As zakat institutions face increasing challenges in the digital era, there is a critical need for a comprehensive framework that aligns traditional principles with modern management practices. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders, quantitative analysis of operational data, and direct observation of processes within BAZNAS. The study assesses the current implementation of ZCP, evaluates the progress and impact of digital transformation initiatives, and examines the effectiveness of existing internal control systems.Findings reveal significant collaboration between ZCP adherence, digital innovation, and robust internal controls. The study identifies key areas where digital technologies can enhance compliance with ZCP and strengthen internal oversight. Moreover, it demonstrates how an integrated approach can improve operational efficiency, increase transparency, and enhance trust among zakat payers (muzakki) and recipients (mustahik). Based on these findings, the research proposes an integrated framework for zakat management that harmonizes ZCP with digital transformation strategies and internal control mechanisms. This framework offers a roadmap for BAZNAS and similar institutions to optimize their operations in the digital age while maintaining adherence to Islamic principles and ensuring accountability. The study contributes to the growing literature on zakat management in the digital era and provides practical insights for zakat institutions worldwide. It also offers policy recommendations for regulatory bodies overseeing zakat managemen

The Concept of Gharimin in Contemporary Fiqh: A Comparative Analysis of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Wahbah al-Zuhayli

    No full text
This research explores the concept of gharimin in contemporary fiqh by analyzing the views of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Wahbah al-Zuhaili. Gharimin refers to individuals in debt who are unable to repay it, as stated in QS. At-Taubah/9:60, making them one of the eight categories (asnaf) eligible to receive zakat. In modern times, the definition of gharimin has expanded in line with increasingly complex social and economic challenges. Yusuf al-Qaradawi adopts a more flexible and contextual approach, viewing zakat as an instrument of empowerment for those in debt due to urgent needs, economic crises, or other social pressures. On the other hand, Wahbah al-Zuhaili maintains a stricter classical fiqh perspective, emphasizing that only debts valid under Sharia law qualify, with a focus on preventing zakat misuse. The study applies a qualitative method using library research to examine both primary and secondary sources related to gharimin and its application in modern zakat management. The findings reveal contrasting methodologies: al-Qaradawi’s contextual and adaptive approach versus al-Zuhaili’s normative and rigorous stance. The research highlights the need for a balanced strategy in managing zakat for gharimin, combining legal compliance with adaptability to current socio-economic realities. Such a balance is essential for effectively addressing poverty and promoting economic stability within the Muslim community. This study contributes to the discourse on contemporary Islamic law by offering practical insights into zakat distribution, particularly in navigating the tensions between traditional principles and modern challenges

Enhancing Translation Services in Jordan through Technology: A Study of Specialization Trends and Language Adaptations

    No full text
This study investigates the influence of advanced technological integration, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and neural machine translation (NMT), on the specialization trends and language adaptation strategies within Jordan's translation industry. Despite technology’s promising potential to enhance translation efficiency and expand market reach, concerns persist regarding AI's limited ability to accurately grasp contextual nuances, especially in linguistically and culturally diverse languages like Arabic and English. The study aims to identify current technological usage levels among translation service providers, examine how technology influences specialization within legal, medical and technical translation sectors, and explore language adaptation strategies employed to manage AI-driven translations. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), introduced by Davis (1989), serves as the theoretical framework to assess translators' perceived usefulness and ease of use of these technologies. A qualitative approach employing purposive sampling involved ten participants representing diverse roles in Jordan’s translation industry. The obtained findings indicate significant shifts from traditional manual translation to specialized roles emphasizing quality assurance, post-editing, and terminology management; reveal increased emphasis on cultural localization strategies; and highlight challenges such as AI’s limited cultural comprehension, extensive post-editing requirements and data privacy concerns. The study provides recommendations for educational and operational adjustments to enhance technological integration in translation practices.
