bi-LSTM and CNN models demonstrated superior performance, achieving 60% and 60% accuracy, 75% and 86% precision, 60% and 60% recall, and 63% and 61% F1-score, respectively. These results highlight the effectiveness of Bi-LSTM and CNN in enhancing cybersecurity measures within the IoMT, underscoring their potential to safeguard connected medical devices

    This article presents the results of an analysis of the accessibility of websites of 16 voivodeship cities in Poland. The study aimed to evaluate the extent to which the websites representing voivodeship capitals comply with WCAG 2.1 standards and to compare the results. The findings indicate discrepancies in meeting the requirements, emphasizing the need to implement more effective practices to improve website accessibility
