Bridging the Gap from Classroom-based Learning to Experiential Professional Learning: A Hong Kong Case
Get PDFThis paper describes and evaluates a funded longitudinal teaching development project that aims to bridge the gap from classroom-based theory learning to experiential professional learning, and thereby prepare ideal and competent world class graduates. To align with the University's shared mission to foster links with the business community, the design of the internship program has a threefold purpose and was implemented in stages. It intends to enhance students' professional awareness-knowledge-skills through a multi-leveled approach integrating classroom learning with professional practice. A debriefing mechanism was also built in enabling students to share their learning and professional challenges, and theory application to problem-solving scenarios. A 360 degree multiple evaluation procedure were used to measure the project effectiveness, including the use of industry consultants, student interns, hosts, and academic supervisors. The project has proved to promote closer ties with the business community and enhance students' professional competencies to increase future success in the competitive job market. The impact of the internship program is significant in two aspects. From the perspective of student learning, the internship allows students to understand how they can improve business efficiency by applying communications theories. From the teaching perspective, the successful and unsuccessful intern experiences can be drawn upon in developing class-room teaching. These lessons can focus on preparing students to solve real-world business communication problems

Contributions of Islam on women's political rights has been long existed, Islam never restricts women’s creativity in any field as long as it does not violate the nature as a woman. If she has married, responsibilities as a wife and mother of her children should not be forgotten. In Islam, either man or woman has the right to organize, fight and defend, and the right to participate in the diplomatic and political agreements. The constraints against women is the lack of support from the women themselves for the sake of fulfilling a quota of 30% which is until this time it has not happened yet. Besides, the lack of knowledge for their representation as women in the political domain which has the real influence to the prosperous society The efforts being made should have been done well, the government should always pay attention to the representation of women in many ways. Get PDFEnvironmental management becomes the attention of environmental existence because the exploitation is always in contiguity with nature, including forest exploitation which has positive and negative effects. On the one hand, the forest provides economical growth, but it also brings the natural demage (environmental ecosystem) on the other hand. The legal norms become a border and a sign of legal subject flexibility at once for forest exploitation. According to Gustav Radburch, the purposes of law are fairness, certainty and usefulness; it will become the hope to create environmental management which has environmentally sound based on Law No. 32 of 2009 on the Protection and Environmental Management. This article uses a normative legal research based on legal system components including the structure, substance and legal culture. There are some rights and obligations in environmental management; the right to live in healty and good environment, and obligation to keep the environment as well as possible. Justice in environmental management can be actualized if rights and obligations are run inequilibrium. Whereas, the legal certainty lies in the rule of law that become the reference of legal subject to exploit the forest resources. The legal certainty can be run effectively if it supported by good law enforcement. The legal benefit is achieved when the domminant legal subject perceived to benefit happiness. Fairness, certainty and benefits provide significant functions to maintain the environmental management with environmentally sound. But it can not be implemented simultaneously because of different tasks and functions
PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER ANAK USIA DINI MELALUI METODE PEMBELAJARAN FIELD TRIP
Get PDFThis paper reveals (1) the urgency of implementing good character to children from early childhood in Kindergarten; (2) field trip activity represent the application of character building process in Kinderganden; and (3) a number of characters built as an impact of applicating field trip to children in eraly childhood in Kindergarden. Besides 0-6 years in a golden age for children to absorb every coming idea, another rationale comes from al-Qur’an. Character education involve knowledge, love and the implementation of good behaviour into habitual pattern. Characters perceived ideal and important need to be internalised into every child since early childhood. These include love for God, respect and good manners, responsibility, hard work ethics, leadership and justice, creativity, humble, love for nature, and love for the people and the state. Amongst field work activities reflecting good character education are file trip to orphanage, zoo, vegetable garden, library, airport, and other places. KONSTRUKSI IDENTITAS DIRI DALAM ORGANISASI ETNIS

It allows people to critically think of their social world and their position in that world. Ethnic diversity could facilitate intercultural dialogues and teamworks but it could also lead people into vigilant society where one group over-anticipates what another group are able to do. This is, however, the result of the dynamics of the construction of identity that relates to ethnicity as one of it major pillars. This paper, thus, aims at analyzing the identity construction among people in ethnic organizations settings. REPRESENTASI POLIGAMI DALAM FILM SURGA YANG TAK DIRINDUKAN (ANALISIS SEMIOTIK ROLAND BARTHES)
Get PDFThe increasing popularity of polygamy among people in society has inspired many production houses to take it onto teather screen. One of such movies is “Surga yang Tak Dirindukan”. The aim of this research, thus, is to analyze the representation of polygamy in dialogues and scenes of “Surga yang Tak Dirindukan” using a combination of qualitative-descriptive methods and Roland Barthes’s semiotics model. Audiovisual observations are applied to collect data needed for analisys. Findings reveal that representations of polygamy are found in this movie. The movie of “Surga yang tak dirindukan” tells a story of a woman struggling to deal with psychological conflict arising from polygamy in her household. The moral of this movie is that deep understanding of ikhlas (sincerity) can be applied to solve everyday problems related to psychological conflicts optimally.
