Meaning of Happiness for Adolescents from Broken Homes
Adolescents’ lives can be more meaningful when there is happiness within the family. Adolescents from broken homes, due to parental divorce, can experience significant impacts on their happiness. This study aims to describe the meaning of happiness and the factors contributing to happiness in adolescents whose parents have divorced. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method was used. Data were collected through interviews with adolescents whose parents are divorced. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that: 1) Adolescents from broken homes perceive happiness through three aspects: a pleasurable life, a meaningful life, and personal engagement. 2) The factors contributing to happiness among these adolescents are self-acceptance, a sense of purpose, positive interactions, and social support. It is recommended to focus on enhancing the happiness of adolescents from broken homes, and for parents, friends, and extended family members to provide consistent support
Alcoholic Beverage Transactions in the Perspective of Maqasid Shariah: A Traditional Approach in Ternate Culture
This study aims to examine how alcoholic beverage transactions are viewed through the lens of Maqasid Shariah. The fermentation process results in the formation of alcohol (ethanol), which is prohibited and contradicts Islamic law as it falls under the category of khamr (intoxicants). This research is qualitative and descriptive in nature. Alcoholic beverages contain alcohol, and excessive and continuous consumption can harm physical, mental, and psychological well-being, ultimately affecting family life and social relationships. The issue of alcoholic beverages is not unfamiliar in North Maluku society. Some traditional beverages in North Maluku, such as air nira (palm sap) from the seho tree (Arenga pinnata), are fermented into intoxicating drinks like cap tikus. In Ternate, cap tikus is distributed under a different name, minuman akar, which has recently gone viral. This drink is soaked with tree roots, giving it a tea-like color. Despite being banned by authorities, locals continue to consume it, showing no fear of the prohibition. This is due to a weak understanding of religion, as they are aware that such actions are prohibited according to Islamic law as outlined in the Quran, Hadith, Ijma, and Qiyas. Alcoholic transactions offer no benefit but rather harm, contradicting the five principles of Maqasid Shariah: protecting religion, life, intellect, property, and lineage. This is particularly concerning in the Dufa-Dufa community, where strong cultural traditions coexist with Islamic teachings, as reflected in the local saying: adat matoto agama, agama matoto kitabullah, kitabullah matoto jou Allah ta'ala (customs are based on religion, religion is based on the Quran, and the Quran is based on Allah's will)
Digital Transformation and Tax Policy: Analyzing MSME Resilience in Post-Pandemic Era Through E-Commerce Adoption and Tax Incentive Utilization in Bandar Lampung Central Market
This study investigates the intersection of digital transformation and fiscal policy in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) resilience in the post-COVID-19 landscape. Through comprehensive interviews with 100 MSME owners in Bandar Lampung's Central Market, we examine the effectiveness of government tax incentives and digital platform adoption as key survival strategies. Our findings reveal a significant gap in tax incentive utilization, with 61% of MSMEs not accessing these benefits primarily due to insufficient socialization and complex regulatory frameworks. However, MSMEs demonstrate remarkable adaptability in digital transformation, with 50% adopting Shopee and 29% utilizing Tokopedia as primary e-commerce platforms. The study identifies a clear pattern of digital platform preference, with businesses leveraging various online marketplaces to expand market reach and enhance competitiveness. The research also examines these adaptations through an Islamic economic perspective, evaluating the alignment of digital commerce and tax incentive utilization with Islamic business principles. Our findings suggest that while tax incentive programs have shown limited effectiveness, digital platform adoption has emerged as a crucial factor in business sustainability. This research contributes to understanding the evolving dynamics of MSME resilience in the digital age. It provides practical insights for policy enhancement and business strategy development in the post-pandemic era
