Síntese verde e perfil biotecnológico de nanopartículas de prata utilizando o óleo essencial de Piper nigrum L.
No full textIt evaluated the chemical profile, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, in an unprecedented way, of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized from the essential oil nanoemulsion (NEO) of Piper nigrum. For essential oil extraction (EO), the hydrodistillation technique was used, and the chemical constituents were identified by Gas Chromatography Coupled to Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The nanoemulsions were prepared using the phase inversion method, and the synthesis of the AgNPs were performed by the AgNO3 reduction method using NEO. The AgNPs was characterized in terms of chemical profile by UV-Vis Spectrophotometry and particle size by Dynamic Mirroring of Light. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using the ABTS radical discoloration method and anti-inflammatory activity by protein denaturation. The majority constituent of the EO was limonene (42.41%). The maximum SPR band was centered at 420 nm, indicating the characteristic peak of the AgNPs. The lowest IC50 16.26 mg/L for antioxidant activity was obtained for AgNP pH 11. The IC50 that demonstrated the best result for anti-inflammatory activity was pH 11 was 0.217 mg/mL. This study brought in unprecedented results for AgNPs of P. nigrum, demonstrating to be efficient in improving the activities tested in this study and also demonstrating the effect of pH in these formulations.Este avaliou o perfil químico, atividade antioxidante e anti-inflamatória, de forma inédita, de nanopartículas de prata (AgNPs) sintetizadas a partir da nanoemulsão do óleo essencial (NEO) de Piper nigrum. Para extração do óleo essencial (EO), utilizou-se a técnica de hidrodestilação e os constituintes químicos foram identificados por Cromatografia Gasosa Acoplada à Espectrometria de Massas (CG-EM). As nanoemulsões foram preparadas através do método de inversão de fases e a síntese das AgNPs foram realizadas pelo método de redução de AgNO3 utilizando a NEO. As AgNPs foram caracterizadas quanto ao perfil químico por Espectrofotometria UV-Vis e quanto ao tamanho de partícula por Espelhamento Dinâmico de Luz. A atividade antioxidante foi avaliada através do método de descoloração de radicais ABTS e a atividade anti-inflamatória por desnaturação proteica. O constituinte majoritário do EO foi o limoneno (42,41%). A banda máxima de SPR foi centrada em 420 nm indicando o pico característico das AgNPs. A menor IC50 16,26 mg/L para atividade antioxidante foi obtida para a AgNP pH 11. A IC50 que demonstrou o melhor resultado para a atividade anti-inflamatória foi a do pH 11 foi de 0,217 mg mL-1. Este estudo trouxe de forma inédita resultados para AgNPs de P. nigrum, demonstrando ser eficiente na melhoria das atividades testadas neste estudo, demonstrando também o efeito do pH nessas formulações.
Uma análise da ECT para a subcamada de rugosidade da Floresta Amazônica sob condições atmosféricas instáveis
No full textThe equation of turbulence kinetic energy (TKE) quantifies the intensity of turbulence, the mechanisms generating it, transporting it, and dissipating it. Given the well-known difficulty in applying Monin-Obukhov Similarity Theory in the roughness sublayer, the development of new approaches to understand the flow in this region of the atmosphere is necessary. By calculating the terms of TKE and their balance using a reduced TKE diagram, we sought to investigate the characteristics of turbulence over an Amazon forest located at the ATTO Project experimental site. To do so, using data from three sonic anemometers at heights of 35m, 50m and 81m installed on one of the experiment towers and collected between August and October 2021 for the daytime period, we computed the terms of mechanical production P , thermal production B, storage S, vertical turbulence transport Tv, and dissipation εe of TKE. At the chosen analysis height (66m - average between the two upper sonic anemometers) and after quality control, we obtained 42 one-hour blocks. It was observed that in over 90% of the cases, εe was the largest term. The second-largest term was B (≈ 57%) and the third was P (≈ 40%), showing a certain balance regarding production mechanisms. However, upon balancing them, the existence of a residual term, not explained by Tv, was found. This residual was predominantly negative, which may indicate the effect of vegetation and topography on the flow. It was also noted that in 70% of the blocks, the transport of TKE was upwards. S, on the other hand, is at least 2 orders of magnitude smaller than P , being negligible. Additionally, we calculated the dimensionless standard deviation for vertical wind speed, which showed good agreement with what is expected in the inertial sublayer (ISL).A equação da energia cinética da turbulência (TKE) quantifica a intensidade da turbulência, os mecanismos que a geram, transportam e dissipam. Dada a conhecida dificuldade em aplicar a Teoria da Similaridade de Monin-Obukhov na subcamada de rugosidade, o desenvolvimento de novas abordagens para entender o fluxo nesta região da atmosfera é necessário. Ao calcular os termos de TKE e seu equilíbrio usando um diagrama de TKE reduzido, buscamos investigar as características da turbulência sobre uma floresta amazônica localizada no sítio experimental do Projeto ATTO. Para isso, usando dados de três anemômetros sônicos em alturas de 35m, 50m e 81m instalados em uma das torres de experimentos e coletados entre agosto e outubro de 2021 para o período diurno, calculamos os termos de produção mecânica P, produção térmica B, armazenamento S, transporte de turbulência vertical Tv e dissipação εe de TKE. Na altura de análise escolhida (66m - média entre os dois anemômetros sônicos superiores) e após controle de qualidade, obtivemos 42 blocos de uma hora. Observou-se que em mais de 90% dos casos, εe foi o maior termo. O segundo maior termo foi B (≈ 57%) e o terceiro foi P (≈ 40%), mostrando certo equilíbrio quanto aos mecanismos de produção. No entanto, ao balanceá-los, foi encontrada a existência de um termo residual, não explicado por Tv. Esse resíduo foi predominantemente negativo, o que pode indicar o efeito da vegetação e da topografia no fluxo. Também foi notado que em 70% dos blocos, o transporte de TKE foi para cima. S, por outro lado, é pelo menos 2 ordens de grandeza menor que P, sendo desprezível. Adicionalmente, calculamos o desvio padrão adimensional para a velocidade vertical do vento, que mostrou boa concordância com o esperado na subcamada inercial (ISL)
Testes de módulos fotovoltaicos em túnel de vento: efeitos de escala e interação aerodinâmica
No full textResults of a study carried out in the UNNE wind tunnel to evaluate the aerodynamic loads on panels of a solar park are presented. The experimental study analyses the model scale effects that occur when two models with different characteristics are used. Likewise, the effects of aerodynamic interaction resulting from the relative location of the panels within the park are analysed. Firstly, a preliminary dynamic/numerical evaluation is carried out and then aerodynamic coefficients are experimentally determined, which will allow the quasi-static analysis of the structure of the panel-tracker system.São apresentados resultados de um estudo realizado no túnel de vento da UNNE com o objetivo de avaliar as cargas aerodinâmicas que ocorrem nos painéis de um parque solar. O estudo permite analizar os efeitos de escala do modelo que ocorrem quando dois modelos com características diferentes são usados. Da mesma forma, são analisados os efeitos da interação aerodinâmica resultantes da localização relativa dos painéis dentro do parque. Primeiramente, é realizada uma avaliação dinâmica/numérica preliminar e, em seguida, são determinados experimentalmente os coeficientes aerodinâmicos que permitirão a análise quase estática da estrutura do sistema painel-rastreador
La política exterior de Andrés Manuel López Obrador: el rol del presidente y la delegación a las burocracias
No full textMexican foreign policy (PEM) has remained constant since the 20th century, emphasizing relations with the United States and a liberal economic orientation, influenced by right-wing presidents and structural factors. However, the end of the long rule of the Institutional Revolutionary Party has rekindled debate over possible changes. This article examines PEM from 2019 to 2023, a period characterized by transformational expectations under Andrés Manuel López Obrador's (AMLO) presidency. Using a theoretical framework grounded in the core tenets of foreign policy analysis and a qualitative case study methodology, this study draws on both primary and secondary sources, evaluated through interpretative content analysis. We place special emphasis on AMLO's management, scrutinizing his potential impact, the delegation of responsibilities to specialized bureaucracies, and the modifications in foreign policy. We argue that, on one hand, AMLO adopted a predominantly pragmatic profile on structural issues, such as relations with the U.S., where he chose to leverage bureaucratic competence and maintain continuity. On the other hand, in spheres of greater autonomy, such as relations with Latin America and the Caribbean, he adopted more ideological positions, though instrumentalizing them to please his domestic base. Despite expectations, AMLO has not yet brought about revolutionary changes in foreign policy, with structural factors being decisive in the outcome.La política exterior mexicana (PEM) se ha mantenido constante desde el siglo XX, con énfasis en la relación con Estados Unidos y una orientación económica liberal, influenciada por presidentes de derecha y factores estructurales. No obstante, el final del largo gobierno del Partido Revolucionario Institucional ha avivado el debate sobre posibles cambios. Este artículo se propone analizar la PEM de 2019 a 2023, durante la presidencia de Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), un periodo marcado por expectativas de transformación. Utilizamos la metodología cualitativa, específicamente el estudio de caso, recurriendo a fuentes primarias y secundarias, evaluadas a partir del análisis de contenido interpretativo, y una moldura teórica embazada en supuestos básicos de la subárea de análisis de política exterior para evaluar los efectos de los condicionantes estructurales y la influencia de actores clave sobre la PEM. Se pone especial énfasis en la gestión de AMLO, examinando su potencial impacto, la delegación de responsabilidades a burocracias especializadas y las modificaciones en la política exterior. Argumentamos que, por un lado, AMLO adoptó un perfil predominantemente pragmático en temas estructurales, como el de las relaciones con EE. UU., en el cual él optó por aprovecharse de la competencia de las burocracias y mantener la continuidad. Por otro lado, en un eje de mayor autonomía, como el de las relaciones con América Latina y el Caribe, adoptó posiciones más ideológicas, aunque instrumentalizándolas para complacer su base doméstica. Pese a las expectativas, AMLO todavía no ha generado cambios revolucionarios en política exterior, con los factores estructurales siendo determinantes en tal resultado
Heterogeneidade Noética e as coisas políticas
No full textThe interpretation of Strauss's work is not easy and continues to be the subject of intense debate. A first aspect of the controversy is whether his work properly contains a philosophical or political theory. Many scholars, including the author himself, emphasize his “skepticism”, a skepticism that would not be radical, but “zetetic”.A second point of controversy is whether his work is primarily historical in nature or whether there is, behind the historical studies, a philosophical or political vision of his own. Scholars have some difficulty in summarizing the content of Strauss's teaching, which is always wrapped in historical clothing. A third point of controversy is the nature of Strauss's perspective: the authors are divided between those who emphasize that it is an apology for philosophy and those who believe that it contains a certain vision of politics. What is the author's intention? We suggest an interpretation according to which the author wishes to recover the classical tradition and defends natural right in terms of a hierarchy of goods. Therefore, the pedagogical presentation that leads Strauss to prefer to let the reader think for himself should not be an insurmountable obstacle to understanding his ideas.A interpretação da obra de Strauss não é fácil e continua a ser objeto de intenso debate. Um primeiro aspeto da controvérsia é se a sua obra contém propriamente uma teoria filosófica ou política. Muitos estudiosos, incluindo o próprio autor, sublinham o seu «ceticismo», um ceticismo que não seria radical, mas «zetético». Um segundo ponto de controvérsia é se a sua obra tem sobretudo uma natureza histórica ou se existe, por detrás dos estudos históricos, uma visão filosófica ou política própria. Os estudiosos têm alguma dificuldade em sumariar o conteúdo do ensinamento de Strauss, que está sempre envolvido numa roupagem histórica. Um terceiro ponto de controvérsia é a natureza da perspetiva de Strauss: os autores dividem-se entre os que sublinham que é uma apologia da filosofia e os que julgam que contém uma certa visão da política. Qual é a intenção do autor? Propomos uma interpretação segundo a qual o autor deseja recuperar a tradição clássica e faz uma defesa do direito natural em termos de uma hierarquia de bens. Portanto, o cuidado pedagógico que leva a que Strauss prefira deixar o leitor pensar por si mesmo não deveria ser um obstáculo insuperável à compreensão das suas ideias
Leo Strauss e a “Analogia do Homem Sábio”
No full textWithin scholarship on Leo Strauss and the the-ological-political problem,a significant inter-pretative approach suggests that the fundamental alternative between the ways of life symbolized by Athens and Jerusalem might be solved through argumentation. However, scholars differ regarding the type of argument capable of addressing this issue effectively. Among the proposed solutions, the “analogy of the wise man,” presented within a framework of hypothetical natural theology, is particularly notable. This analogy, which envisions the wise man as a model for understanding God as the most perfect being, appears in Strauss’s works, including Reason and Revelation (1948/2006), Jerusalem and Athens (1950/2022), and The Mutual Influence of Theology and Philosophy (1954/1979). Furthermore, newly published material in Leo Strauss on Plato’s Euthyphro (2023) provides fresh perspectives on this analogy. This article seeks to evaluate the significance, argumentative strength, and the dual implication of the analogy of the wise man.Na literatura sobre Leo Strauss e o problema teológico-político, uma corrente interpretativa sugere que essa alternativa fundamental entre os modos de vida, metaforicamente identificados com Atenas e Jerusalém, pode ser resolvida através da argumentação. No entanto, há divergências sobre qual tipo de argumento pode efetivamente abordar essa questão. Entre as soluções propostas, destaca-se o argumento da “analogia do homem sábio”, introduzido em uma teologia natural hipotética. Essa analogia posiciona o homem sábio como um modelo para compreender Deus como um ser perfeito, e é discutida por Strauss em algumas ocasiões, notavelmente em Reason and Revelation (1948/2006), Jerusalem and Athens (1950/2022) e The Mutual Influence of Theology and Philosophy (1954/1979). Projeto de Extensão EKOA: desconstrução da estigmatização dos serviços de acolhimento institucional para crianças e adolescentes
No full textInstitutional care services are part of Special Social Protection of Single Social Assistance System and are classified as highly complex services in that System. Therefore, the importance of investing in the training and monitoring of educators and the entire team that works in institutional care services for children and adolescents in order to qualify the care provided. The objective of the present work was, therefore, to report the experience of the Extension Project “EKOA: training educators and technicians for the construction of life projects with children and adolescents”, developed at the Federal University of Pará in 2019/2010, discussing the power of projects like this one, which aims to contribute to the deconstruction of the stigmatization of institutional care services for children and adolescents. The EKOA project collaboratively integrated the professionals involved, provoking reflections on the work developed, especially in institutional care services.Los servicios de acogimiento institucional forman parte de la Protección Social Especial del SUAS y están clasificados como servicios de alta complejidad en dicho Sistema. Por eso, la importancia de invertir en la formación y seguimiento de los educadores y de todo el equipo que actúa en los servicios de acogimiento institucionales a niños y adolescentes para cualificar la atención prestada. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue, por lo tanto, relatar la experiencia del Proyecto de Extensión “EKOA: formación de educadores y técnicos para la construcción de proyectos de vida con niños y adolescentes”, desarrollado en la Universidad Federal de Pará en 2019/2010, discutiendo el poder de proyectos como este, que pretende contribuir a la deconstrucción de la estigmatización de los servicios de acogida institucionales a niños y adolescentes. El proyecto EKOA integró colaborativamente a los profesionales implicados, provocando reflexiones sobre el trabajo desarrollado, especialmente en los servicios de acogimiento institucional.Os serviços de acolhimento institucional integram a Proteção Social Especial do Sistema Único de Assistência Social e são classificadas como serviços de alta complexidade desse Sistema. Daí a importância de investimento na capacitação e acompanhamento dos educadores e de toda a equipe que atua nos serviços de acolhimento institucional de crianças e adolescentes para qualificar o atendimento prestado. No full textBased on the text of the translation of the lecture on the metaphysics of customs released in June 2024 by the publisher of Unesp, I present an examination of the concepts of “Gewissensangst” and “Reue” as counterpoints to the concept of moral law. It is intended to demonstrate that Schopenhauer, when affirming the existence of a moral meaning for human actions, indicates the feeling of remorse as the basis for such meaning and legitimacy of morality, vehemently denying the possibility of a doctrine of duty based on the idea of a moral law, thus opposing Kantian ethics. This opposition permeates the entire text of the metaphysics of morals, appearing as a topic in the 1820 lecture.A partir do texto da tradução da preleção sobre a metafísica dos costumes lançada em junho de 2024 pela editora da Unesp, apresento um exame dos conceitos de “Gewissensangst” e “Reue” como contrapontos ao conceito de lei moral. Pretende-se demonstrar que Schopenhauer ao afirmar a existência de um sentido moral para as ações humanas indica o sentimento de remorso como fundamento para tal sentido e legitimidade da moralidade, negando veementemente a possibilidade de uma doutrina do dever baseada na ideia de uma lei moral, opondo-se, assim, à ética kantiana. Essa oposição perpassa todo o texto da metafísica dos costumes figurando como uma tópica da preleção de 1820
