Evaluation of Problem-based Learning Method for Teaching Islamic Education Courses to Students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
Emphasis on teaching religious education in the university and raising the level of religious awareness of students in parallel with specialized education, raises attention to the important point that the set of Islamic education courses was in line with the demands and desires of students? The aim of this study is to an increase of the analytic mood among the students and faculty members of the department of Islamic education by the teaching method of Problem-based learning. The present study was performed cross-sectionally on students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Islamic education courses that they had taken as a general course. Does Sharia By-Laws Damage Interfaith Harmony? The Case of Sharia By-Laws Implementation in Pamekasan, Madura
Since the beginning of the Reformation Era in 1998, Indonesia has been transforming itself into a more liberal polity than that of in the New Order Era. This political circumstance is characterized by the freedom of opinion and the decentralization of power. During this Reformation Era, many local regulations have been enacted. One of which was sharia by-laws or local regulation based on Islamic norms in some largely Muslim populated regions. This situation has triggered concerns about the impacts of sharia by-laws over the inter-religious harmony among a very diverse society of Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the sharia by-laws implementation in Pamekasan, Madura, and analyze its implication for inter-religious harmony. By using a qualitative approach and phenomenological descriptive analysis, it reveals that there has not been found negative impacts on the implementation of sharia by-laws since its enactment in 2001 until today. The internal and external potentials of Pamekasan residents, arguably, have become the determinant factor in keeping the by-laws in line with inter-religious harmony. These potentials include cultural-deeply rooted social capitals such as friendliness, politeness, mutual respect, and helping others. Besides, dialogue among religious elites, which is facilitated either by local government or civilian organizations, is frequently conducted and this helps to create a conducive atmosphere for all despite the existence of sharia by-laws in Pamekasan, Madura.Keywords: sharia by-laws, interfaith harmony, social capitals
The Determinants of Islamic Banking Capital Structure in Indonesia
This study aims to analyze and explain the factors that influence capital structure. Capital structure (CS) is measured by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER). Profitability is determined by Return on Assets (ROA) and Net Profit Margin (NPM). Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) is used as an indicator of risThis study aims to analyze and explain the factors that influence capital structure. Financial to Deposit Ratio (FDR) is used as an indicator of risk. Firm size is projected with Ln TA. The population of this study is all Islamic banks contained in Bank Indonesia, with observation periods starting in 2010 until 2018. The selection of samples in this study is a purposive sampling method. Data analysis and hypothesis testing were carried out by using the Eviews 11 program. The results of the study showed that sharia banking companies, all the independent variables simultaneously had a significant effect on the capital structure. Return on Assets (ROA) and firm size have affected the capital structure. Islamic bank managers in Indonesia choose the capital structure obtained from internal funds and the larger the company, it is necessary to arrange capital structure, to obtain the sustainability of the company in the future.k. Firm size is projected with Ln TA. The population of this research is all Islamic banks contained in Bank Indonesia, with observation periods starting in 2010 until 2017. The selection of samples in this study is purposive sampling method. Data analysis and hypothesis testing were carried out by structural equation model approach using the SPSS program. The results of the study showed that in Islamic sharia companies, all the independent variables simultaneously had a significant effect on the capital structure, partially only the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) variable that did not affect the capital structure, while the other independent variables had a significant temporary effect on conventional Research conducted by the researchers themselves used some of the same variables and using the PLS 3.0 analysis tool there were similar results that only risks did not affect the capital structure. The conclusion of this study is that there is no difference in capital structure in Islamic banking companies and conventional banking companies
Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan dan Gerakan Pembaharuan di Aligarh
Kertas ini mengkaji usaha dan sumbangan Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan dalam mempelopori gerakan islah dan pembaharuan di Aligarh Muslim Universiti. Ia menyorot sejarah awal perjuangan beliau dalam menubuhkan Aligarh bagi mencetuskan kebangkitan akliah dan menggerakkan usaha modernisasi pendidikan Islam. Metodologi kajian adalah berdasarkan kaedah induktif, dan deduktif dengan menganalisis penulisan tentang Sir Sayyid dan pemikirannya serta sumbangannya dalam pembangunan Aligarh dan cuba merumuskan pandangan dan sumbangan yang diberikan dari perjuangan dan gerakan intelektual ini kepada pembaharuan dan kebangkitan Islam. Kajian ini penting bagi melihat pengaruh dan kesan daripada perjuangan Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan dalam menegakkan perubahan dan membawa kesedaran dan faham rasionalisme Islam yang meluas. Aspirasi ini diteruskan dalam dasar pendidikan tinggi di Aligarh dan dunia Islam lain bagi mengangkat nilai kemodenan dan sains dalam harakat pendidikan dan pemikiran Islam moden.
Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Examples Non Examples dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII-1 MTs Negeri 1 Balikpapan
Kondisi real yang terjadi di lapangan, terkadang minat siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPS terbilang minim Hal ini disebabkan kelemahan yang dimiliki oleh guru pengampu mata pelajaran IPS yang kurang bisa mendesain atau mengemas materi pembelajarannya secara baik salah satunya minimnya pengetahuan guru tentang model-model pembelajaran yang sekarang sudah banyak dibuat oleh para ahli pendidikan Selain itu guru pendidikan IPS juga belum bisa melakukan manajemen kelas secara optimal mereka lebih memposisikan dirinya sebagai penyaji informasi dari buku atau guru terkesan menyampaikan apa adanya yang ada di dalam buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk implementasi pembelajaran examples non examples pada materi keungulan dan keterbatasan antarruang serta peran pelaku ekonomi Kelas VII-2 di MTs Negeri 1 Balikpapan. Hasil akhir (pada siklus II) maka nilai rata-rata yang dicapai adalah 81,71 atau mengalami peningkatan sebesar 93,75%. Angka persentase ini telah melampaui standar nilai indikator capaian yaitu sebesar 75%. Hal ini berarti bahwa guru telah berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran examples non examples pada pelajaran IPS materi “Keungulan dan keterbatasan dalam permintaan dan penawaran pelaku ekonomi” di MTs Negeri 1 Balikpapan
OPTIMALISASI PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MEMINIMALISIR PENGGUNAAN GAWAI BAGI ANAK
Most people use a gadget to help them do their job more efficiently. However, for many people, gadget possesses a significant challenge as it distracts them from focusing on their job. A gadget brings a positive and negative impact on the overall performance. Children also use the gadget as their source of entertainment and it can lead them to addictive behavior thus affect their character development. The objective of this article, hence, is to describe the role of parents in minimizing the use of gadgets among their children. A combination of descriptive methods and literature is utilized to analyze journal articles and research reports on the role of parents. Findings suggest that the role of parents is important in the supervision of children. A family needs character and personality education. Moreover, parents can also act as counselors for children their children at home.Keywords: gadget, children's character, and the role of parents.
Manajemen Amil Profesional di Lembaga Amil Zakat Dana Peduli Ummat Kalimantan Timur
This study aims to determine and analyze the implementation of amil management in LAZ Dana Peduli Ummat (DPU) East Kalimantan. The research was conducted using qualitative methods, by conducting in-depth interviews with Amil LAZ DPU Kaltim in Samarinda, Kutai Kartanegara, and Balikpapan. The data validity was performed using the triangulation method, and data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the application of amil management in LAZ DPU East Kalimantan were; In the recruitment of amil, HR planning is carried out and the determination of amil's criteria. The work agreement applies the signing of the integrity fact. For the coaching and development of amil, 3 months of training are held for new amil, SDB program (Greetings DPU Blessings) every morning in the early hours of work, CURGAS (Talk of Ideas), Fiqh Zakat School, Training both inside and outside. For performance assessment using KPI (Key Performance Indicator) instrument which is audited internally and externally. While the compensation given is in the form of basic salary, food allowance, health, family, transportation and bonuses. To strengthen Human Resources, four basic principles are applied, namely: the Abdullah and Khalifah principles, justice, organizational goals and individual goals of human resources, and references to the character of the Prophet Muhammad: shiddiq, amanah, fathanah and tabligh. Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Anak pada Lingkungan Pasca Aktivitas Tambang Batubara di Kota Samarinda
Penelitian ini membahas tentang perlindungan hukum bagi anak yang tinggal pada lingkungan pasca aktivitas tambang batubara yang berada di Kota Samarinda dan mengungkap faktor apa saja yang menjadi terhambatnya pemenenuhan hak anak pada lingkungan pasca aktivitas tambang batubara. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian hukum empiris dengan tipe penelitian sosiologi yaitu yuridis sosiologi (sociological jurisprudence). Analisis yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif analisis yaitu metode yang bertujuan menggambarkan keadaan-keadaan yang mungkin terdapat dalam situasi tertentu dan untuk membantu dalam mengetahui bagaimana mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Perlindungan hukum terhadap anak di lingkungan pasca aktivitas tambang batubara di kota Samarinda yang menyebabkan terabaikannya hak-hak anak yang menjadi korban dari tahun 2011-2016 sejumlah 14 anak yang meninggal dunia pada lokasi pasca aktivitas tambang batubara di kota Samarinda berupa perlindungan hukum dikarenakan hak-hak dilokasi pasca tambang batubara dilanggar seperti hak untuk hidup, hak mendapatkan rasa aman, dan hak mendapatkan lingkungan yang sehat dan bersih. Adapun faktor-faktor yang menjadi penghambat pemenuhan hak anak di lokasi pasca aktivitas tambang batubara yaitu tidak adanya ruang bermain bagi anak sehingga anak-anak bermain dilokasi pasca tambang, tidak adanya pengawasan dari pihak perusahaan untuk menjaga lokasi pasca tambang batubara sehingga tidak adanya peringatan dari orang dewasa untuk memberitahukan untuk tidak masuki lokasi pasca tambang dan bermain ditempat tersebut, tidak adanya garis pembatas atau pagar sehingga anak bisa bebas keluar masuk dan bermain dilokasi sekitar lubang pasca tambang dan tidak adanya niatan dari pihak perusahaan untuk menutup lubang tambang, setelah terjadi meninggalnya anak baru lubang tersebut segera ditutup. Transformation of Learning Management: Integrative Study of Islamic Boarding School Curriculum
The existence of Islamic education e.g. Islamic boarding schools has contributed in in the middle of social lives in Indonesia. Continuously, Islamic boarding schools have developed in accordance with social demand nowadays. Besides, Islamic boarding school education should make adaptation by doing many changes especially in the field of learning management through curriculum integration of Salafiyah and Kholafiyah in order to build Islamic boarding school as central for excellent. Therefore, as an effort to achieve intended goal, observation and interview were conducted to obtain the data regarding with description of learning management especially concerning with Salafiyah and Kholafiyah curriculums at Nabil Husein Islamic boarding school Samarinda. The findings indicate that the value of Islamic boarding school is assumed as a core value of curriculum development as shifting paradigm through Islamic boarding school learning management. That paradigm has correlation with institutional goals of Nabil Husein i.e. as Islamic education main controller with religious and moral values oriented. In addition, graduates of Nabil Husein are expected to master two types of knowledge fields i.e. general and Islamic knowledges with spiritual values, so that Islamic boarding school education graduates are able to integrate among social, emotion, and intelligence quotients. Further implication is also noticed and suggested in this research
Meningkatkan Kinerja Guru melalui Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah dan Supervisi Pendidikan
The research based on the phenomenon that indicates Madrasah Tsanawiyah’s teachers in Samarinda has a good performance when their headmaster lead them effectively and supervision of functional agencies. The purpose of this research are: (a) to describe the quality of the leadership of headmasters of Madrasah Tsanawiyah, (b) to describe the quality of educational supervision of Madrasah Tsanawiyah, (c) to describe the quality of the teachers performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah, (d) to find out the influence of headmasters’ leadership on the teachers performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah partially, (e) to find out the influence of education supervision on the teachers performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah partially, and (f) to find out the influence of headmasters’ leadership and education supervision on the teachers performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Samarinda simultaneously. The entire study population Madrasah Tsanawiyah teachers of Samarinda amount 629 people, while the sample are 76 teachers applied multi - stage sampling technique. Determination of madrasah through purposive sampling technique, whereas the selection of respondents conducted through random sampling technique. Data collection used questionnaire techniques, while the data analysis techniques used Multiple Linier Regression Analysis. The result of this research concluded as follows. The headmasters’ leadership based teachers’ assessment are categorized as good (μ= 4,09), while the implementation of education supervision are in good category (μ = 3,92), and the teachers’ performance are in good category (μ = 4,01). Partial leadership has a strong influence on the teachers’ performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (r= 0.73). The headmasters’ leadership contributed 54.6 % to the effect for improving the quality of teachers performance. Partial implementation of educational supervision has a strong influence on the teacher performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (r = 0.72). Implementation of educational supervision contributed 53% to the effect for improving the quality of teacher performance. Headmasters’ leadership and implementation of educational supervision simultaneously have a strong influence on the teachers performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (r = 0.74). Headmasters’ leadership and implementation of educational supervision contributied 56.1 % for improving the quality of teacher performance
