Types and Functions of Sarcasm in Indonesian Political Conversation on ‘X’

    No full text
This study investigates how sarcasm is produced and functions within Indonesian political conversations on X (formerly Twitter). Although previous research has examined sarcasm in entertainment, religion, and media contexts, studies focusing on political discourse especially within Indonesia’s highly polarized digital environment remain limited. This gap indicates the need to understand not only the types of sarcasm used but also their rhetorical purposes in online political interactions. Therefore, the aim of this study is to classify the forms of sarcasm using Camp’s (2011) framework and to reveal how each type functions as a tool for political criticism, identity building, and ideological positioning. Adopting a qualitative descriptive design, this research analyzes 30 sarcastic posts and replies responding to government-related issues on X. The instrument consists of an analytical rubric based on linguistic cues of sarcasm, while the data were collected through purposive sampling of public posts from September to October 2025. The data were processed through transcription, classification, and interpretive analysis. The findings show that propositional and illocutionary sarcasm dominate, indicating a strong preference for indirect yet sharp political critique. Sarcasm also serves as a rhetorical strategy for expressing resistance, mocking authority, and strengthening group affiliation among users. These findings imply that sarcasm is not merely humor in digital communication but a significant form of civic engagement and political meaning-making in Indonesia’s online public sphere

. This study aims to analyze in depth the perceptions of business actors regarding the use of digital platforms for business development among MSMEs in East Ciputat District, grounded in the increasing importance of digital transformation highlighted in the literature, particularly through the Technology Acceptance Model and the Diffusion of Innovation framework, which emphasize perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and organizational readiness as key determinants of technology adoption, therefore employing a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation with purposively selected MSME actors engaged in digital activities, and analyzing the data using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña to identify patterns of perception, utilization dynamics, and emerging challenges, with the findings indicating that business actors generally hold positive perceptions of digital platforms due to their ability to expand market reach, enhance marketing effectiveness, strengthen customer engagement, and improve operational efficiency, although these perceptions are accompanied by constraints such as limited digital literacy, technical barriers, low confidence in content creation, and difficulties in maintaining consistent online management, thereby leading to the conclusion that digital platforms have become a strategic necessity rather than an optional tool for MSME sustainability and competitiveness in East Ciputat District, and that their optimal utilization requires systematic capacity-building, continuous mentoring, and ecosystem strengthening to ensure long-term digital adoption and business growth. Keywords: MSMEs, digital platforms, business development, user perception, East Ciputat, digital transformation

AXA Mandiri Insurance Industry CRM Innovation Based Digital Transformation Towards 2030

    No full text
The global insurance industry is facing fundamental digital disruption that demands a shift from transactional to relational business models. This research argues that the future competitive advantage in the insurance industry will no longer lie in the product itself, but rather in the ability to build hyper-personalized, data-driven relationships with customers. We assert that modern Customer Relationship Management (CRM), powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics, has evolved from a mere management tool into a key engine of innovation and growth. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research focuses its analysis on the "from payer to partner" strategy implemented by PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services (AXA Mandiri ) through the "Emma by AXA" platform. Comparative insights are then drawn from three global pioneers with distinct innovation models: Lemonade Inc. (AI-driven disruption), Ping An Insurance (ecosystem integration), and Discovery Vitality (proactive engagement). Key findings from the AXA Mandiri case study validate the existence of a "virtuous cycle," where enhanced customer experience and engagement through digital applications generate rich volumes of behavioral data. This data, when analyzed, forms the foundation for developing more personalized products, which in turn strengthens loyalty and restarts the cycle. The study concludes that mastering this relational business model, with CRM as its central pillar, is a definitive strategic imperative for insurance companies aiming to thrive and lead the market by 2030.Keywords: Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Digital Transformation, Insurance Industry, Service Innovation, AXA Mandiri , Artificial Intelligence (AI), Customer Experience. &nbsp

    No full text
This study investigates the role of digital technology infrastructure in improving learning quality under the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in South Tangerang schools. The background of this research is the persistent gap in digital readiness among schools, where variations in internet connectivity, ICT device availability, and teacher digital competence result in inconsistent learning outcomes. The study aims to analyze how digital infrastructure supports interactive learning, competency development, and the realization of curriculum principles such as personalization, student-centered learning, and project-based approaches. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through literature review, field observations, and informal interviews with teachers and school management. The findings reveal that strong infrastructure, including reliable internet, adequate devices, and functional Learning Management Systems, significantly enhances student engagement, facilitates multimedia-based instruction, and supports digital assessment practices. Conversely, schools with limited infrastructure face disruptions that hinder instructional continuity and reduce opportunities for technology-enabled learning. The study concludes that digital infrastructure is a strategic foundation for cultivating adaptive, independent, and future-oriented learning environments. Strengthening digital governance, improving teacher competence, and ensuring equitable technological access across schools are essential to optimizing Merdeka Curriculum implementation. Keywords: Digital technology infrastructure, Merdeka Curriculum, learning quality, schools, South Tangerang
