Blended Learning as a Developmental Model Strategy of Teaching and Learning in Islamic Universities in Indonesia
Blended learning is a demanding topic nowadays where its existence is possibly enhance lecturers’ competencies as well as giving students new experiences from the combination of different platforms of learning i.e. face to face interaction and online class. Since blended learning seems to be relevant topic at the present time, therefore the aim of the study is to explore the implementation of blended learning in Islamic universities in six different cities in Indonesia. Direct observation was conducted in order to map the strategy used by each Islamic university in implementing blended learning method. Other than that, Focus Group Discussion was also held to all Islamic universities in order to dig deeper regarding the policy from the management of the study program of Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) as well as confirming to what researchers found on the direct observation to the lecturers related to blended learning employment. Additionally, to support the result, semi-structured interview was conducted to representative of students from each Islamic university in order to highlight their perspectives in the realization of blended learning. As a result, the researchers found that the proportion of having between offline and online learning methods are varied, whether 70:30, 60:40, or 50:50. Additionally, there is no slight difference in terms of conducted activities during the offline session, whereas the use of online platforms with varied e-learning media are found very interestingly. Lastly, interview conducted to PAI students indicate positive attitude towards the implementation of blended learning where it is obviously provide future insight for further researchers. The novelty and pedagogical implications are also highlited in this article.  
Membangun Kerukunan Umat Beragama melalui Model Pembelajaran PAI Berbasis Kearifan Lokal pada Penguruan Tinggi
Ketegangan sering terjadi karena kurangnya interaksi antar umat beragama Islam dan Kristen, pada tahun 1998 sampai 2000-an, karena Toraja dan Kota Palopo merupakan daerah perbatasan. Problem utamanya adalah masyarakat secara umum kian hari kian tergerus dari nilai-nilai menghargai keragaman, terutama keragaman beragama dan berkeyakinan. Bahkan lebih parahnya lagi, beberapa atau bahkan sebagian besar tindak kekerasan, intoleransi, terhadap orang yang berbeda agama/keyakinan itu dipraktikkan dalam institusi pendidikan. Kearifan lokal diperlukan sebagai sarana pendukung dalam usaha menciptakan solidaritas sosial, mengawetkan, serta mengalih-generasikan budaya sehingga dapat meminimalisasi konflik sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai budaya Bugis dalam pendidikan Islam di perguruan tinggi yang relevan dalam membangun pluralisme. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatanetnopedagogi dengan melibatkan beberapa tokoh dan dosen di Kota Palopo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran budaya dalam pendidikan agama Islam di perguruan tinggi sejalan dengan nilai-nilai pluralisme yang tumbuh dan berkembang di Indonesia. Beberapa nilai pluralisme dalam pendidikan kearifan lokal budaya Bugis terjelma konsep pesse seperti nilai Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakaingge, Sipakatou. Budaya Bugis punya cinta dan kasih sayang terhadap sesama ditunjukkan dengan pepatah seperti Mali siparappe, rebba sipatokkong, malilu sipakainge. Hal ditandai adanya kerja sama di semua aspek kehidupan, baik aspek ekonomi, sosial, budaya, politik, sampai kegiatan keagamaan sudah terjalin paham toleransi dalam beragama yakni saling menghargai dan menghormati antara pemeluk agama
Communal Conflicts in West Kalimantan: The Urgency of Multicultural Education
Communal conflicts between ethnic groups in West Kalimantan still leave a post-conflict residue which is problematic to this day. For example, in Sambas, although at present it can be said that the relationship between ethnic Sambas Melayu and Madurese outside Sambas seems to be subsiding, the research findings showed that it is not the real fact in Sambas. Even in the community, there is still a stigma about Sambas as an unsafe area for the Madurese ethnicity. This social fact shows that the efforts of a dialogue forum to reconcile the two ethnicities only succeeded in resolving conflicts on the surface, but it failed to resolve the core of the conflict, namely stereotyping. Although it is not as complicated as in Sambas, inter-ethnic stereotypes are also a problem for two other post-conflict areas, namely Sanggau Ledo and Pontianak. Because education is considered to have a strategic role in building multicultural awareness and correcting stereotypes, in this context, multicultural education is considered relevant to be developed in schools in West Kalimantan. It is the focus of this study. This study is the result of qualitative research, whose data is obtained by the authors from observations, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study were people in post-conflict areas in West Kalimantan, namely in Sanggau Ledo, Sambas, and Pontianak with ethnic backgrounds of Malay, Dayak, and Madura. Pelaksanaan Kegiatan Jum’at Takwa dalam Mewujudkan Visi Sekolah
Realisasi dari bunyi visi sekolah SD Negeri 005 Balikpapan Barat “Terwujudnya Sumber Daya Manusia yang Unggul dalam berprestasi, berkarakter, berwawasan lingkungan dan hidup sehat dilandasi IMTAQ dan IPTEK”. Ada beberapa usaha dan kegiatan-kegiatan sekolah yang mengarah ke visi sekolah tersebut khususnya pada mewujudkan SDM yang beriman dan bertakwa, salah satunya melalui kegiatan keagamaan di sekolah yang diberi nama Jumat Takwa. Oleh karena itu kegiatan Jum’at Takwa di SD Negeri 005 sebagai salah satu perwujudan dari visi sekolah penting untuk dilihat lebih jauh dalam suatu penelitian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengadakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data primer yaitu kepala sekolah dan guru PAI. Sumber datasekunder yaitu dokumentasi. Data dianalisis mengunakan tiga langkah yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Pelaksanaan Kegiatan Jum’at Takwa dalam mewujudkan visi sekolah di SD Negeri 005 Balikpapan Barat belum sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan. Ada pun proses pelaksanaan kegiatan Jum’at Takwa meliputi persiapan tempat berupa penggelaran terpal, shalat dhuha 4 rakaat dan 2 kali salam, pembacaan surah yasiin, juz ‘Amma atau bacaan Asmaul Husna sesuai yang telah dijadwalkan dan diakhiri dengan evaluasi. Ada pun kendalanya yaitu beberapa murid kurang persiapan membawa perlengkapan. Solusinya, bisa segera diatasi. Hujan, solusi dari kepala sekolah memasukkan rencana pembanguan aula sekolah. Kegiatan Jum’at Takwa di SD Negeri 005 Balikpapan Barat merupakan kegiatan keagamaan yang menggunakan enam pendekatan yaitu pendekatan pengalaman, pembiasaan, emosional, rasional, fungsional, dan keteladanan dalam mewujudkan visi sekolah
The Effectiveness of Students’ Listening Skill by Using Podcast at The Second Grade of SMK Negeri 6 Balikpapan
Listening is one of necessary skill in learning English and also the patent skill in English language beside speaking, writing, and reading. Listening is considered as the most basic skill because it is firstly used by learners when they begin to learn a language, especially spoken language. In addition, unconsciously, listening is much more used in classroom than other skills. Nowadays, listening is the most difficult skill for many students to understand. The aim of this research was to find out the empirical data which could determine whether there is a significant effect of using podcast on students‘ listening skill at the second grade of SMK Negeri 6 or not. The method used was quantitative method with quasi-experimental research as its design. The samples of this research were 25 students of TITL 1 class as the experimental class and 25 students of TITL 2 class as the controlled class. Those samples were elected by using purposive sampling. To collect the data from both classes, this research used a listening test provided in a pre-test and post-test as the research instrument. Based on the result of the research, data from both pretest and post-test were calculated and analysed by using IBM SPSS Statistic 21. And the result revealed that the post-test mean score of the experimental class was greater than that of the controlled class, namely (80.88 > 77.04). It meant that the experimental class and the controlled class were different significantly in their posttest mean score. Then, the result of hypotheses analysis showed that tobserve was higher than ttable (2.098 > 1.677) and the significance 2-tailed (P) was lower than the alpha (0.041 < 0.05). It meant that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be considered that using podcast has given significant effect on students‘ listening skill. In addition, the result was also measured by using cohen‘s d effect size measurement to know the strenght of the effect. And the result showed that using podcast in teaching listening gave a moderate effect on students‘ listening skill with the effect size of 0.51
Optimalisasi Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Siswa pada Tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Yogyakarta
The purpose of this study was to see the optimization of higher order thinking skills of students at the high school level in Yogyakarta by using the service learning model in biology learning, especially in schools using the 2013 curriculum. This study was a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest noneequivalent control group design. The population was all students of class X IPA at SMAN 1 Godean, SMAN 2 Nganglik and SMAN 1 Kalasan. Sampling using convenience sampling technique. Analysis of higher order thinking skills using Anderson Krathwohl's taxonomic indicators at the level of analyzing (C4) and evaluating (C5) were analyzed using the ANAKOVA test at the 0.05 significance level
Forms of Cooperation Between Religions; A Tafsir Perspective
Indonesians have different backgrounds; they can live in harmony and side by side without any friction and conflict due to cooperation between religions in an excellent multicultural frame. The research approach is library research. The primary data source used is the Qur'an with the thematic method, while secondary data is in books, journals, and documentation. The study findings show; (1) the cooperation verses in the Qur'an, fifteen verses have the Madaniyah status, and seven verses have the Makiyah status. These verses are grouped into three things: cooperation based on Islamic brotherhood, cooperation based on ukhuwah wathaniyah or nationality, and cooperation based on ukhuwah basyariah human-based. Somebody can carry out a partnership based on ukhuwah basyariah in a multicultural context can be carried out in the political, economic, cultural, and social fields. (2) The hadiths related to the cooperation verses are found in Sahih Muslim numbers 2704 and 2705, Sahih Bukhari numbers 2124 and 2811, Sunan Nasai numbers 3867 and 3871. Based on the transmission line, the hadith is agreed to be a valid hadith even though there are differences in the text, but the meaning has the same substance
Deconstructing the Meaning of Structural Da'wah: A Study of the Safari Subuh Berjama’ah by the Government of Ponorogo Regency
Safari Subuh Berjama'ah is a structural da'wah effort carried out by the Ponorogo Regency Government to suppress people's immorality behavior. However, religious and political relations in the form of structural da'wah continue to be debated. The purpose of this study was to elaborate on the motives of political interests in the structural da'wah framework of Safari Subuh Berjama'ah. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach. The approach used is a narrative approach by analyzing the text to deconstruct the da'wah motive from the news on the online media portal. The results showed that the purpose of the Safari Subuh Berjama'ah is to increase religiosity, build brotherhood bonds and village views as an effort to find out the development and problems of society. But on the other hand, there is a hidden motive behind the activity, which is to use it as a method of political communication to gain popular votes or campaigns. Uncompetitive political and religious relations tend to be more dominant in the political element. So that the values of da'wah which should be oriented towards Islamic teachings have shifted contradictory to the interests of politicians.Keyword: Structural Da'wah, Deconstruct, Political
analisis keputusan muzakki melaksanakan pembayaran zakat di badan amil zakat nasional kabupaten di sumatera utara
Artikel ini mendiskusikan tentang kepercayaan muzakki terhadap badan amil zakat nasional yang menuntut adanya kesadaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penngaruh langsung dan tidak langsung antara variabel pengetahuan, religiusitas, ulama, transparansi dan kepercayaan sebagai variabel interveningterhadap keputusan muzakki melaksanakan pembayaran zakat melalui baznas kabupaten di Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jalur dan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS. Dari hasil uji signifikansi diperoleh pengetahuan dan transparansi berpengaruh signifikan dan nyata terhadap keputusan membayar zakat melalui badan amil zakat nasional kabupaten melalui kepercayaan sebagai variabel intervening di Sumatera Utara. Religiusitas dan ulama tidak berpengaruh signifikan dan nyata terhadap keputusan membayar zakat melalui badan amil zakat nasional kabupaten melalui kepercayaan sebagai variabel intervening di Sumatera Utara dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% atau tingkat kesalahan sebesar 5 %
POTENTIAL ANALYSIS OF ISLAMIC BANK HUMAN RESOURCES IN EAST KALIMANTAN
This study aims to see the potential for developing human resources of Islamic banks in East Kalimantan Province. This research is a qualitative and descriptive research, where the data is obtained through library research. Based on the literature study method that has been carried out, several potential human resource development in East Kalimantan have been found, including a large Muslim population (especially in Samarinda City, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, and Balikpapan City, high value of the East Kalimantan Province human development index, support for education. Sector which is reflected through the availability of Islamic Banking/Sharia Economics study programs / Sharia Economic Law at Universities / Institutes / Universities in East Kalimantan, Stability of Sharia Banking Asset Development in East Kalimantan Province. This makes East Kalimantan one of the areas that have potential or opportunities to overcome the problem of limited human resources both in terms of quality and quantity.
