SEKOLAH PERJUMPAAN SEBAGAI GERAKAN DAKWAH BERBASIS KOMUNITAS
Get PDFDa’wa is on of the most important parts of Islamic teachings. In the context of the implementation of da’wa in the formal school settings, da’wa is responsible for the overall result of the process of implanting Islamic values into school age children. However, da’wa in the settings of formal school is less successful in integrating the objective of da’wa into the learning process and evaluation involving students. This article, thus, aims at revealing the implementation of da’wa within the framework of community school settings in several villages in West Lombok regency. Findings in this article suggest that the implementation of da’wa in the framework of community school settings contributes to the increase in the quality students’ religiousity.Keywords: Community school settings, da’wa, and students’ religiousity

Hujat al-Islam Imam al-Ghazali never felt the same, because that is what he poured great ideas, method of finding and approaching the real Maha close in a work given the title "Minhâj al-'Abidîn Ilâ Jannati Rabbil 'Alamîn" . In this book there are seven (7) steps that will be passed by the seeker of the road to get closer to Allah Azza Wajalla. The seven steps are (1) al-science wa al-Marifah, (2) al-Taubat, (3) al-Awâiq, (4) al-Awârid, (5) al-Bawâits, (6) al-Qawâdih and (7) al-Hamd wa al-Syukr. Between one step with the next step interconnected. Every human being who works without knowledge must be losers, his charity will not be accepted by Allah, because it requires knowledge and knowledge. In charity there is a defect either forget (nisyan) or deliberately (amdan), because that's give the media to repent. After repentance humans back clean, but in worship there is a very powerful challenge like the world, creatures, syaithan and also lust, because it needs cleaning, this cleansing position is called al-Awâiq. After knowing the rackets in worship, it is necessary to cleanse themselves of the various challenges that is why al-Shaykh gave aqabah onwards al-Awârid. At aqabah this will explain how to overcome these challenges. And so on until to the maqam al-Hamd wa al-Syukr. These seven aqabât are to be discussed in this paper
The Existence of Mangaji Tudang Method in Enhancing Students’ Arabic Skills at Islamic Boarding Schools
Get PDFIslamic boarding schools play a significant role to run the best education to dig up knowledge for young generation. The integration of the national curriculum into Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) has become a serious concern in education system in Indonesia. Language teaching methods took a part to facilitate the language teaching and learning. This study discusses mangaji tudang method conducted in Ma’had Aly As'adiyah, Sengkang. This qualitative study discusses the method used by teachers in the Nahwu learning process. The data were collected through interview, observation, literature review and documentary. The data were analysed through coding process. The results of the study show that Mangaji Tudang carried out in Ma'had Aly As'adiyah Sengkang is a tradition of Islamic Boarding School learning models that integrates Islamic studies and Arabic language skills focusing on the integration of reading, listening, and writing skills. The most significant outcomes of the method are reading skills and mufradat (vocabulary) mastery
Investigating the Relationship between Foreign Language Anxiety and Oral Performance of Non-English Major University Students in Indonesia
Get PDFThis quantitative study was conducted to find out the relationship between Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) and the achievements of non-English major university students in Indonesia. Through descriptive analysis, the study found that learners experienced various degrees of FLA with the mean score 93.07 (SD = 17.69, N = 119). This study also found a statistically significant, negative correlation between the learners’ FLA and their achievements as measured with their grades, r (117) = -.37, p < .01. Consistent with that, significant, negative relationships were also found between the learners' achievements and all the three related situation-specific anxieties, namely, communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation. Considering the results, it is suggested that both teachers and students should minimise the debilitating effects of students’ FLA. Based on the limitations of this study, some recommendations for future researches are also stated. Suggested directions of future researches on FLA in Indonesia are investigations on the relationship between FLA and achievements across different levels of education as well as thorough qualitative investigations of FLA. Investigating Self Professional Development in Teaching English: The Case of English College Teachers’ Role as Models
Get PDFSelf Professional Development is one of the key factors in Foreign Language Learning, and therefore strategies in developing English professional college teachers should be seen as an important aspect of improving English lecturers’ role as models. This study was done through a survey to 30 EFL college teachers of PGRI Teacher Training College and State Islamic Institute of Tulungagung, a small town in East Java, Indonesia, in order to underline the basis of making a decision on improving efforts for the sake of creating English Professional Development college teachers who are influential toward the success of English teaching and learning process. The instrument -a questionnaire including three open ended questions-was developed in accordance to reviewing some related research articles about professional developing. This study reveals the fact that to be a professional English college teachers, one should develop ten professional efforts namely perceived professional identity as model; career development needs, theoretical and content knowledge; practical knowledge and professional skills; professional networking; pedagogical content knowledge; perceived benefits of ICT use to students (perceived by the teacher); perceived benefits to the college teachers (self); engaging conducting research
Islamic Law and Copyright In Academic World: The Dynamic Debates between Privatization and Distribution of Knowledge
Get PDFThe article explores copyright problem dynamic in a globalized academic world, especially in the Muslim worlds. The discussed issue in this paper is a conflict of interest between knowledge privatization and distribution, and its relation to the Islamic norms. This paper argues that the main problem of the concept is that the discourse is dominated by the idea of knowledge privatization by the publishers as capitalists, supported by the Government through the policy represented in Copyright law. This study finds that there are several movements emerged in response to the development of copyright law. At least, there are two stream movements; anti copyright movement and movement which demand copyright reform. By presenting examples of copyright resistance movements in the academic world such as Sci-Hub, Libgen, A2K movement, and some copyright experiences in the Muslim world, this article will be guided by Foucauldian genealogical discourse theory. This article confirms that the interests of publishers and academic interests are two things that are difficult to discuss in order to achieve a win win solution. While copyright laws favor the ruling interests of things, it does not fully effective in handling the legal cases on academic and non-profit matters. Besides, Islamic law has its own ambivalence to the copyright case. On the one hand, Islam advocates the widespread dissemination of knowledge, but on the other hand the Muslim worlds have to limit the spread of the sciences in accordance with the interests of intellectual property rights.Keywords: Intellectual Property right, Islam and copyright, privatization of knowledge
Assessment Model Implemented in Learning Gallery to Teach Cross Cultural Understanding for EFL Learners
Get PDFIn response to one of the demands for EFL learners to have cross cultural competence mainly on cultures of English speaking countries, this article describes assessment model implemented in Learning Gallery technique to teach Cross Cultural Understanding. Learning Gallery as one of the innovative ways of teaching content courses with an abundant coverage of materials proves to be able to help learners to be competent in some topics of cultures. This fact has been proved by implementing assessment model, namely Student-Self Test and Teacher-Made Test. The result of this study reveals that such an assessment model brings about improving the students’ cross cultural competence and leads them to be more independent learners. Moreover, through a reflective interview given at the end of the course, they claim that by developing their own test and doing their peer’s made test, they are experienced in test development in addition to be better prepared for the test. Accordingly, this study gives a meaningful insight for EFL lecturers teaching content courses to implement Learning Gallery technique with such an assessment model in order to help the EFL learners to be autonomously independent learners and competent in their own subjects learnt.
Selected Views on Human Nature and their Implications on Education
Get PDFEven though evolution of time and scientific knowledge have provided humanity with the latest understanding on the concept of man, nevertheless man is too complicated to be comprehended in his entirety through any single study carried out on him. As for this reason, the study on man has become perennial in nature. Human nature as a topic more popularly discussed in psychology has caught the attention of many concerned parties from other fields of research. Perhaps some of the most interested people in the study of man will be theologians, philosophers, sociologists, psychologists, anthropologists, biologists, etc. It is highly improbable for parents, psychologists, counselors and teachers to render their best help and services to their subjects without having the proper understanding on the concept of man. Due to this fact, this qualitative study was conducted to analyze some selected views on human nature. Ideas provided by Psychoanalysis, Radical Behaviorism, Humanistic and Islamic psychologies were analyzed. Upon analyzing the different concepts on human nature, the researchers examined the implications and possible outcomes when such concepts are applied in the field of education. The textual-analysis method was employed in interpreting the relevant data of this study
